Operating Instructions
Safety information
These warnings are provided in the interests of your safety. Ensure that you understand
them all before installing or using the appliance.
Your safety is of paramount importance. If you are unsure about any of the meanings of
these warnings please contact customer care.
Installation
• The appliance must be installed according to the instructions supplied.
• The installation work must be undertaken by a qualified electrician or competent person.
• The appliance should be serviced by an authorised Service Engineer and only genuine
approved spare parts should be used.
• The appliance must be installed in an adequately ventilated room.
• It is imperative that the appliance is left in the base to protect both the appliance and
the floor.
• This appliance is heavy and care must be taken when moving it. Always wear safety
gloves.
• Do not attempt to lift or move this appliance by the handles.
• All packaging, both inside and outside the appliance must be removed before the ap-
pliance is used.
• It is dangerous to alter the specifications or modify the appliance in any way.
Child safety
• Do not allow children to play with any part of the packaging.
• Do not allow children to sit or climb on the drop down doors.
• This appliance is not intended for use by children and other persons whose physical,
sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge prevents them from
using the appliance safely without supervision or instruction by a responsible person to
ensure that they can use the appliance safely.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

During use
WARNING!
Never leave the appliance unattended when the oven door is open.
• This appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate
remote control system.
• This appliance has been designed for domestic use to cook edible foodstuffs only and
must not be used for any other purposes.
• Take great care when heating fats and oils as they will ignite if they become too hot.
• Never place plastic or any other material that may melt in or on the oven.
• Always support the grill pan when it is in the withdrawn or partially withdrawn position.

• Always use oven gloves to remove and place food in the oven.
• During use the appliance becomes hot. Care should be taken to avoid touching the
heating elements inside the oven.
• Ensure that all vents are not obstructed to ensure ventilation of the oven cavity.
• Never line any part of the appliance with foil.
• Always stand back from the appliance when opening the oven door to allow any build
up of steam or heat to release.
• Stand clear when opening the drop down doors. Support the doors using the handles
until fully open.
• Do not place sealed cans or aerosols inside the oven. They may explode if they are heated.
• Ensure that all control knobs are in the OFF position when not in use.
• Do not stand on the appliance or on the open oven doors.
• Do not hang towels, dishcloths or clothes from the appliance or its handles.
• Do not use this appliance if it is in contact with water. Never operate it with wet hands.
Cleaning and maintenance
WARNING!
For hygiene and safety reasons this appliance should be kept clean at all times. A build-up
of fat or other foodstuff could result in a fire especially in the grill pan.
• Do not leave cookware containing foodstuffs, e.g. fat or oil in the appliance in case it is
inadvertently switched on.
• Always allow the appliance to cool before switching off at the wall prior to carrying out
any cleaning/maintenance work.
• Only clean this appliance in accordance with the instructions given in this book.
• Never use steam or high pressure steam cleaners to clean the appliance.

Before first use
Setting the language
1. When the appliance has been connected
to the electrical supply, LANGUAGE MENU
is shown in the display.
2. Use the button to select the desired
language.
3. Confirm selected language with the
button. From now on the texts in the dis-
play appear in the language set.
Setting the clock
The time only has to be set if the appliance is disconnected from the power supply for a
long time.
1. TIME OF DAY lights up In the clock display you see 12.00.
2. Use the or button to set the cur-
rent time.
3. Confirm using the button. The appli-
ance is now ready to use.
It is possible to change the time later using the
SETTINGS MENU - please refer to the relevant
chapter.
Rating plate
This is situated on the front frame of the appliance and can be seen upon opening the door.
Alternatively the rating plate may also be found on the back or top of some models (where
applicable).

The appliance must be protected by a suitably rated fuse or circuit breaker.
The rating of the appliance is given on the rating plate.
WARNING!
Do not remove the rating plate from the appliance as this may invalidate the guarantee.
Preparing to use your appliance
Wipe over the base of the oven(s) with a soft cloth using hot soapy water. Washthe furniture
before use.
We suggest that you run the oven(s) and grill for 10 – 15 minutes at maximum temperature,
to burn off any residue from their surfaces. Accessible parts may become hotter than in
normal use. Children should be kept away. During this period an odor may be emitted, it is
therefore advisable to open a window for ventilation.
The cooling fan
The cooling fan comes on immediately the top oven or grill is switched on. It may run on
after the ovens are switched off until the appliance has cooled. During the cooling down
period the cooling fan may switch on and off.
WARNING!
Always allow the cooling fan to cool the appliance down before switching off the electrical
supply to carry out cleaning or maintenance.
Condensation and steam
When food is heated it produces steam similar to a boiling kettle. The vents allow some of
this steam to escape. However, always stand back from the appliance when opening the
door(s) to allow any build up of steam or heat to release.
If the steam comes into contact with a cool surface on the outside of the appliance, e.g. a
trim, it will condense and produce water droplets. This is quite normal and is not caused
by a fault on the appliance.
To prevent discoloration, regularly wipe away condensation and foodstuff from surfaces.
For your safety wall coverings at the rear of the appliance should be securely fixed to the
wall.
Cookware
Baking trays, dishes etc., should not be placed directly against the grid covering the fan at
the back of the oven.
Do not use baking trays larger than 30cm x 35cm (12” x 14”) as they will restrict the
circulation of heat and may affect performance.
Grill and oven furniture
The following items of grill and oven furniture have been supplied with the appliance. If
you require replacements of any of the items listed below please contact your local service
force centre.
Initial Cleaning
Before using the oven for the first time, you must clean it.

WARNING!
Do not use sharp, abrasive cleaning agents! These could damage the surface.
For metal fronts, use normal commercially available cleaning agents.
1. Open door.
The oven light is activated.
2. Remove all accessories and the slide-in grids and clean with warm water and washing-
up liquid.
3. Wipe the floor of the oven clean with warm washing-up solution and dry.
4. Wipe the front of the appliance with a damp cloth.
5. Insert the oven shelf runners supplied, as described in the chapter ”Cleaning and Care”.
Operation
Oven functions menu
• When you switch the appliance on, you find yourself in the Oven Functions menu.
• Select the desired oven function using the arrow button . In the menu status bar,
the current position within the menu is shown.
Turning the oven on and setting oven function
1. Switch on the appliance using the ON/OFF
button.
2. Using the arrow button select the
oven function. A suggested temperature
appears in the temperature display. The
oven starts to heat up.
3. With the or button, the tempera-
ture can be raised or lowered.
When the temperature set is reached, an au-
dible signal sounds.
Always grill with the door closed.

Oven functions
Oven functions Application
True fan For baking on up to three oven levels at the same time. Set the
oven temperatures 20-40 °C lower than when using Conventional.
Fan baking For baking on one oven level dishes that require more intensive
browning and a crispy base. Set the oven temperatures 20-40 °C
lower than when using Conventional.
Slow cook For preparing especially tender, succulent roasts.
Conventional For baking and roasting on one oven level.
Rotitherm For roasting larger joints of meat or poultry on one level. The
function is also suitable for gratinating and browning.
Dual grill For grilling flat foodstuffs in large quantities and for toasting.
Single grill For grilling flat foodstuffs placed in the middle of the grill and for
toasting.
Keep warm To keep dishes warm.
Defrost For defrosting e. g. flans and gateaux, butter, bread, fruit or other
frozen foods.
Bottom heat For baking cakes with crispy or crusty bases.

Switching off an oven function
Press the arrow button repeatedly until OVEN FUNCTIONS is in the display again.
Turning the appliance off completely
Switch appliance off by pressing the ON/OFF button.
Heat indicator
The fan switches on automatically in order to keep the appliance’s surfaces cool. When the
oven is switched off, the fan continues to run to cool the appliance down, then switches
itself off automatically.
Heating Up indicator
When the oven function has been switched on, the bars that slowly light up one after the
other indicate how far the oven has heated up.

Rapid Heat Up indicator
When the RAPID HEAT UP function has been switched on, the bars that flash one after the
other indicate that RAPID HEAT UP is operating.
Residual heat indicator
After switching off the oven, the residual heat in the oven is displayed.
Checking the temperature to the degree
Press the and buttons at the same time. The current oven temperature is displayed.
Automatic programmes
In addition to the oven functions for individually setting baking and roasting you have the
option of working with various automatic programmes:
• Meat programmes with weight input (OVEN FUNCTIONS menu)
• Automatic recipes (Options menu)
Meat programmes with weight input
The meat programmes offer optimum settings for each type of meat. The roasting time is
automatically determined by inputting the weight of the meat.
1. Using the arrow button select the desired meat programme. In the text line the
weight flashes.
2. As long as the weight is flashing, use the or button to set the weight of the
food. The setting changes in 0.1kg steps (with POULTRY in 0.2kg steps). The meat pro-
gramme is started. In the clock functions display the length of the programme is dis-
played. The time counts down. This means while the programme is running the actual
time remaining is displayed.
If the suggested weight is not changed within approx. 5 seconds, the meat programme
starts automatically. Within the first two minutes the weight can still be altered. To do this
press the button. The weight flashes and can be altered
3. With the POULTRY meat programme, please turn the food if an acoustic signal sounds
and the instruction TURNOVER MEAT is in the text line. When all meat programmes are
completed, an audible signal sounds.

Baking recipes and roasting recipes
1. Use the button to change to the Options menu.
2. Use the button to change to the RECIPE MENU menu.
3. Use the arrow button to select the desired recipe category.
4. Use the button to change to e.g. the ROASTING RECIPES menu.
5. Use the arrow button to select the desired recipe. If the selection is not altered for
a few seconds, the oven takes this setting and begins to heat up.
6. An acoustic signal will sound when the cooking time has finished.
– “00:00:” flashes in the clock display and the symbol flashes.
– The oven heating switches itself off.
7. The audible signal can be stopped by pressing any button.
Delaying the start time: Running the programme can also be automatically started at a
later time (see Clock Functions END ).

The clock function END can be set, if the programme has been running for less than
two minutes.
Ending the cooking time early: Press and hold the OPTION button or using the arrow
button select the menu option BACK.
Other recipes
With the recipes POWDER CAKE and FROZEN PIZZA the suggested temperture can be in-
creased or decreased by 10°C by using the or button.
Recipe Function
Powder cake For baking ready-made cakes and cake mixes.
Frozen pizza For baking ready-made meals such as pizza, la-
sagne, gratins and chips from the deep freeze.
Drying herbs For drying fruit, herbs and mushrooms.
Preserving For preserving fruit and vegetables.
Memory menu
With this function you can save the optimum settings for your own recipes. The first three
“Personal Recipes” can be called up again directly in the Oven Functions menu. There are
10 memory positions available for recipes and 10 for recipes with preset meat probe core
temperatures.
Saving settings for “Personal Recipes”
1. Select oven function and temperature.
2. If necessary, use the SELECTION button to change to the clock function DURATION
and input the desired cooking time (see “Clock Functions” section)
3. Using the OPTION button, change to the Options menu.
4. Using the OK button, select the suggested menu option STORE MEMORY. The next
free memory position is displayed.
5. Use the OK button, to select e. g. MEMORY 1. The first letter in the text line will
flash.
6. Using the arrow , select the desired letter from the alphabet.
7. Use the or button to move the dash to the right or left. The next letter will flash
and can be changed, and so on. In this way you can write the name of your “Personal
Recipe”.
There are 18 input fields available.
When you have finished writing the name, press and hold the OK button. SAVED is
shown.
The settings can also be shown during or at the end of a baking/roasting process.
Calling up settings for your own “Personal Recipes”
1. Switch on the appliance using the ON/OFF button.
2. Using the arrow button , select the saved recipe.

You can call up the first three saved “Personal Recipes” directly in the Oven Functions menu.
Further “Personal Recipes” can be called up in the MEMORY MENU under the menu option
START MEMORY.
Overwriting a memory position
Memory positions that are already filled can be overwritten at any time. To do this, proceed
as explained in the “Saving settings for your own recipes”. However at point 5, instead of
the suggested free memory position, use the button to select the recipe that you want
to overwrite.
Settings menu
Independent of the current use of the oven, you can change various base settings. These
remain permanently set, until they are changed again.
Menu item Description
Heat+Hold menu While ON the HEAT+HOLD function is offered in
the menu list after a DURATION or END is com-
pleted and can be activated.
Extra time menu While ON the TIME EXTENSION function is of-
fered when a DURATION was set and has elapsed.
Rapid heat up menu While ON The RAPID HEAT UP MENU function is
automatically switched on with suitable oven
functions.
Residual heat menu While ON After the appliance is switched off, the
residual heat is automatically indicated.
Display menu While ON the time of day is automatically dis-
played when the appliance is switched off.
Sound menu For setting if each press of a button is to be con-
firmed with a tone and for setting if audible sig-
nals for operational steps that cannot be carried
out are to be acknowledged with a tone.
Language menu For setting the language in the display.
Factory settings For restoring all settings to the status as at the
time of delivery.
Adjusting SETTINGS MENU
1. Using the OPTION button, open the Options menu.
2. Using the arrow button select the menu option SETTINGS MENU.
3. Using the OK button, change to the SETTINGS MENU menu.
4. Using the arrow arrow button go to the setting that you want to adjust.
5. Press the OK button. The value currently set appears in the display.
6. Using the arrow button select the desired value.
7. Press the OK button. In the display SAVED appears for a few seconds. Afterwards,
you will find yourself back in the Oven Functions menu.

Everyday use of the SETTINGS MENU
• The Heat+Hold function keeps your prepared dish warm for 30 minutes, after the baking
or roasting process is completed. This is helpful, for example, if your guests are late.
• Set temperature is above 80°C
• Fixed duration
Switching on Heat+Hold
1. Select oven function, meat programme or automatic programme.
2. If necessary, set duration or core temperature.
3. Press the SELECTION button repeatedly until HEAT+HOLD flashes.
4. Confirm with . The Heat+Hold function is now switched on.
5. As soon as the function is completed, a signal sounds and Heat+Hold starts. The func-
tion set runs at 80°C for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes with Heat+Hold are over, the
oven switches itself off.
Irrespective of the function set, Heat+Hold remains active. You can change between the
oven functions.
Heat+Hold can be activated or deactivated in the SETTINGS MENU menu.
EXTRA TIME MENU
• Allows the last oven function to continue to run after the time has elapsed.
• All oven functions with DURATION or Auto Weight.
• The EXTRA TIME MENU can be switched on and off in the SETTINGS MENU menu.
Switching on EXTRA TIME MENU (oven function is completed and signal sounds and
message appears)
1. Press any button (except ON/OFF ).
2. Message for EXTRA TIME MENU appears for approx. 3 minutes.
3. Activate with EXTRA TIME MENU.
4. Set duration of the EXTRA TIME MENU using or .
5. Start EXTRA TIME MENU using or let it start automatically after 5 seconds. The
settings of the oven function are displayed with the new duration.
6. The rest of the procedure is the same as for a normal oven function. The EXTRA TIME
MENU can be set repeatedly.
Pre-heating with the RAPID HEAT UP function
After an oven function has been selected, with the additional function RAPID HEAT UP the
pre-heating time can be shortened. Pre-heating the empty oven is unnecesssary for most
baking and roasting sessions, because the temperature set is generally reached in a short
time (see Tables and Tips). We recommend pre-heating the empty oven using the RAPID
HEAT UP function for biscuits that quickly spread into one another, bread rolls and Swiss
rolls.
WARNING!
Do not put the food to be cooked into the oven, until RAPID HEAT UP is completed and the
oven is operating using the desired function.
1. Set the oven function (e.g. CONVENTIONAL). Change the suggested temperature, if
necessary.

2. Press the RAPID HEAT UP button. The symbol lights up: When the bars flash
one after another it shows that RAPID HEAT UP is operating.
When the temperature set is reached, the bars of the heat indicator are lit. An audible signal
sounds. The symbol goes out. The oven now continues heating according to the pre-
set oven function and temperature. You can now place the food in the oven.
If you generally prefer to put food into a pre-heated oven, you can switch on the RAPID
HEAT UP function permanently (see SETTINGS MENU). The RAPID HEAT UP function is then
switched off with the RAPID HEAT UP button.
The RAPID HEAT UP function can be switched on with the oven functions TRUE FAN, FAN
BAKING, CONVENTIONAL and ROTITHERM.
Clock Functions
Information about the clock functions
• After a clock function has been selected, the corresponding symbol flashes for about 5
seconds. During this time, the desired times can be set or modified using the or button.
• When the desired time has been set, the corresponding symbol continues to flash for
approx. 5 seconds. After this the symbol lights up. The set time begins to run.
When the DURATION and END clock functions are used, the oven switches the
heating elements off, when 90% of the time set or calculated has elapsed. The residual heat
present is used to continue the cooking process until the time set has elapsed (3 to 20
mins.).
The clock functions display shows the period of operation for the selected oven function,
if none of the clock functions MINUTE MINDER , DURATION or END is set.
MINUTE MINDER
1. Press the SELECTION button repeatedly, until MINUTE MINDER and the symbol
is displayed.
2. Using the or button, set the desired Countdown time (max. 99 minutes).
3. After about 5 seconds the display shows the time remaining.
4. When the time has elapsed, an audible signal sounds for 2 minutes. “00.00” and the
symbol flash.
5. To turn off the audible signal: Press any button.
DURATION
1. Select oven function and temperature.
2. Press the SELECTION button repeatedly until DURATION and the symbol is
displayed.
3. Using the or button button, set the desired cooking time.
4. After about 5 seconds the remaining cooking time is displayed.
5. When the time has elapsed, an audible signal sounds for 2 minutes. The oven switches
itself off.
6. “00.00” and the symbol flash.
7. To turn off the audible signal: Press any button.
END
1. Select the oven function and temperature.

2. Press the SELECTION button repeatedly until END and the symbol are displayed.
3. Using the or button, set the desired switch-off time.
4. After about 5 seconds the switchoff time is displayed.
5. When the time has elapsed, an audible signal sounds for 2 minutes. The oven switches
itself off.
6. “00.00” and the symbol flash.
7. To turn off the audible signal: Press any button.
DURATION and END can be used simultaneously, switched on and off automatically
at a later time.
DURATION and END combined
1. Select the oven function and temperature.
2. Using the DURATION function, set the time that the dish needs to cook, for example:
1 hour.
3. Using the END function, set the time at which the dish should be ready, for example:
at 14:05. In the text line is shown PROGRAMMED.
4. The oven switches itself on automatically at the time calculated, for example: at 13:05.
5. When the set cooking time has elapsed, an audible signal sounds for 2 minutes and the
oven switches itself off, for example: at 14:05.
To change TIME OF DAY
The time can only be modified, if the child safety device is deactivated, neither of the clock
functions DURATION or END and no oven function is set.
1. Switch on the appliance using the ON/OFF button
2. Press the SELECTION button repeatedly until TIME OF DAY and the symbol are
displayed.
3. Using the or button, set the current time.
4. Confirm using the SELECTION button. The appliance is now ready to use.
Additional functions
CHILD LOCK for the oven
As soon as the CHILD LOCK is activated, the appliance cannot be operated.
1. If necessary, switch on the appliance using the ON/OFF button. No oven function
must be selected.
2. Touch SELECTION and decrease buttons simultaneously until CHILD LOCK ap-
pears in the display. The CHILD LOCK is now operating.
Switching off the CHILD LOCK
1. If necessary, switch on the appliance using the ON/OFF button.
2. Touch SELECTION and decrease buttons simultaneously until CHILD LOCK goes
out in the display. The CHILD LOCK is now deactivated and the oven is again ready for
use.
BUTTON LOCK
You can use it to ensure that all oven functions set are not accidentally altered.
Switching on BUTTON LOCK
1. If necessary, switch on the appliance using the ON/OFF button.

2. Select the oven function.
3. Press the SELECTION and decrease buttons simultaneously until BUTTON LOCK
appears in the display. The BUTTON LOCK is now in operation.
Switching BUTTON LOCK off
• Press SELECTION and decrease buttons simultaneously for approx. 2 seconds.
The BUTTON LOCK does not protect the appliance from being accidentally switched off.
After the appliance is switched off, the BUTTON LOCK is automatically cancelled.
Oven Automatic cut-out
If not switched off after a certain time, or if the temperature is not modified, the oven
switches off automatically.
The oven switches itself off when the oven temperature is:

Baking
Oven levels
• Baking with Conventional Cooking is only possible on one level.
• When baking with Fan Cooking one to two baking trays can be put into the bottom oven
at the same time:

Baking tins
• Baking tins made from dark-coloured metal with Teflon coating are suitable for baking
using Conventional Cooking.
• For baking using the Fan Cooking function, baking tins made of shiny light-coloured
metal are suitable.
General instructions
• Insert the tray with the bevel at the front.
• When baking using Conventional Cooking and Fan Cooking , you can also place two
baking trays next to one another on one level. This does not significantly affect the baking
time.
When frozen items are placed on baking trays, they can buckle during cooking. This happens
due to the large difference in temperature between the frozen item and the oven. After
cooling, the buckling in the trays disappears.
How to use the Baking Tables
• The tables give the required temperature settings, cooking times and oven levels for a
selection of typical dishes.
• Temperatures and baking times are for guidance only, as these will depend on the con-
sistency of pastry, dough or mixture, the amount and the type of baking tin.
• We recommend setting the oven to a lower temperature for the first time and only
setting a higher temperature when required, e.g. if you require more browning or if the
baking is taking too long.
• If you cannot find the settings for a certain recipe, look for similar items.
• The baking time can be 10-15 minutes longer when baking cakes on trays or in tins on
multiple levels.
• Recipes with moist ingredients such as pizzas or fruit flans are to be baked on one level.
• Cakes and pastries at different heights may brown at an uneven rate at first. You should
not change the temperature setting if this occurs. Different rates of browning even out
as baking progresses.

• Baking and roasting times could differ from those of your previous oven. For this reason
you should adjust the settings you usually use (temperature, cooking times, etc.) and
oven levels to the recommendations provided in the following tables.
Roasting
Ovenware for roasting
• Any heat-resistant ovenware is suitable to use for roasting. (Please follow the manu-
facturer's instructions.)
•You can place large roasts directly in the roasting tray or on the shelf with the
roasting tray underneath.
•We recommend roasting leaner cuts in a roasting pan with a lid. The meat will be
more succulent.
• All types of meat which are supposed to be browned or form a crust or crackling can be
roasted in a roasting pan without a lid.
The information given in the following tables is for guidance only.
•We recommend meat and fish weighing 1 kg or more for roasting in the oven.
• To prevent escaping meat juices or fat from burning on to the pan, we recommend
placing some liquid in the roasting cookware.
• If required, turn the roast after 1/2 - 2/3 of the cooking time.
• Use the cooking juices to baste large roasts and poultry several times during the cooking
time. This will give better roasting results.
Hints and tips when using the grill
• Most foods should be placed on the grid in the grill pan to allow maximum circulation
of air and to lift the food out of the fats and juices.
• Adjust the grid and grill pan runner position to allow for different thicknesses of food.
• Position the food close to the element for faster cooking and further away for gentler
cooking.
• Food should be thoroughly dried before grilling to minimise splashing. Brush lean meats
and fish lightly with a little oil or melted butter to keep them moist during cooking.
• Accompaniments such as tomatoes and mushrooms may be placed underneath the grid
when grilling meats.
• When toasting bread, use the shelf in the top position with the grid in the ‘high’ position.
• Preheat the grill on a full setting for a few minutes before sealing steaks or toasting.
Adjust the heat setting and the shelf as necessary during cooking.
• The food should be turned over during cooking as required.
• When using the centre section grill, ensure food is placed centrally on the grilling grid
directly beneath the grill element.
Hints and tips when using the top oven
• Arrange the shelves in the required positions before switching the oven ON. Shelf posi-
tions are counted from the bottom upwards.
• There should always be at least 2.5cm (1”) between the top of the food and the element.
This gives best cooking results and allows room for rise in yeast mixtures, Yorkshire
puddings etc. When cooking cakes, pastry, scones bread etc., place the tins or baking
trays centrally on the shelf.
