Information - For Customers in the United States
The AIRPLAY™ components have been tested and found to comply with the limits for a
Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to
provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation.
This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not
installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference
to radio communications.
However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular

Your AIRPLAY™ Radio Wireless Controller has been designed with many advanced
features to vastly improve your gaming experience. Therefore, before operating your
new AIRPLAY™ controller we suggest that you read this instruction manual completely.
Doing so will ensure that you get the most enjoyment and best performance from your
AIRPLAY™ controller.

Compatibility
AIRPLAY™ is compatible for use alongside all licensed PlayStation® peripherals and
with all software that is designed for use with the standard PlayStation® digital
controller. AIRPLAY™ may also be used in combination with licensed digital
controllers, analog controllers, specialty controllers, and Sony® memory cards.
Terms used in this Manual
When referring to the operation of the various AIRPLAY™ buttons and triggers, the
following terms are used to described specific actions:
“Click” - means to quickly press and then release a button or trigger.
“Press” - means to press and hold a button or trigger for a prescribed period of time or
while some other operation is being carried out (usually another key or set of keys is
being clicked.)
Unpacking Your Ne AIRPLAY
Your new AIRPLAY™ Radio Wireless Controller package includes the following items:
Precautions
• To prevent hand strain, take a 15 minute break after each hour of play.
• Do not place any heavy objects on top of the AIRPLAY™ Receiver or Controller units.
• Refrain from rough handling, stepping on or applying mechanical shock to the
AIRPLAY™ Receiver and Controller units.
• Your AIRPLAY™ Receiver and Controller units were not designed to withstand
extreme temperatures. Do not leave these units close to heat sources, or in direct
sunlight (such as in the back of a car with its windows closed).
• Do not expose your AIRPLAY™ Receiver and Controller units to foreign materials
such as dust, sand or moisture of any kind.
• If the AIRPLAY™ Controller will not be used for an extended period of time remove
the battery from the reLOAD™ battery bay (refer to the “AIRPLAY™ Set Up - Battery
Installation” section of this manual).
• XI Intellectual Capital Inc. does not warrant AIRPLAY™ against damages caused by
the misuse or abuse of AIRPLAY™ as defined by this User Manual.
• XI Intellectual Capital Inc. does not warrant damages caused by the use of products
unsupported by XI Intellectual Capital Inc.
ATTENTION: For Safe Use Around Small Children
If AIRPLAY™ will be used in or around surroundings where there are small children
(ages from 1 to 6 years), ensure that the AIRPLAY™ Safety Cover is securely installed
over the AIRPLAY™ controller’s reLOAD™ battery bay whenever AIRPLAY™ is not
being used.
The AIRPLAY™ Safety Cover is designed to help reduce the chance of small children
removing the single AAbattery installed into the AIRPLAY™ Controller. AA BATTER-
IES ARE SMALL ENOUGH TO BE SWALLOWED AND THEREFORE ARE AHAZARD
TO SMALL CHILDREN.
The best way to ensure the safe use of AIRPLAY™ is to always keep the AIRPLAY™
Controller and receiver out of the reach of small children or make sure that an adult is
always present when AIRPLAY™ is being used by small children.
See section “AIRPLAY™ Setup: Safety Cover Installation and Use” for further Safety
Cover instructions.

Your new AIRPLAY™ comes equipped with the latest in Radio Wireless controller
technology. AIRPLAY™ has been designed to communicate with the PlayStation®
game console without sloppy wires or the need to point the controller directly at the

AIRPLAY Setup
Battery Installation
Your new AIRPLAY™ controller has been equipped with reLOAD™, the most
revolutionary battery swapping technology ever created. reLOAD™ allows you to load
and/or replace the single AAbattery (not included) used to power the AIRPLAY™
Controller, in less than a second. This means that you can keep playing until the
reLOAD™ “Low Battery Indicator” tells you that your battery is running low.
Before you can begin gaming with your new AIRPLAY™, you must install a battery. To
install a battery in your AIRPLAY™ Controller, do the following:
• Rest a single AA battery on the top of the reLOAD™ battery bay making sure that the
positive (+) battery terminal is oriented to the left of the reLOAD™ bay. The correct
battery polarity is represented by the battery polarity icon directly above the
reLOAD™ Low Battery Indicator.
(NOTE: The reLOAD™ battery bay has been specially designed with the battery’s
positive terminal channel on the left side. This design ensures that battery installation is
best accomplished with the battery set with the correct polarity inside the reLOAD™
battery bay. If you attempt to load a battery into the reLOAD™ battery bay and you
find that you have to use excessive force to seat the battery, STOP and check to see that
the positive battery terminal is oriented correct. To confirm correct polarity direction,
refer to the battery polarity icon located between the battery bay and the reLOAD™
Low Battery Indicator.)
... and the old battery drops out the bottom.
After changing the battery, simply continue playing. The reLOAD™ mechanism has
been designed to change the single AA battery in less than a second. This makes it
possible to change a battery “on the fly” without stopping your game.
CAUTION: To allow proper battery changing, ensure the bottom of the reLOAD™
battery bay is not obstructed when replacing the battery. ALWAYS point the bottom of
the reLOAD™ battery bay to the ground when changing a battery in AIRPLAY™.
Safety Cover Installation and Use
Although not necessary for regular use and operation of your AIRPLAY™ Controller,
the Safety Cover may be used to cover the reLOAD™ battery bay should you have
small children in your house. AA BATTERIESARE SMALL ENOUGH TO BE
SWALLOWED AND THEREFORE AREA HAZARD TO SMALLCHILDREN (for more
information refer to the PRECAUTIONS section at the front of this manual).

• Grip the controller with both hands in playing
position. Apply even pressure on each end of the
battery using both thumbs until the battery snaps
into the fingers of the reLOAD™ battery bay (refer
to accompanying diagram).
Battery Replacement
Changing the battery in your AIRPLAY™ Controller
is just as easy as installing the first battery. To
replace the battery in your AIRPLAY™ Controller,
follow the steps outlined in the Battery Installation
section above. As the new battery moves into place
in the reLOAD™ battery bay, it will push the old
battery out the bottom of the reLOAD™ battery bay
(refer to accompanying diagram).
Push the new battery in from the top...
To install the Safety Cover on your
AIRPLAY™ Controller follow these steps:
• Hold the AIRPLAY™ Controller firmly in
one hand at the middle section of the
Controller housing.
• Using your other hand, set the Safety Cover
over the bottom of the front housing of the
reLOAD™ battery bay. Because the Safety
Cover is made of a flexible plastic, you can
spread open the other end of the Safety Cover
as you push it into place at the top of the
reLOAD™ battery bay (refer to accompanying
diagram).

AIRPLAY™ also allows for the use of Sony® memory cards.
To install the AIRPLAY™ Receiver, follow these steps:
• Ensure that the PlayStation® game console is turned off.
• If you have any Sony® Memory Cards, make sure that you have unplugged them
from the game console memory ports.
• Insert the AIRPLAY™ Receiver (with the AIRPLAY™ logo facing upwards) into either
of the two available game console controller ports.
• Reinstall any Sony® Memory Cards back into their respective game console ports.
• Turn on the power to your PlayStation® game console and get ready for some Radio
Wireless gaming fun.
(NOTE: The bottom of the AIRPLAY™ Receiver has been specially designed with a
forward foot to give it support using the same flat surface that your PlayStation® is
resting on. Ensure that the AIRPLAY™ Receiver is being supported while it is plugged
into the PlayStation® game console. )
Operating your AIRPLAY Radio Wireless Controller
At this point you should have installed the AIRPLAY™ Receiver and loaded a battery
into AIRPLAY™’s reLOAD™ battery bay. The PlayStation® game console should also
be powered-up.
Once AIRPLAY™ has been powered-on, the AIRPLAY™ Controller functions identically
to a standard PlayStation® digital controller. AIRPLAY™ also boasts some additional
features, which are accessed via the PROGRAM key. The following paragraphs describe
how to Power-On the AIRPLAY™ Controller and how to make use of these additional
features.
Power On/Off
Power-on AIRPLAY™ by clicking the POWER/CHANNEL key. This key is also used to
change channels once the power is on. When AIRPLAY™ is powered on (when the
POWER/CHANNEL key is clicked initially), the “reLOAD” indicator flashes 3 times
quickly to indicate that the unit’s power has turned on. When the POWER/CHANNEL
button is clicked subsequently (to change channels), the reLOAD™ indicator is not lit.
AIRPLAY™ does not have an off switch. The AIRPLAY™ Controller automatically
powers-down when no buttons have been clicked for 5 minutes. When AIRPLAY™ is
restarted, all auto-repeat settings and macro settings are lost, and all AIRPLAY™ keys
are reset to their default settings. Also, when the AIRPLAY™ controller is restarted, it
powers-up on its default radio channel.
The AIRPLAY™ controller may be powered down immediately by pressing (and
holding) the PROGRAM key, clicking the POWER/CHANNEL key and then releasing
the PROGRAM key. Powering the AIRPLAY™ Controller off and then on again is a
handy way to clear all Programmed keys, clear all Auto-Repeat keys and return
AIRPLAY™ to its default channel.
reLOAD™ Low Battery Indicator
When the battery is low, AIRPLAY™ begins to flash the “reLOAD” Low Battery
Indicator once every 3 seconds. When this occurs, it’s time to install a new battery into
the reLOAD™ battery bay (refer to the “Battery Replacement” section of this User
Manual).

• To remove the Safety Cover from your
AIRPLAY™ Controller, insert a flat headed
screw driver (or similar tool) into the slot on
either end cap of the Safety Cover and spread
open the Safety Cover channel before twisting
it off of the reLOAD™ battery bay (refer to
accompanying diagram).
(NOTE: Be sure to remove the Safety Cover
before attempting to replace the battery in your
AIRPLAY™ Controller.)
Connecting your AIRPLAY™
to a PlayStation® game
console
Because AIRPLAY™ is a Wireless
controller, the only component that
must be connected directly to the
PlayStation® game console is the
AIRPLAY™ Receiver unit. The
AIRPLAY™ Receiver will work in
either of the two controller ports
located at the front of the
PlayStation® game console (refer to
accompanying diagram).

Para configurar su Controlador AIRPLAYTM a su canal por omisión, oprimir (y retener)
la tecla POWER/CHANNEL, activar le tecla START y luego liberar la tecla POWER/
CHANNEL.
(NOTA: Cuando se apaga y se vuelve a encender, el Controlador retorna nuevamente a
su canal por omisión).
Reiniciar el IRPL YTM
Reinicie primero el Controlador. Si esto no da resultado, reinicie al Receptor y a
continuación, el Controlador.
1. REINICIAR EL CONTROLADOR

Verificar el nivel de comunicación básico del AIRPLAYTM
La mejor forma de verificar si el AIRPLAYTM está comunicándose con la
PLAYSTATION® correctamente, es hacerlo SIN USAR UN JUEGO.
•Apague la PLAYSTATION®
•Remueva el CD de juegos de la PLAYSTATION®
•Asegúrese que el Receptor AIRPLAYTM está correctamente instalado en el
puerto 1 de la PLAYSTATION® (esta prueba requiere que el AIRPLAYTM
esté conectado al puerto 1).
•Encienda la PLAYSTATION®
•Reinicie el Controlador (vea la sección respectiva)
El menú principal (MAIN MENU) de la PLAYSTATION® va a aparecer en pantalla.
•Trate de alternar entre los dos ítems del menú (Tarjeta de Memoria y
Reproductora de CD) usando las teclas up/down (arriba / abajo) en el
AIRPLAYTM.
Si no funciona, es posible que exista una interferencia de radio desde otra
fuente. Intente usar otro canal.
•Oprima la tecla POWER/CHANNEL para cambiar al siguiente canal (el

Una vez que usted puede moverse verticalmente por este menú, seleccione la
reproductora de CD con la tecla (X) en su AIRPLAYTM. Trate de mover el cursor
por la pantalla mediante las teclas de dirección. Trate de cambiar de canal
nuevamente hasta obtener un buen rendimiento. Una vez logrado, tome nota
de cual es el canal que funciona mejor (en otras palabras, después de encender
el AIRPLAYTM, cuantas veces oprimió la tecla para obtener el canal deseado).

Auto-Pause
AIRPLAY™ will automatically pause most games and the reLOAD™ Low Battery
Indicator will flash for as long as possible, prompting the user to install a new battery in
the reLOAD™ battery bay (refer to the “Battery Replacement” section of this User
Manual).
(NOTE: AIRPLAY™ pauses most games by sending a START key press to the
PlayStation®. If AIRPLAY™ automatically pauses your game, you may un-pause most
games by pressing the START key.)
Auto-Repeat
Clicking the PROGRAM key and then clicking one of the 4 triggers or 4 standard control
keys immediately afterward puts that key or trigger into “Auto-Repeat” mode. From
then on during the session, the pressed key automatically repeats at 10 Hz (10 times a
second) when held down by the user.
Any number or combination of the 4 triggers and 4 standard control keys can be set to
Auto-Repeat. To set multiple triggers or keys to Auto-Repeat, click the PROGRAM key
and then click a trigger or control key to set Auto-Repeat on, then click the PROGRAM
key again and then click the next trigger or control key which you want to Auto-Repeat.
Continue to repeat this process until you have turnedAuto-Repeat on all of the desired
triggers and keys.
The Auto-Repeat mode of operation may be cancelled for any key by repeating the
PROGRAM sequence. Click the PROGRAM key and then click the desired trigger or
control key to turn off the Auto-Repeat mode.
Programmable (Macro) Sequences
One “macro” sequence of keystrokes may be recorded and assigned to any one of the 4
triggers or 4 control keys. The maximum duration of the sequence is 5 seconds, with a
maximum number of keystrokes of 20. The recording sequence records the keystrokes,
order and timing. Playback is at 100% of the recording speed. Once the sequence is
recorded, it can be played back, simply by pressing the assigned key. Recording is done
as follows:
1. Press (hold down) the PROGRAM key, click one of the 4 triggers or one of
the 4 control keys.
2. Release the PROGRAM key.
3. Enter the keystroke sequence you wish to have programmed.
4. Click the PROGRAM button to end the recording.
Once recording has ended, AIRPLAY™ discards any time delays at the beginning and
the end of the recording, and assigns the sequence to the selected key. The sequence
may be cleared by repeating the steps above while omitting step 3. Once cleared, the
assigned key resumes its original function.
Only one macro sequence may be stored at a time. If a second macro sequence is
recorded, the first macro sequence will be lost.
(NOTE: During the recording process, theAIRPLAY™ Controller DOES NOT transmit
the recorded sequence to the receiver. We suggest the following approach when
recording macro sequences. Pause the current game record your macro using the
instructions above on your AIRPLAY™ Controller, then unpause and test the macro in
the game.)
Power-Down
After 5 minutes of inactivity (no keys being pressed or clicked), AIRPLAY™ powers
down automatically (turns off). This feature is designed to save battery power when
AIRPLAY™ is not in use.
When AIRPLAY™ is restarted again by clicking the POWER/CHANNEL key, all
previous macro sequences are lost and all keys return to their default, non-repeating,
functionality.
(NOTE: To temporarily disable the automatic Power-Down feature, press the PRO-
GRAM button, click the SELECT button and then release the PROGRAM button. The
minute you manually Power-Down AIRPLAY™ or remove it’s battery, the Power-Down
Mode feature will return by default.)
Radio Communications
AIRPLAY™’s radio design supports 16 user channels. Sixteen channels are required for
several reasons.
1) During Standard operation of one AIRPLAY™ Controller, the 16 channels allow users
to select channels with minimal interference in their areas from other rogue radio
frequency emitting devices (single AIRPLAY™ Configuration).
2) During Dual operation of two AIRPLAY™ Controllers, the 16 channels allow users to
select channels with minimal interference from other nearby AIRPLAY™ Controllers
(dual AIRPLAY™ Configuration).
3) Other possibilities of operation include:
•multiple AIRPLAY™ Controllers connected to the same PlayStation® using one
MULTITAP™ extender or
•the extreme case in which there are many AIRPLAY™ Controllers connected to
two cable-connected PlayStation®s, each with 8 users (both MULTITAP™
extenders used on both ports of both PlayStation®s - Multiple AIRPLAY™
Configuration).
Refer to each of the following sections as they apply to your use of the AIRPLAY™
Radio Wireless Controller for PlayStation® game consoles.
Single AIRPLAY™ Configuration
AIRPLAY™’s circuitry has been designed to reduce the effect of stray radio interference

that may be generated by the PlayStation®, by your TV, or any other radio generating
devices which can cause interference within the operating range of your AIRPLAY™
Controller. However, interference still may occur and thus impede the performance of
your AIRPLAY™ Controller.
If you are experiencing inadequate performance while using your AIRPLAY™
Controller, it may be caused by external radio interference from other local sources
which are close to your gaming area. If this is the case, changing the channel of
operation of your AIRPLAY™ Controller may reduce or eliminate the effect of such
external interference.
• Once your AIRPLAY™ Controller has been powered up (i.e. first press of the
POWER/CHANNEL key), any subsequent presses of the POWER/CHANNEL key will
change the channel of the controller and its mated receiver.
• Press the POWER/CHANNEL key and attempt to use the AIRPLAY™ Controller. The
channel can be changed up to 15 times before it goes back to the default channel of
operation. Step through all 16 channels until you find the channel which provides you
with optimal performance for your specific conditions.
Multi-User AIRPLAY™ Configuration (Advanced)
(NOTE: Read this section if you wish to use two or more AIRPLAY™ Controllers
together on the same PlayStation® game console.)
AIRPLAY™ can be used in conjunction with any combination of licensed digital
controllers, analog controllers, specialty controllers, and Sony® memory cards. This is
achieved by either connecting to the standard ports which come with your PlayStation®
game console or by connecting your controllers to your PlayStation® game console
using MULTITAP™ (MULTITAP™ allows the user to connect four controller devices
and four memory cards into a single PlayStation® controller port. For more information
about MULTITAP™ refer to your PlayStation® Instruction Manual or contact your
favorite retail outlet).
Each product pair (AIRPLAY™ Controller/Receiver) is matched using a “Mating
Number”. Both components, Controller and Receiver, are tagged with the same
“Mating Number” on the sticker underneath the product. The Mating Number is
represented by an 8 symbol function key code (e.g. 5ssln5nl). This enables the
user to easily check which Controller is mated with which Receiver. The symbols from
the control keys are used to represent the Mating Number.
The last two symbols in the Mating Number of every AIRPLAY™ define its default
channel.
For example, if the Mating Number on the back of an AIRPLAY™ Controller is
“nssl55s5”, the default channel for that AIRPLAY™ pair is channel s5 (s5=
channel 14). On power-up, every AIRPLAY™ Controller/Receiver pair always starts on

Indicador de bajo nivel de batería reLOADTM
Cuando la batería está por agotarse, el Indicador de bajo nivel de batería reLOADTM del
AIRPLAYTM titila una vez cada 3 segundos. Cuando esto ocurre, hay que instalar una
batería nueva en el compartimiento reLOADTM (Refiérase a la sección Reemplazo de
batería de este manual).
Auto-Pausa
El AIRPLAYTM va a poner los juegos en modo Pausa y el Indicador de bajo nivel de
batería reLOADTM va a titilar durante el mayor tiempo posible, indicando al usuario que
instale una batería nueva en el compartimiento reLOADTM (Refiérase a la sección
Reemplazo de batería de este manual).
(NOTA: El AIRPLAYTM pone los juegos en modo Pausa enviando una señal de tecla

Auto-Repetición

El modo de operación Auto-Repetición para cualquier tecla se puede cancelar repitiendo
la secuencia PROGRAM. Oprima la tecla PROGRAM y el disparador o tecla
seleccionada para desactivar el modo Auto-Repetición.
Secuencias programables (Macros)
A cualquiera de los 4 disparadores o 4 teclas de control se le puede grabar y asignar una
secuencia “macro” de selección de teclas. La duración máxima de la secuencia es de 5
segundos y con un máximo de 20 pasos de teclado. La grabación de la secuencia, graba
los pasos de teclado, el orden y los tiempos. La reproducción se realiza al 100% de la
velocidad de grabación. Una vez que se ha grabado la secuencia, se la puede reproducir
simplemente oprimiendo el disparador o tecla a la que ha sido asignada. La grabación
se realiza de la siguiente forma:
1. Oprima (y sostenga) la tecla PROGRAM y active uno de los 4 disparadores o 4
teclas de control.
2. Soltar la tecla PROGRAM.
3. Realizar la secuencia de teclas que se desea programar.
4. Oprimir la tecla PROGRAM para finalizar la grabación.
Una vez que se ha finalizado la grabación, el AIRPLAYTM descarta las demoras de
tiempo perdidas al principio y al final de la grabación y asigna la secuencia a la tecla
seleccionada. La secuencia se puede borrar repitiendo los pasos mencionados
anteriormente pero omitiendo el paso (3). Una vez borrada la secuencia, la tecla
asignada retorna a su función original.
Solo se puede almacenar una secuencia “macro” por vez. Si se graba una segunda
secuencia, se perderá la primera.
(NOTA: Durante el proceso de la grabación, el controlador AIRPLAYTM NO
TRANSMITE la secuencia grabada al Receptor. Le sugerimos el siguiente criterio para
grabar una secuencia “macro”. Ponga el juego en modo Pausa; grabe la secuencia
“macro” en su Controlador AIRPLAYTM de acuerdo a las instrucciones anteriores y por
último saque al juego de su modo Pausa y pruebe el “macro” en el juego.
Apagado Automático (Power down)
Luego de 5 minutos de inactividad (ninguna tecla es activada), el AIRPLAYTM se apaga
automáticamente. Esta prestación está diseñada para economizar energía de la batería
cuando no se está utilizando el AIRPLAYTM.
Cuando se vuelve a encender el AIRPLAYTM activando la tecla POWER/CHANNEL, se
pierde cualquier secuencia “macro” anterior, como así también las configuraciones Auto
Repetición de las teclas y disparadores, retornando todos ellos a sus funciones por
omisión.
(NOTA: Para desactivar en forma temporaria la función de Apagado Automático,
mantenga oprimida la tecla PROGRAM, oprima el botón SELECT y luego libere la tecla
PROGRAM. Luego que usted apague manualmente el AIRPLAYTM o haga un reemplazo
de la batería, la función de Apagado Automático volverá nuevamente al modo por
omisión.)
Comunicación por Radio
El diseño de radio del AIRPLAYTM provee 16 canales. Estos 16 canales son necesarios por
varias razones:
1) Durante la operación convencional del Controlador AIRPLAYTM, estos 16 canales le
permiten al usuario elegir aquellos con menor interferencia desde otros dispositivos
emisores de radio frecuencia (configuración con un solo AIRPLAYTM)
2) Durante la operación Dual con dos Controladores AIRPLAYTM, los 16 canales le
permiten al usuario seleccionar aquellos con menor interferencia con el otro
Controlador AIRPLAYTM cercano (Configuración AIRPLAYTM dual).

In a Multi-User gaming situation (i.e. two or more AIRPLAY™s being used from the
same PlayStation® configuration) each AIRPLAY™ pair must be set to a different
channel.
Perform the following procedure after you have connected the AIRPLAY™s to the
PlayStation® configuration:
• Check the channel (i.e. the last two symbols on the Mating Number) on the back of
each of the AIRPLAY™ Controllers being used. If the channels are different, no
adjustments will be necessary and you can proceed with the startup and playing of
your game.
• If the default channel for two or more controllers happens to be the same, you will
have to manually set the channel on all but one of those controllers (refer to the
section below on “Manually Setting the AIRPLAY™ Channel”).
Manually Setting the AIRPLAY™ Channel
When the POWER/CHANNEL key is pressed to change channels, the channels are
changed in sequence, starting from the default channel and proceeding through the
sequence of 16 available channels as follows:
1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8 - 9 - 10 - 11 - 12 - 13 - 14 - 15 - 16 - 1 - 2 ...
In some cases, it may be desirable to change directly to a specific channel. The user may
do this with a simple key sequence. For example, to change AIRPLAY™ to channel 8,
the user would do the following:
1. Press (and hold down) the POWER/CHANNEL key.
2. Click the 5key.
3. Click the s key.
4. Release the POWER/CHANNEL key.
To set your AIRPLAY™ controller back to its default channel, Press (hold down) the
POWER/CHANNEL button, Click the START button, then Release the POWER/
CHANNEL button.
(NOTE: Whenever the controller is Powered-down and then up again, it will return back
to its default channel.)
RESET IRPL Y
Reset the controller first. If that doesn’t help, reset the receiver and then
reset the controller.
1. RESET THE CONTROLLER.
Power AIRPLAY™ OFF and then back ON again.
• Press (and Hold) the PROGRAM key.
• Click the POWER/CHANNEL key.
• Release the PROGRAM key (the controller is now OFF).
• Click the POWER/CHANNEL key.
The reLOAD™ indicator should now flash 3 times indicating that the
controller is ON. If the reLOAD™ indicator does not flash 3 times, do this:
• Remove the AA battery (push up on the battery from below).
• Wait 10 seconds.
• Replace the AA battery (push in from top with both thumbs).
• Click the POWER/CHANNEL key.
If the reLOAD™ indicator still doesn’t flash 3 times, your battery may be
dead or inserted backwards (see CHECK THE BATTERY section).
2. RESET THE RECEIVER
• Power OFF your PlayStation®.
• Ensure that the AIRPLAY™ receiver is inserted fully into the
PlayStation® (if you are not using AIRPLAY™ in Port 1, ensure that
another controller is plugged into Port 1).
• Wait 10 seconds.
• Power the PlayStation® back ON.
• It’s a good idea to now RESET the AIRPLAY™ controller (see RESET
THE CONTROLLER section).
CHECK AIRPLAY™’s BASIC COMMUNICATIONS
The best way to check that AIRPLAY™ is communicating with the
PlayStation® properly is to do so WITHOUT USING A GAME.
• Power OFF your PlayStation®.
• Remove the game CD from the PlayStation®.
• Ensure the AIRPLAY™ receiver is installed correctly in Port 1 of the
PlayStation® (this test requires that AIRPLAY™ be plugged into Port 1).
• Power ON the PlayStation®.

Como operar su Controlador Radio-inalámbrico AIRPLAYTM

Una vez que se ha encendido el AIRPLAYTM , el Controlador AIRPLAYTM funciona de

Encendido (Power ON/OFF)

prender el AIRPLAYTM, se pierden todas la configuraciones de Auto-Repetición y la

• Con una mano, sostenga el Controlador AIRPLAYTM

• RESET THE CONTROLLER (see this section).
The PlayStation®’s MAIN MENU will appear on the screen.
• Try switching between the two menu items (MEMORY CARD and CD
PLAYER) using the up/down direction keys on AIRPLAY™.
If this doesn’t work, you may be experiencing radio interference from
another radio source. Try using a different channel:
• Click the POWER/CHANNEL key to change to the next channel
(AIRPLAY™ has 16 channels to chose from).
• Try the up/down direction keys again on AIRPLAY™.
• If required, change channels again (15 clicks of the POWER/
CHANNEL key brings you back to the default channel).
Once you can move up and down through this menu, select the CD PLAYER
using the (X) key on AIRPLAY™. Try moving the pointer around on the
screen with the direction keys. Try changing channels again until you get
good performance. Once you get good performance, note what channel
works best (in other words, the number of channel change clicks required
after power-up).

WIRELESS controller, see the following sections:
THE KEYS ARENT BEHAVING PROPERLY
You may have keys programmed for auto repeat or macros. To clear this, do
the following:
• RESET AIRPLAY™ (see this section).
You may be experiencing radio interference. See SLUGGISH PERFOR-
MANCE section.
AIRPLAY DOESNT OPERATE
• CHECK THE BATTERY (see this section).
• RESET AIRPLAY™ (see this section).
• Ensure AIRPLAY™ (or another controller) is plugged into Port 1 of the
PlayStation®.
• Objects containing large amounts of metal may interfere with
AIRPLAY™’s radio transmissions if the objects are placed between the
AIRPLAY™ controller and the PlayStation®. Try removing such
objects, or moving your gaming setup to avoid them.
• Ensure that the AIRPLAY™ controller is within 30 feet (10m) of the
PlayStation® console. In areas with excessive radio interference you
may need to be closer.
• If you’re using more than one AIRPLAY™, ensure that each one is

If AIRPLAY™ works fine in Port 1 of your PlayStation® but doesn’t work in
other Ports, you may need to adjust your game settings, or your
PlayStation® may require servicing.
If AIRPLAY™ doesn’t operate at all, try this:
• Operate your PlayStation® with a Sony® wired controller plugged
into Port 1.
If your PlayStation® still doesn’t work when using a wired controller, your
PlayStation® console may require servicing.

Para suministrar energía a su Controlador AIRPLAYTM, en menos de un segundo,
reLOADTM le permite instalar o reemplazar la única batería AA (no incluida) usada. Esto

Compatibilité
AIRPLAYMC est compatible et peut être utilisé avec tous les périphériques PlayStation®
licenciés et avec tous les logiciels qui sont conçus pour l’utilisation avec la commande
numérique PlayStation® standard. AIRPLAYMC peut également être utilisé en
combinaison avec des commandes numériques, des commandes analogues, des
commandes spécialisées licenciées et des cartes-mémoire Sony®.
Termes utilisés dans ce guide
En ce qui concerne le fonctionnement des divers boutons et déclencheurs AIRPLAYMC,
nous utilisons les termes suivants pour décrire certaines actions :
« Cliquez » - signifie appuyer rapidement sur un bouton ou un déclencheur, puis le relâcher.
« Appuyez » - signifie appuyer sur un bouton ou un déclencheur sans le relâcher pendant
une durée prescrite ou pendant qu’une autre opération est en cours (habituellement, il

fois que vous avez joué pendant une heure.
• Évitez de placer des objets lourds sur les unités Récepteur et Commande

de marcher dessus ou de leur faire subir des chocs mécaniques.

source de chaleur ou à la lumière directe du soleil (p. ex. dans la lunette arrière

Installation de la pile
Votre nouvelle Commande AIRPLAYMC est munie de reLOADMC, la technologie la plus
révolutionnaire qui ait jamais été créée pour changer la pile. reLOADMC vous permet de
mettre en place ou de changer, en moins d’une seconde, l’unique pile AA (non comprise)
utilisée pour actionner la Commande AIRPLAYMC. Vous pouvez donc continuer de jouer
jusqu’à ce que l’« Indicateur de pile faible » reLOADMC vous dise que votre pile est près
d’être épuisée.
Avant de commencer à jouer avec votre nouveau AIRPLAYMC, vous devez y installer une
pile. Voici comment faire pour installer une pile dans votre Commande AIRPLAYMC :
• Posez une seule pile AA sur le dessus du compartiment à pile reLOADMC, en vous
assurant que la borne positive (+) de la pile est orientée vers la gauche du
compartiment reLOADMC. La polarité correcte de la pile est représentée par l’icône
de polarité de la pile située directement au-dessus de l’indicateur de pile faible
reLOADMC.
(REMARQUE : Le compartiment à pile reLOADMC a été spécialement conçu de façon que
le canal de la borne positive de la pile se trouve à gauche. Cette conception vous assure
que la pile sera installée comme il faut, la pile avec la polarité correcte se trouvant à
l’intérieur du compartiment à pile reLOADMC. Si vous essayez de mettre la pile dans le
compartiment à pile reLOADMC et que vous devez exercer une force excessive pour
l’enfoncer en place, ARRÊTEZ et vérifiez si la borne positive de la pile est orientée
comme il faut. Pour vous assurer que la polarité est correcte, consultez l’icône de la
polarité de la pile située entre le compartiment à pile et l’indicateur de pile faible
reLOADMC.)
… et la vieille pile sortira par le bas.
Après avoir changé la pile, vous n’avez qu’à continuer de jouer. Le mécanisme
reLOADMC a été conçu pour vous permettre de changer la pile AA en moins d’une
seconde. Vous pouvez donc changer la pile « en plein vol », sans interrompre votre jeu.
ATTENTION: Pour que le changement de la pile se fasse comme il faut,
assurez-vous que le fond du compartiment à pile reLOADMC n’est pas obstrué quand
vous changez la pile. Dirigez TOUJOURS le fond du compartiment à pile reLOADMC
vers le sol quand vous changez la pile de l’AIRPLAYMC.
• Saisissez la commande des deux mains, en
position de jeu. Appliquez une pression uniforme
sur chaque extrémité de la pile avec les deux
pouces jusqu’à ce que la pile s’enclenche dans les
doigts du compartiment à pile reLOADMC (voir le
diagramme ci-joint).
Changement de la pile
Changer la pile de votre Commande AIRPLAYMC est
tout aussi facile que d’installer la pile pour la
première fois. Pour changer la pile de votre
Commande AIRPLAYMC, suivez les étapes indiquées à
la section « Installation de la pile » ci-dessus. Lorsque
la pile neuve se met en place dans le compartiment à
pile reLOADMC, elle poussera l’ancienne pile par le
fond du compartiment à pile reLOADMC (voir le
diagramme qui accompagne le texte).

l’AIRPLAYMC.
Si cela ne fonctionne pas, c’est peut-être qu’il y a des interférences radiophoniques
provenant d’une autre source d’ondes radiophoniques. Essayez d’utiliser un autre
canal :
• Cliquez sur la touche POWER/CHANNEL pour passer au canal suivant
(l’AIRPLAYMC offre un choix de 16 canaux).
• Essayez de nouveau les touches de direction haut/bas de l’AIRPLAYMC.
• En cas de besoin, changez encore de canal (en cliquant 15 fois sur la touche
POWER/CHANNEL, vous revenez au canal par défaut).
Une fois que vous pouvez vous déplacer vers le haut et vers le bas suivant tout ce
menu, choisissez le LECTEUR DE CD au moyen de la touche (X) sur
l’AIRPLAYMC. Essayez de déplacer la flèche un peu partout sur l’écran avec les
touches de direction. Essayez encore de changer de canal jusqu’à ce que vous
obteniez une bonne performance. Une fois que vous avez obtenu une bonne
performance, prenez note du canal qui fonctionne le mieux (autrement dit,
comptez le nombre de fois que vous devez cliquer pour changer de canal après
avoir allumé l’appareil).
Si vous avez des problèmes spécifiques à vous servir de votre Commande SANS FIL DE
RADIO AIRPLAYMC, voyez les sections suivantes :
LES TOUCHES NE FONCTIONNENT PAS COMME IL FAUT
Vous avez peut-être des touches programmées pour la répétition automatique ou
pour des macros. Pour les effacer, faites ce qui suit :
• REMETTEZ l’AIRPLAYMC EN SERVICE (voir cette section).
Il s’agit peut-être d’interférences radiophoniques. Voir la section PERFORMANCE
MOLLE.
LAIRPLAYMC NE FONCTIONNE PAS
• VÉRIFIEZ LA PILE (voir cette section).
• Faites la REMISE EN SERVICE DE L’AIRPLAYMC (voir cette section).
• Assurez-vous que l’AIRPLAYMC (ou une autre commande) est branchée sur
l’accès 1 de la PlayStation®.
• Les objets contenant de grandes quantités de métal peuvent causer du
brouillage ou des interférences avec les transmissions radiophoniques de
l’AIRPLAYMC s’ils sont placés entre la Commande AIRPLAYMC et la
PlayStation®. Pour les éviter, essayez d’enlever ces objets ou de changer votre
jeu de place.
• Assurez-vous que la Commande AIRPLAYMC se trouve dans un rayon de
30 pieds (10 m) de la console de la PlayStation®. Dans les régions où existent
des interférences radiophoniques excessives, vous devrez peut-être vous
rapprocher davantage.
• Si vous utilisez plus d’un AIRPLAYMC, assurez-vous que chacun d’eux utilise

Si l’AIRPLAYMC fonctionne bien s’il est branché sur l’accès 1 de votre
PlayStation®, mais ne fonctionne pas s’il est branché sur les autres, vous devrez
peut-être ajuster la disposition de votre jeu. Ou bien, votre PlayStation® a
peut-être besoin d’un service d’entretien.
Si l’AIRPLAYMC ne fonctionne pas du tout, essayez ce qui suit :
• Faites fonctionner votre PlayStation® avec une commande à fil Sony® branchée
sur l’accès 1.
Si votre PlayStation® ne fonctionne pas lorsque vous utilisez une commande à fil,
c’est peut-être votre console PlayStation® qui a besoin d’un service d’entretien.
Autrement, votre AIRPLAYMC a peut-être besoin d’un service d’entretien. Dans ce
cas, appelez le numéro d’urgence d’AIRPLAYMC pour demander de l’aide :

Bien qu’il ne soit pas nécessaire pour l’utilisation et le fonctionnement normaux de votre
Commande AIRPLAYMC, vous pouvez utiliser le couvercle de sécurité pour couvrir le
compartiment à pile reLOADMC si vous avez de petits enfants chez vous. LES PILES AA
SONT ASSEZ PETITES POUR POUVOIR ÊTRE AVALÉES ET ELLES CONSTITUENT
DONC UN RISQUE POUR LES PETITS ENFANTS (pour de plus amples
renseignements, voir la section PRÉCAUTIONS à l’avant de ce guide).
AIRPLAYMC permet également d’utiliser les cartes-mémoire Sony®.
Pour installer le Récepteur AIRPLAYMC, suivez les étapes ci-après :
• Assurez-vous que la console de jeu PlayStation® est éteinte.
• Si vous avez des Cartes-mémoire Sony®, assurez-vous de les avoir débranchées
des accès-mémoire de la console de jeu.
• Insérez le Récepteur AIRPLAYMC (le logo AIRPLAYMC étant tourné vers le haut)
dans l’un ou l’autre des deux accès de commande de la console de jeu.
• Réinstallez toutes Cartes-mémoire Sony® dans leurs accès respectifs sur la console
de jeu.
• Allumez votre console de jeu PlayStation® et apprêtez-vous à jouer avec votre
Commande sans fil de radio - c’est très amusant!
(REMARQUE : Le bas du Récepteur AIRPLAYMC a été spécialement conçu avec un pied
vers l’avant pour lui donner plus de support grâce à la même surface plane que celle sur
laquelle repose votre PlayStation®. Assurez-vous que le Récepteur AIRPLAYMC est
supporté pendant qu’il est branché sur la console de jeu PlayStation®.)
Fonctionnement de votre Commande sans fil de radio AIRPL AYMC
Maintenant, vous devriez déjà avoir installé le Récepteur AIRPLAYMC et mis une pile
dans le compartiment à pile reLOADMC de l’AIRPLAYMC. La console de jeu PlayStation®
devrait aussi être allumée.
Une fois l’ AIRPLAYMC allumé, la Commande AIRPLAYMC fonctionne de la même façon
que la commande numérique PlayStation® standard. AIRPLAYMC comporte quelques
caractéristiques supplémentaires, auxquelles vous avez accès grâce à la touche
PROGRAM (programme). Les paragraphes suivants décrivent comment mettre la
Commande AIRPLAYMC en marche et comment utiliser ces caractéristiques
supplémentaires.
Pour allumer/éteindre l’appareil
Allumez l’AIRPLAYMC en cliquant sur la touche POWER/CHANNEL (alimentation
électrique/canal). Cette touche s’utilise aussi pour changer de canal une fois que le
courant est mis. Lorsque l’AIRPLAYMC est allumé (après que vous aurez cliqué
initialement sur POWER/CHANNEL), l’indicateur « reLOAD » (recharge) clignote
rapidement 3 fois pour indiquer que l’appareil a été allumé. Lorsque vous cliquez sur le
bouton POWER/CHANNEL après cela (pour changer de canal), l’indicateur reLOADMC
ne s’allume pas.
L’AIRPLAYMC n’a pas d’interrupteur arrêt. La Commande AIRPLAYMC s’éteint
automatiquement lorsqu’on n’a cliqué sur aucun bouton pendant 5 minutes. Lorsque

• Tenez fermement la Commande AIRPLAYMC d’une
main au niveau de la section centrale du boîtier de la
Commande.
• De l’autre main, placez le couvercle de sécurité
par-dessus le fond du boîtier avant du compartiment
à pile reLOADMC. Comme le couvercle de sécurité est
en plastique souple, vous pouvez écarter l’autre
extrémité du couvercle de sécurité pendant que vous
le poussez en place sur le haut du compartiment à pile
reLOADMC (voir le diagramme).
• Pour enlever le couvercle de sécurité de votre
Commande AIRPLAYMC, insérez un tournevis à tête
plate (ou un outil semblable) dans la fente du
capuchon de l’une ou l’autre extrémité du couvercle
de sécurité et écartez le canal du couvercle de
sécurité avant de le plier pour le retirer du
compartiment à pile reLOADMC (voir le
diagramme).
(REMARQUE : Ne manquez pas d’enlever le
couvercle de sécurité avant d’essayer de changer
la pile de votre Commande AIRPLAYMC.)

Dans une situation de jeu à usagers multiples (p. ex. lorsqu’on utilise deux AIRPLAYMC
ou plus avec la même configuration de la PlayStation®, chaque paire d’AIRPLAYMC doit
être réglée sur un canal différent.
Effectuez l’opération suivante après avoir branché les AIRPLAYMC sur la configuration
de la PlayStation® :
• Vérifiez le canal (p. ex. les deux derniers symboles du numéro d’assortiment) au dos
de chacune des Commandes AIRPLAYMC utilisées. Si les canaux sont différents, il n’y
aura besoin de faire aucun réglage et vous pourrez mettre l’appareil en marche et jouer à
votre jeu.
• Au cas où le canal par défaut de deux commandes ou plus est le même, vous devrez
régler le canal manuellement sur toutes ces commandes, sauf une (voir la section
ci-dessous intitulée « Réglage manuel du canal de l’AIRPLAYMC »).
Réglage manuel du canal de l’AIRPLAYMC
Lorsque vous appuyez sur la touche POWER/CHANNEL pour changer de canal, les
canaux changent dans l’ordre fixé, en commençant par le canal par défaut et en passant
par la séquence des 16 canaux disponibles, comme suit :
1 – 2 – 3 – 4 – 5 – 6 – 7 – 8 – 9 – 10 – 11 – 12 – 13 – 14 – 15 – 16 – 1 – 2 …
Dans certains cas, il peut être souhaitable, lorsqu’on change de canal, de passer
directement à un canal particulier. L’utilisateur peut faire cela au moyen d’une séquence
de touches très simple. Par exemple, pour passer au canal 8 de l’AIRPLAYMC,
l’utilisateur doit faire ce qui suit :
1. Appuyez sur la touche POWER/CHANNEL (sans la relâcher).
2. Cliquez sur la touche 5.
3. Cliquez sur la touche s.
4. Relâchez la touche POWER/CHANNEl.
Pour régler votre Commande AIRPLAYMC de façon qu’elle revienne à son canal par
défaut, appuyez sur le bouton POWER/CHANNEL (sans le relâcher), cliquez le bouton
START (marche), puis relâchez le bouton POWER/CHANNEL.
(REMARQUE : Chaque fois que vous éteignez la commande et que vous la rallumez,
elle reviendra à son canal par défaut.)
REMISE EN SERVICE DE L\IRPL YMC
Commencez par remettre la commande en service. Si cela ne fonctionne pas,
remettez le récepteur en marche, puis la commande.
1. REMISE EN SERVICE DE LA COMMANDE
ÉTEIGNEZ l’AIRPLAYMC, puis RALLUMEZ-LE.
• Appuyez sur la touche PROGRAM (sans la relâcher).
• Cliquez sur la touche POWER/CHANNEL.
• Relâchez la touche PROGRAM (la commande est alors ÉTEINTE).
• Cliquez sur la touche POWER/CHANNEL.
L’indicateur reLOADMC devrait alors clignoter 3 fois pour indiquer que la
commande est allumée. Si l’indicateur reLOADMC ne clignote pas 3 fois, faites
ce qui suit :
• Retirez la pile AA du compartiment (poussez vers le haut sur la pile à partir du
dessous).
• Attendez 10 secondes.
• Changez la pile AA (poussez dessus à partir du haut avec les deux pouces).
• Cliquez sur la touche POWER/CHANNEL.
Si l’indicateur reLOADMC ne clignote toujours pas 3 fois, c’est que peut-être
votre pile est épuisée ou insérée à l’envers (voir la section VÉRIFIEZ LA PILE).
2. REMISE EN SERVICE DU RÉCEPTEUR
• ÉTEIGNEZ votre PlayStation®.
• Assurez-vous que le Récepteur AIRPLAYMC est inséré à fond dans la
PlayStation® (si vous n’utilisez pas l’AIRPLAYMC dans l’accès 1, assurez-vous
qu’une autre commande est branchée sur l’accès 1).
• Attendez 10 secondes.
• RALLUMEZ la PlayStation®.
• C’est une bonne idée, à ce moment-là, de REMETTRE EN SERVICE la
Commande AIRPLAYMC (voir la section REMISE EN SERVICE DE LA
COMMANDE).
VÉRIFIEZ LES COMMUNICATIONS DE BASE DE LAIRPLAYMC
Le meilleur moyen de vérifier si l’AIRPLAYMC communique comme il faut avec la
PlayStation®, c’est de le faire SANS UTILISER DE JEU.
• ÉTEIGNEZ votre PlayStation®.
• Enlevez le CD du jeu de la PlayStation®.
• Assurez-vous que le Récepteur AIRPLAYMC est installé comme il faut dans
l’accès 1 de la PlayStation® (ce test nécessite que l’AIRPLAYMC soit branché sur
l’accès 1).
• ALLUMEZ la PlayStation®.
• REMETTEZ LA COMMANDE EN SERVICE (voir cette section).
Le MENU PRINCIPAL de la PlayStation® apparaîtra à l’écran.
• Essayez de faire alterner les deux éléments du menu (CARTE-MÉMOIRE et

vous remettez l’AIRPLAYMC en marche, tous les réglages Auto-Repeat (répétition
automatique) et les réglages Macro sont perdus, et les touches AIRPLAYMC sont remises
en fonction à leurs réglages par défaut. De plus, lorsque vous remettez la Commande
AIRPLAYMC en marche, elle rallume son canal radio par défaut.
La Commande AIRPLAYMC peut être éteinte immédiatement en appuyant sur la touche
PROGRAM (sans la relâcher), puis en cliquant sur la touche POWER/CHANNEL, puis
en relâchant la touche PROGRAM. Allumer la CommandeAIRPLAYMC, puis l’éteindre
constitue un moyen pratique d’effacer toutes les touches programmées, d’effacer toutes
les touches de répétition automatique et de ramener l’AIRPLAYMC à son canal par
défaut.
Indicateur de pile faible reLOADMC
Quand la pile de l’AIRPLAYMC est faible, son indicateur de pile faible « reLOAD » se met
à clignoter une fois toutes les 3 secondes. Dans ce cas, il est temps d’installer une pile
neuve dans le compartiment à pile reLOADMC (voir la section « Changement de la pile »
de ce Guide de l’utilisateur).
Auto-Pause
AIRPLAYMC interrompra automatiquement la plupart des jeux et l’indicateur de pile
faible reLOADMC clignotera aussi longtemps que possible pour dire à l’utilisateur
d’installer une pile neuve dans le compartiment à pile reLOADMC (voir la section
« Changement de la pile » de ce Guide de l’utilisateur).
(REMARQUE : L’AIRPLAYMC interrompt la plupart des jeux en envoyant un raccourci
clavier START (Départ) à la PlayStation®. Si l’AIRPLAYMC interrompt automatiquement
votre jeu, vous pouvez supprimer les pauses dans la plupart des jeux en appuyant sur la
touche START.)
Auto-Repeat (répétition automatique)
En cliquant sur la touche PROGRAM, puis en cliquant immédiatement après sur un des
4 déclencheurs ou une des 4 touches de commande standards, vous mettez cette touche
ou ce déclencheur au mode « Auto-Repeat » (répétition automatique). À partir de là,
pendant votre séance de jeu, la touche sur laquelle vous avez appuyé répète son action
automatiquement à 10 Hz (10 fois par seconde) lorsque l’utilisateur appuie dessus sans
la relâcher.
On peut régler à Auto-Repeat n’importe quel nombre ou toute combinaison des
4 déclencheurs et des 4 touches de commande standards. Pour régler plusieurs
déclencheurs ou touches à Auto-Repeat, cliquez sur la touche PROGRAM, puis cliquez
sur un déclencheur ou une touche de commande pour remettre Auto-Repeat en marche,
puis cliquez de nouveau sur la touche PROGRAM, puis cliquez sur le déclencheur
suivant ou la touche de commande suivante que vous voulez régler à Auto-Repeat.
Répétez ce processus jusqu’à ce que vous ayez réglé tous les déclencheurs et toutes les
touches désirés à Auto-Repeat.
On peut annuler le mode de fonctionnement Auto-Repeat pour n’importe quelle touche
en répétant la séquence PROGRAM. Cliquez sur la touche PROGRAM, puis cliquez sur
le déclencheur ou la touche de commande désirés pour éteindre le mode Auto-Repeat.
Séquences programmables (Macro)
Une séquence « Macro » de raccourcis clavier peut être enregistrée et assignée à
n’importe lequel des 4 déclencheurs ou à n’importe laquelle des 4 touches de
commande. La durée maximale de la séquence est de 5 secondes, avec un nombre
minimal de raccourcis clavier de 20. La séquence d’enregistrement enregistre les
raccourcis clavier, leur ordre et chronomètre la durée. La reproduction se fait à 100 % de
la vitesse d’enregistrement. Une fois que la séquence est enregistrée, vous pouvez la
reproduire en appuyant simplement sur la touche assignée. L’enregistrement se fait
donc comme suit :
1. Appuyez (sans la relâcher) sur la touche PROGRAM, cliquez sur un des
4 déclencheurs ou une des 4 touches de commande.
2. Relâchez la touche PROGRAM.
3. Entrez la séquence des raccourcis clavier que vous désirez programmer.
4. Cliquez sur le bouton PROGRAM pour mettre fin à l’enregistrement.
Une fois l’enregistrement terminé, l’AIRPLAYMC supprime tout temps mort au début et à
la fin de l’enregistrement et assigne la séquence à la touche choisie. On peut effacer la
séquence en répétant les étapes ci-dessus, mais en omettant l’étape 3. Une fois la
séquence effacée, la touche assignée reprend sa fonction initiale.
Une seule séquence macro peut être mise en mémoire à la fois. Si on enregistre une
seconde séquence macro, la première séquence macro sera perdue.
(REMARQUE : Pendant l’enregistrement, la Commande AIRPLAYMC NE TRANSMET
PAS la séquence enregistrée au récepteur. Nous suggérons l’approche suivante pour
enregistrer des séquences macro. Interrompez le jeu en cours (faites une pause),
enregistrez votre macro selon les instructions ci-dessus pour votre Commande
AIRPLAYMC, puis annulez la pause et faites l’essai du macro dans le jeu.)
Power-Down (l’appareil s’éteint automatiquement)
Après 5 minutes d’inactivité (lorsqu’on n’a appuyé ou cliqué sur aucune touche),
l’AIRPLAYMC s’éteint automatiquement. Cette caractéristique est conçue pour ménager
l’énergie de la pile lorsque l’ AIRPLAYMC n’est pas utilisé.
Lorsqu’on remet l’AIRPLAYMC en service en cliquant sur la touche POWER/CHAN-
NEL, toutes les séquences macro précédentes sont perdues et toutes les touches
reviennent à leur fonctionnement par défaut, sans répétition.
(REMARQUE : Pour invalider temporairement la caractéristique Power-Down qui fait
que l’appareil s’éteint automatiquement, appuyez sur le bouton PROGRAM, cliquez sur
le bouton SELECT, puis relâchez le bouton PROGRAM. Dès l’instant où vous éteignez
manuellement l’AIRPLAYMC ou que vous enlevez sa pile, la caractéristique du mode
Power-Down reviendra par défaut.)

Communications radio
La radio de l’AIRPLAYMC est conçue pour offrir à l’utilisateur 16 canaux. Ces seize
canaux sont nécessaires pour diverses raisons.
1) Au cours du fonctionnement standard d’une Commande AIRPLAYMC, les
16 canaux permettent aux utilisateurs de choisir des canaux avec un minimum
d’interférence dans leur région en provenance d’autres appareils émetteurs émettant
des fréquences radiophoniques sauvages (configuration simple de l’AIRPLAYMC).
2) Pendant le fonctionnement en tandem de deux Commandes AIRPLAYMC, les
16 canaux permettent à l’utilisateur de choisir des canaux avec un minimum
d’interférence en provenance d’autres Commandes AIRPLAYMC voisines
(configuration en tandem de l’AIRPLAYMC).
3) Autres possibilités d’utilisation :
• on branche plusieurs Commandes AIRPLAYMC sur la même PlayStation® en
utilisant une rallonge MULTITAPMC ou
• dans un cas limite, il y a de nombreuses Commandes AIRPLAYMC qui sont
raccordées à deux PlayStation® reliées par câble, chacune avec 8 utilisateurs
(les deux rallonges MULTITAPMC étant utilisées sur les deux accès des deux
PlayStation® - configuration multiple de l’AIRPLAYMC).
Consultez chacune des sections suivantes qui s’appliquent à l’utilisation que vous faites
de la Commande sans fil de radio AIRPLAYMC pour les consoles de jeu PlayStation®.
Configuration simple de lAIRPLAYMC
Les circuits AIRPLAYMC ont été conçus de façon à réduire l’effet des interférences
(parasites) radiophoniques qui peuvent être générées par la PlayStation®, par votre
téléviseur ou par tout autre appareil générateur d’ondes radiophoniques qui peut
causer des interférences dans le périmètre de fonctionnement de votre Commande
AIRPLAYMC. Cependant, il peut tout de même se produire des interférences qui risquent
d’entraver la performance de votre Commande AIRPLAYMC.
Si vous obtenez une performance inadéquate avec votre Commande AIRPLAYMC, cela
peut être causé par des interférences radiophoniques externes en provenance d’autres
sources locales qui se trouvent près de votre zone de jeu. Dans ce cas, en changeant le
canal de fonctionnement de votre Commande AIRPLAYMC, vous réduirez ou éliminerez
peut-être l’effet de ces interférences externes.
• Une fois que votre Commande AIRPLAYMC a été mise en circuit (c.-à-d. la première
fois que vous appuyez sur la touche POWER/CHANNEL), chaque fois que vous
appuierez sur la touche POWER/CHANNEL après cela, vous changerez le canal de la
commande et du récepteur assortis.
• Appuyez sur la touche POWER/CHANNEL et essayez d’utiliser la Commande
AIRPLAYMC. Vous pouvez changer de canal jusqu’à 15 fois avant de revenir au canal de
fonctionnement par défaut. Passez par les 16 canaux jusqu’à ce que vous trouviez celui
qui vous donne une performance optimale pour vos conditions particulières.
Configuration à usagers multiples (perfectionnée) de l’AIRPLAYMC
(REMARQUE : Lisez cette section si vous voulez utiliser ensemble deux Commandes
AIRPLAYMC ou plus sur la même console de jeu PlayStation®.)
L’AIRPLAYMC peut être utilisé conjointement avec n’importe quelle combinaison de
commandes numériques, de commandes analogues, de commandes spécialisées
licenciées et de cartes-mémoire Sony®. Pour cela, on peut soit le brancher sur les accès
standards de votre console de jeu PlayStation®, soit brancher vos commandes sur votre
console de jeu PlayStation® au moyen d’un MULTITAPMC (le MULTITAPMC permet à
l’utilisateur de brancher quatre dispositifs de commande et quatre cartes-mémoire sur
un seul accès de commande PlayStation®. Pour de plus amples renseignements sur le
MULTITAPMC, consultez le Guide d’instructions de la PlayStation® ou communiquez
avec votre magasin de détail habituel.)
À chaque paire de produits (Commande/RécepteurAIRPLAYMC) correspond un
« numéro d’assortiment » (Mating Number). Les deux composants, la Commande et le
Récepteur, sont marqués avec le même « numéro d’assortiment » sur l’étiquette qui se
trouve sur le dessous du produit. Le numéro d’assortiment est représenté par un code
des touches de fonctions à 8 symboles (p. ex. 5ssln5nl). Cela permet à l’utilisateur
de vérifier facilement quelle commande est assortie à quel récepteur. Les symboles des
touches de commande sont utilisés pour représenter le numéro d’assortiment.
