1.1 PURPOSE OF THE OPERATION AND
MAINTENANCE MANUAL
This manual is an integral part of the vehicle and is intended to
provide the necessary information to:
• make users aware of safety issues;
• learn about the operation of the Alba vehicle;
• use the Alba vehicle correctly.
IMPORTANT! Users must read the contents of this
Instruction Manual carefully.
The time taken to do so will be amply rewarded by the
proper operation of the vehicle and its safe use.
1.2 STORAGE OF THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL
This manual should be stored carefully and should accompany
the vehicle at all times during its use.
To ensure its preservation, it should be handled with care, with
clean hands, avoiding to place it on dirty surfaces.
Parts of the manual must not be removed, torn or changed.
The manual should be stored in an environment protected from
moisture and heat inside the vehicle.

The vehicle is covered by a warranty, as set out in the general
conditions of sale. If, during the period ofvalidityof thewarranty,
any faulty operation or failure of parts of the vehicle occurs, the
Manufacturer will repair or replace the parts after carrying out
the appropriate checks on the vehicle.
Modications carried out by the user without the express
written authorisation of the Manufacturer will invalidate the
warranty and release the Manufacturer from any liability for
damage caused by a defective product.
This applies in particular, if such modications are made to the
safety devices, thus reducing their eectiveness.
The same applies if non-original spare parts or parts other than
those explicitly indicated by the Manufacturer as "DEVICES" are
used.

3.1 GENERAL SAFETY WARNINGS
WARNING! This symbol indicates important
information about your safety, read it carefully!
Before operating the vehicle, carefully read the instructions
contained in this manual and follow them.
The Manufacturer has made every eort to design this vehicle
as INTRINSICALLY SAFE as possible.
The vehicle is equipped with all the protections and safety
devices deemed necessary, as well as with sucient information
for its safe and correct use.
This Manual contains further recommendations for the user to
prevent human error and prohibitions of reasonably foreseeable
unacceptable behaviour.
However, the following indications must be diligently followed:
• it is absolutely forbidden to inhibit the safety devices installed
on the vehicle;
• it is absolutely forbidden to modify parts of the vehicle.
In the event of a malfunction due to failure to comply
with the above, the Manufacturer is not liable for
the consequences. We recommend that you request
any modications directly from the Manufacturer;
• clean vehicle upholstery, panels and controls with soft, dry
cloths or lightly soaked in a mild cleaning solution; do not use
any type of solvent, such as alcohol or petrol, as the surfaces
may be damaged.
IMPORTANT! The Manufacturer is relieved of all
responsibility for damage caused by the vehicle to
people, animals or things in the event of:
• use of the vehicle by unskilled drivers;
• improper use of the vehicle;
• defects in the power supply;
• lack of planned maintenance;
 
 
model;
• total or partial non-compliance with the instructions;
 
• disasters and exceptional events.
3.2 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
All safety devices placed on moving parts to prevent accidents
and safeguard safety must not be modied or removed, but
must be adequately safeguarded.
3. SAFETY

3.3 CHECKS AND VERIFICATIONS
Checks must be carried out as indicated in the Maintenance
chapter (page 32)of this manual.
If worn or faulty parts are not replaced promptly, the
Manufacturer accepts no responsibility for any accidental
damage that may result. Inspections must be carried out by an
expert; they must be visual and functional in order to guarantee
the vehicle's safety.
They shall include the following:
• Checking all the load-bearing structures, which must not
show any breakage, damage, deformation, corrosion, wear or
alteration with respect to the original characteristics;
• Inspection of all mechanical parts;
• Inspection of all safety devices installed on the vehicle;
• Check all pin and bolt connections;
• Functional check of the vehicle;
• Check the condition of the vehicle.
The results of this check must be recorded on a special form.
IMPORTANT! If anomalies are detected, they must be

and the expert carrying out the check must note on
the card that the repair has been carried out, thus giving
approval for the vehicle to be used.
In the event of a breakage or dangerous anomaly, the service
department must be notied immediately.
Take the vehicle out of service if there is a malfunction and
contact the service department immediately.
Make sure that there are no objects between the vehicle parts.
Make sure that no objects remain between the moving parts
after any maintenance work.
WARNING! In order to guarantee maximum safety
when handling the vehicle, it is in any case
PROHIBITED to:
• tamper with any part of the vehicle;
• leave moving parts unattended;
• use the vehicle in working order but not in complete

• modify the vehicle in order to change its originally intended
use, without explicit authorisation from the Manufacturer
or without assuming full responsibility as required by the
Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC;
• move moving parts by means of manual operations if there
is no power supply.

3.4 INTENDED USE
The vehicle is intended for the transport of people (max. 2) and a
load of max. 50 kg in private areas not open to road trac. Under
no circumstances may the vehicle be used on urban roads,
suburban roads, motorways and where road type approval is
required. The vehicle allows a maximum speed of 30 km/h and a
maximum gradient of 30%.
Anyotheruseofthevehicleisunauthorisedandwill automatically
invalidate the warranty and relieve the Manufacturer of all
responsibility for any damage to property or people.
IMPORTANT! The use of products/materials other

create damage to the vehicle and dangerous
situations for the operator and/or user, is considered
incorrect or improper.
3.5 CONTRAINDICATIONS FOR USE
WARNING! The vehicle must not be used by persons
who have not been properly trained in the use of the
vehicle, by persons under 16 years of age and by
          
drugs.
WARNING! The vehicle must not be used on uneven/
unstable/alloyed/snowy ground that could cause it
to overturn or lose stability, thereby jeopardising the
safety of the persons on board.
The vehicle cannot be towed by any type of trailer.
Transporting people or animals in the rear of the vehicle,
which is used only for transporting objects, is not permitted.

3.6 SAFETY DURING USE
Here are some indications (the list is indicative and not
exhaustive) for the safe use of the vehicle:
• The vehicle can carry two people at the same time, driver
and passenger, who must remain seated in the vehicle while
holding on to the steering wheel or the handles; it is forbidden
to carry people in the rear of the vehicle;
• Only start the vehicle after ensuring that the passenger is
fully seated;
• Before exiting the vehicle, ensure that the electromagnetic
brake is applied and that the vehicle is locked;
• Pay attention to the area in the vicinity of the vehicle, in
particular the driver must be concentrated in order to be able
to react eectively in the event of an unforeseen situation;
• Avoid abrupt acceleration and deceleration, as this could lead
to loss of balance in those being transported;
• Evaluate in advance the state of the ground covered by the
vehicle in order to adapt the driving characteristics to the
ground conditions.
Improper use and/or poor maintenance of the vehicle can
cause serious damage or injury to the occupants or people in
the vicinity.
The previous indications cannot be considered as the only
ones necessary for safe driving; the dierent ways of using the
vehicle, even if not permitted but nevertheless hypothesised
by the Manufacturer during the risk assessment phase, require
particular attention, prudence and use according to the rules of
common sense.
Careless, fast and irresponsible driving could cause serious
damage to property and people.
Avoid steep paths and slopes as far as possible. Descents
should be approached with caution, modulating your braking
according to the ground conditions. Do not approach slopes
from the side, as this may cause the vehicle to tip over or fall!
Driving your vehicle on wet surfaces requires extra care and
caution, as wet surfaces reduce vehicle stability and increase
braking distance.

3.7 SIGNS
There are a number of stickers on thevehicle, reminding the user
of certain prohibitions or good practices for using the vehicle.

4.1 TRANSPORT, HANDLING AND STORAGE
The vehicle can be moved in the event of at batteries, after
manually releasing the electromagnetic brake, using the tow
bar at the front of the vehicle. Attention, to avoid damaging
parts of the vehicle, check that the belt/harness, when under
tension, is not in contact with parts of the bodywork.
WARNING! The electromagnetic brake release
(section 7.7 on page 43) entails the risk of moving the
vehicle. Ensure that this operation is only carried out
under safe conditions, on level and stable ground. When not
in use, park the vehicle away from the weather if possible and
disconnect the batteries if the vehicle is stationary for a
longer period of time.
4.2 PREPARATIONS FOR RECHARGING
Preparation of the electrical system
The vehicle is recharged using a standard 220V wall socket.
The socket must be positioned in a safe place, protected from
atmospheric agents and in a non-explosive area.
The Manufacturer shall not be held liable for damage to
property, persons and/or animals caused by failure to comply
with this provision.
4. FIRST USE
3.8 EMERGENCY BRAKING
If, when the vehicle is in motion, the ignition key is switched to
'OFF' (key removal position), the electromagnetic brake will slow
the vehicle to a stop.
There is a possibility that the electromagnetic brake may be
damaged and that both the wheels and the transmission may
be damaged; it is, therefore, advisable to have a thorough check
by an authorised ALBA technician.
This type of emergency braking is to be considered risky and to
be used only in case of emergency due to the malfunction of the
hydraulic brakes.

5. VEHICLE
DESCRIPTION
WARNING! The manufacturer cannot be held
responsible for damage to property, persons and/or
animals caused by improper electrical connections
(maximum absorption of the battery charger: INPUT 100-
240VAC 50/60Hz 12/6A 1400W).
4.3 PRELIMINARY CHECKS
Before each start-up of the vehicle, a general check should be
carried out as follows.
Batteries
After lifting the seat and gaining access to the battery
compartment carry out the following checks:
• Check the battery terminals for corrosion/oxidation;
• Check that no uids are leaking from the batteries;
• Check the correct attachment of the battery pack;
• Check the correct connection of the cables.
Steering controls
• Check that the steering has no abnormal play;
• Check that the braking system works correctly.
If abnormal behaviour is detected during the checks, contact
technical assistance and do not use the vehicle.

5.2 ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
The vehicle does not require special environmental conditions.
Permissible temperatures from -5° to 40°C, with humidity not
exceeding 50% at 40°C and not exceeding 90% at 20°C.
The vehicle is suitable for operation in environments at:
• temperature between + 5° and + 40°C with an average
temperature of around 35°C;
• relative humidity between 30% and 95%.
It is forbidden to use it in environments that are:
• in a corrosive atmosphere;
• at risk of re;
• in an explosive atmosphere.

5.4 STANDARD SUPPLY
The vehicle is supplied as standard, including:
• 220V battery charging cable;
• electromagnetic brake release kit;
• Instruction manual for use and maintenance.
6.1 BATTERY PACK, CHARGING AND SAFETY
INFORMATION
To prevent premature wear of the batteries, the vehicle should
always be kept charged when not in use by keeping it connected
to the domestic mains using a suitable charging cable. The
charger will apply appropriate state-of-charge maintenance
algorithms without damaging the batteries.
WARNING! Before using or servicing batteries, please
read the following instructions carefully. Failure to
follow the instructions or to follow normal safety
rules and common sense can result in serious property
damage and personal injury. Avoid leaving the vehicle and
batteries exposed to freezing temperatures. Never recharge
a battery that has been exposed to temperatures below 0°C
for extended periods.

• danger of explosion, re, bursting or protrusion.

• wash thoroughly after handling;
• do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product;
• wear protective gloves and clothing, eye/face protection;
• avoid breathing dust/smoke/gas/vapours/spray;
• use only outdoors or in a well-ventilated area;
• causes skin irritation, serious damage to eyesight;
• contact with internal components may cause irritation and/or
severe burns. Avoid contact with the internal acid;
• irritating to eyes, skin and respiratory tract.
Precautions for use:
• ensure that all battery connections and cables are securely
connected to the terminal; loose or too tight connections may
cause breakage, melting or re;
• do not place objects on batteries or terminals to avoid short
circuits;
• the electrolyte is a solution of acid and water, so avoid contact
with the skin;
• if acid comes into contact with skin or eyes, rinse immediately
with water and consult a doctor;
• charge batteries in a well-ventilated area, as batteries
produce gas fumes when charging. Raise the seat cushion to
an upright position when charging;
• never add acid to the battery;
• battery electrolyte is poisonous and dangerous: it causes
severe burns or other damage;
• contains sulphuric acid. Avoid contact with skin, eyes or
clothing;
• do not transport, store, handle or use batteries except in the
upright position;
• wear full face shield and rubber gloves when working on or
near batteries;
• batteries produce explosive gases. Keep sparks, cigarette
ames or open ames away from batteries;
• always ensure adequate ventilation when charging or using in
enclosed spaces;
• KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.

The battery pack is located under the seat. To access it, lift the
rear part of the seat until it reaches the locked position (photo
A).
The batteries are recharged using the special cable provided
(photo B).
Use the special connector to connect the cable to the vehicle's
charging socket located on the left-hand side underthe steering
wheel and then connect the cable to the power supply (photo
C). The green ashing LED next to the connector indicates that
the charging operation has begun (photo C).
At the end of charging the LED will remain on with a steady
green light. To further check the battery charge status, turn the
key to the ON position (photo E - F); in this way, it will be possible
to display the charge percentage on the indicator placed above
the steering wheel (photo D).
While the vehicle is being recharged for safety reasons, the
accelerator pedal is inhibited and the electromagnetic brake
remains in the locked position; movement is not possible even
when the ignition key is turned.
WARNING! Charging operations must always be
carried out under safe conditions and in a room that
is suitable in terms of size and ventilation. If the
connector is broken or the electric cable is abraded, do not
recharge the vehicle and contact service. When charging, do
not override the electric cable with any means or material
that could cause abrasion or cutting.

6.2 EXTERIOR OVERVIEW
Rear load compartment. The rear load compartment
has a maximum load capacity of 50 kg and allows the transport
of two golf bags or, alternatively, other objects, without
exceeding the maximum load value.

WARNING! It is absolutely forbidden to transport
people or animals in the rear load compartment.
6.3 DRIVER'S SEAT OVERVIEW
Charge indicator. Displays the battery
charge status through 10 coloured sectors:
RED (1 sector). Indicates that the batteries
are completely at: the remaining autonomy
is zero, it is advisable to recharge the
batteries as soon as possible in order not to
deteriorate them. In these conditions, it is
not possible to face climbs with a high slope because the power
is limited bythe controller to preserve the health of the batteries.
YELLOW (2 sectors). Indicates that the batteries are almost
completely at, reserve condition. The controller may begin
limiting the vehicle's power to preserve battery health. It is
recommended to return to the charging point immediately.
GREEN (7 sectors). Indicates that the remaining battery
charge is between 20% and 100%, guaranteeing a maximum
range of up to approximately 60km.
WARNING! Autonomy will vary depending on terrain,
conditions, driving style and battery status, so gures
should be regarded as indicative only.
Steering wheel height
adjustment lever.
Located beneath the steering column, when
operated it allows the height and length of
the steering wheel to be adjusted to suit the
driver's preference. When the adjustment is
complete, return the lever to the column
lock position.
Ignition key. The ignition key can be
moved to the following three positions.
OFF. This is the only position which allows
the vehicle key to be inserted or removed.

USB charging socket. The USB charging socket on the
passenger side is activated by pressing the integrated button.
Two devices can be charged simultaneously, for example.
The charging capacity is 2.1 amps per channel. The socket is
functional even if the vehicle is in "OFF" mode.
WARNING! To preserve battery
power in this condition, it is
recommended to switch o the
USB socket as soon as possible.
The vehicle remains switched o with the electromagnetic brake
locked: the only utility powered by the batteries is the driver's side
USB charging socket, which can be activated with the button.
ON. The vehicle is switched on and, by pressing the 'D' (forward)
or 'R' (reverse) buttons and depressing the accelerator pedal, it
is set in motion. The battery charge indicator is also illuminated.
. The key in this position turns on the vehicle's front and rear
lights; this position maintains the ON state.
Forward control ("D").
Following actuation of the button identied
with the letter "D", by acting on the accelerator
pedal, the vehicle moves forward.
Reverse control ("R").
When the button labelled "R" is pressed under
the accelerator pedal, the vehicle reverses.
When reversing, an intermittent acoustic warning sounds. If the
"R" button is held down for 5 seconds, the vehicle switches to
"Neutral" mode.
WARNING! The user must pay particular attention when
driving in reverse. The acoustic warning does not
exempt the driver from driving carefully and
responsibly.
Brake pedal. There is a redundancy in the
brake pedal. In an emergency, depressing the
brake pedal will disable traction.
Accelerator pedal. When activated,
the vehicle moves in the direction set with the
steering wheel controls. If released, the vehicle
stops within the time set by the controller.
Three seconds after stopping, the electromagnetic brake is
activated. If released while climbing, under the same conditions,
the "HILL HOLDER" function is activated.

7.1 CHECKING FLUID LEVELS
In order to maintain the eciency of the vehicle, the water level
in the batteries and the brake uid level should be checked over
time.
The water level in the batteries should be checked (with fully
charged batteries) approximately once a month.
WARNING! Keep baking soda and large amounts of
water nearby; this will help neutralise any acid leaking
from the battery openings and prevent corrosive
damage to the batteries and the vehicle. Avoid contact of the
acid with the skin.
Open the battery compartment by lifting the seat and locking
it with the lever. Unscrew the caps and check that the water
completely submerges the internal metal parts.
If it is necessary to top-up the liquid, use a suitable container
and top-up with distilled or de-ionised water.
CAUTION! Do not top-up batteries before charging;
this increases the risk of acid leakage during
charging, as the liquid will boil.
After fully charging the batteries, if they are not already fully
charged, add demineralised water until the metal plates of the
battery are completely covered. When nished, carefully close
the caps to prevent liquids from escaping.
The oil level should be checked approximately once
a year or at the alarm signal. Your vehicle is equipped
with a low brake uid level sensor. If the level is lower
than required, the driver is warned by a continuous beep.
To access the brake uid reservoir, open the front glove
box and unscrew the body locking screws. The oil level
must reach the mark (MAX) indicated on the reservoir.
7.2 BATTERY REPLACEMENT

be used when handling lead acid batteries (this list is
not exhaustive).

been trained or who have previous experience in handling
batteries;
• batteries are corrosive and failure to do so may result in
personal injury or death as lead acid can cause severe burns
and destroy clothing;
• it is advisable to remove all jewellery, as it is a hazard: metals
in contact with battery terminals can cause electric arcs
resulting in serious personal injury;
• always wear goggles, gloves and protective clothing when
handling lead acid batteries;
• keep sparks, cigarette ames or open ames away from
batteries;
• always ensure adequate ventilation when working in enclosed
spaces;
• open the battery compartment by lifting up the seat and
locking it with the lever;
• disconnect the battery pack by rst removing the negative
terminal and then the positive terminal connecting it to the
vehicle before starting the replacement;
• unscrew the locking nuts located on the brackets both inside
the battery compartment and under the vehicle oor;
• remove the brackets, taking care not to touch the battery
poles at the same time;
• extract the H-shaped bracket located centrally by unscrewing
the M10 self-locking nuts located under the vehicle;
• disconnect the terminals of the batteries to be replaced;
• lift the batteries to be replaced and position the new ones;
• connect the terminals to the new batteries as shown in the
diagram below with a tightening torque of 10Nm±0,5Nm.
• work in the reverse way to that described above when
retting the brackets. The nuts under the car M10 should be
tightened to 25Nm±2Nm. The nuts above the batteries should
be tightened to 9Nm±0.5 Nm;
• rst connect the positive pole and then the negative pole to
the vehicle terminals with a torque of 10Nm±0.5Nm;
• close the battery compartment by releasing the support
bracket.
