from an outlet. Do not use with

Always follow basic safety
precautions and use as
described in this manual.
Always use indoors, for
household use only.
Always unplug from outlet when
not in use, before putting on and
taking off parts, and before

product unattended whilst

Safety Instructions

Always keep hair, clothing,
fingers, and all parts of the body
clear of moving parts.
Always turn off the mixer before
cleaning any part of the
appliance.
Always allow the product to cool
for a minimum of 1 minute if it
has been used at full load for 3
minutes.
Always ensure that the
maximum operating time does
not exceed 10 minutes at a time
without a rest. Allow to cool for
a minimum of 1 minute before
continuing use.
Always ensure the mixer is used
on a dry surface with dry hands.
Do not use on wet surfaces or
with wet hands.

Never close a door on the cord,
pull the cord around sharp
corners or edges, or expose cord
to heated surfaces.
Never pick up anything that is
flammable, burning or smoking.
Never undo the casing, put
objects into openings or remove
internal parts from the appliance.
Never use stand mixer if it has
been dropped, damaged, left
outdoors, or dropped in water.
Never operate the mixer when
the bowl is empty or remove the
bowl before the attachments
come to a complete stop.
Never touch the whisk, dough
hook or insert any object, such as
knives, forks, spoons, etc. into the
bowl while the mixer is in
operation.

Attaching the mixing bowl
Note: The mixing arm is sprung and will need
guiding with your hand when releasing.
Press and hold the “Push” button to release the
mixing arm.
Assembly
Important: Before assembling/disassembling any attachments, make sure that
the stand mixer is unplugged and the speed control dial is set to “0”.
Before using your stand mixer
Remove all packaging and lay out the separate components.
Check the product after unpacking for any visual damage such as:
•Misaligned or damaged parts
•Damage to the main body and separate components
•Damage to the cord or plug.
If you can see any damage do not use the stand mixer and refer to page 17.
Attaching the splash guard
Place the splash guard into the top of the mixing
bowl with the spout at the front of the mixer.
Push down to secure.
Note: The splash guard helps prevent contents from spilling
out of the bowl. To remove, simply lift the guard from the
bowl. The splash guard is not dishwasher safe, wash by
hand in warm soapy water.
Place the mixing bowl onto the base and turn
the mixing bowl in a clockwise direction until it
is secure on the base.
Note: To remove the bowl, turn it in an
anticlockwise direction and lift off.

Assembly
Choosing an attachment (Not dishwasher safe, wash in warm soapy water only)
Attachment Use
Mixing blade
For normal to heavy
mixtures, such as cakes, biscuits
and mash potatoes.
Whisk
For air incorporated mixtures, such as
eggs/egg
whites, meringues and double/whipping cream.
Dough Hook
For
yeast mixtures, such as breads and pizza dough.
Connecting the attachment
Line up the square space of the attachment chosen with the metal part of the
blade connector, then gently push the attachment up into the connector and
rotate the attachment anticlockwise until it is securely in place.
Note: The splash guard may obstruct the mixing arm, ensure the spout is at the
front of the mixer.
Removing the attachment
Press and hold the “Push button” to release the mixing arm, guiding with your hand.
Twist the attachment clockwise until it detaches and remove.

Operating the Stand Mixer
Step 1
Press and hold the “Push” button to release the
mixing arm
Note: The mixing arm is sprung and will need
guiding with your hand when releasing.
Step 2
Put the required ingredients in the bowl.
Place the mixing bowl onto the base of the stand
mixer and turn the bowl in a clockwise direction
until secure.
Step 3
Line up the square space of the attachment chosen
with the metal part of the blade connector, then gently
push the attachment up into the connector and rotate
the attachment anticlockwise until it is securely in
place.
Step 4
Add your ingredients as per the recipe being used.
Lower the mixing arm by holding down the “Push”
button and using your spare hand to push the mixing
arm gently downwards.
Step 5
Check that the speed selection dial is on “0” and
then insert the plug into a socket and switch the
power supply on.

Step 6
Turn the speed selection dial to the required speed
setting to start mixing.
Refer to ‘Speed control guidelines” on page 10 for
more information on which speed to use.
Step 7
When you have finished using the stand mixer,
turn the speed dial to “0”, turn the power supply
off and unplug the plug from the socket.
Important: This product features an automatic safety feature where the mixer will
cut-off (i.e. stop mixing) after 10 minutes of continuous use. Allow to cool for a
minimum of 1 minute before continuing use.
Disassembly
•Ensure that the stand mixer is switched off and unplugged.
•To remove the bowl, press and hold the “Push” button to release the mixing
arm, guiding with your hand. Twist the bowl anticlockwise until it detaches
and lift to remove.
•To remove the splash guard, simply lift the guard away from the bowl.
•To remove an attachment from the blade connector, twist the attachment
clockwise until it detaches and remove.
•The stand mixer is now ready for cleaning, refer to page 12 for cleaning and
care instructions.

Speed Controls and Tips
Converting your recipe for the stand mixer
The mixing instructions/recipes found in this manual can be used to convert your
recipes for use with your Abode stand mixer.
The speed control section above is only a guideline - you will need to judge the
mixture yourself in line with the recipe being used.

Tips
Cake mixes
For preparation of packaged cake mixes, use speed 3 for medium speed and 5 for
high speed. Follow time directions stated on the packaging.
Adding nuts/raisins
Solid foods should be folded in the last few moments of mixing on Speed 1. To
prevent the fruit/nuts from sinking during baking, ensure the batter is thick enough
and dust sticky fruits with flour for better distribution.
Liquid mixtures
Mixtures with a large volume of liquid should be mixed on lower speeds to prevent
splashing. Once the mixture has thickened then the speed can be increased. Here it
is recommended to use the splash guard to reduce spillages.

Tips
Dough/Bread mixtures
Note: There will be some movement in the mixing arm and hinge when mixing
heavy dough.
Always use the dough hook.
Use speed 1 or 2 to mix or knead yeast dough.
Do not exceed 1kg of dough.
Whipping egg whites or cream
Always use the whisk attachment.
Start on a high speed setting (4)
Gradually increase to the highest speed setting (6).
Mix for up to 4 minutes or until the egg whites are stiff.
A recipe guide has been provided in the stand mixer product box.
Important: Do not exceed 10 minutes continuous mixing time as this product
features safety cut-off.
Allow to cool for a minimum of one minute before continuing use.

Cleaning and Care
Before you clean the appliance, ensure that the speed selection dial is set to
“0” and disconnect the mains plug from the wall socket.
Allow the stand mixer to cool before cleaning it.
To clean the exterior of the product, use a damp, soft cloth and mild
detergent.
NEVER IMMERSE THE STAND MIXER IN WATER.
The dough beater, whisk attachment, mixer blade and splash guard are not
dishwasher safe. These attachments should only be cleaned in warm water
and washing-up liquid.
The mixing bowl is dishwasher safe.
The bowl can also be cleaned in warm water and washing-up liquid.
If the stand mixer is damaged, discontinue use and contact the customer
service helpline.

1. To release, press in and hold the ‘PUSH’ button on
the front of the stand mixer, guiding the mixing arm
upwards with your hand. To lower the mixing arm,
press and hold the ‘PUSH’ button, guiding the arm down
with your hand until it is securely in place and the
‘PUSH’ button is protruding outwards.
2. Difficult to
attach/remove mixing
bowl.
2. To attach the mixing bowl, place it onto the base
located to the left of the ‘PUSH’ button and turn
clockwise until secure. To remove, turn anticlockwise
and the bowl should release ready to lift off.
3. Difficult to
attach/remove splash
guard.
3. Make sure the mixing arm is released. To attach the
splash guard to the mixing bowl, ensure the spout is
facing upwards/towards yourself, not in the path of the
mixing arm and place into the top of the bowl, pushing
gently downwards around the edges to secure. To
remove, pull the splash guard upwards and it should
detach easily.
4. Difficult to
insert/remove
attachment.
4. Make sure the mixing arm is released. It may help to
remove the splash guard. Line up the square space in
the top of the attachment with the protruding piece of
metal on the blade connector. Push the attachment up
into the springs and rotate anticlockwise until it secures
into place. To remove, simply turn the attachment
clockwise and the attachment should easily release.
The stand mixer
will not run/has
stopped working
1. There is no power
to the appliance.
1a. The appliance may not be plugged into the electrical
socket correctly. Ensure the plug is pushed in securely
and that the switch is on.
1b. The speed dial on the front of the appliance is set to
‘0’. Turn the speed dial to the required speed setting.
1c. The electrical socket may not be working properly.
Check the fuse and breakers or consult an electrician.
1d. The power cord may be damaged. If it is it must be
replaced by the manufacturer or similarly qualified
person. Contact customer services using details at the
end of this section.
1e. The product has over-heated through use. Unplug
and allow to cool for a minimum of one minute before
continuing use.

For UK use only –Plug fitting details (where applicable):
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this appliance may not
correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your
plug, proceed as follows:
The BLUE wire is the NEUTRAL and must be connected to
the terminal marked with the letter N or coloured BLACK.
The BROWN wire is the LIVE wire and must be connected to
the terminal marked with the letter L or coloured RED.
Always ensure that the plug cord grip is fastened correctly.
If a13A(BS1363) fused plug is used it must be fitted with a
13amp fuse conforming to BS1362 and be BSI or ASTA approved.
