Hot Components

Installation

TO DO SO, UNSCREW AND REMOVE THE ENGINE'S OIL DIPSTICK LOCATED
ATTHE SOTTOM OF THE ENGINE CRANKCASE. FlLL THE ENGINE'S
CRANKCASE UNTIL THEOIL LEVEL IS LEVEL WITH THE UPPER MARKED
LINE ON THE DIPWICK. THEN SCREW THE DIPSTICK BACK INTO
THE OIL FlLL HOLE.

Powering 120 Volt AC Tools And Equipment:
1. Priorto powenng tools and equipment, make sure the generator's rated Wage, and amperage
capacity (l20VAC B 41 AMPS) isadequatetosupply all electrical loads that the unit will
power.ifpowering exceedsthe generator's capacity,

to a separate generator.

2. Once the generator w running, simply connect the powercords of 120 volt AC powered
tools and equipment into the 120 volt AC dual outlets.
NOTE THE GENE RATOR FEATURES AN AC MOM-FUSE CIRCUIT BREAKER
TO PROTECT THE AC CIRCUIT IN CASE OF AN OVERLOAD. SHOULD
AN OVERLOAD OCCUR, THE BREAKER WILL 'TRIPn TO ITS'"FFU POSXTTON,
CAUSING THE GENERATOR TO AUTOMATICALLY SHUTDOWN. IN THIS CASE,
REFER TO ABOVE IN THIS POSITION. THEN, RESET f ff E CIRCUITRY
SYSTEM BY TURNING THE CIRCUIT BREAKER TO 1'iS"ON" POSITION.
RESTARTTHE GENERATOR
AND CONTINUEPOWERING THE REMAlNfNG
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT.
3. Note: Ifthe generator breaker trips. Turn the fuelvalve to its 'OFF" position.
4. Dfsconnectall electrical poweredtools and equipment from the generator's 120 vott AC
dueloutlets.

Powering 12 VoR DC tools and Equipment:
1. Priorto powering toolsand equipment, make surethegenerator's ratedvoltage, and ampwage
capacity (1PVDC) is adequate to supply allelectrical foadsthat the unEt wit1 power.Ifpowering
exceeds the generator's capacity, it may be newsarj to group oneerrnore of thetoots andtor
equipment for connection to a separategenerator.
2. Connect the power cord of a 12 WC powered tool or equipmentto the DC Terminats.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE TO CONNECT WE POSlYlVE (+) LEAD OF THE
POWER CORD TO THE POSIIVE (+) TERMINAL ONTHE GENERATOR,
AND CONNECT THE NEGATIVE (-1 LEAD OF THE POWER CORD TOTHE
NEGATIVE [-) TERMINAL ON THE GENERATOR.
3. Start and run the engineas desmibed above
4. Whenfinishedusingthe generator, turn theenginepower switch to its "OFFw position, Turn
the fuel vatwe to its '"OFF" posrtion.
5. Disconnect the electricalpowered tools' powercord fmm the generator's DC terminals.
6. After theengine and genemtor have completetycooled, store the generator in a safe, clean, dry
location(if not
already instalfedinone).

Spark Rug Service
Inorder to serv~ce the spark plug, you will need a spark plug wmch {commerciallyavailablel.
Recommended spark plugs: NHSP LO F7 RTC. To ensure proper engine opmtion,thespark plug
must bepropedy gapped and freeof deposits.
I, Flemove the spark plug cap.
2. Use a spark plug wrench to removethespark plug.
3. Visuatly inspect the spark plug. Discard it rf the insulatoris cracked or chipped. Cleanthe spark
plug with a wire brush ifit is to be reused.
4. Measure the plug gap wRh a feeler gauge.
5. Check that the spark plugwasher is In good conditwn.
6. After the spark plugis seated, tighten wtth a spark plug in by handto prevent cross-threading,
7, After thespark plugisseated, t~gMen with a spark plug wrenchto compress thewasher.
MOTE: THE SPARK PLUG MUST BE SECURELY TIGHTENED. AN IMPROPERLY
TIGHTENED SPARK PLUG CAN BECOME VERY HOT AND COULD DAMAGE THE
ENGINE.
NEVER USE SPARK PLUGS WHICH HAVE AN IMPROPER HEATRANGE.
USE ONLY RECOMMENDED SPARK PLUS OR EQUIVALENT.

Supporting and Mounting
Mount the generator on a concrete slab capable of supporting the wefght of the generator. The
slab
must extend onall sides beyond the frame by at least one foot. Contact a cement contractor
for slab specificationsif necessary. Attach the frame totheconcrete slab using 3/8" diameter
expansonanchor bolts(notsupplied).
Grounding
NOTE IT IS RECOMMEMDEDTHAT ONLY A TRAlNEDbND LICENSED
ELECTRICIAN PERFORM THIS PROCEDURE
Connect a 66 AWG groundingwire (not included) trom the ground connectoron the
generator power panel (picture below) to a grounding rod (picturebelow).Itmust be driven
at Ieast 24" deep into the earth (Soil). The grounding rod must be an earth-driven copper or
brass
(electrode) which can adequatelyground the generator.
