SPECIAL FEATURES FOR THE ZENZA BRONICA MODEL-C CAMERA
The Zenza Broncica Model - C Camera is a sister camera to the S type, which is the supreme single lens
reflex camera of 6 X 6 size.
This camera has the efficiency of the S type, and is mechanically improved. The shutter sound and
mirror shock
are reduced as the result of experience with the S type, and constant research over a
long period.
• Instant Return Automatic Mirror :
The reflex mirror of Bronica Model - C is an ex·
clusive and original mechanism . It is very
different from that of other singl e I ens refl ex
cameras. Usually mirrors move upward, but the
Bronica instant ' return automatic mirror moves
forward and down . After the exposure. it instantly
and automatically returns to viewi . ng position.
Thus, it is possible to use wide-angle and large
caliber lenses, and a bright image remains on the
ground glass except while the shutter is in motion.
• Exclusive Nikkor Lenses and Automatic Diaphragm :
Nikkor lenses are espeCially designed for Bronica
Cameras and can be used on both C type and S
type . You can speedily adjust the focus of the
bright image; These lenses (50mm, 75mm, 13'5mm
and 200mm) have an instant reopening automatic
diaphragm .
• Depth - of - Field Preview Button :
By pressing this depth - of - field preview button,
you can check the depth-of-field before exposing .
• Multiple Exposure Device:
This is a special mechanism you can easily use
for commercial or artistic photo techni ques .
• Switch Lever for 24 Exposures:
Ordinary 120 film gives 12 exposures. 24 expo·
sures a~e possible on the 220 the new size film.
The Bronica Model - C has an entirely new system
permitting either length to be used .

knob.

Furthermore, through a speci al
stabilizing device , there is evenly
balanced exposure across the large
film area even at high shutter
speeds.
High quality miniature ball bearings
are used . The shutter curtain
travels across the 55mm fiIm gate
in 15-16 milliseconds. Intermediate
shutter speeds can be selected .
The X setting for electronic flash
( strobe ) represents 1/ 40 second .

MULTIPLE EXPOSURE DEVICE :
Modern commercial photographers often employ the
technique of double and triple exposures.
The Z enza B ronica Model- C has an original system
to stop the advancing of film and to wind t~,_ shu·
tter only .
(1) Make one ordinary exposure. It is necessary
to consider the position and construction of the
first exposure and the second exposures.
(2) For double or triple exposures t urn the multiple
exposure knob to " 0" and then wind the shutter.
You can now make a second and third exposure on
the same film without abvancirig the film.
Note:
Be sure to return the multiple exposure knob to
it's "Off" position without fail after taking the
multiple exposures .
When loading film, please check the multiple expo·
sure knob position before advancing the fil m
EXPOSURES SETTING DEVICE :
The ordinary Brownie size roll fil m (120Type)allows
twelve 6 X 6 exposures, but the new 220 Type roll
film takes 24 exposures.
- (Using) -
(
1) T he upper right picture shows the lever posi·
tion when using the twelve exposure fil m (120 Type)
In this case, after the 12 exposures are made,
the film advance crank will wind sufficiently until
there is no resistance .
(2) The lower right picture shows the lever posi·
tion when using the 24 exposures roll film.
(220 Type).
When using 24 exposure roll film, the lever should
be in this position .
Wind suff iciently unti 124 exposures are made and
the film advancing free,
(Remarks)
( 1) Switch lever may be moved to the 24 exposure
position at any time, if you have forgotten to do
so before loading.

• INTERCHANGING LENSES
To Remove Lens:
1. Extend lens by turning heli-
coid to clq sest focus posi-
tion.
2.Press bayonet lock with
thumb,
and twist to left.
( counter clock wise ), Remove
lens by pulling straight out.
To Mount
Lens:
1.Line up red dots on lens
and mount. Insert gently to
full stop. Twist to right
( clockwise) until bayonet
lock snaps closed.

• HELICOID LENS MOUNT
When using the bellows attachment
for . close-up photographs or a
large caliber interchangeable lens
(400mm) and over fitted with heli-
coid focussing , remove the Camera
helicoid mount and attach the ba-
yonet adapter to the front of body
mount as shown in lower right pictu .re
(
I) Press the Helicoid retaining
lock button and twist the helicoid
lens mount to the lef t (counter-
clockwise) and then remove the
Helicoid.
(2) To return the Helicoid, insert
in to body mount, lining up the red
dots on Helicoid mount and body
mount. Twist the Helicoid mount to
right (clockwise) until Helicoid
retaining lock snaps closed .

.USING FOCUSING HOOD :
The focusing hood of the Zenza Bronica
Model-C can easily
be removed and insert·
ed . It is possible to use both the prism
finder for eye- level focusing
and the
outdoors magnifying
hood which is ajdust·
able for individual eyes.
(1) Press upward the focusing hood retain-
i ng lock on the front of camera body
name plate and then remove.
(2) When inserting the focusing hood,
match the two
tips on the back side of
the focusi
ng hood frame and the two holes
on the back side of the focusing hood.
Press down
and lock the front side of the
focusing hood.
