MG32 IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the
risk of fire, electric shock and /or injury to persons, including the following:
1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS.
2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles, knobs or dials.
3. To protect against fire, electric shock and injury to persons do not immerse cord, plug in water
or other liquid.
4. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
5. Unplugged from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before inserting or
removing parts and before cleaning the appliance.
6. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance
malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest authorized
service facility for examination, repair or adjustment.
7. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may
result in fire, electric shock or personal injury.
8. Do not use outdoors.
9. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
10. Do not place on or near a hot gas burner or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
11. Do not use the kettle for any purpose other than heating water. Do not place any utensils into
the kettle.
12. To disconnect, turn the control switch “OFF”, then remove the plug from the wall outlet.
13. After unpacking the appliance, be sure to dispose carefully of the plastic bags so that children
or the infirm cannot reach them.
14. Ensure that your mains supply voltage is the same as that marked on the underside of your
kettle.
15. Take care when pouring, do not over-fill the kettle as water may enter into the switch
mechanism.
16. Do not allow the mains lead to hang over the edge of the table or work surface, or anywhere
it may be accidentally caught or tripped over.
17. Remove the kettle from its power base before filling.
18. Never move the kettle while it is in use.
19. Do not use the kettle if you have wet hands.
20. Position the kettle properly on the power base before switching on.
21. Use the kettle only with delivered power base.

22. LID OPERATION:
• Press down lid until “click” for a correct engagement, as shown in fig. A
• Wait until kettle has cooled down and pull up to remove lid as shown in fig. B

TO PREVENT SCALDING:
• Never use the kettle without its lid.
• Do not remove the lid while the kettle is boiling.
• Water can remain hot for a long time after boiling and can present a scalding hazard. Keep
the kettle and the mains lead away from the edge of the work surface and out of the reach
of children, do not remove the lid until the kettle is cool down.

SHORT CORD SET INSTRUCTIONS
• A short power cord is provided to reduce risks resulting from becoming entangled in or
tripping over a longer cord.
• Longer, detachable power supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if
care is exercised in their use.
• If an extension cord is used, the marked electrical rating should be at least as great as
electrical rating of the appliance. If the appliance is provided with in 3 wire grounded type
cord, the extension should be a GROUNDING TYPE 3-WIRE CORD. The longer cord
should be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter top or table top where it can be
pulled on by children or tripped over.

AVVERTISSEMENTS IMPORTANTS
Lors de l’utilisation d’appareils électriques, il est nécessaire de respecter des prescriptions de
sécurité afin de minimiser les risques d’incendie, d’électrocution et/ou de blessure.
En particulier:
1. LIRE CE MODE D’EMPLOI.
2. Ne pas toucher les surfaces chaudes telles que, par exemple, la bouilloire ou son couvercle.
Utiliser les poignées ou les boutons prévus à cet effet.
3. Pour éviter tout risque électrique et d’incendie, ne pas plonger les éléments électriques, le
socle contenant la fiche et la bouilloire dans l’eau ou dans tout autre liquide.
4. Une attention particulière doit être portée lors de l’utilisation de la bouilloire en présence
d’enfants.
5. Débrancher la fiche de la prise de courant lorsque l’appareil n’est pas utilisé ou avant
d’effectuer toute opération de nettoyage. Laisser refroidir avant d’introduire ou de retirer des
éléments et de procéder au nettoyage de l’appareil.
6. Ne pas utiliser la bouilloire en cas d’endommagement des parties électriques ou de la fiche, de
mauvais fonctionnement de la bouilloire ou de n’importe quelle panne. Pour toute réparation,
l’appareil devra être confié à un centre après-vente, afin d’éviter tout type de danger.
7. L’utilisation d’accessoires non prescrits par le fabricant pourrait entraîner des risques
d’incendie, d’électrocution ou de blessure.
8. Ne pas employer l’appareil à l’extérieur.
9. Veiller à ce que le cordon d’alimentation de la bouilloire ne pende pas du bord de la table et
ne touche pas de surfaces chaudes.
10. Ne pas placer la bouilloire, le socle et les parties électriques à proximité de plans chauds,
tables de cuisson ou fourneaux.
11. Ne pas utiliser la bouilloire pour un usage différent de celui auquel elle est destinée, c’est-à-
dire chauffer de l’eau. Ne pas immerger d’objets dans la bouilloire.
12. Pour débrancher, tourner l’interrupteur sur la positionne OFF, puis retirer fiche de la prise de
courant.
13. Après avoir sorti l’appareil de son emballage, éliminer les sacs en plastique, afin d’éviter leur
utilisation par les enfants.
14. S’assurer que la tension de votre installation électrique corresponde bien à celle indiqué sous
la bouilloire.
15. Veiller à ne pas incliner excessivement la bouilloire afin d’éviter que de l’eau ne pénètre à
l’intérieur du mécanisme de l’interrupteur de mise en marche et d’arrêt ON/OFF.
16. Veiller à ce que le cordon d’alimentation de la bouilloire ne pende pas du bord de la table, du
plan de travail ou de toute autre surface, afin d’éviter tout accrochage ou chute.
17. Avant de remplir la bouilloire, la retirer de son socle.

18. Ne jamais déplacer la bouilloire lorsqu’elle est en train de fonctionner.
19. Ne pas utiliser la bouilloire, les mains mouillées.
20. Positionner correctement la bouilloire avant de la mettre en marche.
21. Utiliser la bouilloire exclusivement avec le socle électrique livré.
22. UTILISATION DU COUVERCLE:
• Pour un positionnement correct, presser le couvercle jusqu’à entendre le “click”, comme
indiqué dans la fig. A.
• Attendre le refroidissement complet de la bouilloire, puis ôter le couvercle comme indiqué
dans la fig. B.

POUR EVITER LES BRÛLURES:
• Ne jamais utiliser la bouilloire sans son couvercle.
• Ne jamais enlever le couvercle pendant l’ébullition.
• Après l’ébullition, l’eau peut demeurer chaude longtemps, d’où un risque de brûlures.
Positionner la bouilloire et le cordon d’alimentation loin du bord de la surface de travail et
hors de la portée des enfants; ne pas retirer le couvercle tant que la bouilloire n’a pas refroidi.

LE CORDON SPECIAL
• L’appareil est muni d’un cordon d’alimentation court (ou bien d’un cordon d’alimentation
détachable) pour réduire les risques d’enchevêtrement et la possibilité de trébucher sur un
cordon plus long.
• Des cordons d’alimentation détachables plus longs ou des fils de rallonge sont également
disponibles; il faut cependant les utiliser avec précaution.
• Si l’on utilise un cordon long détachable ou une rallonge, les spécifications électriques du
cordon ou de la rallonge doivent être au moins équivalentes à celles de l’appareil. Si l’appareil
est équipé d’une mise à la terre, la rallonge doit être constituée d’UN CORDON A TROIS
FILS AVEC TERRE, et le cordon long doit être rangé de manière à ce qu’il ne soit pas étalé
sur le comptoir ou la table, où il pourrait être tiré par les enfants, ou sur lequel on pourrait
trébucher.

ATTENZIONE!
• Leggere attentamente le

bollitore.
• Verificare che la tensione del
vostro impianto elettrico cor-
risponda a quella indicata sul
fondo del bollitore e/o sulla
base di alimentazione.
• Non immergere il bollitore, la
base di alimentazione o il cavo
elettrico in acqua o altro liqui-
do.
• Non utilizzare il bollitore in
locali adibiti a bagno o in pros-
simità di altre sorgenti d’acqua.
• Come ogni elettrodomestico,
anche questo prodotto non
deve essere usato all’aperto.
• Evitate il contatto diretto con
parti metalliche calde quali il
corpo del bollitore ed il coper-
chio. Usare solo il manico ed il
pomello.
• Non togliere il coperchio
durante il funzionamento.
• Per versare l’acqua è necessario
levare il tappo paraspruzzi ad
uccellino. Per evitare di scottar-
vi consigliamo sempre l’uso di
pattine e di prestare attenzione
agli eventuali sbuffi di vapore.
• Tenere il bollitore lontano dal
bordo del piano di lavoro per
evitare rischi di rovesciamento.
• Tenere il bollitore fuori dalla
portata dei bambini.
• Staccare la spina dalla presa di
corrente quando l’apparecchio
non viene utilizzato e prima di
pulirlo. Lasciare raffreddare il
bollitore prima di pulirlo.

disegnato da Michael Graves
nel 2001, è prodotto in acciaio
inossidabile 18/10 e resina
termoplastica. Il prodotto è stato
testato e approvato per garantire la
sicurezza del consumatore.

toglierlo dalla base di alimenta-
zione.

Prima dell’uso
• Rimuovere tutti i componenti di
imballaggio dal bollitore e dalla
base di alimentazione.
• Rimuovere il filtro anticalcare
spingendo con un oggetto di forma
allungata e non appuntito dal foro
del becco di versamento verso l’in-
terno del bollitore fino a provocare
la fuoriuscita del filtro dalla pro-
pria sede (fig.2).

• Lavare il filtro accuratamente.
• Riempire il bollitore e portare ad
ebollizione (vedi paragrafo succes-
sivo: uso del bollitore). Ripetere
tale operazione due volte per
accertarsi che il bollitore sia pulito.
• Installare il filtro: tenendo la
linguetta in alto rivolta verso
l’interno del bollitore appoggiare

dapprima il lembo inferiore e poi

Uso del bollitore
Base di alimentazione
• La base di alimentazione consente
l’appoggio e l’utilizzo del bollitore
sulla stessa in qualsiasi angolatura.
• Per allungare il cavo, capovolgere
la base di alimentazione e srotola-
re il cavo elettrico dall’avvolgicavo.
Regolare la lunghezza di
cavo necessaria per rag-
giungere la presa di
alimentazione
utilizzando
gli appositi
passanti (fig.4)
• Non lasciare
pendere il cavo dal
piano di lavoro.
Riempimento
• Togliere il bollitore dalla base di
alimentazione prima di riempirlo.
• Rimuovere il coperchio e riempire
il bollitore fino
al livello desi-
derato.

• Riempire il bollitore con almeno
una tazza d’acqua (livello minimo)
al fine di evitare che l’apparecchio
funzioni a secco; un uso improprio
in tal senso riduce la vita dell’ap-
parecchio.
• Non superare il livello massimo
di 1,5 litri (limite segnato dal-
l’indicatore di livello massimo
posto all’interno del bollitore).
L’eccessivo riempimento del
bollitore oltre il livello massimo
comporta il rischio di fuoriuscita
di acqua bollente dal becco di ver-
samento con conseguente pericolo
di ustioni (fig. 6).

Accensione
• Chiudere il bollitore e il becco con
il coperchio e il tappo paraspruzzi
a uccellino.
• Verificare che il coperchio sia ben
chiuso.
• Inserire la spina della base di ali-
mentazione nella presa di corrente.
• La base di alimentazione deve
SEMPRE essere posizionata su una
superficie piana e stabile.
• Appoggiare il bollitore sulla base
di alimentazione. Il bollitore fun-
ziona in qualsiasi posizione.
• Spostare il pulsante di accensione
ON/OFF verso l’alto nella posi-
zione per accendere il bollitore
(fig. 7).

• Le spie luminose sul fondo del
bollitore si accenderanno.
• Il bollitore si spegnerà automati-
camente alcuni secondi dopo che
l’acqua avrà raggiunto l’ebollizione
(l’interruttore ON/OFF si sposterà
in modo automatico nella posi-
zione
e le spie si spegneranno).
L’uccellino paraspruzzi non emet-
te nessun suono.
• Per spegnere il bollitore prima del
raggiungimento dell’ebollizione
spostare l’interruttore ON/OFF
verso il basso nella posizione
o semplicemente sollevare il bol-
litore dalla base di alimentazione
(l’apparecchio si spegnerà auto-
maticamente e l’interruttore si
sposterà nella posizione
).
Versamento
• Prima di versare, togliere l’uccelli-
no paraspruzzi posto sul becco di
versamento.
• Sollevare il
bollitore dalla
base di ali-
mentazione e
versare l’acqua
con attenzione.
Non inclinare
eccessivamen-
te il bollitore ed evitare movimenti
bruschi.
Attenzione!
Sollevando il bollitore dalla base di
alimentazione è possibile osservare delle
gocce d’acqua sulla superficie superio-
re della base di alimentazione. Ciò è
dovuto alla condensazione del vapore
che fa sì che il bollitore si spenga auto-
maticamente una volta che l’acqua
raggiunge l’ebollizione. Tale fenomeno è
da considerarsi del tutto normale e non
deve causare allarme.
• Il fondo del bollitore durante l’uso
non raggiunge temperature elevate
ed è isolato termicamente: dopo
il versamento potete appoggiare il
bollitore su qualsiasi superficie.

• Evitare di sollevare il coperchio
finchè il bollitore non si è raffred-
dato. Vi consigliamo di impugnare
il coperchio come illustrato in
figura 9.

Manutenzione
Pulizia del bollitore
• Attendere che il bollitore si sia
raffreddato completamente e
scollegare l’apparecchio prima di
effettuare le operazioni di pulizia.
• Non immergere il bollitore e/o la
base di alimentazione in acqua.
• Pulire il bollitore esternamente uti-
lizzando un panno morbido umido
con un normale detergente da
cucina e asciugarlo con un panno
morbido asciutto.
• Non usare prodotti lucidanti o
agenti abrasivi che potrebbero dan-
neggiare le parti metalliche e/o in
plastica.
• Al termine della pulizia verificare
che i connettori e le prese siano
perfettamente asciutti.
• Per la pulizia accurata del coper-
chio svitare il pomolo (D) e lavare
i pezzi separatamente con acqua
corrente e detersivo. Asciugare con
cura e rimontare come illustrato in
figura 1.
Incrostazioni di calcare
• Il calcare (carbonato di calcio)
è un minerale naturale innocuo
presente nell’acqua, che può depo-
sitarsi creando un sottile strato
solido sulle pareti interne del bol-
litore, sul filtro anticalcare e sulla
superficie dell’acqua. Nel caso in
cui si noti la formazione di calcare
è necessario pulire il bollitore con
una miscela di acqua e aceto.
Al termine di tale operazione far
bollire alcune volte cambiando
ogni volta l’acqua in modo da
rimuovere residui della miscela
usata che potrebbero alterare il
gusto dell’acqua.
SICUREZZA!
Interruttore automatico on/off
• Il bollitore dispone di un
interruttore ON/OFF (fig.7)
che spegne l’apparecchio in
modo automatico quando
l’acqua è giunta ad ebollizione.
Per far bollire nuovamente
l’acqua è necessario attendere
circa 1 minuto dopo il
quale è possibile riportare
l’interruttore nella posizione
.
Dispositivo di sicurezza
• Se il bollitore viene acceso
con una quantità d’acqua
insufficiente o in assenza
d’acqua, un dispositivo
di sicurezza interrompe
l’alimentazione elettrica
proteggendolo dall’eventuale
danneggiamento. In tal caso
disconnettere il bollitore dalla
rete di alimentazione e lasciare
raffreddare prima di riempirlo
nuovamente con dell’acqua
fredda.

Filtro anticalcare
• Il bollitore è dotato
di un filtro anticalcare
che impedisce che le
particelle di calcare
formatesi all’interno
del bollitore vengano versate nelle
bevande.

ATTENZIONE!
La formazione di calcare può
causare il surriscaldamento del
bollitore e ridurne il ciclo di vita.
Può inoltre attivare l’interrutore
automatico ON/OFF e spegnere
l’apparecchio prima che l’acqua

by Michael Graves in 2001, is
made of 18/10 stainless steel and
thermoplastic resin. The product
has been tested and approved to
guarantee consumer safety.
WARNING!
• Read the instructions carefully

• Always unplug the kettle when
not in use and before cleaning
it. Allow the kettle to cool

Before using the equipment
• Remove all the packaging from
the kettle and from the power
base.
• Remove the anti-scale filter using
a long (but not pointed) object,
pushing down through spout
towards the inside of the kettle
until the filter comes out of its
housing (fig.2).

• Wash the filter thoroughly.
• Fill the kettle and bring it to the
boil (see the next paragraph: using
the kettle). Repeat this operation
twice to make sure the kettle is
clean.
• Install the filter: keeping the tab
at the top pointing towards the
inside of the kettle, first position
the bottom edge and then push

Using the kettle
Power base
• The power base allows the kettle
to be placed and used on it at any
angle.
• To extend the cable, turn the
power base upside down and
unroll the electrical cable from
the cable holder. Pull out
the right amount
of cable needed
to reach the
power socket,
using the slots
provided (fig.4).
• Do not allow the
cable to hang from the
worktop.
Filling
• Remove the kettle from the power
base before filling it.
• Remove the lid and fill the kettle
up to the required level (fig. 5).
• Do not fill the kettle from the
spout.
• Fill the kettle with only as much
water as you intend to use: this
will reduce
boiling time.
Remember
that less boiling
time means
less limescale
building up.
• Fill the kettle
with at least a
cup of water
(minimum level) so that it will not
boil dry; incorrect use such as this
will greatly reduce its working life.

• Do not exceed the maximum
capacity of 1.5 litres (the maxi-
mum level mark inside the kettle
(fig. 6). Filling the kettle beyond
the maximum level mark brings
the risk of boiling water over-
flowing from the spout with the
consequent danger of scalding.

Switching on
• Close the kettle and the spout
with the lid and the bird anti-
spray cap.
• Make sure the lid is closed proper-
ly.
• Plug the lead from the power base
into the power socket.
• The power base must ALWAYS be
placed on a flat and stable surface.
• Place the kettle on the power base.
The kettle will work in any posi-
tion.
• Flick the ON/OFF switch upwards
to the position to turn the ket-
tle on (fig. 7).

• The indicator lights on the bottom
of the kettle will come on.
• The kettle will turn off automati-
cally a few seconds after the water
has reached boiling point (the
ON/OFF switch will automatically
revert to the
position and the
indicator lights will go out).

power base (the equipment will

Pouring out
• Before pouring out, remove the
bird anti-spray cap from the spout.
• Lift the kettle off its power base
and pour out
the water

Limescale
• Limescale (calcium carbonate) is
a harmless natural mineral found
in water, which can build up to
create a thin solid layer on the
inner walls of the kettle, on the
anti-scale filter and on the surface
of the water. Descale the kettle
regularly, using a mixture of water
and vinegar, when any build up of
limescale is found. After this ope-
ration, boil the kettle a few times,
each time changing the water, in
order to remove any residue of the
mixture used which may alter the
taste of the water.
Anti-scale filter
• The kettle is equipped
with an anti-scale filter
that stops any limescale
present inside the kettle
from being poured into
drinks.
• The filter can be removed and
washed out. (fig. 2, fig. 3)

Maintenance
Cleaning the kettle
• Wait until the kettle has cooled
down completely and unplug it
before carrying out any cleaning
operations.
• Do not immerse the kettle and/or
the power base in water.
• Clean the outside of the kettle
using a soft cloth dampened with
normal household detergent and
then rub it over with a soft dry
cloth.
• Do not use polishing products or
abrasive agents which could dama-
ge the metal and/or plastic parts.
• After cleaning, make sure that the
connectors and plugs are perfectly
dry.
• To clean the lid properly, unscrew
the knob (D) and wash the items
separately with a detergent under
running water. Dry them carefully
SAFETY DEVICES
Automatic on/off
• The kettle has an ON/OFF
switch (fig. 7) that turns
the kettle off automatically
when the water has boiled.
To boil the water again it will
be necessary to wait approx.
1 minute, after which the
switch can be turned to the
position again.
Safety cut-out
• If the kettle is switched on
with not enough water in it or
with no water at all, a safety
cut-out switch will cut off the
power supply to prevent any
damage to the kettle. In this
case, unplug the kettle from
the power socket and leave it
to cool before filling it again
with cold water.

WARNING!
Scale build-up will cause the
element to overheat, reducing its
working life. It may also cause
the safety cutout to operate pre-
maturely, switching the kettle off
before the water actually boils.

• Retirer le filtre anti-calcaire en
le poussant à l’aide d’un objet
allongé (et non pointu) du bec
verseur vers l’intérieur de la
bouilloire jusqu’à le faire sortir de
son siège (fig.2).

Utilisation de la bouilloire
Base d’alimentation
• La base d’alimentation permet de
reposer et d’utiliser la bouilloire
dans toutes les orientations.
• Pour allonger le cordon, retourner
la base d’alimentation et dérouler
le cordon de l’enrouleur. Régler la
longueur nécessaire pour atteindre
la prise d’alimentation et
passer le cordon dans
les encoches passe-
câble prévues
(fig. 4).
• Ne jamais
laisser le cordon
pendre du plan de
travail.
Remplissage
• Retirer la bouilloire de la base
d’alimentation avant de la remplir.
• Retirer le couvercle et remplir
jusqu’au niveau désiré (fig.5).
• Ne jamais
remplir la
bouilloire par
le bec verseur.
• Remplir la
bouilloire
avec la
quantité d’eau
nécessaire: on
réduit ainsi les
temps d’ébullition. Ne pas oublier
que plus les temps d’ébullition
sont courts, moins il y aura
formation de calcaire.
• Verser dans la bouilloire au moins
