2. Description
The DC power supply 450 V is designed to supply
power for electrostatics experiments, in particular
experiments using an electrometer (U8531408).
It possesses two DC outputs and an AC output, all of
which are protected against short circuits.
The power supply with the item number U8521400-
115 is for operation with a mains voltage of 115 V
(±10%), and the transformer with the item number
U8521400-230 unit is for operation with a mains
voltage of 230 V (±10%).

4. Operation
4.1 General information
•The AC and DC outputs cannot be used at the
same time
•Before connecting the plug to the power supply,
set the voltage selector switch to zero.
4.2 Obtaining an AC voltage
•Connect the load to the AC output sockets (3).
•Set the voltage selector switch (3) to give the
required voltage; if necessary connect a voltme-
ter in parallel with the load.
4.3 Obtaining a DC voltage
•Connect the load to the DC output sockets (1 or 2).
•Set the voltage selector switch (1 or ) to give the
required voltage; if necessary connect a voltme-
ter in parallel with the load.
