specifiedboundarywhenusedasdescribedinthisUser’s
Guide.Therefore,alwaysreadtheinstructionsinthisUser's
Guidecarefullybeforeusingtheproduct.

ThePet‐1stindoorpettrainingsystemisnottobeused
foraggressivepets.Donotusethisproductifyourpets
tendtobehaveaggressively.Aggressivepets,especially
aggressivedogscancauseseriousinjuryordeathto
humans.
Theproductshallnotbeusedasasolidbarrier.Itis
designedtobeusedasadeterrentthatappliesstatic
correctiontorestrictpetstoremainoutsideofan
establishedbarrierarea.
Trainingswithyourpetduringtheinitialuseofthe
productandonaregularbasisareimportantand
necessary.Thetoleranceleveltothestimulation
correctionvariesfrompettopet.Therefore,Alford

keepapetoutsideoftheestablishedbarrierareainall

InstalltheAwayzonein
theareathatyourpetshouldstayaway.TheAwayzonewill
transmitradiosignalsinthesphericaldirectionwiththe
radiusspecifiedintheFencingCollarbyyouupto3meters
(9.8feet)inradius,or6meters(or19.6feet)indiameter.

Area,about5secondsof"free"barkingtimewhichonly
warningbeepwillalertyourpetwithnoelectricalsignal
emitted.Ifyourpetcontinuesmovingtowardthedevice

neck.Thestimulationcorrection
levelissetbyyou.Thehigher
levelofstimulationcorrection
meansthestrongerelectric
shockitdelivers.The
stimulationcorrectionrepeats
untilyourpetleavesthe
AwayzoneArea.


5.OperatingGuide
BeforeinstalltheAwayzoneandapplytheFencingCollarto
yourpet,pleasemakesurebothdeviceshavebatteries
installedandpoweroff.

5.1InstalltheAwayzone
YoumayplacetheAwayzoneonawall,afloororasurface.
SincetheAwayzoneemitsradiosignalstoaspherical
direction,thesignalsaretransmittedmoreeffectively
towardthedirectionwithoutobstacles.Thesignalsmay
passthroughaceilingorwallandbecomeweaker.
Structuresorobjectswithmetalelementsembeddedwill
alsoweakenthedirectionalsignalsbehindthe
structures/objects.

Pleasenote:
DonotinstalltheAwayzoneonmetalsurfaces.
DonotplacetheAwayzoneadjacenttolargemetal
objects,e.g.oven,washer,refrigerator,etc.
DonotinstalltheAwayzoneclosetotheinternetwireless
transmitter,audiodevice,televisionsatellitedisk,etc.
Applytheanti‐slipstickypadsonthebackofthe
Awayzonebeforeplacingonthehorizontalsurface,or
installscrewstothewallandmounttheAwayzone.


ATTENTION
DonotinstalltheAwayzoneinanoutdoorenvironment.
TheAwayzoneshallbekeptawayfromwetspots,orplaces
ofhighhumidity.

5.2SetUptheAwayzone
CAUTION
RemovetheFencingCollarfromyourpetfirst.Donot
performtestsortrytosetupthedeviceswhenyourpetis
wearingtheCollar.

1.Makesurethereare4*AAbatteriesinstalledinthe
Awayzone.Or,unscrewthebatterydooronthebackof
theAwayzoneandplace4*AAbatteriesinsidethe
batterycompartment.Then,closethebatterydoorand
secureitwithascrew.(RefertoFig.6)
2.PowerOn:PressandholdthePowerKey onthefront
sideoftheAwayzonefor2seconds.Whenthelightturns
green,releasethebuttonandtheindicatorstaysgreen
for3seconds,confirmingthepowerison.
3.TheAwayzonecomeswithanenergy‐efficientdesign.In
astandbymode,theindicatorflashesgreenevery5
seconds.



4.PowerOff:For
turningthepower
off,pressandhold
thePowerKey 
fortheindicator
toturngreen.
Afterpressingthe
buttonfor2
seconds,the
greenlightwill
turnoff,indicating
thatthepoweris
off.Releasethebutton.
5.IfthebatteryleveloftheAwayzoneislow,theindicator
flashesred..
6.SinceoneAwayzonecanpairwithunlimitednumberof
theFencingCollars,youcansetupseveralFencingCollars
ofvariousAwayzoneAreaswithdifferentradiuses
centeredattheAwayzonepositiontooperateatdifferent
levelsofStimulationCorrection.Thisfeatureisespecially
designedforuserswhohavemorethanonepet.Please
referto“SetUptheFencingCollar”onsettingupthe
differentAwayzoneAreasanddifferentlevelsof
StimulationCorrection.
7.TocheckwhetherthepoweroftheAwayzoneison,tap
thePowerKey once.Ifthedeviceisturnedon,the


indicatorturnsgreenfor3seconds.
5.3"Free"barkingduration
Yourdogisallowedfivesecondsof"free"barkingtime,
duringwhichjustwarningbeepwilltrigger.Shouldyour
dogcontinuetobark,theNoBarkCollarwilladministera
stimulationcorrectionatthelevelthatyouhaveselected.

5.4TesttheAwayzoneArea
WhenyouperformtestontheAwayzonewithoutplacing
theFencingCollaronyourpet,pleasekeepyourhands
awayfromthemetalcontactsontheFencingCollar.

1.PleaserefertoStep6inthe“SetUptheFencingCollar”
sectionabout“distancesetting”todefinethedistance
betweentheFencingCollarandtheAwayzone.
2.PleaserefertoStep9inthe“SetUptheFencingCollar”
sectionabout“Stimulationcorrectionsetting”.Setthe
stimulationcorrectionleveltolevel0(audioalertsound
only,noelectrical‐stimulation)forthetestingandtraining
purpose.
3.TurnthepowerofboththeAwayzoneandtheFencing
Collaron.
4.KeeptheFencingCollaratabouttheheightofyourpet.
First,startoutsidetherangeandmovetowardthe
Awayzone.AsyouenterthespecifiedAwayzoneArea,the

FencingCollarbeginstoemitaseriesofbeepsound.
Beepsoundonlyforthestimulationcorrectionlevel0.
Forthestimulationcorrectionlevel1to8,youwillsee
indicatorsflashesgreenandredalternatively.Thebeep
soundmaybedifficultforsomepeopletohear,butis
easilyheardbyyourpets.
5.WhenyoumoveawayfromtheAwayzoneArea,thebeep
soundandthestimulationcorrectionwillstop.
6.Ifyoufeelthatyoudonotgettheexactrangeofthe
setting,pleasetrytomovetheAwayzoneafewsteps
away,orlaythedeviceflatonthesurfaceinsteadofon
thewall,removeitemsthatmayblockthedevice.Toget
thebestresults,theAwayzoneshallbeplacedona
nonconductivesurface,orawayfromanyobjects
containingmetalelementsthatcanalterthemagnetic
field.

InordertomaintainaneffectiveoperationoftheFencing
Collar,tofittheFencingCollartoyourpetcorrectlyand
properlyisessential.

1.Makesureyourpetisinacomfortablestandingposition.
2.MakesureboththeAwayzoneandtheFencingCollarare
inpoweroffstate.

4.Adjustthetightnessof
theFencingCollar;
re‐arrangetheslidebuckleandproperlythreadedthe
FencingCollar.Theridgesshallbefacingoutwardforeasy

5.CheckthetightnessoftheFencingCollarbyinsertingtwo
fingersunderneathit.Thefitshouldbesnugbutnot
constricting.Ifnecessary,trimsomeofyourdog'shair
wheretheFencingCollarmakesconstantwithyourdog's
skinatalltimesforaconsistentstimulation.(Referto

5.4ChangeMetalContacts
IncludedwiththePAZ‐100aremetalcontactsofthree
differentlength(short,mediumandlong)thatdeliver
stimulationcorrectiontoyourdog.Choosethemetal
contactsofappropriatelengthforyourdog’shaircoat.If
yourdoghasdensecoatsorundercoats,useoneofthe
longermetalcontactsincludedwithyourPBZ‐100.

IMPORTANT
MakesurethatyoupowerofftheFencingCollarbefore
replacingthemetalcontacts.Makesurethatthemetal
contactsaresecurelyfastened.Donotovertighten.

Usingyourfingerstounscrewthemetalcontacts
counter‐clockwisetoloosenandremovethem
Insertanotherpairofmetalcontactsoftheappropriate
lengthandgentlyscrewclockwisewithyourfingersto
tightenthem.

5.5UsingMultipleFencingCollars
1.Ifyouhavemorethanonepet,whenyouusethePet‐1st

pettrainingsystemforthefirsttime,itisrecommended
thatyouallowonepetintrainingarea,puttheFencing
Collarononepet,andtrainonepetatatime.Bydoingso,
yourpetwillbeabletofocusonthetraining,learnthe
signalsandcomplywithyourinstructioneasier.Youwill
beabletogiveyourfullattentionduringthetraining
process.
2.SetupeachCollarwithadesireddistancesettingforthe
AwayzoneAreaandsetthestimulationcorrectionto
Level0(alertsoundonly,noelectricalstimulation)first
beforeyouapplythestepsof“PuttheFencingCollaron
YourPet”foreachpet.
3.Whenyoutrainmorethanonepet,itisrecommendedto
removetheFencingCollarfromthepetrightafterits
trainingsessioniscompletedbeforeyoubegintraining
thesecondpet.Leadyourpettoanotherroomorarea
beforebringingthesecondpettotheAwayzoneAreafor
training.

5.5TrainYourPet
Beforeyoustarttrainingyourpet,pleasemakesurethe
FencingCollarisproperlyputaroundyourpet’sneck.
Pleaserefertothestepsof“PuttheFencingCollaronYour
Pet”.LeadyourpetoutsidetheAwayzoneAreabeforeyou
turnboththeAwayzoneandtheFencingCollarpoweron.


5.6FirstTrainingSession
Theobjectiveoftrainingyourpetsinresponsetothe
operationofthePet‐1stinvisiblePAZ‐100istoletyourpets
learntoleave/avoidtheAwayzoneAreasyouspecified,
followingastimulationcorrection.Afterfewrepeated
trainings,yourpetswilllearntoavoidtheuncomfortable
feelingincurredintheAwayzoneAreas.Eventually,thepets
willbeaccustomedtostayoutsidetheAwayzoneArea.

Pleasegiveyourfullattentiontoyourpetduringthefirst
trainingsessionandobservecarefullyitsresponse,inorder
toguideyourpettoafasterlearningprocess.Itmaytake
severalsessionsforyourpettounderstandandlearnto
copewiththeexistenceoftheAwayzoneAreasinceeach
petlearnsatadifferentrate.Pleaseremembertopraise
yourpeteverytimeafteritfollowsyourinstructionsand
leavetheAwayzoneArea.Bydoingthenegativeand
positivereinforcementstrategies,yourpetmayeasily
determinetheinvisiblefencedareaitself.

1.TurntheAwayzonepoweron.
2.StartthefirsttrainingsessionfromoutsidetheAwayzone
Area.
3.PlacetheFencingCollararoundyourpet’sneckandmake
surethatthemetalcontactsdirectlycontacttheskinof
yourpet’sneck.
