Introduction
A qualified engineer must connect refrigerator in
accordance with these installation instructions.
Measuredooropeninganddepthand width of refrigerator.
Removehandlesordoorsasrequired. Engineermust
followlocalelectricalcompanyconnectionregulations.
Service to or replacement of power cord must be
performed by a qualified servicer.
Recognize this symbol as a safety precaution.
Installation Requirements
1. Install on an earthed outlet with a separate 230 volt,
50 hertz., 10A circuit.
2. Protect soft flooring with cardboard or rugs.
3. Install on a floor which supports up to 363 kilograms.
4. Provide 25 millimeter clearance on top and 5 millime-
teronsides of refrigerator.
Removing Wooden Base
CAUTION
!
Toavoid personal injury or property damage,two
peoplemustremovewoodenbase.
1. Tape doors on top right and left corners to prevent
doorsfromopeningunexpectedly.
2. Slideappliancecart under side of refrigeratoropposite
hinges.
3. Wrap refrigerator with blanket or pad. Thread strap
aroundrefrigerator. Putfoam shipping pads,located
in shipping carton, under strap. Tighten strap se-
curely.
4. Lower appliance cart to floor with appliance cart
handlesonbottom.
5. Remove top two bolts from skid.
6. Returnrefrigerator and appliance carttoanupright
position. Removestrap.
7. Slideappliancecartunderoppositeside of refrigera-
tor.
8. Repeatsteps3-5.
9. Removewoodenbase.
10. Returnrefrigerator andappliancecarttoanupright
position and remove appliance cart.
Important
Donotleaverefrigeratoronitssidelongerthannecessary
toremovebolts.

1. Remove door handle screw caps by lifting ends.
2. Removedoorhandlesbyremovingscrews.
3. Replacedoorhandlesby reversing steps 1-2.
Removing Doors
CAUTION
!

1. Tapedoorsshuttoprevent doors from opening
unexpectedly.
2. Remove top hinge cover by lifting back and
slidingforward.
3. Remove top hinge by removing screws.
4. Removetapefromfreezerdoor.
5. Removefreezerdoorby lifting while opening.
6. Removecenterhingepin.
7. RemovetapefromFresh Fooddoor.
8. Remove Fresh Food door by lifting while
opening.
9. Removecenterhingebracketbyremoving
screws.
10. Remove toe grillebypullingforward.
11. Remove bottom hinge cover by prying cover
awayfromhingebracket.
12. Remove bottom hingebyremovingscrews.
13. Rehangdoorsbyreversingsteps1-12.

Reversing Doors
1. Completesteps1-2in"RemovingHandles"
section and steps 1-12 in "Removing Doors"
section.
2. Remove cover on handlenameplateby lifting
end. Bendtabsbehindnameplateupand
removenameplate. Rotatenameplateonehalf
turn. Replace nameplate and cover.
3. Remove plastic plugs from side of doors. Insert
in opposite side.
4. PlacedoorhandlesonFreshFoodandfreezerdoors.
FreshFoodhandlebecomesfreezerhandleand
freezerhandle becomes FreshFood handle. Insert
screwsand tighten.
5. Replacedoorhandlescrew caps by snapping in.
6. Remove door stops from side of doors by removing
screws. Replace door stops on opposite side.
7. Placebottomhingeand spacer(s) on opposite
side of refrigerator cabinet. Insert screws and
tighten.
Important:
Spacer ring(s) can be moved to properly adjust doors.
8. Move bottom hinge pin to opposite hex hole.
Placespacer ring(s) on hinge pin.
9. Remove plastic plugs from side of refrigerator
cabinet. Insert in opposite side.
10. Turn over centerhingebracketandspacer(s).
Place bracket and spacer(s) on opposite side of
refrigerator cabinet. Insert screws and tighten.
11. RehangFresh Food doorby positioningbottom
socket onto bottom hinge pin.
12. Tape Fresh Food door on top right and left
corners.
13. Place center hingepinandspacerring(s)on
center hinge bracket. Pin must fit through
bracket and into Fresh Food door socket.
14. Rehangfreezerdoorbypositioningbottom
socket onto center hinge pin.
15. Tape freezer door shut on top right and left
corners.
16. Remove plastic plugs from top of refrigerator
cabinet. Insert in opposite side.
17. Place top hinge and spacer(s) on opposite side
of refrigerator cabinet. Insert screws and tighten.
18. Replace top hingecoverbysnapping on.
19. Replace bottom hingecoverbysnappingon.
20. Replace toe grille by inserting clips in holes and
snapping in. Top of toe grille is indicated on
back of toe grille.
Leveling Refrigerator
1. Remove toe grille by pulling forward.
2. Remove bottom hinge cover by prying cover away
fromhingebracket.
3. Turn leveling screw clockwise to raise refrigerator
orcounterclockwisetolowerrefrigerator.
4. Open and close both doors completely.
Important:
If refrigerator cannot be level due to flooring, use
shimsunderroller(s)to level refrigerator.
5. Turn leveling screws clockwise equally on both
side until front of refrigerator is 6.4 millimeters
higherthanback.
6. Turn stabilizing leg until firmly in place againstfloor.
7. Replacebottomhingecover by snapping on.
8. Replace toe grille by inserting clips in holes and
snapping in. Top of toe grille is indicated on back
of toe grille.

Fresh Food Shelves
CAUTION
!
Toavoid personal injury or propertydamage,handle
tempered glass shelves carefully.Shelves may break
suddenly if nicked, scratched or exposed to sudden
temperaturechange.
1. Remove shelves by lifting front and releasing
hooks from metal track.
2. Replace shelves by inserting hooks into metal
trackandloweringfront.
Deli System
Locate control, if applicable, on front trim to adjust
amountofaircirculatingbetweendrawerandsleeve.
1. Remove drawer and sleeve, if applicable, by lifting
and pulling out. Refer to "Fresh Food Shelves" for
instructionsonremoving and replacing shelf. Use
only top three slots.
2. Replacesleeve,if applicable, then drawer by
slidingin.
When moving controlled deli system left or right, move
control, located on center back wall of refrigerator, to
same side.

Garden Fresh Crispers
Locate control, if applicable, on front trim to adjust to
eitherhighor low settings.
Remove garden fresh crispers and shelf by observing the
followingsteps:
1. Openleft*gardenfreshcrisper.
*Fordoorshingedonleft,openrightgarden
freshcrisper.
2. Remove shelf by gently pushing up from
underneathandtiltingoneendup.
3. Remove left* garden fresh crisper by lifting
frontwhilesupportingunderneath.
* Fordoorshingedon left, remove garden fresh crisper
onright.
4. Remove support post at recess in bottom center
ofFresh Foodsection.
5. Removeothergardenfresh crisper by sliding
crisper to opposite wall. Follow step 3.
6. Replacegardenfresh crispers and shelf by
reversingsteps1-5.
Dairy Center
1. Removedairy center by opening door,pushing
tabstoward center and pulling out.
2. Replace dairy center by sliding in until tabs lock
in place.
Door Buckets
1. Removedoorbuckets by pushing tabs toward
centerandpullingout.
2. Replace door buckets by sliding in until tabs lock
intoplace.
Door Shelves
1. Remove door shelves by lifting and pulling out.
2. Replace door shelves by reversing step 1.
Freezer Shelves
Refer to "Fresh Food Shelves" for instructions on
removingandreplacinghalf width shelves.
1. Remove full width shelf by tilting one end up
andpullingforward.
2. Replace full width shelf by reversing step 1.
Setting Controls
This refrigerator operates most efficiently in normal
householdtemperaturesof12°to43°C.
Fresh Food or Freezer Controls
Locate Fresh Food and freezer controls at center
dividerbetweenFresh Foodandfreezersections.
When freezer control is set to off , neither Fresh Food
nor freezer sections will cool. Initially, set both
controls to 4 . Wait 24 hours for Fresh Food and freezer
sections to reach desired temperatures. After 24
hours, adjust controls as desired. 1 is warmest setting
and 7 is coldest.
Settemperaturespreciselyusing a household
thermometerthatincludestemperaturesbetween -
20.5°to10°C.
Putthermometersnugly between frozen packages in
freezer section. Wait 5-8 hours. If freezer temperature
is not -18° to -17°C, adjust control, one number at a
time. Check again after 5-8 hours.
Put thermometer in a glass of water in middle of Fresh
Food section. Wait 5-8 hours. If Fresh Food
temperature is not 3° to 4°C, adjust control, one
number at a time. Check again after 5-8 hours.
Exterior Moisture Control
Inhumidconditions,refrigeratorsformcondensation
arounddoors. Humidityissubjective depending on
location of refrigerator. Set control to on if refrigerator
is in a humid area. Set control to off if refrigerator is in
a less humid area. Setting can be adjusted as
conditionschange. Specialheatersinrefrigerator
cabinetminimizecondensation.
Important
High quality steel is used in this refrigerator. However,
constantexposureto moisture may cause refrigerator
cabinet to rust. Set control to on anytime
condensationformsonrefrigeratorcabinet.

Care and Cleaning
WARNING
!
To avoid electrical shock which can cause severe
personalinjuryordeath, disconnect power to
refrigeratorbeforecleaning. Aftercleaning,reconnect
power.
CAUTION
!
Toavoidpersonalinjury or propertydamage,readand
followallcleaningproductmanufacturer'sdirections.
General
1. Wash surfaces with four tablespoons baking
sodadilutedinonequartwarm waterasneeded.
Rinseand dry surfacesthoroughly.
2. Do not use the following items:
• abrasivecleanerssuch as ammonia, chlorine
bleach,etc.
• solvents
• metalscouringpads
These items can scratch, crack and discolor
surfaces.
Glass Shelves
CAUTION
!
Toavoid personal injury or propertydamage,handle
tempered glass shelves carefully.Shelves may break
suddenly if nicked, scratched or exposed to sudden
temperaturechange.
Remove glass shelf and place on a towel. Allow shelf to
adjusttoroomtemperaturebeforecleaning.
Light Bulbs
WARNING
!
To avoid electrical shock which can cause severe
personalinjuryordeath, disconnect power to
refrigeratorbefore replacing light bulb. Afterreplacing
lightbulb,reconnectpower.
CAUTION
!
Toavoidpersonalinjury or property damage,observe
thefollowing:
1. Allow bulb to cool.
2. Wear gloves when replacing light bulb.
Remove light bulb cover. Replace light bulb with same
size and type of appliance bulb.
Door Gaskets
1. Clean door gaskets every three months or
accordingto"General"cleaning instructions.
2. Rinseanddry gasketsthoroughly.
3. Apply a light film of petroleum jelly to keep door
gaskets pliable.
Condenser Coil
Cleancondenser coil every three months. Accumulated
dust and lint may cause the following:
• reducedcoolingperformance
• increasedenergyusage
• prematurepartfailure
1. Removetoegrillebypullingforward.
2. Clean coil with a vacuum cleaner hose nozzle.
3. Install toe grille by positioning top and snapping in
bottom. Top is indicated on back of toe grille.
4. Pullrefrigerator away from wall. Run a vacuum
brush across condenser fan outlet grille on back
ofrefrigerator.

Vacation Tips
For short vacations, remove perishable foods. If an ice
maker is installed, move ice maker arm to off position.
Forlong vacations, do the following:
1. Removefoodfromrefrigerator.
2. Unplugrefrigerator.
3. Cleanrefrigerator.
4. Cleandoorgaskets.
5. Prop doors open, so air can circulate inside.
6. Turn off water supply to refrigerator if an ice maker is
installed and move ice maker arm to off position.
CAUTION
!
To avoid property damage, turn off water supply to
refrigerator and move ice maker arm to off position
beforeleavingonvacation.
Normal Operating Sounds
Thisnewrefrigeratormay be replacing a differently
designed, less efficient or smaller refrigerator. Today’s
refrigeratorshavenewfeaturesandaremoreenergy
efficient. As a result, certain sounds may be unfamiliar.
Thesesoundsarenormal and will soon become familiar.
Thesesoundsalsoindicaterefrigeratorisoperating and
performingasdesigned.
Before Calling For Service
Refrigerator does not operate.
• Confirm freezer control is on.
• Confirmelectricalpowercord is plugged in.
• Check fuse or circuit breaker. Plug in another item
at that wall outlet.
• Wait 40 minutes to see if refrigerator restarts. If
freezer control is on and lights work but twofans
andcompressorarenotoperating,refrigeratormay
be in defrost cycle.
Refrigeratorstillwon’toperate.
• Unplugrefrigerator. Transferfood to another unit
or place dry ice in freezer section to preserve
fooduntilrefrigeratorcanbeserviced.
Foodtemperatureappearstoowarm.
• See above sections.
• Allow adequate time for food to reach Fresh Food
or freezer temperature if a large supply of food was
recentlyadded.
• Cleancondensercoil.
• AdjustFresh Foodand/orfreezercontrol.
Controlled deli system is too warm.
• Slide control to a colder setting.
• Adjust freezer control to a colder setting.
Food temperature is too cold.
• Cleancondensercoil.
• Adjust Fresh Food control.
• Allow several hours for temperature to adjust.
Refrigerator runs too frequently.
• It may be normal to maintain an even
temperature.
• Doorsmayhavebeen opened frequently or for an
extendedperiodoftime.
• Cleancondensercoil.
• Adjust freezer control.
• Check gasket for proper seal.
Waterdropletsform on inside of refrigerator.
• This is normal during periods of high humidity
orif doors havebeenopened frequently.
Waterdropletsformonoutsideofrefrigerator.
• Check door gaskets for proper seal.
• Turn exterior moisture control switch on.
Garden fresh crispers or controlled deli system does not
close freely.
• Checkfor a package which may prevent drawers
fromclosingproperly.
• Confirmdrawersareinproperposition.
• Cleandrawerchannelswithwarm,soapywater.
Rinseanddrythoroughly.
• Apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly to drawer
channels.
• Confirmrefrigeratorislevel.
Refrigerator has anodor.
• CleaninsideofFreshFood and freezer
sections.
• Cover all foods tightly and use freezer wrap.
Refrigeratormakesunfamiliarsounds or seems too loud.
