The calculated routeisforreferenceonly.Itistheuser sresponsibilityto
followthe trafficsignsand localregulationsalongtheroads.
When youget offthe car,do notleaveyour deviceon the dashboardthat
issubjecttodirectsunlight.The overheating ofthe batterycan cause
malfunctionand/or danger.
GPS isoperatedbythe UnitedStatesgovernment,whichissolely
responsiblefor theperformanceofGPS. AnychangetotheGPS system
can affect theaccuracyofallGPSequipments.
GPS satellitesignalscannot pass throughsolidmaterials(exceptglass).
When you areinside atunnelorbuilding,GPS positioningisnot
available.
Aminimumof4GPS satellitesignalsisneededtodeterminecurrent
GPS position.Signalreceptioncanbe affectedbysituationssuchasbad
weather ordenseoverhead obstacles(e.g.treesandtall buildings).
The wireless devicesmightinterferethe reception ofsatellitesignalsand
causethe reception ofthesignaltobe unstable.Forbettersignal
reception,itisrecommendedthat you useacar antenna (option).
Acarholder isneeded when using the deviceinacar.Itis
recommended thatyouplacethedeviceinan appropriateplace,soas
nottoobstructthe driver sview, ordeploymentofairbags.

PartI. BasicOperations
PartIguidesyouthroughthe processofgettingyour devicerunning,familiarizes
youwiththeexternalcomponents,andtellsyouhowtocustomizesystemsettings

1. GettingStarted
Thischaptertellsyou stepbystephowtoperformtheinitialstartup and
introducesyou totheexternalcomponentsof your device.
1.1Setting theON/OFF Switch
TheON/OFFswitchshouldbe settotheONpositionfor normaloperation.Pull
outthestyluspenanduseittoslidetheON/OFF switchtothe ON(left)position.
CAUTION:AlwaysleavetheON/OFFswitchintheONposition for normal
operation.

1.2Connecting toACPowerand Charging theBattery
Fullychargethebatterybefore using yourdeviceforthe firsttime.
1.Slide andclick theconnectorconverterontothe ACadapter.
2.Connecttheadaptercabletothe bottomof yourdevice.
3.Plugthe ACadapterintoawall outlet.

Thechargeindicatorglowsamberwhenchargingisinprogress.Donot
disconnectyour devicefromACpower until thebatteryisfullycharged,when
the chargeindicatorturnsgreen.Thiswilltakeacoupleof hours.
1.3UsingYourDevice inaVehicle
Acar holder and acar chargerare supplied withyour device.
UsingtheCarHolder
CAUTION:
1.Selectanappropriatelocationforthecarholder.Never placethe holder
where thedriversfieldof vision isblocked.
2.Ifthecar swindshieldistinted withareflectivecoating,an externalantenna
(optional)maybe needed toroutethe antennatothe topofthe car through
awindow.Whenclosing thecar window, be carefulnottopinchtheantenna
cable.(Carswithananti-jamwindowdesignmayautomaticallyleave
adequatespaceasneeded.)
Thecar holder consistsofabracketand adashboardstand.Usethecar holder to
mountyourdeviceinavehicle.
ConnectingtheCarCharger
Thecar charger suppliespowertoyour devicewhen youareusingthedeviceina
car.
CAUTION:Toprotectyour deviceagainstsuddensurgesincurrent,
connectthe carchargeronlyafter the car engine hasbeen
started.
1.Connect one endofthecar charger tothe powerconnector ofyour device.
2.Connect theotherendtothecigarettelighterinthecar topowerand charge
yourdevice.

2.1TurningOnandOff YourDevice
Usethe powerbutton onthe frontof your devicetoturnon andoffyour
device.
Whenyouturnon thedeviceforthefirsttime,theMainscreen appearsasshown
below.Thereare sixbuttonsonthe Mainscreen:Navigation,Photo, MP3,Video,
Calculator and Setup.Eachbuttonrepresentsafunction orfeature.Tousea
function,justtapthe corresponding button.(For more information,refertothe
followingchapters.)
Whenyou pressthepowerbutton toturn off the unit,yourdeviceactuallyentersa
suspendstateand thesystemstopsoperating.Onceyou turn onthesystem
again,itresumes.
2.2OperatingYourDevice

activatetheselecteditem,pressthe
center of
the button.
StylusPen
Thestyluspenisyourinputdevice. Youuseit toselectobjectssuchascommand
andoptiononthescreen.
Pull thestyluspen out ofthe slot andextendit for easeof use.Store itintheslot
whennotinuse.
Youcan usethe styluspen todothefollowingactions:

Touchthe screenoncewiththestyluspen toopen itemsorselectoptions.
®Drag
Holdthestyluspenonthe screenanddragup/down/left/rightor acrossthe
screen.
®Tapandhold
Tapandholdthe stylusuntilanactioniscomplete,or aresultor menuisshown.

3.System Settings
Yourdeviceissupplied withdefaultsettings. You mayalsocustomizethesettings
tosuityourpersonalneeds.Onceyou change settings,your newsettingswill
remainuntil eitheryouchangethemagain,oruntil batterycutoffswitchisturned
offandthenback onagain, whichresetstheunittofactorydefaults.
3.1Using SystemSettings
TaptheSetupbuttonontheMainscreen.
TheSetupscreen containssixbuttonsasshownbelow.The following sections
describethesesixbuttonsand theirfunctions.
3.2Brightness
1.Tap Setup on the Mainscreen.
2.Tap theBrightnessbutton onthe Setupscreen.

3.Afteryou havemade changes,pressthemarkbuttontosavethe changes
andexitthe screen.
Adjusting theBrightness
Tapthebulbbuttontoadjust.
Todarkenthescreen,tapthe left bulbbutton.
Tolighten thescreen, taptherightbulbbutton.
Setting theIdleTime
Youcan set atimer when it isidleforaset period oftime.

Tapthe IdleTimeboxandselect thetime.Theoptionsare1minute, 2minutes,5
minutes, never.
3.3Calibration
Youcancalibratethetouchscreen ifitisnot respondingaccuratelytoyourstylus
pentaps.
1.Tap Setup on the Mainscreen.
2.Tap theCalibration button on the Settingsscreen.
3.Tap andholdthe centerof thetarget.

4.When the targetmovestoanother position,tapandholdatthecenter ofthe
newtarget.Repeateachtimetocompletethe calibrationprocess.
5.Whencompleted, tapanywhereonthescreen.
3.4Power
Tocheck theremaining powerlevelofyourbattery:
1.Pressthe Settingsbutton onyour deviceortapSettingsontheMainscreen.
2.TapthePowerStatusbutton on theSettingsscreen.
3.The PowerStatusscreen willappear showing theremaining power ofyour
battery.
NOTE: Ifthelevelof power istoo low,besuretocharge thebatterywiththe AC
adapteror thecarcharger.
3.5Clock
Tosetthe clock:

1.Tap Settingson theMainscreen.
2.Tap theClockbutton on the Setup screen.
3.Tap theTimeZone boxtoselectyour timezone.
4.Tap theDateboxtosetthedate.
Acalendar willpop up showingday,monthand year.Tapthe left arrowtogo
totheearlier monthandyear ortap therightarrow toselectthe latermonth
and year.

You can alsotap themonthandyear ontopofthe calendar tochangethe
monthand year.Then tap thedateon thecalendar.

5.Before settingthetime,you cantickthe24-hourformatboxtouse24-hour
format.Then tap theitem(Hour/Minute/Second) you want toset..

Tosetthe Language:
1.Tap Settingson theMainscreen.
2.Tap theLanguagebuttononthe Setup screen.
