Involv worktable bridges the gap between a table & touch down workstation. In fact it is
both & can be adapted by the users dependent on their task & work style.
The smart worksurface creates a visual statement with a series of longitudinal grooves & leading
edge chamfer. The grooves also have a function allowing tablet devices & mobiles to be engaged
in the slot presenting the screens at a raked viewing angle. A series of central slots enable the
user to slot in dividing screens, this defines the individuals space & sub divides the worksurface.
When the worksurface is required for a ‘round robin’ style meeting the screens are easily removed
creating joint meeting space.
The central plank is removable to reveal a full length cable tray that will manage cables &
power/data modules delivering connectivity to the worksurface where required.

Specification
Involv WorkTables are designed and manufactured for use within the most demanding of environments
Frame - Involv underframes are constructed from a range of medium to heavy gauge mild steel sheet
fabricated to form brackets. 30 x 30mm square steel tubes link the brackets & support the tops to
create a rigid and robust under structure. The integral cable beam is from 1.8mm stell sheet.
Legs - Involv legs are of solid oak with a clear lacquer finish or black stained finish & are supplied in a
knock down format and boxed for production, protection & ease of transport.
Tops –Chamfered along leading edges (not sides) table tops are fabricated from 25mm thick MFMDF
(melamine faced medium density fibreboard) with 2mm ABS edging with 2mm radiused edges &
corners. The chamfered edge on the underside of the top is left as exposed MDF as standard.
The tops are machined along their length with a groove detail. All tops are pre drilled & are inserted
with M6 inserts.
A single top is made up of 3 pieces:
•2x flanking tops with groove
•1x removable central plank –with or without plug in screen apertures
OR
•1x removable fabric wrapped plank
Cable Management - The cable tray is suspended from the underside of the frame & cables are
routed from the cable tray to a floor box or building perimeter via a cable spine or a fabric zipped cable
riser attached to the inside of the leg.

Qualifications:
Metalwork
Steel inherently is a 100% recyclable material. It can be recycled at any point during its existence and can be
re-used again and again without weakening the material.
However, both of the largest UK steel manufacturers only guarantee up to a maximum content of 55%
recycled steel as part of any new batch produced. Our steel is sourced from either of these two companies.
MFC
We use 18 & 25mm Melamine Faced Chipboard, with the industry standard 2mm pvc edge detail. This board
is sourced from responsible UK suppliers, who use the leading European board manufacturers; Kronospan
and Egger. 30% of the woodchips used in the creation of the board is from recycled material, with a further
35% from sawmill waste such as sawdust, shavings & bark. Wood that is not suitable for MFC is transformed
into environmentally-friendly electricity and heat in biomass power plants, eliminating 1,487,001 tonnes of
CO₂from the environment, as compared to energy generation using natural gas. Our UK suppliers as
standard, supply 70% of all boards from FSC compliant source and are fully FSC and PEFC chain of custody
certified. However, we can on request, offer 100% FSC compliancy on the boards supplied.
MFC based on 65% manufactured with recycled content & 95% potential recyclability after deconstruction.
Includes generation of electricity & heat via industrial biomass power plants.

The top is supplied in 3 pieces
First assemble the 2 outer tops to the frame
M6 inserts in the underside of the top align
with holes/slots in the leg bracket top plates &
the cable tray.

The central plank is designed to be
removable.
It is secured in place using the 2x turn knobs
supplied.
Pass the threaded section through the
underframe crossbar into the M6 inserts in
the underside of the top.
Turn to secure in position.

INVOLV –Fabric Zipped Cable Riser
Installation
Step 1 - Unzip fabric cable riser & place against inside of leg.
Step 2 - Using screws supplied attach cable riser through steel
strip into pilot holes in inner leg.
Step 3 - Install cables & zip up to hold cables captive in riser.

The screen is profiled with a tongue that feeds
into the slot in the worktop. The tongue then feeds down into a ‘U’ shaped
profile at the base of the base of the cable tray.
This holds the screen in place.

Desk top power & data modules have set
locations. The cut outs in the cable tray allow the modules
mounting clamp to fit around the work top & cables to
feed into the cable tray.
Tablet devices & mobile phones
sit in the back slot only.
