SAFETY ADVICES
❒When you are operating on your equipment, follow the safety measures
in force.
❒Installation and maintenance of the units should be carried out exclusively
by qualified personnel.
❒Make sure that the main power supply and its frequency are adapted to
the power required for operation, taking into account specific conditions of
location and the power required for any other appliance connected with the
same circuit.

GENERAL POINTS
LOCATION
- Donotinstalltheindoorunitinroomswhereinflammable
gas or acid or alkaline substances are stocked. The
aluminumand copper evaporator and/or the internal
plasticcomponents could be damaged.
- Donot install theindoorunit in workshopsorkitchens
whereoilvapoursattractedbytreatedaircouldsetdown
on the evaporator of the indoor unit and change the
performanceordamagetheinternalplastic partsofthe
unit.
- Installation of the unit will be easier when using a lift-
truck.Usethebaseofthepackingbyplacingitbetween
theunitandthe forksofthe truck.
BEFORE INSTALLATON
- Theappliance canbeinstalled:
wallmounted
ceilingmounted
- Itisrecommendedtoplacetheunitascloseaspossible
toitsfinal locationbefore unpacking.
- Avidplacingheavytools orweightsonthe packedunit.
Checkassoonasthepackinghasbeenopenedthatno
accessoriesrequiredforthe installationaremissing.
DO NOT LIFT THE UNIT AT THE DRAIN PIPE OR
THE COOLING CONNECTIONS, BUT ONLY AT
THE 4 ANGLES.
INSTALLATION
- Mark the location of each support rod, the refrigerant
lines,thecondensatedischargepipe,thepowersupply
cables and the remote control unit cable (see the
dimensions Fig. 1a and 1b).
SELECTION OF PRESSURES
- Preselect the fanspeed according to the model, so as
to obtain the desired pressure by moving 3 wires on
the speed selection terminal box (see table Fig. 19).
- Fasten the appliance on the wall with 4 screws (not
supplied)(Fig. 4).
CEILINGMOUNTED
- Therods canbefixed depending onthe type ofceiling,
as shown in (Fig. 2).
- Connect the drain pipe and check once more that the
unit is in a horizontal position.
DRAININGOF CONDENSATES
- Inorder todrain the condensates,the downward slope
ofthe drain pipe shouldbe 1 cm per meterwithout any
narrowing passage (Fig. 6).
Furthermore a siphon at least 50 mm high should be
installed to avoid bad odours in the room.
- Installan auxiliary pump todrain the condensates and
a level controller, if needed, to drain the condensates
at a higher level than the unit.
WALL MOUNTED
- Position the unit with a airbulb level on the rods by
tighteningfirst thebolds onthe side(Fig. 3), thenplace
the rubber shockabsorbers (Fig. 5) andfinally tighten
the nuts and lock nuts of the threaded rods.

- Thedrainpipe shouldbeheat insulatedwithinsulation
material 5to 10 mm thick, such as polyurethane,
propylaneorneoprene,avoiding condensation.
- Ifseveralunitsareplacedintheroom,the drainsystem
maybe installed as shown in Fig. 7.
INSTALLATION OF THE OUTDOOR UNIT
Minimum clearance to provide for (in mm)
(Fig.
8 ):
Avoidrecycling, even partially, betweenair suction and
discharge.
Fastening on the floor:
The unit is meant to be fastened directly on the floor:
4 holes ∅10 (Fig. 9).
In certain cases shock absorbing blocks can be placed
under the legs (ref.PAULSTRA N°.520027 or similar).
Hanging on the wall:
Theoutdoorunit canbe hungon thewall witha wall
bracket(accessory).
In any case the distance clearance space
between the wall and inlet at the rear of
the condenser should be respected
REFRIGERANT CONNECTION PIPES BETWEEN
INDOOR UNIT AND OUTDOOR UNIT
Theindoorunitsare connectedwiththeoutdoorunitsby
means of flare linking pipes
(copper pipe of cooling quality equipped at their ends
withflarenutsand insulatedovertheir wholelength).
PREPARATION OFTHE PIPES
- Usecopperpipesofcooling qualityandofa∅adapted
toeach model(see tableon page4).
- The gas pipe and the liquid pipe must
beinsulatedwithinsulatingmaterialatleast6mmthick.
- Placethe flarenuts onthe pipe endsbefore preparing
themwitha flaretool.
- The separately insulated pipes and their couplings
canthen befastened to thedrain pipe andthe electric
wireswitha clamp.
INSTALLATION OF THE REFRIGERANT CONNECTION
PIPES
- Make a hole ∅80 mm in the wall to pass the pipes
linkingthe outdoor unit with the indoor unit (Fig. 12).
LAY-OUT OF THE PIPES
The bending radius of the pipes should be equal to or
more then3.5 tilmesthe diameterof thepipe (Fig. 11).
Donotbend thepipes morethan 3timesin arow anddo
not make more than 12 bends on the total length of the
linkingpipe.
Incase the succionpipe has avertical part exceeding 8
meters, it is IMPERATIVE to install a siphon every
3 meters when the GC is placed at a higher level
(Fig. 15).
VACUUM OF PIPES AND
INDOOR UNIT
Only the outdoor unit is charged with R407C refrigerant.
Theindoorunitcontainsasmall quantityofaneutralgas.
This the reason it is imperative to vacuum the linking
pipesand theindoor unit.
ASSEMBLY
The outdoor unit is equipped with a valve allowing to
vacuumtheinstallation(large valve):
1 - Connect the linking pipes with the outdoor and the
indoorunit.
To obtain the right tightening, cover the surface with
cooling oil (Fig. 16).
The use of a counter wrench is required
to tighten the valves (Fig. 14).

The values of the tightening torque are shown in the
tablebelow.
2- Connect thevacuum pump withthe flare couplingof
the outdoor unit equipped with a process valve (large
coupling).
3- Start thevacuum pump andcheck that the needleof
the indicator goes down to -0,1 Mpa (-76 cm Hg).
Thepumpshould runduring atleast 15minutes.
4 - Before disconnecting the vacuum pump, check that
thevacuumindicator remainsinthesamepositionduring
fiveminutes.
5- Disconnectthe vacuum pumpand close theprocess
valve.
6-Removethecapofthe"GAS"and"LIQUID"valvesand
open them with a hexagonal wrench to free the
R407C containedin theoutdoor unit.Put thecaps back.
7 - Check that the linking pipes are sealed. Use an
electronicleakdetector ora soapysponge.
ADJUSTMENT OF THE CHARGE
Adjustmentof thecharge maybe neededdepending on
thelengthof thelinkingpipes andon theindoorunit.
This operation should be done expertly by qualified
personnel (regrigeration engineer). The additional
charge is to be added through the process valve of the
flarecoupling ofthe outdooorunit (largecoupling).
Anyactiononthe coolingcircuitsrequires tocomplywith
theCECOMAF GT1-001 recommendations. (related to
thedischarge ofR407C intotheatmosphere).

ELECTRIC CONNECTIONS
POWERSUPPLY
The power supply is connected with the outdoor unit
(except DS16).
This appliance is meant to be permanently connected
witha fixedcable.
See the electric diagrams on the appliance
(Fig. 21a, b and c).
The connection is made with the outdoor unit after
removalof panel A (Fig.13).
AIR SUCTION AND DISTRIBUTION
SEE ACCESSORIES page 6 and see last page
of these instructions.
AIR RENEWAL
- Lateralportsallowto install separated ductsforfresh
airsuction and discarge in aneighbouring room.
- Remove the anti-condensation insulation and the
prepunchedsheetmetaloftheportsbyusingapiercer:
BE CAREFUL not to damage the heat exchanger
located at the rear.
- Fill the space between the ducts and the edge of the
portswith anti-condensationinsulation. Usematerials
resistingat atemperature of60°C whenthe appliance
isincontinuousoperation.
- Theductscanbe flexiblewithaspring coreoracoreof
corrugated aluminum, insulated at the outside
(glassfibers12to 25mmthick).
- Whentheinstallationisfinishedallductsurfacesshould
be anti-condensation insulated (expanded
polystyrene,expandedneoprene,6mmthick).
NON COMPLIANCE WITH THESE INSTRUCTIONS
WILL CAUSE CONDENSATE

POWER SUPPLY VOLTAGE
The voltage and frequency of the power supply of the
appliance should be in conformity with the values
indicatedonthe identityplates ofthe indoorandoutdoor
unit.

ELECTRIC WIRES
Theappliancesare meantto bepermanently connected
withafixedelectriccable.Donotuseasocket,noraflexible
cable to supply power or to link the indoor unit with the
outdoorunit.
DRAINING OF CONDENSATES
Check that the drain works efficiently by pouring water
intothecondensingtrayofthe indoorunit.Checkthatthe
couplings are sealed and heat insulated if necessary
drainpipeforprotectionagainstfreezingorcondensation.
CONNECTIONCOUPLINGS
Checkwithanappropriatedetectorthatthecoolinglinking
pipes are sealed, in particular the connecting valves of
theoutdoor unit.Check that thepipes are perfectlyheat
insulated.
CROSSING A WALL (Fig. 12)
Check that the passage of the pipes is sealed, in case
theypassthrough anoutsidewall.
Checkthat thelinking pipesdo not touchthe wall.
FASTENING
Check that the indoor and outdoor units are solidly
fastened.Putbacktheelements previouslyremoved.
MAINTENANCE
Beforeanyaction, SWITCH OFF thepowerswitch.
Theairfilter ismade ofacrylic fibersand canbe cleaned
withwater.
CHECK REGULARLY AND BEFORE THE
SEASON THAT THE AIR FILTER IS CLEAN
AFTER LONG PERIODS OF NON-OPERATION
Beforeputting theappliance again inoperation:
- Checkandcleanthe outdoorunit,inparticular theheat
exchanger.
- Cleanorreplace theairfilters ofthe indoorunit.
- Checkandcleanthe condensingtrayof theindoorunit
aswellas theoutdoorunits ofthe heatpump.
- Checkthat electricconnections aretight.
NOTE:
Iftheoutdoorunitisequippedwithacrankcaseheater on
the compressor, put the compressor under power 12
hoursbeforeputting thesystem intooperation.
