fitted in the plug.
Should the fuse need to be replaced, use a 3 amp fuse approved by ASTA
or BSI to BS 1362. When replacing the fuse, you must ensure that any
removable fuse covers are correctly refitted.
If you should lose the fuse cover, please contact your nearest AIWA dealer.

The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the followir

As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this appliance may not
correspond with the colour markings identifying the terminals in your plug,
proceed as follows:
reach apower point, obtain an appropriate safety approved extension lead
or adaptor. If in any doubt please consult a qualified electrician.
The wire which is coloured BLUE must be connected to the terminal which
is marked by the letter N or coloured BLACK.
The wire which is coloured BROWN must by connected to the terminal which
is marked by the letter L or coloured RED.
If the plug is cut off, remove the fuse and dispose of the plug immedately.
THERE IS A DANGER OF SEVERE ELECTRICAL SHOCK IF THE CUT
OFF PLUG IS INSERTED INTO ANY 13 AMP SOCKET.
DO NOT connect either the BLUE or BROWN wires to the mains lead to the
earth terminal (marked with the letter E or by the earth symbol + or coloured
GREEN or GREEN/YELLOW) of a three pin plug.
If a newplug is to be fitted please ensure it contains a 3 amp fuse, otherwise
the circuit should be protected by a 3 amp fuse at the distribution board.

BA
DSP (Digital Signal Processor) system
DSP produces the surround effect to make real
presence where the sounds are heard. Audio
signals are digitally processed into digital ones
through the DSP circuitry. The system can
reproduce them in 4 different presences.
DSP-processed sound can be recorded on tape
as well.
BBE system
BBE is a technology developed for professional
studio and live use. BBE gives astonishing
definition and clarity to music reproduction. BBE
makes high-frequency sound especially clear and
brings outthe special character of vocals and solo
instruments.
AIWA is the world’s first manufacturer to use BBE
technology in consumer audio equipment.
.idio/video system compatibility
Two sets of audio/video inputs and another set of
audio inputs are provided to connect a variety of
VCRs, audio/video disc players, or other types of
audio/video source equipment.
Karaoke microphone mixing
You can instantly change audio music (CDs, LDs
or tapes) into karaoke music. Your vocals replace
the model ones on the audio source when singing
with a microphone. Using two microphones, you
can enjoy singing duets.
Microphone sound can also be mixed with the
compact disc or other audio source.

Follow the advice below for safe and correct

Before using, check that the rated voltage of your
system matches your local voltage.

On safety
e When connecting and disconnecting the AC
cord, grip the plug and notthe cord itself. Pulling
the cord may damage it and thus be hazardous.
« When you are not going to use the system fora
tong period of time, disconnect the AC cord. If
the cordis pluggedin, asmall amount of current
keeps flowing to the system, even if the power
switch is not ON.
e If the AC cord is broken or damaged, or if the
wires are exposed, contact your dealer or an
AIWA service station and have it replaced or
repaired immediately.
On placement
e Do not use the system in places which are
extremely hot, cold, dusty or humid.
e Place the system on a flat, level surface.
¢ Be careful not to obstruct the ventilation holes
on the amplifiers rear panel, as increased
internal temperature may affect the electrical
parts. In particular, do not place the system in
an air-tight rack.
Should any trouble occur, disconnect the AC cord
and refer servicing to qualified personnel only.

dafia, o silos hilos estan al descubierto, pongase
en contacto con un centro de reparaciones

Ubicacién
¢ Noutilice el sistemaen lugares extremadamente
calidos, frios, polvorientos, ni hmedos.
Coloque el sistema sobre una superficie
nivelada.
¢ Tenga cuidado de no obstruir los orificios de
ventilacion del panel posterior del amplificador,
ya que el aumento de la temperatura interna
podria afectar los componentes electrénicos.

There are two ways of setting up your system.
Whichever way you choose, be sure to set up as
shown.
Connectable CD players
For remote contro! operation with the supplied
remote controller and for CD synchronized
recording, use an optional AIWA DX-Z7000M,
DX-Z980M, DX-Z950M, DX-Z900M, DX-Z850 or
DX-Z830 CD player. See the CD player's operating
instructions for details.

« During the hook-up process, unplug the AC
power cord of the components that you are
interconnecting to prevent any damage to your
system from an incorrect connection or control
setting.
¢ Be sure to connect correctly according to the
illustration.
e Turn on the power after verifying that the
connections are correct.
Changing the input signal code of the CD
player : : ‘
The optional CD players listed above have
respectively. different. signal .codes. After
connecting.one of these CD players, change
the system to match the signal code of the
‘connected CD player. : :
The systemis factory-preset to match the Dx-
‘Z7000Mand DX-Z950M CD players. For other
connected players, with the CD function button
held down, press the POWER button on the
amplifierso that “CD 1” appears onthe amplifier
display. The same operation changes the code
back and the “CD 3” appears.
Note
If a power interruption occurs longer than
about 12 hours, reset the code again.

Cambio del cédigo delas sefiales de entrada

Los reproductores de discos compactos
opcionales mencionados poseen. diferentes
cédigos de sefiales. Después de conectar. uno
de estos reproductores de discos compactos,
cambie el sistemade acuerdo con el codigo de
sefiales del mismo. - °
'El sistema ha sido ajustado al reproductor de
discos compactos DX-Z7000M y DX-Z950M.
Para conectar otro reproductor, manteniendo
pulsado el boton de funcién de reproductorde
discos compactos, presione el bot6n POWER
del amplificador de forma que en el visualizador
del amplificador aparezca “CD.1”. La misma
operacién voivera a cambiar el. cédigo y
aparecera “CD 3”. . ~ :
Nota ; :
Después de un corte del suministro eléctrico
de mas de 12 horas, vuelva a cambiar el
cédigo.

Flat cable connections
There are one 9-pin and two 11-pin terminals
which are respectively coloured blue and black to
distinguish between them on the rear panel of the
amplifer. Be sure to match the correct pin and
colour the flat cable connectors.
Speaker connections
¢ The speakers have an impedance of 6 ohms.
« The speaker system is magnetically shielded.
However, if the speakers should affect the colour
on a TV screen, turn off the TV, and turn it on
again 15-30 minutes later. If the TV screen still
has poor colour, place the speaker system away
from the TV.
¢ Do not leave magnets or objects generating
magnetism near the speaker system.

Conexion de los cables pianos PREM
En el panet posterior del amplificador hay un
conector de 9 terminales y dos de 11 terminales
de color azul y negro, respectivamente, para
diferenciarios.. Cerciérese de hacer coincidir los
terminales y los colores de los conectores de los
cables planos.
Notas sobre la conexion de los altavoces
e Utilice altavoces con una impedancia de 6
ohmios.
Este sistema de altavoces esta magnéticamente
apantallado. Sin embargo, si los altavoces
afectan el color de la pantalla de un televisor,
desconecte la alimentacion de éste y vuelva a
conectarla después de 15 a 30 minutos. Si el
color de la pantalla sigue siendode malacalidad,
aleje el sistema de altavoces del televisor.
e No deje imanes ni objetos que generen
magnetismo cerca del sistema de altavoces.
