Safety and Security
The system is operationally safe when used for the
intended purpose. The construction and design of the
system meets today's technological standards and
complies with all relevant DIN/VDE regulations and all
relevant safety regulations.
Every person who performs work on the unit must
have read and understood the operating manual prior
to starting any work. This also applies if the respective
person has already worked with such a unit or a similar
unit or has been trained by the manufacturer.
Every person who performs work on the unit must
comply with the applicable accident prevention and
safety regulations. This applies in particular to the
wearing of personal safety equipment.
DANGER!
Prior to designing and assembling the
system, ensure that the underlying surface
has an adequate static load carrying
capacity.
When a wooden frame forms the
underlying surface, an adequate level
of quality, stability and long-term
durability is a must. In order to improve
the substrate, consult with a certied
structural engineer.
DANGER!
When checking and calculating statics, the
snow loading which may occur, according
to the installation location, must be taken
into account and if necessary the xings
strengthened accordingly. Snow build-up
caused by snow-guards is to be avoided.
The distance from the edge of the roof
should be at least 1m.
DANGER!
Danger of fatal injury due to electric
current! Electrical connections may be
installed only by qualied electricians.
Observe the relevant EN-, VDE- and
applicable local safety regulations.
Before opening and connection the
electrical components of the systems,
disconnect the system from the power
supply and secure it from being switched
back on!
ATTENTION
The installation must comply with the appropri-
ate local technological regulations
The properly mounted system may only be con-
nected by an authorised specialist (tter).
STATICS
The static testing is the responsibility of the client!
The underlying structure and fastening are to be
checked by a structural engineer prior to assembly
and designed in accordance with local conditions. When
installing in locations prone to snow and wind, testing of
the fastening construction is necessary.
If the collectors are elevated by means of concrete
blocks or gravel trays, additional protection (wind
bracing) may be necessary.

Building law
Operation of a solar installation is not subject to ofcial
approval. An exception to this rule is installations on
listed buildings
Check whether there is a local obligation to notify the
installation.
Operation
Your decision to purchase a solar system and/or a heat
pump system is a long-term contribution to protecting
the environment through low emissions and reduced
primary energy use.
You can operate and control the solar system with the
control element of the solar and, if applicable, the heat
pump regulator.
NOTICE
Make sure that the control settings are correct.
Operating manual of the solar and heat pump
regulator.
To ensure your solar system operates efciently and in
an ecologically-friendly manner, you should in particular
note the following:
€ENERGY SAVING TIP
Avoid unnecessarily high feed temperatures. For
solar systems which support room heating the
following applies: A lower ow temperature on
the hot water side increases the efciency of the
whole system.
€ENERGY SAVING TIP
When letting in fresh air, do not leave windows
open for an extended period; this will save en-
ergy and reduce your heating costs.
Maintaining the system
When the installation slope is larger than 20°, it is not
necessary to clean the collectors.
All components should be checked and serviced annually
within the framework of regular maintenance.
ATTENTION
The glass surfaces of the collectors may only be
sprayed with tap water; cleaning agents and/or
mechanical cleaning devices are not to be used.
Maintenance
The components of the collector circuit and the heating
circuit (valves, expansion vessels, circulating pumps)
should be inspected annually by a qualied technician
(heating tter).
If the permissible pH value of the solar liquids falls below
7, there is a danger of pipeline corrosion. The solar
liquids are to be completely replaced.
It is a good idea to have a maintenance contract with a
heating installation company. The company will conduct
the required maintenance at regular intervals
The collectors should be inspected at least once a year
within the framework of system maintenance to check
for outward defects.
