WS5 Adapter
The WS5 adapter is in conformity with the provisions set out in the R&TTE directive 1999/5/EC.
Thereby it fullls the requirements for CE marking.
1. WHAT IS WHAT

2. USAGE/FUNCTIONS
2:1 Turning the adapter On or Off
Press and hold the On/Off/Mode button (A:1) for two seconds to turn the adapter On or Off.
2:2 Bluetooth
The adapter can be paired with and connected to a Bluetooth device that supports Handsfree or
Headset.
PTT functionality over the Bluetooth protocol is compatible with Peltor WS2, WS3 and WS5
headsets.
Pairing procedure
• Put the headset you want to connect to in pairing mode according to headset user instructions.
• Ensure that the adapter is charged and turned off.
• Press and hold the On/Off/Mode button (A:1) for ve seconds. This puts the adapter in pairing
mode, the On/Off/Mode button (A:1) button starts ashing rapidly.
• The adapter starts looking for Peltor headsets and connects to the rst Peltor headset found. If
no Peltor Headset is found within 30 sec, the adapter starts looking for other headsets.
• When pairing is complete and the headset is connected the On/Off/Mode button (A:1) ashes
twice every 3 sec.
2:3 User menu
The user menu is entered by pressing the On/Off/Mode button (A:1) when device is powered on
and connected to a headset. Menu commands will be sent from the adapter over the Bluetooth
protocol and can be heard as a ghost voice in a connected headset.

The menu has the following options:

Reset to factory default
A reset to factory default is achieved by pressing and holding the Bluetooth button (A:2) for 2 sec.
in this menu stage. This resets the device to factory default, and removes all paired devices.
A reset to factory default can also be achieved without having to enter the menu. This is done by
pressing booth buttons for 10 sec until the adapter switches off again.
3. OTHER FUNCTIONS
• The last settings are stored when the adapter is switched off.
• Low battery level is indicated by a ghost voice message: “adapter low battery” and On/Off/
Mode button (A:1) ashes red.
• Digital noise reduction and echo cancellation on incoming audio.
• Aircraft detection with notication to Pilot and Peltor Headset.
4. IMPORTANT USER INFORMATION
• Certain chemical substances may damage the adapter. Contact the manufacturer for more
information.
• If sound distortion increases or the volume becomes too weak, it is time to charge or replace
the batteries. Never replace or insert batteries with the unit switched on. Ensure that the
batteries are correctly aligned before using the product.
• Do not store the adapter with batteries inserted.
• Under extremely cold conditions, warm the adapter before using.
• The performance may deteriorate with battery usage.
• Operating temperature: -20°C to +55°C

All types of AA 1.2–1.5V batteries can be used (NiMH, NiCd, Alkaline, Lithium, Manganese, etc).

5:2 Battery life
The expected battery life may vary depending on the brand of batteries and the temperature in
which the adapter is used. Low battery level is indicated by a ghost voice saying: “adapter low
battery”.
The adapter functions will not work optimally if the battery level is low.
Typical battery life time with 2xAA Alkaline batteries is 29 h.

6. STORAGE
Do not store the adapter at temperatures exceeding +55°C, for example on a dashboard or
windowsill. Do not store the adapter at temperatures below –55°C.
Remove the batteries when storing the adapter for a long time. Check the functionality of the unit
after replacing the batteries.
7. CLEANING/DISPOSAL
Clean the product with soap and warm water. Note! Do not immerse in water or uids.
This product is covered by the WEEE directive 2002/96/EC and is recyclable. Dispose the
product in accordance with national regulation. Use local recycling system for electronic products.

Adaptateur WS5

2. UTILISATION / FONCTIONS
2:1 Activer et désactiver l’adaptateur
Appuyez sur la touche On/Off/Mode (A:1) pendant 2 secondes pour activer ou désactiver
l’adaptateur.
2:2 Bluetooth
L’adaptateur peut être couplé et connecté à un appareil Bluetooth prenant en charge les prols
mains libres ou headset.
La fonctionnalité PTT via le protocole Bluetooth est compatible avec les headsets Peltor WS2, WS3
et WS5.
Procédure de couplage
• Mettez le headset que vous souhaitez relier en mode de couplage selon les instructions
d’utilisation du headset.
• Assurez-vous que l’adaptateur est chargé et hors tension.
• Appuyez sur la touche On/Off/Mode (A:1) pendant 5 secondes. L’adaptateur se met alors en
mode de couplage et la touche On/Off/Mode (A:1) clignote rapidement.
• L’adaptateur effectue une recherche des headsets Peltor et se connecte au premier headset
Peltor détecté. Si aucun headset Peltor n’est détecté dans les 30 premières secondes,
l’adaptateur commence à chercher d’autres headsets.
• Lorsque le couplage est terminé et que le headset est connecté, la touche On/Off/Mode (A:1)
clignote à deux reprises toutes les 3 secondes
2:3 Menu utilisateur
Pour accéder au menu utilisateur, appuyez sur la touche On/Off/Mode (A:1) lorsque l’appareil est
sous tension et relié à un headset. Les commandes du menu sont envoyées depuis l’adaptateur
par protocole Bluetooth et peuvent être entendues sous forme de message vocal dans un headset
raccordé.

Le menu possède les options suivantes :

À cette étape du menu, vous pouvez effectuer une réinitialisation aux réglages d’usine en appuyant
sur la touche Bluetooth (A:2) pendant 2 secondes. Cela réinitialise l’appareil aux valeurs d’usine, et
retire tous les appareils couplés.
Vous pouvez également réinitialiser l’appareil aux réglages d’usine sans entrer dans le menu. Il
suft d’appuyer sur les deux boutons pendant 10 secondes jusqu’à ce que l’adaptateur s’éteigne à
nouveau.
3. AUTRES FONCTIONS
• Mémorisation des derniers réglages lors de la mise hors tension de l’adaptateur.
• Si le niveau des piles est faible, un message vocal indique : « adapter low battery » (batterie de
l’adaptateur faible) et la touche On/Off/Mode (A:1) clignote en rouge.
• Réduction numérique du bruit et suppression de l’écho sur les sons entrants.
• Détection d’avion avec notication au pilote et au headset Peltor.
4. INFORMATIONS D’UTILISATION CLÉS
• Certaines substances chimiques peuvent endommager l’adaptateur. Contactez le fabricant pour
de plus amples renseignements.
• Si la distorsion du son augmente ou si le volume devient trop faible, rechargez ou remplacez les
piles. Ne remplacez ou n’insérez jamais de piles lorsque l’unité est sous tension. Assurez-vous
que les piles sont correctement alignées avant d’utiliser le produit.
• Ne conservez pas l’adaptateur avec des piles dedans.
• Dans des conditions de froid extrême, réchauffez l’adaptateur avant de l’utiliser.
• Les performances peuvent se détériorer avec l’usure des piles.
• Température de fonctionnement : -20 °C à +55 °C.

5:1 Type de piles
Tous les types de piles AA 1,2-1,5 V peuvent être utilisés (NiMH, NiCd, alcalines, lithium,
manganèse, etc.).
5:2 Durée de vie des piles
La durée de vie attendue des piles peut varier selon la marque des piles et la température
d’utilisation de l’adaptateur. Si le niveau des piles est faible, un message vocal indique : « adapter
low battery » (batterie de l’adaptateur faible).
Les fonctionnalités de l’adaptateur ne fonctionneront pas de manière optimale si le niveau des piles
est faible.
La durée de vie typique de deux piles alcalines AA est de 29 h.

6. STOCKAGE
Ne conservez pas l’adaptateur dans des endroits où la température peut dépasser +55 °C, comme
sur le tableau de bord d’un véhicule ou derrière une fenêtre, ni dans des endroits où la température
est inférieure à -55 °C.
Retirez les piles lorsque vous stockez l’adaptateur pendant de longues durées. Vériez le
fonctionnement de l’unité après avoir remplacé les piles.
7. NETTOYAGE / MISE AU REBUT
Nettoyez l’adaptateur au savon et à l’eau tiède. Remarque : ne le plongez pas dans de l’eau ou
d’autres liquides.

Adapter WS5
Der Adapter WS5 entspricht den Bestimmungen in der Richtlinie für Funkanlagen und

2. GEBRAUCH/FUNKTIONEN
2:1 Ein- und Ausschalten des Adapters
Zum Ein- oder Ausschalten des Adapters die Taste On/Off/Mode (A:1) zwei Sekunden lang drücken.
2:2 Bluetooth
Der Adapter kann mit Bluetooth-Geräten synchronisiert und verbunden werden, die ein
Bluetooth-Headset und/oder -Handsfree-Prole unterstützen.
Die PTT-Funktion über das Bluetooth-Protokoll ist kompatibel mit WS2-, WS3- und WS5-
Headsets von Peltor.
Synchronisation
• Das Headset, mit dem eine Verbindung aufgebaut werden soll, gemäß der
Bedienungsanleitung des Headsets in den Synchronisationsmodus bringen.
• Kontrollieren, ob der Adapter aufgeladen und ausgeschaltet ist.
• Die Taste On/Off/Mode (A:1) fünf Sekunden lang drücken. Sobald der Adapter im
Synchronisationsmodus ist, beginnt die Taste On/Off/Mode (A:1) schnell zu blinken.
• Der Adapter sucht nun nach Peltor-Headsets und baut zum ersten, das er ndet, eine
Verbindung auf. Wenn er innerhalb von 30 Sekunden kein Peltor-Headset ndet, sucht der
Adapter stattdessen nach anderen Headsets.
• Wenn die Synchronisation erfolgreich erfolgt und eine Verbindung zum Headset hergestellt
ist, blinkt die Taste On/Off/Mode (A:1) alle drei Sekunden zwei Mal.
2:3 Benutzermenü
Das Benutzermenü wird durch Drücken der Taste On/Off/Mode (A:1) aufgerufen, wenn das
Gerät eingeschaltet und mit einem Headset verbunden ist. Menübefehle werden vom Adapter
über das Bluetooth-Protokoll gesendet und sind als Sprachmitteilungen im angeschlossenen
Headset zu hören.

Das Menü enthält folgende Optionen:

werkseitigen Standardeinstellungen rückgestellt, und alle synchronisierten Geräte werden
gelöscht.
Die Rückstellung auf die werkseitigen Standardeinstellungen kann auch vorgenommen werden,
ohne das Menü aufzurufen. Dazu drückt man beide Tasten 10 Sekunden lang, bis sich der
Adapter wieder ausschaltet.
3. ANDERE FUNKTIONEN
• Beim Ausschalten des Adapters werden jeweils die letzten Einstellungen gespeichert.
• Die Sprachmitteilung „adapter low battery“ und ein rotes Blinken der Taste On/Off/Mode (A:1)
weisen darauf hin, dass die Batteriekapazität nachlässt.
• Digitale Geräuschreduzierung und Echounterdrückung bei eingehenden Audiosignalen.
• Flugzeugerkennung mit Meldung an Pilot und Peltor-Headset.
4. WICHTIGE ANWENDERINFORMATION
• Dieser Adapter kann durch bestimmte chemische Stoffe beeinträchtigt werden. Weitere
Informationen können beim Hersteller angefordert werden.
• Wenn die Verzerrung zunimmt oder die Lautstärke zu schwach wird, die Batterien
auaden oder austauschen. Batterien niemals bei eingeschalteter Elektronik einlegen
oder austauschen. Vor der Benutzung des Geräts kontrollieren, ob die Batteriepole korrekt
ausgerichtet sind.
• Den Adapter nicht mit eingelegten Batterien aufbewahren.
• Bei extremer Kälte sollte der Adapter vor Gebrauch angewärmt werden.
• Die Leistung kann sich mit der Batteriebetriebsdauer verschlechtern.
• Betriebstemperatur: -20 °C bis +55 °C.

unter –55 °C aufbewahren.
Wenn der Adapter längere Zeit aufbewahrt werden soll, die Batterien herausnehmen. Nach dem
Batteriewechsel die Funktionen testen.
7. REINIGUNG/ENTSORGUNG
Das Produkt mit Seife und warmem Wasser reinigen. Bitte beachten! Nicht in Wasser oder
andere Flüssigkeit tauchen!

• Controllare che l’adattatore sia carico e spento.
• Tenere premuto il pulsante On/Off/Mode (A:1) per 5 secondi. L'adattatore entra in modalità
di sincronizzazione e il pulsante On/Off/Mode (A:1) inizia a lampeggiare rapidamente.
• L'adattatore inizia a cercare headset Peltor e si collega al primo che trova. Se non trova
headset Peltor entro 30 secondi, inizia a cercare headset di altre marche.
• Al termine della sincronizzazione, quando l'headset è collegato, il pulsante On/Off/Mode
(A:1) lampeggia due volte ogni 3 secondi.
2:3 Menu utente
Si accede al menu utente premendo il pulsante On/Off/Mode (A:1) quando il dispositivo è
acceso e collegato a un headset. I comandi del menu saranno inviati dall'adattatore tramite il

Il menu presenta le seguenti opzioni:
Automatic power off (spegnimento automatico)
• Off (la funzione di spegnimento automatico è disabilitata)
• 2 hours (spegnimento automatico dopo 2 ore)
• 8 hours (spegnimento automatico dopo 8 ore)
Battery type (tipo di batterie)
Qui è possibile specicare il tipo di batteria
• Alkaline (alcalina)
• Rechargeable (ricaricabile)
Reset to factory default (ripristino delle impostazioni predenite)
Le impostazioni predenite si ripristinano tenendo premuto il pulsante Bluetooth (A:2) per 2
secondi in questo punto del menu. L'operazione ripristina tutte le impostazioni predenite e
cancella tutti i dispositivi sincronizzati.
È possibile ripristinare le impostazioni predenite senza accedere al menu. A tal ne, tenere
premuti entrambi i pulsanti per 10 secondi nché l'adattatore non si rispegne.
3. ALTRE FUNZIONI
• Allo spegnimento dell'adattatore vengono memorizzate le ultime impostazioni.
• L'esaurimento delle batterie è indicato da un messaggio vocale: “adapter low battery”
(batteria adattatore scarica) e il pulsante On/Off/Mode (A:1) lampeggia in rosso.
• Riduzione digitale del rumore e cancellazione dell'eco sull'audio in ingresso.
• Rilevamento aeromobile con notica a pilota e headset Peltor.
4. INFORMAZIONI IMPORTANTI PER L’UTENTE
• L'adattatore può essere intaccato da diverse sostanze chimiche. Contattare il produttore
per maggiori informazioni.
• Quando la distorsione aumenta o il volume diventa troppo basso, è giunto il momento di
ricaricare o sostituire le batterie. Non sostituire o inserire mai le batterie con l’unità accesa.
Accertarsi che le batterie siano inserite correttamente prima di utilizzare il prodotto.
• Non conservare l'adattatore per periodi prolungati senza aver rimosso le batterie.
• A temperature estremamente rigide, riscaldare l'adattatore prima dell'uso.
• Le prestazioni possono diminuire di pari passo all’uso della batteria.
• Temperatura di esercizio: Da -20°C a +55°C.

5:1 Tipo di batterie
Possono essere utilizzati tutti i tipi di batterie tipo AA da 1,2–1,5 V (NiMH, NiCd, alcaline, litio,

5:2 Autonomia delle batterie
L'autonomia delle batterie può variare in base alla marca delle batterie e alla temperatura
di utilizzo dell'adattatore. L'esaurimento delle batterie è indicato da un messaggio vocale:
“adapter low battery” (batteria adattatore scarica).
Quando la batteria è scarica, le funzioni dell’adattatore sono ridotte.
L'autonomia tipica di 2 batterie alcaline di tipo AA è di 29 ore.

6. CONSERVAZIONE
Non conservare l'adattatore a temperature superiori a +55°C, ad esempio vicino a una nestra
o al parabrezza. Non conservare l'adattatore a temperature inferiori a –55°C.
Rimuovere le batterie in caso di inutilizzo prolungato dell'adattatore. Vericare il funzionamento
dell'unità dopo la sostituzione delle batterie.
7. PULIZIA/SMALTIMENTO
Pulire regolarmente il prodotto con sapone e acqua tiepida. Nota! Non immergere in acqua o
altri liquidi.
Questo prodotto è conforme alla Direttiva 2002/96/CE sui riuti di apparecchiature elettriche
ed elettroniche (RAEE) ed è riciclabile. Smaltire il prodotto nel rispetto della legislazione
nazionale. Smaltire le parti elettroniche nel rispetto del sistema di riciclaggio locale.
