1 0 INTRODUZIONE / GENERAL
Questo manua e d’istruzioni contiene importanti informazioni re ative
a ’insta azione, a ’uti izzo, a a manutenzione e a o stoccaggio dei BOX ADLER
ASM512.
Leggere queste istruzioni attentamente e conservar e in caso di necessità.
È importante che ’assemb aggio e i disassemb aggio dei BOX sia effettuato so o
da persona e istruito.
This instruction manua contains important informations regarding the insta ation,
operation, maintenance and storage for the ADLER ASM512 BOX.

2 0 ISTRUZIONI PER LA SICUREZZA / WARNING
•Per BOX uti izzati in atmosfera potenzia mente esp osiva, assicurarsi che e
parti interne de BOX non vengano mai in contatto con ’atmosfera esterna.
•L’uti izzo de BOX a di fuori de range di temperatura previsto può
danneggiare componenti interni ed esterni
•L’uti izzo de box in ambiente corrosivo senza adeguate protezioni può
danneggiare componenti interni ed esterni.
•Non rimuovere nessun componente quando i box è in funzione.
•Prima de ’insta azione su una va vo a o su un attuatore, assicurarsi che
’orientamento de ’indicatore di posizione sia corretto.
•Se i box è incorporato in un impianto, ’acquirente deve assicurarsi che
vengano rispettate e normative di sicurezza vigenti.
•Non toccare i box quando è co egato a ’impianto.
•Assicurasi che e caratteristiche de co egamento e ettrico siano compatibi i
con i parametri e ettrici di funzionamento de box.
•Assicurarsi che i box sia co egato a a messa a terra tramite ’apposita vite.
•Verificare a posizione de e cammes prima di mettere in funzione i box.
•Assicurarsi che i pressacavi siano ben avvitati per evitare infi trazioni
a ’interno de box.
•Assicurarsi che e viti di unione de a scato a box e de coperchio siano serrati
a fondo e che ’Oring di tenuta sia in posizione corretta.
•Assicurarsi che i cavi e ettrici siano ben serrati e comp etamente inseriti
a ’interno de a morsettiera ed evitare che ci sia de materia e conduttore non
iso ato.
•Rispettare o schema di co egameto dei cavi e ettrici come indicato su a parte
interna de coperchio e riportato a paragrafo 6 de presente documento.
•In caso di rimozione de ’indicatore esterno, assicurasi che ’Oring di tenuta sia
posizionato correttamente.
•For use BOX in potentia y exp osive atmosphere, make sure that the inside of
the box never come in contact with the outer atmosphere.
•The use of the box outside the expected range of temperature can damage
interna or externa components.
•The use of boxes in corrosive environment without adequate protection can
damage interna or externa components.
•Do not remove any component when the box is running.
•Before insta ation on a va ve or an actuator, make sure that the orientation of
the indicator position is correct.
•If the box is bui t in a p ant, the buyer must ensure that you comp y with
safety regu ations in force.
•Do not touch the box when it is connected to the p ant.
•Ensure that the characteristics of the e ectrica connections are compatib e
with the e ectrica parameters of operation of the box.
•Make sure the box is connected to ground by the screw.
•Check the position of the cam before you operate the box.
•Make sure the cab e are secure y screwed to prevent infi tration inside the
box.
•Make sure the screws merge box and the id of the box are tightened and that
the Oring sea is in correct p ace.
•Make sure e ectrica cords are secure y ocked and fu y inserted into the
termina and ensure that there aren’t materia s non-insu ated conductor.
•Observe the pattern became interrupted e ectrica cab es as indicated on the
inside of the cover and at paragraph 6 of this document.
•In case of remova of the externa y, ensure that the Oring sea is positioned
correct y

•Temperatura operativa
I range di temperatura operativa per i box è -20 °C < T < +50°C.
•Tempi operativi
La ve ocità di movimento dipende da a ve ocità di movimento de a va vo a o
de ’attuatore su cui è insta ato i box.
•Lubrificazione
Tutte e parti in movimento de box vengono consegnate ubrificate a vita.
•Costruzione
I box ADLER ASM è progettato e costruito per app icazione sia interna che
esterna.
•Marcatura
I tipo di box, a c asse di protezione, i tipo di finecorsa, i vo taggio uti izzabi e
sono indicati su box stesso.
•Connessioni
Foratura inferiore per accoppiamento su va vo a o attuatore, secondo norme ISO
5211/DIN 3337. Doppia foratura fi ettata M20x1,5. Morsettiera mu tip a a 8
ingressi.
•Collaudo
Ogni singo o box viene testato a momento in cui viene assemb ato.
•Operating Voltage:
AC: 250V 15A, 125V 15A.
DC: 250V 0.3A, 125V 0.6A.
•Operating temperature
The operating temperature range for the box is -20 °C < T < +50 °C.
•Operating time
The speed of movement depends on the speed of movement of the va ve or
actuator is insta ed on the box.
•Lubrication
A moving parts in the boxes are de ivered ubricated or ife.

The box ADLER ASM is designed and bui t for interna and externa app ications.

The type of box, protection c ass, type of imit switches and vo tage used are

4 0 ISTRUZIONI DI INSTALLAZIONE DEL BOX / BOX INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
I BOX ADLER ASM512 è un apparecchio e ettrico per i contro o remoto di va vo e
industria i.
Tutte e informazioni tecniche necessarie per ’insta azione corretta e sicura de
BOX su a va vo a o su ’attuatore (vo taggi, schema co egamenti e ettrici, tipo di
connessioni, temperatura di uti izzo, grado di protezione) sono chiaramente
indicate ne a scheda tecnica de BOX ASM512 e a ’interno de presente manua e.
Leggere attentamente e informazioni tecniche seguenti prima di procedere con
’insta azione de BOX.
IMPORTANTI INFORMAZIONI DI SICUREZZA:
I BOX non deve essere co egato e ettricamente durante ’insta azione.
Durante a connessione de BOX ASM512con ’impianto di a imentazione e ettrica
assicurarsi che a tensione nei fi i di co egamento sia assente.
Prima de fissaggio de BOX ASM512 su attuatore o su va vo a, accertarsi che
entrambi siano correttamente a ineati in funzione de senso di rotazione
richiesto.
CONTROLLI E CONNESSIONI:
I BOX, su a faccia inferiore, presenta una foratura a norme ISO 5211 (DIN
3337), per i fissaggio de BOX su a va vo a o su ’attuatore tramite a staffa di
fissaggio.
I BOX ADLER ASM512 ha due forature M20x1,5 per a connessione dei pressa
cavi.
La trasmissione de movimento da ’attuatore o de a va vo a a BOX ASM512
avviene mediante accoppiamento meccanico.
BOX ADLER ASM512 is an e ectrica device for remote contro of industria va ves.
A the technica information necessary for proper insta ation and safe box on the
va ve or actuator (vo tage, wiring diagram, type of connections, operating
temperature, degree of protection) are c ear y indicated in the datasheet of BOX
ASM512 and inside of this manua .
Carefu y read the fo owing technica information before proceeding with the
insta ation of the BOX.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATIONS:
The BOX must not be e ectrica y connected during insta ation.
When connecting the BOX ASM512 with the e ectrica supp y system to ensure
that the tension in the wire connection is absent.
Before mounting the box ASM512 on the actuator or va ve, make sure that both
are correct y a igned according to the direction of rotation required.
CONTROLS AND CONNECTIONS:
The BOX, on the ower side, has a ho e to ISO 5211 (DIN 3337), for attaching the
box on the va ve or actuator with bracket.
BOX ADLER ASM512 has two ho es M20x1,5 for connection of the press wires.
The transmission of the actuator or va ve movement at the box ASM512 is through
mechanica coup ing.

Tramite e informazioni sotto riportate, Ad er S.p.A. fornisce a ’uti izzatore fina e
tutte e informazioni necessarie per una corretta e sicura manutenzione.
La manutenzione dei BOX Ad er S.p.A. è permessa so o a persona e Ad er S.p.A.
o a persona e che sia stato opportunamente istruito.
Ogni inosservanza comporterà il decadimento della garanzia!
Per un buon funzionamento de BOX e per garantirne una unga durata, si
consig ia un piano di manutenzione da effettuare tra 300.000 e 500.000 manovre
per verificare o stato di usura di O-Ring di tenuta. In caso di usura avanzata si
procederà a a sostituzione.
I BOX ASM512 deve essere uti izzato nei imiti stabi i da e caratteristiche de
BOX stesso: in caso di condizioni di uti izzo gravose si consig ia di intensificare e
operazioni di contro o de e condizione deg i O-Ring di tenuta e de a
manutenzione.

Maintenance BOX Ad er S.p.A. is a owed on y to staff Ad er S.p.A. or staff who has
been proper y trained.
Any failure to comply will lead to invalidation of the warranty!
For the smooth running of the BOX and to ensure a ong ife, we recommend a
maintenance p an to be carried out between 300,000 and 500,000 operations to
check the wear of O-ring sea . When worn wi proceed to the advanced
rep acement.
BOX ASM512 must be used within the imitations of the characteristics of the box
itse f: in case of severe conditions of use shou d be intensified their contro of the

SMONTAGGIO / DISASSEMBLY
•Eseguire o smontaggio de box SOLO ED ESCLUSIVAMENTE DOPO AVER
TOLTO LA TENSIONE
•Disconnettere i Box da a va vo a o da ’attuatore e sco egare i cavi e ettrici
da a morsettiera e da a messa a terra.
Rimozione de ’indicatore esterno (21)
•Rimuovere e viti TPSC M4x8 (22) e O-Ring di tenuta (20)
Rimozione de ’indicatore interno (19)
•So evare ’indicatore (19) senza forzare ’accoppiamento di forma con i
perno (24)
Rimozione de coperchio BOX (15)
•Svitare e viti TCCC M6x20 (18) e e ronde e (17)
•Tenendo fermo i corpo (4) ruotare e tirare eggermente i coperchio (15)
avendo cura di non deformare i perno de ’indicatore (24)
ATTENZIONE: Durante e fasi di smontaggio, è possibi e che ’O-Ring di tenuta
de corpo (23) esca da a propria sede. È necessario verificare che esso sia ne a
propria sede in fase di montaggio, in quanto ’errato posizionamento de ’O-Ring
può provocare ma funzionamenti de Box.
Rimozione de a morsettiera (26)
•Rimuovere e viti TCCC M2,5x12 (25).
Rimozione dei finecorsa (6)
•Rimuovere e viti TCCC M2,5x40 (9), e ronde e (8) e i distanzia i (7)
Rimozione de perno (24)
•Rimuovere ’ane o e astico (1) con ’apposita pinza a becchi.
•Estrarre i perno (24) facendo attenzione a non danneggiare g i O-Ring (5)
Rimozione de a camme (12) e (14)
•Estrarre i perni di fissaggio bocco e (10)
•Sfi are e bocco e rotazione camme (11), prestando attenzione a ’estensione
de a mo a di fissaggio (13)
•Rimuovere e camme (12) e (14)
•Disassemb y the box ONLY AFTER THE CURRENT SUPPLY HAS BEEN
INTERRUPTED
•Disconnect the Box from the va ve or from the actuator and disconnect the
e ectric wiring from the mu tipoint strip termina and from the grounding.
Outer indicator remova (21)
•Remove the screws M4x8 TPSC (22) and the sea ing O-Ring (20)
Inner indicator remova (19)
•Lift the indicator (19) without forcing the shape matching with the shaft
(24).
Box Cover remova (15)
•Remove the screws M6x20 TCCC (18) and the washers (17)
•Maintaining fixed the body (4), rotate and pu s ight y the cover (15), paying
attention to not deforming the shaft (24)
WARNING: During the disassemb y, it’s possib e that the sea ing body O-Ring
(23) come out from its seat. Is necessary to check, during the assemb y, that the
O-Ring is in the proper position, since a wrong O-Ring position cou d invo ve in a
ma function of the box.
Mu tipoint termina strip remova (26)
•Remove the screws TCCC M2,5x12 (25).
Limit-switches remova (6)
•Remove the screws TCCC M2,5x40 (9), the washers (8) and the spacers (7)
Shaft remova (24)
•Remove the retaining ring (1) using nap-ring p iers.
•Draw the shaft (24) paying attention to not damaging the O-Rings (5)
Cams remova (12) and (14)
•Draw the cam bushing pins (10)
•Draw the rotationa cam bushings (11), paying attention to the cam fixing
spring (13) extent.
•Remove the cams (12) and (14)
Dopo o smontaggio verificare o stato di usura deg i O-Ring di tenuta (5,20,23),
in caso si renda necessario sostituir i.
After removing check the wear of O-Ring (5,20,23), if it becomes necessary to
rep ace them.
5 1 MONTAGGIO / ASSEMBLY
Assemb aggio de e camme
•Montare a bocco a di rotazione camme (11) e fissar a con i perno di
fissaggio (10), inserire a camme inferiore (12) e a mo a (13).
•Inserire a camme superiore (14) e a seconda bocco a (11) e b occar a con i
perno di fissaggio (10).
FARE ATTENZIONE AL SENSO DI INSERIMENTO DELLE CAMME (VEDI
SCHEMA SOTTORIPORTATO)
Assemb aggio de perno
•Inserire ’ O-Ring (5) ne a re ativo a oggiamento, inserire i perno (24) ne
corpo de BOX esercitando una eggera pressione.
•Inserire ’ane o e astico (1).
Assemb aggio de a morsettiera
•Posizionare a morsettiera (26) in corrispondenza dei fori fi ettati M2,5 ed
inserire e viti TCCC M2,5x12 (25) ed avvitar e a fondo.
Assemb aggio dei finecorsa meccanici
•Eseguire i co egamento dei fi i e ettrici ai finecorsa (6) rispettando posizioni
e co ori come indicato ne o schema di co egamento a paragrafo 6 de
presente documento.
•Posizionare i distanzia i (7) tra i due finecorsa (6) ed inserire e viti TCCC
M2,5x40 (9).
•Posizionare i finecorsa ed avvitare e viti TCCC M2,5x40 (9) a fondo facendo
attenzione a non danneggiare e eve dei finecorsa.
Co egamento e ettrico
•Eseguire i co egamento dei fi i e ettrici a a morsettiera (26) rispettando
posizioni e co ori come indicato ne o schema di co egamento a paragrafo 6.
Co egamento a a messa a terra
•Co egare i fi o de a messa a terra a ’apposita vite (27) munita di ronde a
(28) e avvitare a fondo.
Assemb aggio de coperchio BOX
•Posizionare O-Ring (23) ne a cava ricavata su coperchio (15).
•Avvitare e viti TCCC M6x20 (18) con e ronde e (17) a fondo facendo
attenzione a non danneggiare ’O-Ring di tenuta (23).
Assemb aggio indicatori di posizione
•Posizionare ’indicatore interno (19) facendo attenzione che segna i i
corretto stato de ’assieme (aperto o chiuso).
•Posizionare ’O-Ring di tenuta (20).
•Posizionare ’indicatore esterno (21) facendo attenzione che segna i i
corretto stato de ’assieme e serrare e viti TSPC M4x8 (22) a fondo avendo
cura di non rovinare ’O-Ring di tenuta.
Assemb y of the cam
•Fit the bush rotation cam (11) and secure with the
ocking pin (10), insert the bottom cam (12) and spring (13).
•Insert the top cam (14) and the second bushing (11) and ock with the
ocking pin (10).
TAKE CARE OF THE WAY OF ENTERING CAMS ( SEE THE FOLLOWING
DIAGRAM).
Assemb y pin
•Put the 'O-Ring (5) into the s ot, insert the pin (24) into body BOX with ight
pressure.
•Put the retaining ring (1).
Assemb y of termina strip
•P ace the termina strip (626 near the ho es threaded M2, 5 screws and
insert TCCC M2, 5x12 (25) and tighten them thorough y.
Assemb y of imit switches
•Connect the wires to the imit switches (6) positions and co ors as shown in
the wiring diagram on paragraph 6 of this document.
•P ace the spacers (7) between the imit switches (6) and insert the screws
TCCC M2, 5x40 (9).
•P ace the imit switches and tighten the screw TCCC M2,5x40 (9) without
damaging the evers of the imit switches.
E ectrica connection
•Connect the wires to the termina strip (26) positions and co ors as shown in
the wiring diagram on paragraph 6 .
Connection to ground
•Connect the grounding wire to the appropriate screw (27) equipped with
washer (28) and tighten.
Assemb ing the BOX cover
•P ace O-Ring (23) obtained in the s ot on the cover (15).
•Tighten the screws M6x20 TCCC (18) with washers (17) thorough y taking
care not to damage the O-Ring (23).
Assemb y ocators
•P ace the interna indicator (19) making sure that the correct state assemb y
signa s (open or c osed).
•P ace the O-Ring (20).
•P ace the externa indication (21) making sure that signa s the proper state
assemb y and tighten the screws M4x8 TSPC (22) thorough y taking care not
to damage the O-rings.

•Le camme devono essere inserite ne a posizione corretta
a ’interno de ’a bero (24) per permettere a trasmissione de
moto rotatorio tra ’a bero e e stesse camme, i cui
posizionamento deve far riferimento a a figura qui indicata
(dentatura verso ’a to per a camma superiore rossa (14) e
dentatura verso i basso per a camma inferiore gia a (12).
•Precedentemente a posizionamento de e camme, tra e 2
superfici piane de e 2 deve essere stata inserita a mo a di
contrasto (13)
•Le bocco e zigrinate (11) devono essere inserite esternamente
a a camme, in modo da avere ’accoppiamento tra a dentatura
esterna de a bocco a e que a interna de a camma. Ta e
dentatura permette a rego azione de a posizione re ativa de e
camme rispetto a a rotazione a bero, e quindi ’ango o di
azionamento dei fineocrsa, con incrementi di rego azione pari a
10°
•Le bocco e zigrinate (11) devono essere rese so ida i con a
rotazione de ’a bero (24) mediante i perni (10)
•The cams shou d be assemb ed proper y onto the shaft (24)
ax e, to avoid the transmission movement between the shaft
and the cams themse ves.
The cams position shou d be referred to the diagram here shown
(gears on the upper surface for the top red cam (14) and gears
on the ower surface for the bottom ye ow cam (12)).
•Before the cams positioning, the contrast spring shou d be
inserted between the 2 f at surfaces of the cams.
•The knur ed bushings (11) shou d be assemb ed externa y
respect to the cams, so that is achieved a inkage between the
bushing knur ing(on the externa surface) and the cam knur ing
(on the interna surface). The knur ing teeth a ow the position
adjustment between the cams and the shaft rotation, therefore
the imit switches range activation, with adjustment steps of
10°.
•The knur ed bushings (11) shou d be fixed with the shaft (24)
rotation by the pins (10).

8 0 STOCCAGGIO A MAGAZZINO / STORAGE
Se per i BOX non è previsto un immediato uti izzo, prevedere e seguenti
precauzioni:
•Immagazzinare i BOX in uogo asciutto e temperatura ambiente.
•Non rimuovere i tappi di p astica.
•Eseguire de e rotazioni per evitare ’inco aggio de e guarnizioni di tenuta o
deformazioni permanenti de e guarnizioni.
•A momento de a messa in servizio assicurarsi che a ’interno non si sia
formata umidità.
•A momento de a messa in servizio verificare che i fi i de co egamento
e ettrico siano ancora b occati sia dentro i finecorsa che ne a morsettiera.
If the BOX is not for immediate use, provide the fo owing precautions:
•Store the box in a dry p ace and at room temperature.
•Do not remove the p astic p ugs.
•Perform the rotation to prevent sticking of the sea s or permanent
deformation of the gasket.
•When commissioning ensure that moisture has formed inside it.
•When commissioning check that the wires e ectrica connection are sti stuck
inside the imit-switch in the termina strip.
