1. Algemene informatie
Voor het in gebruik nemen van deze machine dient men eerst de gebruiksaanwijzing volledig te lezen
en te begrijpen!!!
Deze handleiding bevat belangrijke informatie voor de juiste manier van het installeren, de werking
en het onderhouden van de uitrusting die hierin beschreven is. Bij het gebruik van elke zandstraal-
cabine komen verschillende risico’s op eigen verwondingen of eigendomsschade kijken. Iedereen die
in aanraking komt met het installeren, onderhouden of met de werking van de zandstraalcabine
moet volledig bekend zijn met de inhoud van deze handleiding. Om u te beschermen tegen het
oplopen van persoonlijk letsel of eigendomsschade dient u de volgende aanwijzingen en instructies
in deze handleiding op te volgen.
Iedere ZionAir zandstraalcabine is geproduceerd in overeenstemming met de machinerichtlijn
2006/42/EG. Bij iedere zandstraalmachine wordt een handleiding inclusief onderhoudslegenda en
conformiteitsverklaring geleverd, deze dienen goed bewaard en bijgehouden te worden.
Omdat er in het oog van de kwaliteit constant verbeteringen aan de apparatuur worden
doorgevoerd, behoudt ZionAir zich het recht voor om specificaties van de in de handleiding
beschreven apparatuur te wijzigen.
2. Veiligheidsvoorschriften
Algemene veiligheidsvoorschriften
1. Alvorens men met deze machine aan de slag gaat, dient men de volledige gebruikers-
handleiding gelezen en begrepen te hebben.
2. Controleer de machine voorafgaand aan ieder gebruik op defecten, wanneer er sprake is van
een defect of de machine functioneert niet naar behoren, laat deze dan eerst repareren door
een gespecialiseerd persoon/bedrijf.
3. Draag te allen tijde oogbescherming wanneer U met de machine werkt, gebruik een
veiligheidsbril met zijschild of gebruik een overzetbril welke voldoet aan de nationale
veiligheidsnorm.
4. Houdt de werkomgeving schoon en goed verlicht, rommel en slechte verlichting zijn factoren
die de kans op gevaarlijke situaties vergroten.
5. Gebruik deze machine nooit in de buurt van ontvlambare vloeistoffen en/of gassen.
6. Gebruik de machine nooit in een gevaarlijke werkomgeving. Het gebruik van elektrisch
gereedschap in vochtige omgevingen of in de regen kan elektrocutie veroorzaken.
7. Zorg ervoor dat de machine goed geaard is.
8. Wees er zeker van dat de schakelaar op de UIT –positie (0/OFF) staat alvorens men de
stekker insteekt.
9. Houdt kinderen en bezoekers op een veilige afstand.
10. Maak uw werkplaats kind-veilig door te werken met hangsloten op de hoofdschakelaars en
door sleutels te verwijderen wanneer de machine niet in gebruik is.
11. Draag te allen tijde ademhalingsbescherming en een veiligheidsbril bij het openen van de
klep nadat men gebruik heeft gemaakt van de zandstraalcabine.

Specifieke veiligheidsvoorschriften voor zandstraalcabines
1. Voorkom te allen tijde het inademen van vrijkomend stof, draag te allen tijde
adembescherming wanneer men de ruimte waar de zandstraalcabine staat betreedt i.v.m.
fijnstof dat vrijkomt tijdens het stralen en in de lucht blijft hangen. Het inademen van fijnstof
veroorzaakt ernstige longproblemen.
2. Zet de machine uit en koppel deze los van de voeding alvorens men de machine gaat
reinigen, de stoffilter verwijdert of onderhoud gaat plegen.
3. Zorg ervoor dat de machine goed geaard is. Indien men gebruik maakt van een verlengkabel,
controleer dan of deze geaard is en of deze voldoende capaciteit heeft.
4. De leiding voor de persluchttoevoer dient afsluitbaar te zijn d.m.v. een kraan en de perslucht
dient vrij te zijn van water, olie en andere verontreinigingen.
5. Gebruik de machine nooit in de buurt van explosieve/licht ontvlambare stoffen en/of gassen,
vonken die ontstaan binnenin elektrische onderdelen kunnen ontvlambare gassen of stoffen
ontsteken.
6. Om gezondheidsproblemen te voorkomen dient men onder geen enkele voorwaarde gebruik
te maken van straalzand dat silica bevat, maak alleen gebruik van straalgrit dat specifiek is
bedoeld om mee te zandstralen.
7. Plaats de unit op een stevige, vlakke ondergrond.
8. Controleer de machine voorafgaand aan gebruik op beschadigde en/of defecte onderdelen.
Let hierbij vooral op of alle afdichtingen nog in goede staat zijn en alles goed afsluit,
controleer tevens alle leidingen op lekkages.
9. Gebruik de cabine nooit zonder afzuiging en/of wanneer de cabine niet volledig is afgesloten.
LET OP! Er is geen afzuiging meegeleverd met deze machine!
10. Gebruik te allen tijde Uw gezond verstand wanneer U werkt met machines.
LET OP! Het niet opvolgen van deze instructies kan schade aan materialen en/of lichamelijk letsel
veroorzaken!

3. Assemblage
Uitpakken
Verwijder de doos en controleer de zandstraalcabine op beschadigingen, defecte onderdelen etc..
Indien er sprake is van beschadiging door transport of een defect onderdeel, neem dan onmiddellijk
contact op met Uw Zionair verkooppunt.

Assemblage
1. Bevestig de handschoenen (11, fig.1) nu op de ringen met de klemmen (12, fig.1).
2. Plaats de lamp (23, fig.2) in de lampklem (25, fig.2) en zet deze vast met de tie rip (24, fig.2).
3. Bevestig de luchtslang (38, fig.3) op de slangpilaar (39, fig.3) van de luchtinlaat en zet deze
vast met de slangklem.
4. Draai de voetjes (16) onder de kast (fig.4).
5. Bediening
Voorbereiding
1. Alvorens men kan gaan stralen dient het werkstuk vrij te zijn van olie, water en vocht, wees
er zeker van dat het werkstuk droog en schoon is.
2. Stel de werkdruk van de perslucht in tussen 4en 8,6 bar, 8,6 bar is de maximale werkdruk,
denk eraan dat straalgrit sneller afbreekt onder een hoge werkdruk. TIP: Begin met een
werkdruk van 4 bar, hiermee kunnen de meeste werkstukken goed worden gestraald. Bij
licht staal, aluminium en andere fijnere werkstukken kan men beter beginnen op een
lagere werkdruk en deze langzaam opvoeren indien nodig voor het gewenste resultaat.
3. Het straalgrit dient van goede kwaliteit te zijn, wellicht nog belangrijker is dat er geen vocht
in het straalgrit zit. Vocht zorgt ervoor dat het straalgrit gaat klonteren, wat ervoor zorgt dat
het niet optimaal kan doorstromen en er kunnen verstoppingen ontstaan.
4. Daarnaast kan men ervoor kiezen om een grotere of kleinere maat nozzle te gebruiken. Een
grotere nozzle zal de klus sneller klaren omdat er een groter oppervlak gestraald kan worden.
Echter gaat hierdoor ook het luchtverbruik flink omhoog, de compressor moet dit wel
aankunnen.

Bediening
1. Houdt het straalpistool in een hoek van 45-60° t.o.v. het werkstuk op een afstand van 10-
15cm met de spuitmond richting de achterkant van de cabine. Houdt het straalpistool nooit
in een hoek van 90° t.o.v. het werkstuk, hierdoor kaatst het straalgrit terug in de straal,
waardoor de effectiviteit van de straal minder wordt. Daarnaast veroorzaakt dit ook extra
slijtage aan zowel het straalpistool als het kijkvlak.
2. Het pistool moet altijd van de operator af wijzen en richting het werkstuk.
3. Het is ten strengste verboden om te zandstralen indien de cabine niet volledig is afgesloten
(openstaande klep/deur) of wanneer de afzuiging en/of verlichting niet aanstaat.
4. Alvorens men een werkstuk in de cabine wil plaatsen/uit de cabine wil halen, dient men de
perslucht toevoer af te sluiten d.m.v. de kraan dicht te draaien.
4. Onderhoud
WAARSCHUWING! Voordat men onderhoud gaat plegen, dient men de stekker uit het stopcontact
te verwijderen om er zeker van te zijn dat de machine is losgekoppeld van de voeding. Het niet
loskoppelen van de voeding kan een elektrische schok veroorzaken. Tevens dient men de perslucht
toevoer af te sluiten d.m.v. de kraan.
Controle voorafgaand aan ieder gebruik
Controleer de zandstraalkast voor ieder gebruik op beschadigde en/of vervormde onderdelen.
Controleer alle leidingen op slijtage en controleer of de nozzle niet te zeer versleten is. Controleer
tevens of de afzuiging goed werkt, maak deze eventueel schoon en als laatste dient men te
controleren of alle kleppen/deuren nog goed sluiten. Indien er sprake is van een mankement/defect,
stel de zandstraalkast dan buiten gebruik tot dit verholpen is.
Mogelijke problemen en oorzaken
1. Controleer iedere 10-12 uur de nozzle, indien deze oneven is afgesleten dient deze iedere 10
uur ¼ slag te worden gedraaid.
2. Indien het straalgrit gaat klonteren, betekent dit dat er vocht in de perslucht zit of dat er
vocht/olie in het systeem zit. Dit kan leiden tot verstoppingen en ongelijke straal. Plaats altijd
een luchtverzorgerset/luchtdroger in het systeem. Het kan ook zijn dat er teveel vuil in het
straalgrit zit, dit kan worden verholpen door het straalgrit te zeven/vervangen.
3. Wanneer de straal regelmatig onderbroken wordt, plaats dan een duim (MET HANDSCHOEN)
op de spuitmond (stevig klemmen) en druk het voetpedaal een paar seconden in. Hierdoor
stroomt de lucht terug door de aanzuigslang waardoor eventuele verstoppingen oplossen.
4. Controleer regelmatig of er geen lekkages/verstoppingen zijn in de perslucht toevoer. Stel
hiervoor de druk in op 5,5 bar op de drukregelaar, bedien vervolgens het voetpedaal en
controleer of de druk ineens flink daalt. Indien dit het geval is, is er sprake van een
belemmering in de luchttoevoer. Dit kan komen door:
-Diameter luchtslang te klein
-Verstopte koppeling/drukregelaar/reduceerventiel
-Verstopte/geknikte leiding
-Afstand tussen persluchtbron en straalcabine te groot

TIP: De diameter van de luchttoevoer leiding dient tenminste ½” te zijn.
5. Indien er sprake is van slecht zicht in de cabine door overtollig stof kan dit de volgende
oorzaken hebben:
-Luchtinlaat linksboven drukregelaar is geblokkeerd
-Stofafzuiging zit vol en moet schoongemaakt en leeggemaakt worden
-Filter van stofafzuiging is vol/vervuild door vocht/olie
-Straalgrit is niet meer goed (te fijn)
6. Slecht zicht in de cabine, dit kan komen doordat de doorzichtige beschermfolie, die over het
kijkglas heen zit, is beschadigd. Deze kan men gemakkelijk vervangen door een nieuwe.
Wanneer het glas zelf beschadigd is, vervang dit dan door veiligheidsglas van dezelfde dikte
en afmetingen, dit kunt U ook krijgen bij Uw Zionair-leverancier.
Schoonmaken van de afzuiging (niet meegeleverd)
Kijk de afzuiging na iedere 5 uur gebruik na, verwijder stof met behulp van perslucht of stofzuiger en
verwijder opgehoopt vuil om een goede afzuigende werking te garanderen.

7. Garantie
1. De garantie treed in werking op de datum vermeld op de aankoopnota en heeft een
geldigheid van 12 maanden.
2. De garantie is niet overdraagbaar zonder schriftelijke toestemming van Uw leverancier.
3. Zonder aankoopnota kan geen aanspraak op garantie worden gemaakt.
4. Garantie is alleen van toepassing als het product volgens de bijgeleverde gebruiksaanwijzing
gebruikt wordt en uitsluitend voor het doel waarvoor het is ontworpen.
5. Er mogen geen wijzigingen aan het product worden uitgevoerd.
6. De garantie is niet van toepassing bij onoordeelkundig gebruik.
7. Eventuele verzendkosten vallen niet onder de garantie bepaling.
8. Reparaties dienen uitsluitend door Uw leverancier te geschieden. Elk door derden
uitgevoerde reparatie(s) zullen (zal) de aanspraak op garantie doen vervallen.
9. Reparaties gedurende de garantie periode zal de geldigheid niet verlengen. Wel wordt een
garantie op de reparatie van drie maanden afgegeven mocht de reguliere garantietermijn
vervallen.
10. De eventueel uit te voeren onderhoudswerkzaamheden, beschreven in de
gebruiksaanwijzing, dienen tijdig uitgevoerd te worden.
11. Voor garantie kunt u enkel terecht bij het verkooppunt waar u het artikel heeft aangekocht.

1. General
Before starting to use the machine you need to read and fully understand the manual!!!
This manual contains important information about the proper way of installing, operating and
maintaining the equipment described in this manual. When using any sandblasting cabinet there are
a different kind of risks that you may incur, risks in personal injuries or property damage. Everyone
who comes into contact with the installation, maintenance or operation of the Zionair sandblasting
cabinet be fully familiar with the contents of this manual. To protect yourself against personal injury
or property damage you need to follow the following information and instructions in this manual.
Every Zionair sandblasting cabinet is manufactured in accordance with the Machinery Directive
2006/42/EC. Every sandblasting cabinet is supplied with a manual including a declaration of
conformity. These must be stored and kept up to date properly.
Because of quality reasons constant improvements are going to be made on the equipment, Zionair
reserves the right to alter specifications of the equipment described in this manual.
2. Safety rules
General safety regulations
1. Before operating the machine, make sure you have fully read and understood the entire
contents of this user manual.
2. Check the machine for defects previous to each use, in case of a defect or when the machine
does not function properly, first have it repaired by a specialized person/company.
3. At all times wear eye protection when operating the machine, use safety glasses with side
cover or use an over glasses which meets the national safety standard.
4. Keep the working environment clean and well-lit, debris and bad lighting are factors that
cause dangerous situations.
5. Never use this machine near flammable liquids and/or gases.
6. Never use this machine in a dangerous working environment. The use of power equipment in
moist environments or rain can cause electrocution.
7. Make sure the machine is properly grounded.
8. Make sure the power switch is in the OFF-position (0) before plugging in the machine.
9. Keep kids and visitors at a safe distance.
10. Make your workshop child-proof by using hang locks on main switches and removing keys
when the machine is not being used.
11. At all times wear breathing protection and safety glasses when opening the cover after using
the machine.

Specific safety regulations for sandblasting cabinets
1. Prevent breathing in dust at all times, wear respiratory protection at all times when one
enters the room where the sandblasting cabinet stands with regard to particulate matter
that is released during the blasting and remains in the air. Breathing in particulate matter
causes serious lung problems.
2. Turn off the machine and unplug it from the power source before cleaning the machine,
removing dust filter or performing maintenance.
3. Make sure the machine is properly grounded. In case you are using an extension, check if it is
grounded and if the capacity is sufficient.
4. The compressed air hose should be closable by means of a tap/valve and the compressed air
is to be free of water, oil and other pollutions.
5. Never use the machine near explosive/highly flammable liquids and/or gases, sparks that
might occur in electrical parts could ignite flammable gases or liquids.
6. To prevent health problems you should under no circumstance use blasting grit which
contains silica, only use blasting grit which is specifically meant for sandblasting.
7. Place the unit on a solid and level surface.
8. Check the machine previous to each use for damaged and/or defect parts. Pay special
attention if all seals are still good and check all hoses for leakages.
9. Never use the sandblasting cabinet without dust extraction or when it is not closed. PAY
ATTENTION! There is no dust extractor included with this machine!
10. At all times use your common sense when operating machines.
PAY ATTENTION! Failure to heed these instructions may cause damage to materials and/or
injuries!

3. Assembly
Unpacking
Remove the carton and check the sandblasting cabinet for damage, defect parts etc.. In case of
damage through transport or defect parts, immediately contact your Zionair-retailer.

Assembly
1. Mount the gloves (11, fig.1) onto the rings with the clamps (12, fig.1).
2. Place the lamp (23, fig.2) in in the clamp (25, fig.2) and secure with the tie rip (24, fig.2).
3. Connect the air hose (38, fig.3) to the hose connector (39, fig.3) of the air inlet and secure
with the hose clamp.
4. Mount the foot pads (16) under the cabinet (fig.4).
4. Operation
Preparation
1. Before you can start sandblasting make sure the workpiece is free of oil, water and moisture,
make sure the workpiece is dry and clean.
2. Set the work pressure of the compressed air between 4 and 8.6 bar, 8.6 bar is the maximum
work pressure, grit breaks down faster with a higher work pressure. ADVICE: Start with a
working pressure of 4 bar, most work pieces can be blasted easily with this pressure. For
light steel, aluminum and other fine work pieces you can better start at a low working
pressure and if necessary adjust the pressure higher for the optimal result.
3. The blasting grit should be of good quality, but it is probably even more important than it to
be moist free. Moist grit clutters, which causes a bad flow and clogging.
4. You can also choose to use a bigger or smaller size nozzle. A bigger size nozzle gets the job
done faster because it can blast a larger surface, this also causes a higher air consumption,
make sure the compressor can handle it.

Operation
1. Keep the blasting gun at an angle of 45-60° towards the work piece at a distance of 10-15cm
with the nozzle pointing towards the backside of the cabinet. Never hold the gun in a 90°
toward the work piece, this causes the grit to rebound back into the spray, which causes a
less effective spray. This also causes extra wear to the gun and viewing glass.
2. The blasting gun should always point away from the operator towards the work piece.
3. It is strongly forbidden to start sandblasting when the cabinet is not fully closed (open
door/cover) or when the dust extractor and or light is not on.
4. Before placing/removing a work piece , make sure to turn off the compressed air supply by
closing the air valve.
5. Maintenance
WARNING! Before performing maintenance, remove the plug form the power source, failure to
heed this instruction may cause electrocution. Close the valve of the compressed air supply.
Check before each use
Check the sandblasting cabinet previous to each use for damaged and/or deformed parts. Check all
hoses for wear and tear and check if the nozzle is not too worn. Check if the dust extractor works
well, clean it if necessary, finally also check if the doors/covers still close properly. In case of a
malfunction/defect, do not use the sandblasting cabinet until it has been repaired.
Possible problems and causes
1. Check the nozzle every 10-12 hours, in case it is worn unevenly, turn it ¼ stroke every 10
hours.
2. In case the grit is clotting, this means there is moisture in the compressed air or there is
moisture/oil in the system. This leads to clogging and an uneven spray. Always place an air
unit/air dryer in the system. It could also be that there is too much debris in the grit, this can
be solved by filtering/replacing the grit.
3. When the spray is often disrupted, place a thumb (WITH GLOVES ON) over the nozzle and
(press firmly) and depress the foot pedal for a few seconds. Now the air blows back into the
suction hose, which can dissolve possible obstructions.
4. Regularly check for leakages/obstructions in the compressed air supply. Adjust the pressure
to 5.5 bar on the air regulator, now press the foot pedal and check for sudden pressure drop.
If this is the case it means the compressed air supply is obstructed, this can be caused by:
-Diameter of air hose too small
-Blocked coupler/pressure regulator
-Blocked/kinked hose
-Distance between compressed air supply and sandblasting cabinet is too big
ADVICE: The diameter of the air hose should be at least ½“.
5. In case of poor visibility inside the cabinet by excessive dust, this could have the following
causes:
-Air inlet top left of the pressure regulator is blocked
-Dust extractor is full and is to be cleaned/emptied

-Filter of dust extractor is full/polluted by moist/oil
-Grit is no longer good (too fine)
6. Poor visibility inside the cabinet can also be caused by damaged protective foil, which is
placed over the viewing glass. This can easily be replaced by new foil. When the glass itself is
damaged, replace it by safety glass with the same thickness and measurements, you can get
this at your Zionair retailer.
Cleaning the dust extractor (not included)
Check the dust extractor after every 5 hours, remove dust by means of compressed air or vacuum
cleaner and removed clogged debris to ensure a proper functioning of the extractor.

7. Warranty
1. The warranty enters into force on the date that is mentioned on the receipt and has a validity
of twelve months.
2. The warranty is not transferable without written permission of your distributor.
3. Warranty cannot be claimed without a receipt.
4. Warranty only applies when the product is used according to the included manual and is
used exclusively in the way it was designed for.
5. No changes can be made to the product.
6. The warranty does not apply in case of injudicious use.
7. Possible shipping costs are not covered by the warranty.
8. Repairs should exclusively be carried out by your supplier. Repair(s) carried out by others will
result in cancellation of the warranty.
9. Repairs that are carried out during the warranty period will not extend the validity of the
warranty. There will be given a warranty of three months on the repair itself in case the
regular warranty should expire.
10. Potential maintenance of the product, as described in the user manual, should be carried out
on time.
11. For the warranty U can only turn to the retailer where U bought the product.
