Starting Setup Menu
In order to configure the system, Main Menu must be activated.
Main Menu is activated by pressing the right button of the mouse.
Main Menu will pop up at the bottom left side of the screen.
To enter the set up menu, “Main Menu” button must be clicked.
Main Menu
System, device, record, network, event setup is possible and only
administrator can do this. This item needs very careful control due
to its status of system operation
Search
Recorded data can be searched by various type such as calendar
search/motion search/event search)
Back Up
Backup is possible to CD/DVD-RW and external USB backup
device.
Digital PTZ
Zoom In/Out and movement is possible for the surveillance screen.
Freeze
Freeze function for the surveillance screen for the temporary period
of time.
Dynamic PTZ
Zoom In/Out/movement/focus control are possible for the
surveillance screen when PTZ module is connected.

System Menu Structure
Left diagram shows the menu
structure of the system.
In this section we will describe
“Main Menu” items: System,
Device, Record and Network.

System Setup
There are specific function items
such as information, time setup,
disk manager, user account,
factory default, log off, shut down
in the system window.
Information
Information such as system
name, remote controller setup,
language system version, video
signal type can be obtained or
changed in the system setup.
System name:
Virtual keyboard is appeared when selecting the left button of mouse in the system
name input window and system name can be modified.
When system name is input, up to 18 letters are shown. Max.48 letters can be input.
System ID (Remote Controller ID)
Remote controller ID is used when remote controller ID is needed to change & setup.
ID can be set between 0~99. Initial ID of the system is 0. This ID is to connect DVR
system and remote controller by one to one relation.

Language Selection
Select system language and when factory default item is selected, English is selected.
Version
Show version information of system operation program
There are main version and sub version. The first 2 numbers are main version and the
last 4 numbers are sub version.
Signal Type
Signal type is shown for TV Video standard based on the region it belongs and this
signal type is changed by NTSC/PAL switch in the back panel.
Warning: When signal type is changed, the system must be rebooted.
Time Setup
Menu for setting system time,
holidays and synchronizing
system time with time server.
Time Zone
Select time zone (use scrolling button).
Date Format
Set date and time display format used by the system. (Use scrolling button).
Date Time Format: YY : year MM : month DD : day of month

Time
Set current time
Error will occur when time and date is changed with “time sync” checked. (See “Time Sync”
tab.) Recorded data will be overwritten with new data if time is set backward.
Holiday Setup
Set holidays.
On listed holidays, the holiday
recording schedule will be
applied.
See “recording schedule” set
up.
Adding Holidays
1. Select holiday date in the calendar .
Select month using arrow button(◀, ▶) in the date selection window(◀
2007/4 ▶).
Gray colored dates are non holidays.
Red colored date is the current date selected.
Blue colored dates are registered as holidays.

3. Verify registered holidays .
Max. 10 holidays can be registered.

1. Select a holiday to be changed in the holiday list .
Selected date is shown in white color.
2. Select new date to register in the calendar .
3. Change holiday by selecting button
Holiday Deletion
1. Select a holiday to delete in the list .
2. Delete selected holiday by selecting button.
Time Sync
Time Sync ensures that DVR
system time is always correct.
If “Automatic Sync” is
selected and DVR is
connected to a network, DVR
will retrieve current time from
a time server and updates the
system time automatically.
Enabling / Disabling Automatic Time Synchronization
1. Check checkbox in front of automatic sync item .
;Automatic sync / No automatic sync
2. Input time server IP .
3. Select the interval time for the time sync from the time server .
Time server default value is time.nist.gov.

Disk Manager
Data recording and backup
devices are managed in disk
manager.
All recognized recording
devices, such as HDD, CDRW,
DVDRW, and USB Drives are
listed.
Devices that are not recognized by the system are not listed.
All devices must be formatted before use.
Device Information
1) Select a device (;).
Total size, free space, device type, device usage information are displayed.
Internal HDD
CD/DVD RW:
Total size is 0, if no CD/DVD disk is in the drive.
Format is available if disk is reusable.
USB
MEMORY:

If USB device was formatted using NTFS, when
data is saved, it will be saved in MS DOS file
data format.
2) Format Button
It will format the device.
All data will be lost.
HDD, USB Memory, CD-RW, DVD-RW format is possible.
USB Devices: NTFS format is not supported. Therefore, USB Memory,
USB HDD are formatted by DOS (FAT) up to 32G Bytes
3) Remove Button (Visible when USB device is selected.)
Click on this button before physically detaching (un-plugging USB cable) USB
device.
This safely closes all open files and stops all USB device access operations.
Only after this step has been performed, USB device should be unplugged.
Unplugging USB device without performing this step may leave USB
device at an unknown state. Consequently, the system may hang or
crash from trying to access USB device which is no longer present.

Factory Default
Do not reset to factory defaults, unless it is absolutely necessary.
Factory default function reset all
environment variables to original

System Shutdown
This function allow the system to
turn itself off graceful. Use this
feature if
•System needs to turned off for
service.
•System needs to turned off for
moving.
•System will not longer be used.

Device Setup
Device setup window manages
and setup all devices used in the
system. Device setup function
control camera, audio, alarm and
screen display.
Camera Setup
Camera name, recording frame number, recording image resolution and PTZ function can be
set. Brightness, contrast and color are controlled by color control button.

cameras and recording image
resolution can be set. Also, it is
possible to set full image display
when event occurs for the selected
setup camera.
Select “MANUAL” ( ) and then select a camera (e.g. ) when setting each camera
individually; or
Select “ALL” to set all camera setting at the same time.

occurs.

Select recording image quality
•High: Sharpest image – larger image size
•Medium: Normal – normal expected image size
•Low: Low – smaller image size
Normal image resolution used for CCTV video recording is CIF (320 x 240). The image (size)
resolution can increased to obtain higher quality pictures. However, increasing in image size
(resolution) will decrease number of images the system can process. Refer to the following
table to understand the relationship between image size (resolution) and maximum number of
image which our systems can process (compress).

Dynamic PTZ Setup
There are many types of PTZ
cameras and each communicates
using unique or common protocol.
In this setup, a physical PTZ
camera is assigned to a logical
camera (system’s video channel)
and protocol is identified.
Select camera ( ) in the camera selection window
All cameras are selected if button is selected.
Select when each camera needs to be setup individually.
(Example: Select by the right button of the mouse and setup each camera and select
and confirm OK.)
Activate menu by selecting dynamic PTZ tap
Select the camera that is currently used by selecting PTZ device using scrawl bar button.

Color Setup
Setup the brightness, contrast and saturation for the camera signal per camera.
Setup value is applied to the recording & display mode.
To adjust color for a camera: select the “color control” ( ) tab.

Save environment setup by selecting button
Audio
This system has 4 audio inputs and each audio channel can be associated with a video channel,
allowing video and audio to be recorded together.
Select a camera to associate audio with video.
Select Not Use if audio will not be recorded.
Alarm Setup
This alarm function is used for the setup of event input/output that is available by connecting to
the system. User can setup and use system alarm based on the sensor, motion and video loss
event input.

Sensor alarm is setup by normal close, normal open and sensor input port can be used by
setting video image, output relay terminal and operation time.
Select sensor
•: All cameras are selected if button is selected.
•: Setup is applied to the selected sensors when this manual icon is selected.

•: Enable - Not Used
Setup for the specific information about the sensor/alarm
•Type: Select Normal Open or Normal Close.
•Camera: Select camera channel to connect.
•Relay: Select alarm relay port.
•Dwell: Select alarm operation time
Motion Alarm
Alarm function for the motion detection.
It is possible to use this function by setting video image and the maintenance time of relay
output terminal.
