HOW TO USE THE ZEPCAM LIVE - SETTING UP 3G / WI-FI
SETTING UP Wi-Fi STREAMING
For the first Wi-Fi network setup we recommend to generate a special Wi-Fi setup file. Once your Zepcam
has access to a Wi-Fi network it is easier to add new Wi-Fi networks via a special web interface.
First time Wi-Fi setup: Generate Wi-Fi file:
• Go to live.zepcam.com
• Click on CREATE WI-FI SETUP
• Enter the exact Wi-Fi details (SSID, PASSWORD, security level) and select GENERATE
• Copy the downloaded file (named wpa_supplicant.conf) to the root folder of your Zepcam
• Disconnect the Zepcam from your PC
• Choose SETTINGS >STREAMING SETTINGS >WI-FI >SETTINGS >ADVANCED SETTINGS
>UPDATE CONFIG FILE WI-FI
• The Zepcam can now be connected to the Wi-Fi network
The word LINK appears next to the Wi-Fi icon
9

• Connect the Zepcam to your Wi-Fi network (STREAMING SETTINGS>Wi-Fi: On)
• Find the Zepcam IP address (STREAMING SETTINGS >WI-FI >DETAILS>WIRELESS IP ADDRESS)
• On your computer (connected to same Wi-Fi network) open your browser and enter the IP address
• In your browser: go to settings
For APN settings:
• Enter your APN setting supplied by your telecom provider, or find them on the internet
For Wi-Fi settings:
• Enter the Wi-Fi details (NAME, PASSWORD, security level) and select UPDATE WI-FI
• The new APN and Wi-Fi settings are now added to your Zepcam
To set up 3G streaming, an UNLOCKED SIMcard with data plan is needed (no PIN lock activated)
• Make sure the Zepcam Live module is NOT attached to the Zepcam recorder
• Open the live module by using a screwdriver
• Place your SIM card in the SIM card reader and close the live module by using the screws
• Insert the connector of the live module in the back of the recorder
• Switch on the recorder, login with your personal id and go to SETTINGS >STREAMING SETTINGS
>3G >SETTINGS
• Now select provider (the Zepcam will search for mobile provider, this may
take a few minutes) and choose your provider with the right subscription
• Manual add provider APN (see adding APN settings) via Wi-Fi login
• Wait until you see the 3G icon on the top of the recorder screen, which
indicates you have a connection. If the word LINK appears, streaming is
possible

• Click on a thumbnail to show the stream in a Java Player showing fluently buffered playing video with a
little delay.

Important note: Streams in Java Player are shown in higher quality
• Note: at the moment Firefox, Safari and Chrome browsers give the best results

• Go to your personal Zepcam page and copy the link address of the live stream you want to see
• In VLC player go to media
