Product Overview
Asia is a comprehensive range of planters that include freestanding planters (fixed or mobile),
storage top planters, planters that fit the Alchemy Fence & Fence4 shelf systems along with
freestanding planters on leg frames.
The freestanding fixed & mobile planters can be specified with a central glass panel to create a physical
barrier & to perform as a glass dry wipe board.
Freestanding planters are supplied assembled with fixed height adjustable feet. The freestanding
levelling feet are removed & replaced with castors when the mobile module is required. This operation
is carried out after delivery.
Whilst here we state the dimensions of standard modules 75% of our production are non standard
sizes.

Specification

1.0 Carcass Construction –the product to be constructed consists of the carcass
fabricated from 18mm furniture grade melamine faced chipboard with 2mmABS edge,
finish. Carcass components are held together with proprietary cam and dowel fixings.
1.1 The carcass should be height adjustable on 4 x levelling feet and these should be
accessed for adjustment from the underside the unit.
1.2 If a mobile option is required separate castors are supplied.
2.0 Plastic liner –the freestanding & mobile planters can be specified with an internal tray
to accommodate living plants. All other planters do not have the tray option & are designed
primarily for artificial planting.
3.0 Glass divider –a glass panel can be specified to sit centrally in the planter.
Constructed from 10mm toughened glass with a flat polished ground edge all round &
50mm rads at the corners.
3.1 The glass divider feeds down into a central slot & is held in place with 2x turned
aluminium bolts with nylon sleeve & washers.
4.0 Health & Safety –Alchemy Astia planters are designed to conform to all recognised
office furniture industry safety standards. Alchemy Furniture recommend that the product is
installed by qualified installation teams.
5.0 Finishes. Alchemy planters are available in a wide range of finishes along with the
ability to apply graphics to glass dividing panels. When selecting colours & graphic
treatments the needs of partially sighted users should be considered.

We have experience of supplying alternative MFC finishes, laminates such as Fenix, compact laminate, birch ply, birch ply with
laminate face, birch ply with lino face & Veneers. Please contact our sales team to discuss your requirements. Non standard
finishes may be subject to availability, minimum quantities & extended lead times.
For required finish, please suffix code with MA –Maple, AO –Alchemy Oak, RO –Rye Oak, BE –Beech, WL –Walnut,
WH –White, GR –Grey, WO –Washed Oak, MD –Mid Oak, VO –Vintage Oak. Standard specification will match the edge finish
with the top finish. Contrast edge & ply effect edge are available at standard cost.

Qualifications:
MFC
We use 18 & 25mm Melamine Faced Chipboard, with the industry standard 2mm pvc edge detail. This board
is sourced from responsible UK suppliers, who use the leading European board manufacturers; Kronospan
and Egger. 30% of the woodchips used in the creation of the board is from recycled material, with a further
35% from sawmill waste such as sawdust, shavings & bark. Wood that is not suitable for MFC is transformed
into environmentally-friendly electricity and heat in biomass power plants, eliminating 1,487,001 tonnes of
CO₂from the environment, as compared to energy generation using natural gas. Our UK suppliers as
standard, supply 70% of all boards from FSC compliant source and are fully FSC and PEFC chain of custody
certified. However, we can on request, offer 100% FSC compliancy on the boards supplied.
MFC based on 65% manufactured with recycled content & 95% potential recyclability after deconstruction.
