Intended use
The iPod Music System functions as a docking station to play music from
an iPod/ iPhone/ iPad. The appliance also plays music from an external
device and from radio.
Read the manual carefully before the first use.
Safety
Labels in this manual
WARNING A warning means that injury or death is possible if the
instructions are not obeyed.
CAUTION A caution means that damage to the equipment is possible.
A note gives additional information, e.g. for a procedure.

General safety instructions
WARNING Do not put force on the appliance. The appliance can fall and
can cause serious injury.
CAUTION Do not spill any liquid on the appliance.
WARNING Do not insert any objects in the ventilation holes.
CAUTION Do not block the ventilation holes.
This appliance is double insulated; therefore no earth wire is required.
Always check that the mains voltage corresponds to the voltage on the
rating plate.

Preparations for use
Unpacking
Unpack the appliance carefully.
Check the package contents as described below. If any item is
missing, please contact your reseller.
We recommend that you retain the original carton and packing materials
in case it ever becomes necessary to return your product for service.
This is the only way to safely protect the product against damage in
transit. If you do dispose of the carton and the packing materials, please
remember to recycle with due care to the environment.

1 RCA cable
1 Mains cable
1 Button cell (CR2025)
NOTE: the button cell battery has already been inserted in your remote
control
If any item is missing, please contact your reseller.

Installation
Put the appliance on a horizontal flat surface.
Connect the random equipment to the appliance. Read the paragraph
"Connecting random equipment".
Connect the appliance to the mains.
Read the paragraph "Remote control".
CAUTION Do not put the appliance near a heat source.
Do not expose the appliance to direct sunlight.
This appliance is equipped with rubber feet to prevent it from moving.
The feet are made from non-migrating material specially formulated to
avoid leaving any marks or stains on furniture. However, certain types of
furniture polishes, wood preservatives or cleaning sprays cause the
rubber to soften and leave marks or a residue on the furniture, and
potentially risk the surface to become damaged. To prevent damage to
wooden surfaces, we recommend that you apply self-adhesive pads to
the bottom of the rubber feet before installation.

Connecting random equipment

Connecting to the mains
Connect the female connector on the mains cable to the AC MAINS
connection.
Connect the mains plug to a wall socket.

Change the battery
Push the battery forward through the hole at the rear of the remote
control. Use a neelde for instance.
Slide the battery in/ out of the batterycompartment.
Please note:
Insert 1 lithium battery, type CR2025 3V battery
When inserting the battery observe the (+) and (-) polarity markings.

General functions
Press the VOL - button (2) or the VOL + button (7) to set the volume
level (range 1 to 31).

Push the SOUND (6) Button to set the sound effect BASS1, 2 or 3.
To mute or restore sound, press the MUTE button (4).
Press the SOURCE Button (5) to choose one of the following
functions; DOCK (iPad/ iPhone/ iPod), AUX 1, AUX 2, Tuner or
Bluetooth (pair).

Operation
All functions of the appliance are accessible using the remote control. All
instructions refer to operation with the remote control, unless indicated
otherwise.
Turning the device on and off.
Switch on (off) the ASB220I

Use the POWER (4) key for this.

Setting the clock
Preparation
The device has to be switched off.
Setting the current time
Press and hold the CLOCK button (9). The hour digits start flashing.
Set the hour
Press the SOURCE (5) Button or the SOUND (6) Button.
Confirm hour
To do this, press the CLOCK key (9).
Set the minutes
Press the SOURCE (5) Button or the SOUND (6) Button.

Confirm minutes
To do this, press the CLOCK key (9).
Docking and charging the iDevice
Push down the OPEN area at the rotating disk.
Place your iPad/ iPhone/ iPod

Audio playback
Preparation
Press the SOURCE button (5) (AUX 1, AUX 2, DOCK).
Select the desired source (DOCK).
Place your iPad/ iPhone/ iPod
See for instructions section "Docking and charging the iDevice"
Usage
To start playback, press the PLAY/ PAUSE/ PAIR button (1) once.
Press the PLAY/ PAUSE/ PAIR button (1) again to pause playback.
Press the PREVIOUS button (3) or the NEXT button (8) to select the
previous or the next track.
Press and hold the PREVIOUS button (3) or the NEXT button (8) to
rewind or forward the track.
Scroll through the menu.
Press the M/ CLOCK button (9).

Press the SOURCE (5) button or the SOUND EFFECT (6) button to
select the desired file.
To start playback, press the PLAY/ PAUSE/ PAIR button (1) once.
Operation with BLUETOOTH
You can wirelessly connect the ASB220I to devices that have Bluetooth
A2DP.
We can not guarantee that all Bluetooth devices are compatible.
Preparation
Turn on the Bluetooth function of your device
Establishing a Bluetooth connection (PAIREN)
Press the SOURCE button (5).
Select the desired source (BLUT).
Press and hold the PLAY/ PAUSE/ PAIR button (1).

Go to the Bluetooth Menu of your Bluetooth device.
Search Bluetooth devices and select "BLUEPORT" to establish
connection
Enter "0000" when the player asks for the PIN code
NOTE: your Bluetooth connection has a range of approximately 9 metres
If you move outside the Bluetooth range, the connection will be
automatically terminated.

Using the radio
Preparation
Press the SOURCE button (5).
Select the desired source (TUNER).
Program radio stations automatically
Keep key M/CLOCK (9) pressed for 2 seconds
All available stations are now programmed.
Press the PREVIOUS (3) Button or the NEXT (8) Button to select the
desired station.
Manually adjust the frequency
Press and hold the PREVIOUS (3) Button or the NEXT (8) Button to
find the desired frequency.

Cleaning and maintenance
WARNING Before performing any cleaning or maintenance, switch off
and unplug the appliance.
Clean the outside of the appliance with a soft cloth. When the appliance
is very dirty, dampen the cloth slightly with water and a neutral solution.
