operate with a wider choice of temperatures than the owner settings allow. This guarantees
economic and efficient operation of the AC and creates power savings without generating
negative feedback from users
For example: In Cooling Mode with the Smart Remote Pro programmed to display a 5° Placebo
Effect and with the minimum temperature of the Cool range set to 23°. The user will see the
display on the remote scroll all the way down to 18°, with corresponding beeps from the AC,
however the AC will never actually operate lower than 23°. This feature guarantees economic
operation of the AC and creates power savings without generating negative feedback from
users.

Optional Countdown Timer. The remote will transmit the Power Off signal to the AC after a pre
programmed number of hours (0-24hours). This timer will restart every time the AC is turned
on. Optional Daily Off Timer. The remote will transmit the Power Off signal every day at the pre
programmed time, 7 days a week.

standard remote, including, Backlit LCD Screen, mode, fan, swing, room temperature display

How to Pair the Smart Remote Pro with your Air Conditioner
The Smart Remote Pairing Code list on page 7 lists all major brands of air conditioners and the
associated Smart Remote Brand Codes. These Smart Remote Codes do not relate to specific air
conditioner model numbers. The Smart Remote is compatible with any air conditioner.
If your brand is listed, use the Direct Code Input Method.
If your brand is not listed or if the listed codes are not successful with your AC, then use the
Auto Search function to find the matching code.
This is a link to Smart Remote Pairing information and videos:
https://www.airconoff.com.au/smart-remote-setup
How to Use Direct Code Input Method.
When your AC IS LISTED on the brand code list
1. From the Code Table, select the correct codes for your brand. Start with the first code,
if this does not operate your AC, try the second code and so on.
Note: There are often many possible codes. Each code in the list is separated by a comma","
or hyphen"-". Commas separate individual codes and hyphens show a range of codes. For
example: 0200-0205 this means 0200, 0201, 0202, 0203, 0204, 0205.
2.If necessary unlock the Set Up Function.
Press the "SELECT" key, the Model Code display willflash on the LCD. Using the keypad
enter the selected 4 digit code. Press each digit in turn. The
Smart Remote accepts the code automatically. To test a code use the Blue Power Button. If it
turns the AC “On”, try other function keys. If the AC does not turn “On” or if other functions do not
work correctly, then try another code. To input another code, press the "SELECT" key again and
enter the new code. Repeat this until all functions work correctly.

Troubleshooting
Blank Screen. Dim Screen, or if your Remote is not Responding
First change batteries. (Never mix new and old batteries together) If after changing batteries
the screen stays blank, the remote needs to be reset/rebooted. Reset the unit by pressing the
recessed “RESET” button on the keypad with a blunt point like a pencil.
Do not use a sharp point like a pin. The remote will not lose its settings when you change batteries
or if you use the reset button, but you will need to reset the clock if required to operate the Time of
Day Off Timer.
Incorrect LCD Display or Unusual Operation.
Reset the unit by pressing the recessed “RESET” button on the keypad with a blunt point like a
pencil. Do not use a sharp point like a pin. The remote will not lose its settings when you use
the reset button but you will need to reset the clock if required to operate the Time of Day Off Timer.
My Air Conditioner has a temperature readout on the front that is different to the Remote
Placebo Display
Some air conditioners have a digital LED temperature readout that shows the temperature setpoint
of the airconditioner. This will of course conflict with the Placebo setting readout on the remote
control. Therefore to use the Placebo effect on AC's like this, you will need to block out this display
on the AC. Lift the front cover of the AC, cover up the temperature readout screen with Black Gaffer
Tape (or similar) and then close the cover again.
During Set Up if the Smart Remote is not operating the AC correctly or if the AC won’t turn “Off”
Some codes are quite similar. During Set Up the AC may recognise a “partial” Code and you may
find that only some functions will work correctly. In that case continue pairing steps I and 2 until the
correct code is found. If a particular code turns the AC ‘On’ but not ‘Off’ it may be necessary to turn
the AC “Off” by using the AC’s original remote if available. Alternatively turn the unit off by using the
Emergency “Off” push button (usually located under the filter cover on the front of the AC wall unit.
(Please refer to your AC owners manual). Or you may turn the power supply to the AC “Off” and
“On” again via the mains supply or circuit breaker. Once the AC is back in standby mode continue
the code search. Repeat Pairing steps 1 and 2 until the correct code is found and the AC
works normally.
If this problem occurs and you are using Auto Search you may have not stopped the auto search
quick enough after the AC switched on. Retrace your steps back a few codes and try again.
During Set Up Keypad Inputs Not Working
If the keypad does not respond to a setting input it may be because the keypad has become locked,
If necessary unlock the Set Up Function again.
During Set Up. If only certain functions are available
If the Smart Remote Pro has been supplied with the Option “Factory Set and Locked” the
Temperature Range and Placebo Function are preset and not adjustable. Only the Pairing Function
will be available. 10
