All safety and operating instructions should be read, adhered to and followed
before the unit is operated. Incorrect operation may cause harm or damage.
This dehumidier is for indoor use only!
When using your Pure & Dry dehumidier, basic precautions should always be observed,
including the following:
• The dehumidier must be directly connected to a grounded 110-120 VAC/60Hz power
supply outlet.
• Do not, under any circumstances, cut or remove the ground pin from the power cord.
• Do not exceed the Amp rating of the power outlet.
• Do not use an extension cord or power strip.
• Do not operate unit if the cord or plug is damaged.
• Do not modify power plug or cord or use a 3-prong to 2-prong adapter.
• Do not place dehumidier near heat sources such as heaters or open re.
• For your safety, do not store or use combustible materials, gasoline or other ammable
vapors or liquids in the vicinity of this or any other appliance.
• Disconnect the power if strange sounds, smells or smoke come from the unit.
• Always disconnect the power before cleaning or maintaining the unit or when not in use.
• Never operate this dehumidier in an area that is likely to accumulate standing water. If this
condition develops, for your safety, disconnect the power supply before stepping into the
water.
• Never unplug by pulling on the cord. Grasp the plug and pull straight out of the receptacle.
• Do not repair, disassemble and/or modify the unit by yourself.
• There must be free space of at least 12” (30.5cm) between any other object and the
dehumidier.
• This unit is not a toy. Do not permit children or others with limitations to operate unit.
• Do not rest heavy or hot objects on top of the dehumidier or immerse in water.
• Do not use harsh or abrasive-type chemicals to clean the lter or unit.
• Ensure curtains or other hanging objects are not obstructing air intake and exhaust.
• To help reduce noise and vibration and ensure proper drainage, dehumidier should be
positioned on a rm level surface.

WARNING: This appliance must be grounded and should only be connected to a ground
110 - 1120V / 60Hz main supply. The installation must be in accordance with
the regulations of the country where the unit is used.
• This unit is designed to operate between 41° F and 90 °F. The optimal operating
temperature range is between 60° F and 90°F. The humidity level can be set within a range
of 40% RH (Relative Humidity) to 70% RH.
Typically when the room temperature is less than 59° F, humidity levels are low. When
humidity levels are low in the room the LOW TEMPERATURE icon will light up. The LOW
TEMPERATURE icon will ash if room temperature falls between 35° F and 58° F. The
dehumidier should not be used when the LOW TEMPERATURE icon is ashing.
• In the event of a power outage, the unit will restart at the previously set function mode and
setting when power is restored.
OPERATING THE DEHUMIDIFIER

CONTROL PANEL
The Control Panel consists of:
a) 8 control buttons and
b) Display Screen
With these, you control the function of your Aerus Pure & Dry Dehumidier.
As long as the dehumidier is plugged in to a 120V outlet, four items will always be displayed
in the Display Screen: Relative Humidity, Temperature, HEPA lter (installed or not), and HEPA
Filter Timer.
When the dehumidier is turned ON, icons are displayed that show the current operating
mode.
NOTE: When the dehumidier is turned ON, the Control Panel briey illuminates.

ON/OFF
Press the ON/OFF button to turn the dehumidier ON and OFF. The dehumidier remembers
the last setting and starts in that mode.
MODE
Press the MODE button to change between one of 5 operating modes. The mode changes each
time the button is pressed. An icon will be displayed on the Display Screen showing the current
mode.
NOTE: See the Display Screen section of this manual for the identication and location of
the MODE icons.
• Automatic – In Automatic Mode, the fan operates continuously and the dehumidier
automatically turns on and o based on a set point (40% to 70% humidity) of your choosing
(see the “Humidity Set” button).
• Continuous Dehumidication – In Continuous Dehumidication Mode, the dehumidier
operates continuously and the fan automatically switches to either low speed or high speed
based on humidity level in the room; low fan speed for humidity lower than 55%; high fan
speed for humidity higher than 60%. When the humidity is between 55% and 60%, the fan
speed is based on its previous level.
• Drying – In Drying Mode, both the fan and the dehumidier operate continuously. The fan
operates at high speed to maximize the air ow through the unit. Use this mode to extract
the maximum amount of moisture from the air in the least amount of time.
• Air Purication – In Air Purication Mode, the fan operates continuously and the
dehumidier is o. This mode only works with a HEPA lter installed in the dehumidier.
The fan speed can be set to either low or high by pressing the HUMIDITY SET button.
• Ventilation – In Ventilation Mode, the fan operates continuously and the dehumidier is o.
This mode works with or without a HEPA lter installed in the dehumidier. The fan speed
can be set to either low or high by pressing the HUMIDITY SET button.
NIGHT MODE
Press the NIGHT Mode button to operate the dehumidier at its quietest setting. When the
Night Mode button is pressed, the dehumidier continues to operate in its current setting
but the fan speed drops to its lowest level. The dehumidier stays in this mode until the Night
mode button is pressed again.
NOTE: This speed is lower the lowest speed that can be achieved through other manual or
automatic settings.
CLEANING MODE
Starting with the dehumidier o, press and hold the CLEANING Mode button for 3 seconds to
engage the Cleaning Mode. In this mode, the fan operates on high speed to dry out the inside
of the dehumidier, and help remove any potential mold or bacteria buildup, and turns o
automatically. Use this mode before placing the dehumidier in storage. To cancel, press the
Cleaning Mode button for 3 seconds and the unit will go back to its previous operating mode.
LOUVER MODE
This mode sets the movement of the Lover for regulated air ow distribution. Press the LOUVER
Mode button to put the Louver in either:
a) Continuous sweep mode or
b) A xed position

Press the AUTOMATIC TIMER and the HUMIDITY SET button simultaneously to change the
temperature reading from °F to °C.
HUMIDITY SET
The HUMIDITY SET button is used to change:
a) The Target Humidity Level while in AUTOMATIC Mode or
b) The Fan Speed while in either PURIFICATION or VENTILATION Mode.
In Automatic Mode:
Press the HUMIDITY SET button. The humidity icon will be replaced by the humidity level at
achieved (available settings are 40 to 70% in 5% increments). Once the level is set, the display
reverts back to the current humidity level in the room. To see the “set” humidity level, press the
HUMIDITY SET button.
Press the HUMIDITY SET button to set the fan speed to either low or high.

1. Automatic Mode Icon: Displayed when the dehumidier and air purier run
simultaneously.
2. Continuous Dehumidication Mode Icon: Displayed when the dehumidier is
running continuously.
3. Drying Mode Icon: Displayed when the fan and dehumidier are running and using a
drainage hose.
4. Safety Lock Icon: Displayed when the Safety Lock is activated.
5. Air Purication Mode Icon: Displayed when the louver is activated to regulate air ow
distribution.
6. Ventilation Mode Icon: Displayed when the fan is running continuously and the
dehumidier is o.
7. Cleaning Mode Icon: Displayed when Cleaning Mode is activated, operating on high
speed to dry out the inside of the dehumidier.
8. Air Purier Filter Detection Icon: Displayed when the HEPA Filter has been installed,
it will display “OK”. When the HEPA Filter is not installed, it will display “NO”.
9. HEPA Filter Timer Icon: The Filter Timer keeps track of the amount of days the lter
has been used. Replace once per season or every 8 months as needed.

10. Night Mode Icon: Displayed when Night Mode is activated and the fan drops to its lowest
level.
11. Temperature + Timer Display Icon: Displays the ambient temperature of the room.
During the Timer Mode, it will display operational time; if you use the Timer Mode to start
the machine, both Timer and ON will display on the panel; if you use the Timer Mode to
shut o the machine, both Timer and OFF will display on the panel.
12. Fan Speed + Louver Mode Icon: When operating low fan speed, the Fan logo will display
and the Waveform logo uctuation frequency is 0.6 seconds; when operation high fan
speed, the Waveform logo uctuation frequency is 0.2 seconds. When the Louver Mode
has started, the display icon will swing back and forth and the frequency is 0.5 seconds.
When the Louvre Mode has been turned o, the middle three lines will not be displayed;
the running display will be displayed and the Fan Speed icon will represent fan speed.
13. Humidity Level Icon: Displays the humidity of your environment; if you set the humidity,
it will display your chosen humidity setting.
14. Low Temperature Alert Icon: When room temperature is less than 50ºF the Low
Temperature icon will light up. When the room temperature is less than 35ºF the Low
Temperature icon will ash. It is recommended to turn the machine o below 40ºF.
15. Full Bucket Alert Icon: When the water collection bucket is full, this icon will ash on the
display and the unit will beep for 10 seconds. Empty the water from the bucket and place
the bucket back into position.

You have the ability to lter and purify air with your Pure & Dry dehumidier by using the
HEPA/Activated Carbon Filter. Activated Carbon Filters can eectively remove VOCs, dust,
smoke and odors from the air. HEPA lters eectively remove dust and allergens.
Once the unit reads that the lter has been installed, the Air Purication Mode will light up
and the interior fan will begin to run at high speed. You can control the speed of the fan by
selecting the Humidity Set Key %
M
. This will allow you to choose between High and Low
wind speed.
The unit will not operate if a lter is not detected in Air Purication Mode. The lter light will
ash, indicating that a lter needs to be installed.
NOTE: Depending upon usage and environment, we recommend you change the HEPA/
Activated Carbon Filter each season but no less than once every 8 months. The unit
will keep track of how many days your lter has been working. When the lter is
replaced, press the FILTER TIMER to reset.
INSTALLING HEPA/ACTIVATED CARBON FILTER
1. Open front panel and remove the
washable Pre-Filter by unsnapping from
its notches.
2. Place the HEPA/Activated Carbon Filter
into the plastic frame. Place the
washable Pre-Filter back over the HEPA/
Activated Carbon Filter and snap back
into place.
3. Close front panel. Insert tabs at bottom
into base and push closed at top. It is
held into place by magnets.
CAUTION: Disconnect power before changing filter.

There are two ways to remove collected water: Manual Drainage or Automatic Drainage
MANUAL DRAINAGE
• When the water bucket is full, the FULL BUCKET indicator light will
ash and the unit will beep for
10 seconds
• Slowly pull the bucket out of the unit (see image)
• Carefully remove the top of the water bucket and dispose water
• Replace the top of the water bucket and slide back into the unit
NOTE: The water bucket must be securely reinstalled for the unit to operate. Make sure the
lid is rmly fastened and the oating ball is able to move. It is recommended to turn
o and wait several minutes for residual condensate and fully drain into the bucket.
WATER REMOVAL
WARNING: To avoid electric shock, disconnect power before removing collected water.

AUTOMATIC DRAINAGE
Water can automatically be emptied into a oor drain by connecting the included Drainage
Hose.
NOTE: This option will require the unit to drain via a gravity system. Failure to properly
place the unit and install the hose may result in water leakage. Please read
instructions thoroughly. Once installed, we recommend monitoring the Pure & Dry
unit to ensure the unit is draining properly.

outlet pressure plate.
Step Four: Connect the Drainage Hose
with suitable length to the
drain port (insert about 10 mm).

twisted, folded, kinked, looped, etc.
NOTE: In order to avoid water leakage, please ensure
the Drainage Hose is rmly connected and fully
inserted before use. Pitch Drainage Hose slightly
downward for proper water drainage.

• The Drainage Hose should be as short as possible (the recommended length is less
than 0.6 meters)
• The dierence in height between the end of the Drainage Hose and outfall must be
above 10 cm.
• The Drainage Hose should be unobstructed, otherwise it will not drain
water successfully
WARNING: The Drainage Hose must be installed correctly as leakage can occur
and/or water fills up the bucket instead of draining correctly.

MAINTENANCE
REPLACING THE HEPA/ACTIVATED CARBON FILTER
WARNING: Cleaning the HEPA/Activated Carbon Filter with water will damage the lter
and require the purchase of a replacement.
Depending upon usage and environment, we recommend you change the HEPA/Activated
Carbon Filter each season but no less than once every 8 months. The unit will keep track of how

•Remove the HEPA/Activated Carbon Filter and replace with a new HEPA Filter
(Replacement Part #49892).
•Replace the washable Pre-Filter and snap back into place.
•Replace front panel.
•After the HEPA/Activated Carbon Filter is replaced, press the Filter Timer to reset.
CLEANING THE EXTERIOR SURFACE
Wipe clean regularly with a moist cloth and mild household detergent. Do not splash water

CLEANING THE WASHABLE PREFILTER
Air circulation can be impeded and the eciency of the dehumidifying and air purifying
functions decrease when the lter is dirty. It is good practice to clean the washable Pre-Filter at
regular intervals. The precise intervals depend on the room in which the unit operates and how
frequently it is used.
• Open the front panel by pulling it gently forward at the top edges
• Carefully remove the washable Pre-Filter
• Lightly tap or vacuum the washable Pre-Filter to remove loose dirt and dust
• Rinse the lter under cool running water
• Dry thoroughly before reinserting and closing the front panel
CAUTION: Do not place washable Pre-Filter on a heat source as the filter may become
deformed. Do not use bleach or harsh chemical solvents to clean the
washable Pre-Filter.

• Any residual water in the tank should be drained before operating the unit
• Do not directly expose the dehumidier to direct sunlight while in operation,
as it may impact dehumidication capacity
• When the dehumidier is in operation, open outside windows and doors only
when necessary
• To reduce noise and vibration, dehumidier should be placed on a solid level surface
• There must be free space of at least 19.5” between the top of the unit and any other
object. There must be at least 11.8” of free space between the sides of the unit and any

WARRANTY INFORMATION
LIMITED 1 YEAR WARRANTY
Customer should not repackage and ship the Pure and Dry by Aerus unit due to possibility of
irreparable damage. For warranty service, please contact Aerus Customer Service by calling
1-888-764-0693 or via email at support@aerusonline.com.
WHAT IS COVERED BY THIS WARRANTY
We warrant the Pure and Dry by Aerus to the Customer, subject to the conditions herein, against
defects in workmanship and material, for a period of one (1) year from the date of Customer’s
original retail purchase.
INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENTS
This warranty is expressly conditioned upon proper installation, operation, cleaning, and
maintenance, all in accordance with the Owner’s Manual. Failure to meet any of these requirements
will void this warranty. Servicing of your Pure and Dry by Aerus by parties other than our
authorized representatives and/or using parts other than genuine parts will also void this warranty.
HOW TO OBTAIN WARRANTY SERVICE
Customer must contact Aerus Customer Service by calling 1-888-764-0693 or via email at
support@aerusonline.com and provide proof of purchase within the above time periods. We
will repair or replace and return the product, without charge and within a reasonable period
of time, subject to the conditions herein, if our examination shall disclose any part to be
defective in workmanship or material. If we, in our discretion, are unable to repair the product
after a reasonable number of attempts, we will provide either a refund of the purchase price
or a replacement unit, at the company’s option. WE reserve the right to inspect and/or require
conformation of installation method.
WHAT IS NOT COVERED BY THIS WARRANTY
Not for commercial use. Ordinary wear and tear shall not be considered a defect in workmanship
or material. These warranties do not apply for loss or damage caused by accident, fire, abuse,
misuse, improper installation, leaking, modification, misapplication, or bay any repairs other than
those provided by our authorized Service Center. This warranty is non-transferable and does not
cover consumable items such as filters.
UNAUTHORIZED CHANNELS
Warranties are voided if a product is purchased through unauthorized channels; this includes
websites that are not authorized to use our trademarked names, images, and logos as well as
Interned auction sites (e.g. eBay and Craigslist). To confirm warranty coverage prior to purchasing
