WARNING! Read all safety warnings and
all instructions, including those given in the
accompanying brochure. Failure to follow the
warnings and instructions may result in electric
shock, re and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future
reference.
WORK AREA SAFETY
■Avoid dangerous environments. Do not use in
rain, snow, damp or wet locations. Do not use in
the presence of explosive atmospheres (gaseous
fumes, dust or ammable materials) because
sparks may be generated when inserting or
removing battery pack, possibly causing re.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY
■Do not use an extension cord with the
appliance. Using an extension cord could result
in the risk of re and electrical shock.
PERSONAL SAFETY
■Follow appliance manufacturer’s’ instructions
regarding operation and power. Use of the
appliance different from those intended could
result in a hazardous situation.
■Use the correct appliance for the
application.
■Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use
common sense when operating power source
connector. Do not use while you are tired
or under the inuence of drugs, alcohol or
medication. A moment of inattention may result
in serious personal injury.
USE AND CARE
■Disconnect plugs from the power source
connector and remove the battery pack before
storing. Such preventive safety measures reduce
the risk of starting the appliance accidentally.
■Store idle appliances and power source
connector out of the reach of children and
do not allow persons unfamiliar with the
appliance, power source connector or these
instructions to operate them. Appliances and
power source connector are dangerous in the
hands of untrained users.
■Maintain appliances and power source
connector. Check for misalignment, breakage
of parts and any other condition that may affect
the appliance and power source connector
operation. If damaged, have the appliances or
power source connector repaired before use.

appliances and power source connector.
■Use the power source connector in accordance
with these instructions, taking into account
the working conditions and the work to be
performed. Use of the power source connector
for operations different from those intended could
result in a hazardous situation.
■Keep power source connector away from
other metal objects like paper clips, coins,
keys, nails, screws, or other small metal
objects that can make a connection from
one terminal to another. Shorting the terminals
together may cause burns or a re.
BATTERY USE AND CARE
■Power source connector is rated for 18 V DC
only. Use only appropriate 18V battery packs.
Use of any other battery packs may create a risk
of injury and re.
■Recharge only with the 18 V Li-Ion chargers.
A charger that is suitable for one type of battery
pack may create a risk of re when used with
another battery pack.
■To reduce the risk of electric shock, always
remove battery pack before cleaning or
maintenance.
SERVICE
■Do not disassemble. Incorrect reassembly may
result in the risk of electric shock or re. If it is
damaged, take it to a AEG service facility.
■Store in a cool, dry place. Do not store where
temperatures may exceed 120°F (50°C) such
as in direct sunlight, a vehicle or metal building
during the summer.
■Maintain labels and nameplates. These
carry important information. If unreadable or
missing, contact a AEG service facility for a free
replacement.
OPERATION
WARNING! Recharge only with the charger
specied for the battery. For specic charging
instructions, read the operator’s manual supplied
with your charger and battery.
Inserting/Removing the Battery
To insert the battery, slide the pack into the body
of the power source connector. Make sure it latches
securely into place.
To remove the battery, push in the release buttons
and pull the battery pack away from the power
source connector.
Using the BHJ18C Power source connector with
AEG Heated Gear
The BHJ18C power source connector supplies
power to both the heated jacket and the power
source connector USB port. Insert the power cable
(from inside the battery pocket) into the power
cable port on the power source connector. Place
the power source connector into the pocket and zip
closed. If necessary, unzip the expansion zipper
to accommodate larger battery packs. When the
power source connector’s On/Off switch is in the
ON position, the USB port is live and the jacket is
powered for use. Use the jacket’s power button(s)
to control the settings. Move the power source
connector’s On/Off switch to the OFF position to turn
off the USB port and jacket’s power.
Using the USB Port
The USB port can be used to charge a cell phone,
MP3 player, or other personal device that uses less
than 5V, 2.1A of DC electrical current.
Use the power source connector’s On/Off switch to
control the USB port
Note: When used with AEG Heated Gear, the cord
can be run from the battery pocket, through the
grommet and channel on the interior of the jacket,
and through another.
MAINTENANCE
Maintain labels and nameplates. These carry
important information. If unreadable or missing,
contact an AEG service facility for instructions.
