limit between-meal snacks. You should also visit your dentist regularly for
professional cleaning and oral exams.

GETTING STARTED
1. Open battery compartment at base of handle by pulling off the battery cover
(A). Insert two AA batteries (provided) and replace cover by pushing firmly
until you hear a snap or see that the white rubber seal is covered (B).
2. Install RED Ultra-Soft brush head one brush at a time, with bristles facing
outward, or back to back, away from each other (C). Align and push onto
metal pin until it snaps. Confirm brush head is installed by gently pulling on
brush head. Note: The ends of the metal pins are never aligned.
3. Wet brush head, then apply a pea-sized amount of toothpaste.
4. Before putting the brush in your mouth, turn it on by rotating the switch,
located at base of handle, clockwise (D).
5. Gently bite & guide! Brush ONLY 10 seconds on each side of the mouth (20
seconds total) for the first several days as this is a powerful and effective

BRUSHING INSTRUCTIONS
For the first several weeks, use the RED Ultra-Soft brush head. After your gums
become accustomed to 30 Second Smile™, you can switch to the BLUE Standard
brush head, which is even more effective in plaque removal and gum stimula-
tion.
You may experience minor bleeding. This is normal, and is an indication that the
30 Second Smile™toothbrush is now brushing areas of the gums that were not
reached with other brushes.
Be sure brush head does not bump teeth.
Refer to the following steps:
uWet bristles and apply a pea-sized amount of toothpaste, if desired.
You can find an instructional video @: www.30secondsmile.com/demovideo
v Before putting the brush in
your mouth, turn it on by rotat-
ing the switch, located at base
of handle, clockwise, or simply
position the brush heads
between front upper and lower
teeth, then turn it on at the
base of the handle.
w Hold handle with thumb and one finger ONLY, keeping the handle horizon-
tal. Do not grip the handle with your hand, as it needs freedom to move
along your teeth. The comfort grips in the middle of the handle are not
switches.
xBite into moving bristles with front teeth until you feel the brush mas-
saging the gums. DO NOT BITE TOO HARD. Allow your teeth to position the
brush, do not force it.
Place toothpaste on both sides
STARTING POSITION

yGently move the brush from your front teeth to the back teeth, guiding the
brush along the natural curve of your teeth (A, B, C). Then gently guide the
brush toward the front. It is not necessary to move the handle vigorously
back and forth. Let the brush head do the work.
zTurn the brush the other direction and brush the other side of the mouth
using the same procedure (D, E, F). You may find it more comfortable to
switch hands.
