Backplane
Slide rail
To install the backplane, please refer to the backplane installation
guide in the accessory box.
To install the slide rail, please refer to the manual in the slide rail kit.
B-2. Insert the drive carrier into its bay. Push the tray lever until it clicks. Make sure the
drive tray is correctly secured in place when its front edge aligns with the bay
edge.
B-1. Place the 2.5” HDD on the tray and then secure it with four screws on the bottom.
A. Release a drive tray by pressing the unlock button and pinching the lock lever
slightly and pulling out the drive tray.
Installing the HDD
A.
Place
the 3.5” HDD on the cage and fix HDD with 4 screws on both sides of HDD tray.
B. Insert the drive carrier into its bay. Push the tray lever until it clicks. Make sure the
drive tray is correctly secured in place when its front edge aligns with the bay edge.
* All 3.5” hot-swap HDD can also fit 2.5” HDD or SSD by additional 2.5” HDD converted
bracket purchasing.

Install 3.5” Hot-swap HDD
A. Place the 2.5” HDD into the converted bracket and secure it with 2 screws.
B. Place the 2.5” HDD on the
cage and fix the HDD with 4 screws (B-1) on both sides
of the HDD tray (B-2).

Installing or Replacing the Fan/Blower
A. Release the thumb screw(s) on the fan/blower module.
B. Hold the thumb screw firmlyand pull the fan/blower module out of the JBOD.

Installing or Replacing the Power Supply
A. Release 1 screw from each power module on the rear panel.
B. Hold the PSU lever and firmly pull the PSU out of the chassis.

Connecting the JBOD to the Host
A. Plug the cable into the connectors on the host and UP link on the primary ports
of the JBOD.
B. Turn the JBOD power switches on. It might take few minutes to turn on completely.
C. MUST wait until the JBOD is completely turned on before turning on the power
to the host.

Installing 2nd Expander Module Kit
A. Install the secondary expander module by attaching the connectors on the
backplane to the expander module.
B. Tighten the thumb screws and connect the SAS cables for uplink and downlink
on the expander module.
C-1. For 2U JBOD, align the holes on the interposer board with the holes on the
chassis. Tighten the screws to secure the board to the chassis. Last, connect the
SAS cables to the interposer board.
C-2. For 3U/4U JBOD, align the holes on the interposer board with the holes on
the bracket holder. Tighten the screws to secure the board to the holder.
Align the bracker holder to the chassis and tighten with screws. Last, connect the
SAS cables to the interposer board.
D. Insert one end of the console cable into COM2 port on rear panel and the
other end of the cable to the expander module (match the pin2 on J2 connector
with the “ ” sign on the cable).
