Operation
The IP Camera will capture video in the following
situation:
1. When an alarm is activated by the abode system, the
streaming Camera will capture a 10 sec video clip.
2. When the user manually request a video using the
abode web or mobile app.
The length of captured video is 10 seconds, with 2 seconds
of video showing pre-alarm/activation

Indentifying the Components

Preparing to pair the streaming camera to the abode gateway
1. Remove the camera, power transformer, and ethernet cable from the box
2. Plug one end of the ethernet cable into a spare port on your router, and the other end into the
back of the camera. (The ethernet cable is used to register your camera, add it to the gateway,
and, to set it up to communicate with your wireless Wi-Fi router.)
3. Insert the power transformer connector into the back of the camera and plug the transformer
into an AC outlet.
4. Next you will use your abode web or mobile app to pair the streaming camera with the gateway,
once this is accomplished you will be able to stream live video from the web and mobile app.

When pairing the streaming camera with the abode gateway, we recommend using the abode mobile
app, or web app. They both use similar screens for this process.
Below are screenshots from the mobile app during the pairing process.
Log-into the app, click on the settings button located on the bottom right of the screen, click on Add a
New device. Select Streaming Camera, and follow the instructions on each screen.

Once you have setup the Wi-Fi router settings and
completed the naming of the streaming camera, un-plug
the power and ethernet cables from the camera and
relocate the camera to the desired location and power up
the camera using its transformer.
Allow a full 1 or 2 minutes for the camera to boot-up and
connect to your Wi-Fi router.

To pair the camera with the abode gateway using the WPS button:
Once the streaming camera has been registered and working with the mobile and web app over the
ethernet connection, disconnect the ethernet and power down the camera.
1. Power up the camera, (Ethernet cable is not needed)
2. Locate the WPS button on your abode streaming camera (reference #6 on the first page)
3. Locate the WPS button on your wireless router. (refer to your routers user guide for this
location)
4. Press and hold in the WPS button on the streaming camera for about 2 seconds
5. Press and hold in the WPS button on your wireless router (for about 2 seconds , refer to your
routers user guide for this information)
6. The red Wi-Fi transmission LED on the face of the streaming camera will flash for 5 seconds
when the WPS protocol is activated (This pairing mode is active for 2 minutes). The red Wi-Fi
transmission LED will flash for 3 seconds again to indicate the connection to the wireless router
is successful.

Testing the Streaming Camera
•Insure that you can view live streaming video from both the abode web and mobile app.
•Test the request to record a video clip on the Web and mobile app.
Web App Mobile app
In the event that your unable to complete the process of setting up your Wi-Fi router with the
streaming camera, there is a WPS option on the camera. To use the auto Wi-Fi setup using the WPS
feature, your wireless router must also have the WPS feature.
Streaming camera LEDS when powering up the camera .
1. The green power LED will light up when power is on
2. Blue LED will be: On when connected to internet(wired or wireless), Off when disconnected from
internet
3. Red LED will flash for 3 seconds while it’s connecting to the internet router
4. Once boot-up is complete, only the green and blue LED’s will stay on. If the red LED stays on , then
the camera is not connected to the internet.
If you are unable to connect your streaming camera to your wireless internet, follow one of the 3
options below.
1. WPS option: You can Use the WPS option if your Wi-Fi router has the WPS feature. (See
installation guide above)
2. Attempt to content to your Wi-FIi router: Log into your abode web app (my.goabode.com) On
the system menu, left side of the screen, click on account and choose System Settings, use the
streaming camera Wi-Fi setup tools.
3. Delete the streaming camera from the web App: and perform the Paring process again found
on page 3 of this guide
