Opšta bezbednosna pravila
UPOZORENJE! Pročitajte sve instrukcije. Ukoliko se ne pridržavate svih instrukcija dole navedenih, može doći do električnog udara,
požara i/ili ozbiljnog povredjivanja. Termin „električni alat“ u svim upozorenjima navedenim dole, odnosi se na Vaš električni
uredjaj koji radi na naizmeničnu struju (sa kablom) ili bežični ( akumulatorski) električni uredjaj.
SAČUVATE OVE INSTRUKCIJE
1) Bezbednost radnog prostora
a) Radni prostor održavajte čistim i dobro osvetljenim. Neuredan i mračan radni prostor doprinosi nesrećnom slučaju.

b) Nemojte raditi sa električnim alatom u eksplozivnoj atmosferi - kao što je prisustvo zapaljivih tečnosti, gasova i prašine.
Električni alat proizvodi varnice koje mogu zapaliti prašinu ili isparenja.
c) Držite decu i posmatrače na bezbednoj udaljenosti dok radite sa električnim alatom. Ometanje može uzrokovati gubitak
kontrole.
2) Električna bezbednost
a) Utikači električnog alata moraju odgovarati utičnicama. Utikače nemojte modifikovati ni na koji način. Nemojte koristiti ni
adaptere (adaptacioni utikači) sa uzemljenim električnim alatom. Nemodifikovani utikači i odgovarajuće utičnice - će smanjiti
rizik od električnog udara.
b) Izbegavajte kontakt tela sa uzemljenim površinama kao što su cevi, radijatori, kuhinjski šporeti, frižideri i sl. Postoji povećani
rizik od električnog udara - ukoliko je Vaše telo uzemljeno.
c) Nemojte izlagati električni alat kiši ni vlagi. Ukoliko voda prodre u uredjaj, to će povećati opasnost od električnog udara.
d) Nemojte grubo postupati sa kablom. Nemojte nikada kabal koristiti za prenošenje, vučenje ili izvlačenje utikača iz utičnice -
radi isključenja. Kabal držite podalje od toplote, ulja, oštrih ivica ili pokretnih delova uredjaja. Upetljan ili oštećen kabal -
povećava rizik od električnog udara.
e) Kada radite sa električnim alatom napolju, koristite produžne kablove namenjene za spoljašnju upotrebu. Upotreba
odgovarajućeg produžnog kabla namenjenog za spoljašnju upotrebu - smanjuje opasnost od električnog udara.
f) Ukoliko je rad sa električnim alatom na vlažnoj lokaciji neizbežan, koristite zaštitu mreže u koju je ugradjena sklopka
(rezidualni strujni uredjaj - RCD). Sklopka smanjuje rizik od električnog udara.
3) Lična zaštita
a) Ostanite oprezni, pratite šta radite i koristite zdrav razum - dok radite sa električnim alatom. Nemojte koristiti električni alat
ako ste umorni ili ako ste pod uticajem droge, alkohola ili lekova. Trenutak nepažnje dok radite sa električnim alatom - može
dovesti do ozbilljnih povreda.
b) Uvek koristite ličnu zaštitnu opremu i zaštitne naočare. Zaštitna oprema kao što je maska za zaštitu od prašine, neklizajuće
zaštitne cipele, čvrsta kapa ili zaštita za uši, koji se koriste u odgovarajućim uslovima - smanjiće opasnost od ličnog
povredjivanja.
c) Izbegnite nenamerno pokretanje. Osigurajte da je prekidač u Off položaju pre nego što priključite uredjaj na napojnu mrežu
ili baterijski komplet, pre podizanja ili prenošenja uredjaja. Nošenje uredjaja sa prstom na prekidaču ili priključivanje na
mrežu uredjaja kod koga je prekidač u On položaju – može izazvati nesrećan slučaj.
d) Uklonite sve podešavajuće alate (npr. ključeve) pre neko što uključite uredjaj. Ključ ili neki drugi alat koji je ostavljen na
obrtnom delu uredjaja –može izazvati nanošenje telesnih povreda.
e) Nemojte se protezati. Održavajte odgovarajući stabilan stav nogu i ravnotežu sve vreme rada. To omogućava bolju kontrolu
nad električnim alatom u neočekivanim situacijama.
f) Obucite se propisno. Nemojte nositi široku odeću niti nakit. Vašu kosu, odeću i rukavice - držite podalje od pokretnih delova.
Odeća koja visi, nakit ili duga kosa - mogu biti zahvaćeni pokretnim delovima.
g) Ukoliko je na uredjaj moguće priključiti opremu za usisavanje i sakupljanje prašine, potrudite se da je ta oprema priključena
i da se pravilno koristi. Korišćenje ovakve opreme smanjuje opasnost od nesrećnih slučajeva - koji nastaju zbog prašine.
4) Upotreba i nega električnog alata
a) Nemojte preopterećivati električni alat. Koristite odgovarajući električni alat za odgovarajuću primenu. Odgovarajući
električni alat će posao obaviti bolje i bezbednije - ako se koristi u opsegu za koji je projektovan.
b) Nemojte koristiti električni alat ukoliko prekidač ne uključuje (ON) ili ne isključuje (OFF). Svaki električni alat koji se ne može
kontrolisati prekidačem - je opasan i mora se popraviti.
c) Izvucite utikač iz utičnice i/ili baterijski komplet iz uredjaja - pre bilo kakvog podešavanja uredjaja, zamene dodataka ili
skladištenja uredjaja. Ovakve preventivne zaštitne mere smanjuju opasnost od nenamernog pokretanja električnog alata.
d) Električni alat koji je isključen - skladištite van domašaja dece i nemojte dozvoliti osobama koje nisu upoznate sa radom
ovog električnog alata ili nisu pročitale instrukcije - da rade sa njim. Električni alat postaje opasan u rukama osobe neobučene
za rad sa njim.

e) Održavajte električne alate. Proverite nepravilnost položaja ili zaglavljivanje pokretnih delova, lom delova ili svako drugo
stanje - koje može uticati na rad električnog alata. Ukoliko je oštećen, električni alat mora biti popravljen pre sledeće
upotrebe. Mnogi nesrećni slučajevi uzrokovani su lošim održavanjem električnog alata.
f) Održavajte rezne alate oštrim i čistim. Propisno održavani rezni alati sa oštrim reznim ivicama - imaju manje šanse za
zaglavljivanje, a i lakše je kontrolisati takve alate.
g) Koristite električni alat, dodatke, i dr. u skladu sa ovim instrukcijama - uzimajući u obzir radne uslove i posao koji treba
obaviti. Korišćenje električnog alata za poslove drugačije od onih za koje je namenjen - može dovesti do opasnih situacija.
5) Servis
a) Neka Vaš električni alat servisira samo kvalifikovana osoba u ovlašćenoj servisnoj radionici - uz korišćenje identičnih
rezervnih delova. To će osigurati da se očuva bezbednost električnog uredjaja.
POSEBNA BEZBEDNOSNA PRAVILA - ZA TRIMER ZA ŽIVU OGRADU
a. Koristite otporne zaštitne rukavice koje se ne klizaju, prilikom rada sa makazama za živu ogradu, kao i kada postavljate ili
uklanjate sečiva ili noževe.
b. Odmah zamenite bilo koje sečivo koje je oštećeno. Uvek proverite da li je sečivo ispravno instalirano i dobro pričvršćeno,
pre svake upotrebe uređaja. Ukoliko to ne učinite, može doći do ozbiljnih povreda.
c. Nikada nemojte seći bilo koji materijal, koji je deblji od 24mm u dijametru.
d. Snažno držite dršku sa obe ruke dok sečete sa sečivima. Držite sečiva podalje od tela.
e. Potrebno je da znate kako da brzo zaustavite uređaj u hitnim slučajevima.
f. Nemojte koristiti makaze bez pričvršćenih prednjih drški. Držite obe ruke na drškama kada je vaš električni alat u radu.
g. Ako su vaše makaze za živu orgadu opremljene sa branikom od ostataka sečenja, nemojte koristiti branik za držanje
uređaja.
h. Isključite makaze za živu ogradu - isključite utikač iz utičnice, pre nego što preduzmete bilo kakva podešavanja, promenu
dodataka, skladištenje uređaja ili pre bilo kakvog servisiranja uređaja.
i. Takve preventivne bezbednosne mere smanjuju opasnost od nehotičnog pokretanja uređaja.
j. Servis uređaja mora isključivo da obavi kvalifikovano osoblje. Servis ili održavanje uređaja od strane nekvalifikovanog
osoblja, može prouzrokovati povrede korisnika ili oštećenje uređaja.
k. Ako je kabl za napajanje oštećen, on mora biti zamenjen od strane proizvođača, ili od strane autorizovanog servisnog
centra, da bi se izbegao svaki rizik.
l. Držite sve telove svog tela podalje od sečiva. Nemojte uklanjati ili držati materijal koji se seče, dok se sečiva pomeraju.
Proverite da li je prekidač isključen kada čistite zaglavljen materijal. Trenutak nepažnje tokom rada sa makazama za živu ogradu,

uvek postavite predviđeni poklopac na sečiva. Pravilno rukovanje makazama za živu ogradu smanjiće mogućnosti telesnih povreda
od sečiva.
n. Držite kabl dalje od oblasti za rezanje. Tokom rada, kabal može biti sakriven u grmlju i može se slučajno prerezati od noža
2. Sačuvajte ova uputstva. Često ih pogledajte i koristite ih da bi podučili druge osobe koje mogu koristiti ovaj alat. Ako
nekome pozajmljujete ovaj alat, pozajmite mu i ove instrukcije, da bi sprečili zloupotrebu proizvoda i izbegli eventualne povrede.

TEHNIČKE KARAKTERISTIKE
PRIMENA
1. Trimovanje i oblikovanje živih ograda i žbunova.
RUKOVANJE
PRIKLJUČIVANJE NA NAPOJNU MREŽU (Sl. 2)
Ovaj uredjaj je projektovan sa držačem za kabal (za smanjivanje napregnutosti kabla) (6) - koji sprečava da produžni kabal bude
istrgnut za vreme upotrebe.
1. Napravite petlju sa krajem produžnog kabla.
2. Deo petlje produžnog kabla ubacite u otvor (7) na donjem delu zadnjeg rukohvata i stavite oko držača.
3. Polako povucite petlju uz držač dok se ne ukloni labavost.
4. Uključite uredjaj u produžni kabal.
NAPOMENA: Ukoliko ne uklonite svu zaostalu labavost kabla uz držač kabla, može doći do ispadanja utikača iz utičnice.
DRŽANJE TRIMERA
Pre rada sa trimerom, zauzmite radni stav i proverite sledeće:
1. Da li se koristi propisna odeća i zaštitna oprema za oči i uši.
2. Uredjaj se drži čvrsto sa obe ruke. Desna ruka je lagano savijena i drži zadnji rukohvat (4), a leva ruka je prava i drži prednji
rukohvat (1).
3. Uverite se da Vam je stav nogu bezbedan i držite trimer tako da su rezni noževi uvek dovoljno daleko od Vašeg tela.
POKRETANJE I ZAUSTAVLJANJE (Sl.3)
1. Da bi pokrenuli uredjaj, stisnite sigurnosni prekidač za ruku (2) i u isto vreme - uključite prekidač (3).
2. Otpustite bilo koji prekidač – da bi zaustavili uredjaj.
SEČENJE
OPASNOST: Nikada nemojte rezati u blizini električnih kablova ili vodova. Ukoliko se nož zaglavi na bilo koji električni kabal ili vod ,
NEMOJTE DODIRIVATI NOŽ! MOŽE BITI POD NAPONOM I VRLO OPASAN. Nastavite da držite trimer za izolovani zadnji rukohvat ili
ga položite dole i odmaknut od Vas na bezbedan način. Isključite električni sistem na oštećenoj liniji ili kabal, pre nego što
pokušate da oslobodite nož sa voda ili kabla. Kontakt sa nožem, drugim provodnicima na trimeru ili sa električnim kablovima ili
vodovima koji su pod naponom, će rezultovati smrću usled električnog udara ili teškim povredjivanjem.
UPOZORENJE: Uvek držite obe ruke na rukohvatima trimera. Nikada nemojte držati žbun jednom rukom a rukovati sa trimerom sa
drugom rukom. Nepropisno rukovanje trimerom za živu ogradu, može dovesti do ozbiljnih povreda.
UPOZORENJE: Pre svake upotrebe, očistite zonu koja će se rezati. Uklonite sve predmete kao što su kablovi, žice ili labave vrpce
koje se mogu upetljati u nož i stvoriti rizik od električnog udara i ozbiljnog povredjivanja.
SEČENJE ODREDJENIM REDOM
Kada režete nove izdanke, upotrebite široke zamahe tako da stabljike upadaju direktno u nož. Nemojte pokušavati da sečete grane
koje su deblje od 10 mm ili one koje su očigledno prevelike da bi upale u nož. Koristite makaze za grane ili testeru da bi najpre
odsekli debele grane. Ukoliko je neophodan radikalan rez, režite po malo u nekoliko prolaza. Prvo režite obe strane žive ograde, a
zatim –vrh.

TEHNIKE REZANJA
Horizontalni rez (Sl. 4)
Držite trimer sa nožem koji je nagnut 5-10 stepeni na Vaš rezni predmet i to čini sečenje lakšim a obezbedjuje bolje rezanje.
Vertikalni rez (Sl. 5)
Počnite sa rezanjem u dnu, i zamahujte da bi bilo jednoliko rezanje.
Zamahujte nožem u luku prema spoljašnjoj strani ograde tako da isečci padnu na zemlju.
ODRŽAVANJE
UPOZORENJE: Za vreme servisiranja, smeju se koristiti samo originalni rezervni delovi. Upotreba bilo kakvih drugačijih delova može
stvoriti opasnu situaciju ili uzrokovati oštećenje proizvoda.
UPOZORENJE: Pre proveravanja, čišćenja ili servisiranja uredjaja, izvucite utikač iz utičnice i sačekajte da se svi pokretni delovi
zaustave. Ukoliko se ne pridržavate ovih instrukcija, može doći do ozbiljnog povredjivanja ili oštećenja imovine.
PODMAZIVANJE NOŽEVA (Sl. 6)
Radi lakšeg rada i dužeg životnog veka noževa, podmažite sečivo noževa pre i posle svake upotrebe.
1. Zaustavite motor i izvucite utikač iz utičnice.
2. Položite trimer za živu ogradu na ravnu površinu. Upotrebite lako mašinsko ulje duž ivice gornjeg sečiva. Ukoliko će se trimer
koristiti duži vremenski period, preporučuje se da ulje primenite u toku upotrebe (praveći pauzu – isključiti iz struje za vreme
podmazivanja).
NAPOMENA: Nemojte vršiti podmazivanje dok trimer radi!
OŠTRENJE NOŽEVA
Noževi se moraju naoštriti ukoliko rezna svojstva i ponašanje počnu da opadaju (npr. ukoliko se noževi često zapletu u granje).
1. Zaustavite motor, izvucite utikač iz utičnice i stegnite nož u stegu.
2. Turpijajte izloženu reznu površinu svakog zuba noža, sa finom okruglom turpijom. Morate zadržati originalni ugao zuba - za
vreme turpijanja.
3. Izvadite nož iz stege, restartujte i zaustavite tako da nenaoštrene ivice zuba noževa budu izložene.
4. Izvucite utikač iz utičnice i ukoliko je potrebno –ponovite proceduru oštrenja.
UPOZORENJE: Nemojte koristiti trimer sa tupim ili oštećenim reznim noževima. To može izazvati preopterećenje a daće i
nezadovoljavajuće rezultate rezanja.
ČIŠĆENJE TRIMERA ZA ŽIVU OGRADU
1. Zaustavite motor i izvucite utikač iz utičnice.
2. Očistite prljavštinu i ostatke sa tela trimera, koristeći vlažnu krpu sa blagim deterdžentom.
NAPOMENA: Nemojte koristiti jake deterdžente na plastičnom kućištu ili na rukohvatu. Mogu biti oštećeni nekim aromatičnim
uljima kao što su borovo ili limunovo i sa rastvorima kao što je - kerozin.
TRANSPORTOVANJE I SKLADIŠTENJE
1. Uvek stavite poklopac noževa (korice) na noževe pre skladištenja ili transportovanja trimera. Budite pažljivi i izbegavajte oštre
zube na noževima.
2. Temeljno očistite trimer za živu ogradu, pre skladištenja. Skladištite trimer u unutrašnjim prostorijama, na suvom mestu, koje
je van domašaja dece. Držite ga daleko od korozivnih sredstava, kao što su baštenske hemikalije ili soli za odmrzavanje.
ZAŠTITA ŽIVOTNE SREDINE
Ukoliko je potebno da zamenite vaš uređaj nakon duge upotrebe, ne odlažite ga sa kućnim otpadom već ga odložite
na ekološki bezbedan način. Električni otpad ne bi trebalo tretirati kao kućno đubre. Molimo Vas da reciklirate tamo
gde postoje postrojenja za reciklažu. Proverite sa lokalnim nadležnima ili prodavcem za savet o reciklaži.

General Safety Rules
WARNING! Read all instructions. Failure to follow all
instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire
and/or serious injury. The term “power tool” in all of the
warnings listed below refers to your mains-operated (corded)
power tool or battery-operated (cordless) power tool.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
1. Work area
a) Keep the work area clean and well illuminated. Cluttered
and poorly lit areas invite accidents.
b) Do not use power tools in explosive environments, e.g.
near flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools
generate sparks that can easily ignite dust or fumes.
c) Keep children and other bystanders away from the area
where you are using the power tool. Distractions can
cause you to lose concentration and control.

2. Electrical safety
a) The power tool’s plug must fit correctly into the wall
socket. Never modify the plug in any way. Never use an
adaptor plug together with earthed power tools.
Unmodified plugs and suitable wall sockets minimize the
risk of electric shocks.
b) Avoid physical contact with earthed objects, such as
pipes, radiators, ovens or refrigerators. There is an
increased risk of receiving an electrical shock if your body
is earthed.
c) Do not expose the power tool to rain or other wet
conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the
risk of electric shock.
d) Do not abuse the mains lead. Never use the lead to carry
the tool or pull the plug from a wall socket. Keep the lead
away from heat, oil, sharp edges and moving parts.
Damaged or tangled leads increase the risk of electric
shock.
e) When using power tools outdoors, use an extension lead
that is suitable for this purpose. The use of an extension
lead designed for outdoor use decreases the risk of electric
shocks.
f) If for some reason you must use a power tool in a wet
environment, always connect it to the mains via an earth-
fault circuit breaker such as an RCD (residual current
device). Using an RCD significantly reduces the chances of
you receiving an electric shock.
3. Personal safety
a) Pay attention to your actions and use common sense
when using power tools. Never use power tools if you are
tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or
medication. One moment of inattention while using a
power tool may result in serious injury.
b) Use protective equipment. Always wear eye protection.
Using protective clothing such as dust masks, non-slip
safety shoes, helmets and ear defenders when needed
decreases the risk of injury.
c) Avoid accidental starts. Make sure that the power switch
is set to OFF before plugging the tool into a wall socket.
Never carry a power tool with your finger on the trigger
and never connect the power tool to a wall socket when
the switch is set to ON, since it may result in injury.
d) Remove all service tools/keys before switching on the
power tool. A service tool left on a rotating part of the
power tool may result in personal injury.
e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all
times. This will allow you to have more control in
unexpected situations.
f) Wear suitable attire. Do not wear loose-fitting clothing or
jewellery. Keep hair, clothes and gloves away from
moving parts. Loose-fitting clothes, jewellery or long hair
could potentially become caught in any moving parts.
g) If equipment for dust extraction or collection is available,
make sure that it is connected and used properly. Use of
dust collection equipment can reduce dust related
hazards.
4. Use and maintenance of the power tool
a) Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool
for your application. The correct power tool will do the job
better and safer if used at the rate for which it was
designed.
b) Never use the power tool if the power switch does not
switch the tool on and off properly. Any power tool that
cannot be controlled by the power switch is dangerous and
must be repaired.
c) Unplug the lead from the wall socket before making any
adjustments, changing accessories or storing the power
tool. These precautions reduce the risk of the power tool
starting unexpectedly.
d) Store any power tools that are not being used out of
children’s reach. Do not allow people who are unfamiliar
with the tool or its functions to operate the tool. Power
tools can be dangerous if they fall into the hands of
inexperienced users.
e) Maintaining power tools. Check for any incorrect settings,
parts that catch, broken parts or anything else which may
cause the power tool to malfunction. If something is
damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many
accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
f) Keep tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting
tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and
are easier to control.
g) Use the power tool, accessories and similar in accordance
with these instructions and in an appropriate way
suitable for the type of power tool used, taking into
account the working conditions and the work to be
performed. Use of the power tool for a purpose other than
that for which it is intended could result in a dangerous
situation.
5. Service
a) Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person
using only identical replacement parts. This guarantees that
the safety of the power tool is maintained.
SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES FOR HEDGE TRIMMER
1. Use non-slip, heavy-duty protective gloves when operating
the hedge trimmer and when installing or removing blades.
2. Replace any blade that has been damaged. Always make
sure blade is installed correctly and securely fastened before
each use. Failure to do so can cause serious
injury.
3. Never cut any material over 24mm in diameter.

4. Maintain a firm grip on both handles while cutting with a
blade. Keep the blade away from body.
5. Know how to stop the unit quickly in an emergency.
6. Do not use trimmer without front handles in place. Keep
both hands on handles when the unit is in use.
7. If hedge trimmer is equipped with a clipping deflector, do
not use the clipping deflector as a gripping surface.
8. Disconnect Hedge Trimmer - Disconnect the plug from
power source before making any adjustments, changing
accessories, storing the hedge trimmer, or before
servicing.
9. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting
the product accidentally.
10. Service on the product must be performed by qualified
repair personnel only. Service or maintenance performed by
unqualified personnel could result in injury to the user or
damage to the product.
11. If the power supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced
only by the manufacturer or by an authorized service center to
avoid risk.
12. Keep all parts of the body away from the cutter blade. Do
not remove cut material or hold material to be cut when
blades are moving. Make sure the switch is off when clearing
jammed material. A moment of inattention while operating
the hedge trimmer may result in serious personal injury.
13. Carry the hedge trimmer by the handle with the cutter
blade stopped. When transporting or storing the hedge
trimmer always fit the cutting device cover. Proper
handling of the hedge trimmer will reduce possible personal
injury from the cutter blades.
14. Keep cable away from cutting area. During operation the
cable may be hidden in shrubs and can be accidentally cut by
the blade.
15. Save these instructions. Refer to them frequently and use
them to instruct others who may use this tool. If you loan
someone this tool, loan them these instructions also to
prevent misuse of the product and possible injury.

OPERATION
CONNECTING TO POWER SUPPLY (Fig. 2)
This product is designed with a cable strain relief (6) that
prevents the extension cord from being pulled loose while
using.
1. Form a loop with the end of the extension cord.
2. Insert loop portion of extension cord through opening (7)
in the bottom of the rear handle and place over cable
strain relief.
3. Slowly pull loop against cord retainer until the slack is
removed.
4. Plug product into extension cord.
NOTE: Failure to remove all excess cord slack from extension
cord retainer could result in plug loosening from receptacle.
HOLDING THE TRIMMER
Before operating the trimmer, stand in the operating position,
and check the following:
1. Proper clothing as well as safety eye and ear protection is
worn.
2. The unit is held firmly with both hands. The right arm is
slightly bent and is holding the rear handle (4), and the left
arm is straight and is holding the front handle (1).
3. Make sure you have a safe footing and hold the garden
trimmer so that the cutting blades always clear of your
body.
STARTING AND STOPPING (Fig. 3)
1. To start the tool, squeeze the hand safety switch (2) and
switch trigger (3) simultaneously.
2. Release either switch to stop the tool.
CUTTING
DANGER: Never cut near electric cords or lines. If blade
jams on any electrical cord or line, DO NOT TOUCH THE
BLADE! IT CAN BECOME ELECTRICALLY LIVE AND VERY
DANGEROUS. Continue to hold the hedge trimmer by the
insulated rear handle or lay it down and away from you in a
safe manner. Disconnect the electrical service to the damaged
line or cord before attempting to free the blade from the line
or cord. Contact with the blade, other conductive parts of the
hedge trimmer, or live electric cords or lines will result in
death by electrocution or serious injury.

WARNING: Always keep both hands on the hedge trimmer
handles. Never hold shrubs with one hand and operate hedge
trimmer with the other. Improper handling of hedge trimmer
could result in serious injury.
WARNING: Clear the area to be cut before each use. Remove
all objects such as cords, lights, wire, or loose string which
can become entangled in the cutting blade and create a risk
of electric shock and serious personal injury.
CUTTING SEQUENCE
When trimming new growth, use wide sweeping action so
that the stems are fed directly into the blade. Do not try to cut
branches that are thicker that 10mm or those obviously too
large to feed into the blade. Use looping shears, a hand saw
or pruning saw to cut out thick branches first. If a radical cut
is necessary, cut a little at a time in several passes. Cut both
sides of the hedge first and then the top.
CUTTING TECHNIQUES
Horizontal cut (Fig. 4)
Hold the trimmer with the blade tilted 5-10 degrees to your
cutting object makes the operation easier and assures a better
cutting.
Vertical cut (Fig. 5)
Start trimming at the bottom and sweep up for even cutting.
Swing the blades in an arc towards the outsides of the hedge
so that the cuttings are swept on the ground.
MAINTENANCE
WARNING: When servicing, use only identical replacement
parts. Use of any other parts can create a hazard or cause
product damage.
WARNING: Before inspecting, cleaning, or servicing the
machine, disconnect the plug from power source and wait for
all moving parts to stop. Failure to follow these instructions
can result in serious personal injury or property damage.
LUBRICATING THE BLADE (Fig. 6)
For easier operation and longer blade life, lubricate the hedge
trimmer blade before and after each use.
1. Stop the motor and disconnect from power supply.
2. Lay the hedge trimmer on a flat surface. Apply light weight
machine oil along the edge of the top blade. If you will be
using the hedge trimmer for an extended period, it is
advisable to oil the blade during use.
NOTE: Do not oil while the hedge trimmer is running!
SHARPENING THE BLADE
The blade must be re-sharpened if cutting performance and
behavior begin to deteriorate (i.e. if blades frequently snag on
branches).
1. Stop the motor and disconnect from power supply, and
clamp the blade in a vice.
2. File the exposed cutting surface of each blade tooth with a
smooth round file. Be sure to retain the original angle of
tooth when filing.
3. Remove the blade from the vise, and restart it and stop it
so that unshaped edges of the blade teeth are exposed.
4. Disconnect the trimmer from the power supply and repeat
the sharpening procedure if necessary.
WARNING: Do not operate the trimmer with dull or damaged
cutting blades. This may cause overload and will give
unsatisfactory cutting results.
CLEANING THE HEDGE TRIMMER
1. Stop the motor and disconnect from power supply.
2. Clean dirt and debris from the body of the hedge trimmer,
using a damp cloth with a mild detergent.
NOTE: Do not use any strong detergents on the plastic housing
or the handle. They can be damaged by certain aromatic oils
such as pine and lemon, and by solvents such as kerosene.
TRANSPORTING AND STORING
1. Always place the blade cover on the blade before storing
or transporting the hedge trimmer. Use caution to avoid
the sharp teeth of the blade.
2. Clean the hedge trimmer thoroughly
before storing. Store the hedge trimmer indoors,
in a dry place that is inaccessible to children. Keep
away from corrosive agents such as garden
chemicals and de-icing salts.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
Do not dispose of in general household waste.
Instead - dispose of in an environmental way, contact
your local recycling center of council for advice.
