Qualifications:
Metalwork
Steel inherently is a 100% recyclable material. It can be recycled at any point during its existence and can be
re-used again and again without weakening the material.
However, both of the largest UK steel manufacturers only guarantee up to a maximum content of 55%
recycled steel as part of any new batch produced. Our steel is sourced from either of these two companies.
MFC
We use 18 & 25mm Melamine Faced Chipboard, with the industry standard 2mm pvc edge detail. This board
is sourced from responsible UK suppliers, who use the leading European board manufacturers; Kronospan
and Egger. 30% of the woodchips used in the creation of the board is from recycled material, with a further
35% from sawmill waste such as sawdust, shavings & bark. Wood that is not suitable for MFC is transformed
into environmentally-friendly electricity and heat in biomass power plants, eliminating 1,487,001 tonnes of
CO₂from the environment, as compared to energy generation using natural gas. Our UK suppliers as
standard, supply 70% of all boards from FSC compliant source and are fully FSC and PEFC chain of custody
certified. However, we can on request, offer 100% FSC compliancy on the boards supplied.

2400 x 1200 x 25 MFC top –Weight = 47.52 Kg. 65% recycled content by weight = 30.89 Kg.
Steel underframe –Weight = 24.9Kg. 55% recycled content by weight = 13.75 Kg.
Oak legs –Weight = 6.6 Kg. 0% recycled content by weight = 0.
Total product weight = 79.02 Kg.
Total recycled content = 30.89 + 13.75 = 44.64 Kg.
44.64 divide by 79.02 x 100 = 56.49%
