1. Preparing Vehicle
a.Make sure vehicle is parked on level surface.
b.Set parking brake.
c. If engine has run in the past two hours, let it cool down.
d.Turn off the ignition and disconnect the negative battery cable.
e.Do not discard stock components after removal of the factory system.
2. Removal of stock system
Read and understand these instructions BEFORE attempting to install this product. Failure
to follow installation instructions and not using the provided hardware may damage the intake
tube, throttle body and engine.
a. Loosen the hose clamp that secures the stock intake
tube to the intake plenum and then disconnect the
crankcase vent hose from the airbox lid.
b. Unclip the upper airbox retaining clips and remove
the upper airbox and intake tube assembly as shown.
c. Disconnect the vacuum canister hose shown. d. Using a small screwdriver, release the center holding
pins in the six grill retaining clips shown.

e. Remove the six grill retaining clips from the grill, then
tilt the grill forward and lift to remove from the vehicle. f. Pull the fresh air duct forward to disconnect it from
the airbox and then remove it from the vehicle.
g. Remove the airbox mounting bolt shown. h. Lift the lower airbox and remove it from the vehicle
as shown.
b. Install the provided edge trim onto the heat shield as
shown.
NOTE: Some trimming of the edge trim may be
necessary.
3. Installation of AEM®Intake System
a.When installing the intake system, do not completely tighten the hose clamps or mounting hardware until instructed
to do so.
c. Install the 1/4”-20 male/female rubber mounted stud
onto the “L” bracket (070952) with the provided
hardware as shown.

d. Install the bracket/rubber mounted stud assembly
onto the heat shield as shown using the provided
hardware.
e. Install the twist bracket onto the heat shield as
shown using the provided hardware.
f. Remove the bolt that secures the vacuum reservoir to
the airbox, then remove the reservoir from the airbox.
h. Remove the coolant reservoir-retaining nut and
airbox mounting grommet shown.
g. Using the provided spacer, install the vacuum reser-
voir onto the heat shield as shown.
NOTE: Due to vehicle manufacturing tolerances, 2
spacers may be required.
i. Using the two fender washers and one rubber wash-
er, install the 6mm male/female rubber mounted stud
onto the lower airbox mount as shown.

j. Install the 6mm male/male rubber mounted stud onto
the upper airbox mount as shown. k. Install the heat shield assembly into the vehicle and
secure it to the mounting locations with the provided
hardware.
l. Reconnect the vacuum reservoir vacuum line. m. Disconnect the air temperature electrical connection.
n. Remove the two bolts that secure the intake plenum
to the intake manifold. o. Remove the intake plenum from the vehicle as
shown.

p. Install the silicone hose (5-323) onto the throttle body
and secure with the provided hose clamp. q. Remove the lower rear A/C mounting bolt show.
NOTE: This bolt will be reused.
r. Install the tube mounting bracket onto the A/C
compressor and secure with the factory mounting bolt
removed in step 3q.
s. Rotate the air temperature sensor counter clockwise
and remove the sensor from the stock intake plenum as
shown.
t. Install the supplied rubber grommet into the AEM®
intake tube as shown. u. Remove the rubber sealing “O” ring from the air tem-
perature sensor as shown.

v. Install the air temperature sensor into the AEM®
intake tube as shown. w. Install the AEM®intake tube into the silicone hose
at the throttle body and align with the tube mounting
bracket installed in step #23. Secure with the provided
hardware and hose clamp.
NOTE: Due to the different style of A/C lines that
may be installed from the factory, it may be nec-
essary to install the provided male/female rubber
mounted stud between the tube mounting bracket
and tube, and adjust the bracket position to pro-
vide adequate clearance. Check and adjust the heat
shield position as necessary.
x. Remove the factory crankcase vent hose from the
“T” fitting shown. y. Install the supplied silicone hose onto the crankcase
vent “T” and connect the other end onto the AEM®
intake tube as shown.

ab. Install the silicone hose (5-353) onto the AEM®
air filter assembly and secure with the provided hose
clamp.
ac. Install the AEM® air filter assembly onto the AEM®
intake tube as shown and secure with the provided
hose clamp.
ad. Reinstall the grill assembly with the factory retaining
clips removed in step 2d. ae. Reconnect the vehicle’s negative battery cable.
Double check to make sure everything is tight and
properly positioned before starting the vehicle.
z. Connect the air temperature sensor electrical con-
nection. aa. Install the filter adapter into the AEM® air filter as
shown, secure with the provided hose clamp.

AEM Air Intake System Warranty Policy
AEM®warrants that its intake systems will last for the life of your vehicle. AEM will not honor this warranty due to mechani-
cal damage (i.e. improper installation or fitment), damage from misuse, accidents or flying debris. AEM will not warrant
its powder coating if the finish has been cleaned with a hydrocarbon-based solvent. The powder coating should only be
cleaned with a mild soap and water solution. Proof of purchase of both the vehicle and AEM intake system is required for
redemption of a warranty claim.
This warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of the AEM part. In no event shall this warranty exceed the original
purchase price of the AEM part nor shall AEM be responsible for special, incidental or consequential damages or cost
incurred due to the failure of this product. Warranty claims to AEM must be transportation prepaid and accompanied with
dated proof of purchase. This warranty applies only to the original purchaser of product and is nontransferable. Improper
use or installation, use for racing, accident, abuse, unauthorized repairs or alterations voids this warranty. AEM disclaims
any liability for consequential damages due to breach of any written or implied warranty on all products manufactured by
AEM. Warranty returns will only be accepted by AEM when accompanied by a valid Return Merchandise Authorization
(RMA) number. Credit for defective products will be issued pending inspection. Product must be received by AEM within
30 days of the date RMA is issued.

4. Reassemble Vehicle
a. Position the inlet pipes for the best fitment. Be sure that the pipes or any other components do not contact any part
of the vehicle. Tighten the rubber mount, all bolts, and hose clamps.
b. Check for proper hood clearance. Re-adjust pipes if necessary and re-tighten them.
c. Inspect the engine bay for any loose tools and check that all fasteners that were moved or removed are properly
tightened.
d. Reconnect the negative battery terminal and start the engine. Let the vehicle idle for 3 minutes. Perform a final
inspection before driving the vehicle.
5. Service and Maintenance
a. It is recommended that you service your AEM®Dryflow™ filter every 20,000 miles for optimum performance. Use
AEM Dryflow cleaning kit part # 21-110.
b. Use aluminum polish to clean your polished AEM®intake tube.
c. Use window cleaner to clean your powder coated AEM®intake tube. (NOTE: DO NOT USE aluminum polish on
powder coated AEM intake tubes).
