Controls
Thisrefrigerator operates most efficientlyinnormal
householdtemperatures of 13°Cto 43°C.
Fresh Food and Deepfreeze®Controls
FreshFood control is located on upper rear wall ofFresh
Foodsection.
Deepfreeze®controlislocatedon right front ceiling of
Deepfreeze®section.
When Deepfreeze®control is set " ", neither Fresh Food
nor Deepfreeze®sections will cool. Initially, set both
controls to 4 . Wait 24 hours for Fresh Food and
Deepfreeze®sectionstoreachdesired temperatures.
After 24 hours, adjust controls, one number at a time, as
desired. 1 is warmest setting and 7 is coldest.
Setting Controls
Setcontrolspreciselyusingahouseholdthermometer
thatincludes temperatures between -21°C to10°C.
Putthermometer snugly between frozen packages in
Deepfreeze®section.Wait5-8hours. If Deepfreeze®
temperatureisnot-17°Cto-16°C,adjustcontrol,one
number at a time. Check again after 5-8 hours.
Put thermometer in a glass of water in middle of Fresh
Foodsection.Wait5-8hours.IfFreshFoodtemperature
is not 3°C to 4°C, adjust control, one number at a time.
Checkagain after 5-8 hours.

Humidity Controlled Crisper Drawer
Theright drawer is humidity controlled. This drawerkeeps
produce freshlonger. Wrapproduce tightly. Do notwash
producebefore placing in drawer.Excess moisture could
causeproduceto spoil prematurely. Do not line drawer
withpaper towels. Paper towels will retain moisture.
Humidity control is located below front shelf trim. Control
adjusts humidity in drawer. Slide control to right for
produce with leaves such as lettuce, spinach or cabbage.
Slide control to left for produce with skins such as
cauliflower,corn or tomatoes.
Temperature Controlled Drawer
Theleft drawer istemperature controlled. Thisdrawer
keepsfoodfresh longer and up to 3°C colder than Fresh
Foodtemperature. Use this drawer for deli storageor
additionalproduce storage.
Temperature control is located below front shelf trim.
Controladjusts amount of aircirculatingaround drawer.
Slidecontrol to left for normal Fresh Food temperature
and to right for colder temperature. Ice crystals may form
on drawer or food on coldest setting. Cold air can
decreaseFresh Food temperature. FreshFoodcontrol
may need to be adjusted.
Removeshelf and drawersby completing thefollowing
steps.
1. Openleft*drawer. *For doorshingedon left, open
rightdrawer.
Caution

2. Removeshelfbygently pushing up fromunderneath.

4. Remove support post at recess in bottom center of
Fresh Food section by lifting.
5. Removeother crisper by sliding to opposite wall. Lift
frontwhile supporting underneath thenpullout.
6. Replacedrawers andshelfby reversing steps 1-5.
Crisper Tote™
CrisperTote™provideseasyaccess and protection for
small produce such as cherry tomatoes, lemons,
mushrooms, etc. in the humidity controlled crisper drawer.

Covered Storage Bucket
Storagebucket has a lid and removable egg tray. When
tray is removed, bucket will accept items such as a
standard egg carton, ice, etc.
Dairy Centers
Dairycenters provide convenient storageforitems such
as butter, cheese, etc.
• Removedairy centers by lifting door,pushing tabs
towardcenter and pulling out.
• Replace dairy centers by sliding in until tabs lock into
placeand loweringdoor.
Door Buckets
Doorbucketsadjust to meet individual storage needs.
• Removedoor buckets by pushing tabs towardcenter
andpulling out.
• Replace door buckets by sliding in until tabs lock
into place.
Door Shelf
• Removedoor shelf by lifting ends and pullingout.
• Replacedoorshelf by placing shelf on glides and
slidingdown.

• Remove ice service rack by lifting rack off plastic
washersthen pulling out.
• Replace ice service rack by placing rack on washer

• RemoveDeepfreeze®shelf by pulling out. A sharp tug
may be necessary.
• Replace Deepfreeze®shelf by sliding in until back
locks in place.
Wire Basket
Wire basket slides out for easy access of items in back.
• Removewire basket by lifting and pulling out.
• Replace wire basket by sliding in.
Wire Divider
Wiredivider organizes storage space.Dividercan be
movedleft or right.
Pivot Bin™
PivotBin™providesconvenient storage forfrozen food

Care and Cleaning

General
1. Wash surfaces with 4 tablespoons baking soda
dissolved in 1 liter warm water and a soft, clean cloth.
2. Rinsesurfaces with warm water. Dry surfaces with a
soft, clean cloth.
• Do not use the following items:
- abrasiveor harsh cleaners,ammonia,chlorine
bleach, etc.
- concentrateddetergents or solvents
- metalscouringpads
These items can scratch, crack and discolor
surfaces.
• Do not place buckets, shelves, etc. in dishwasher.
Odor Removal
1. Removeallfood.
2. Cleanall interiorsurfacesincludingceiling, floor, and
walls according to “General” instructions. Pay special
attentionto corners, crevices, and grooves. Include all
drawers,shelves, and gaskets.
3. Wash and dry all bottles, containers and jars before
returning foodto refrigerator. Wrapfoods intightly
sealedcontainers to preventfurtherodor. After24
hours, check if odor was eliminated.
Completethefollowing steps if odor was not eliminated.
4. Completesteps 1-2.
5. Placegarden fresh crispers on top shelf of Fresh
Foodsection.Pack Fresh Food and Deepfreeze®
sections including doors with crumpled sheets of
blackand white newspaper.
6. Placecharcoalbriquettesrandomly throughout
newspaper.
7. Closedoors and let stand 24-48 hours.
8. Removecharcoalbriquettes and newspapers.
9. Completesteps 2-3.

Adhesives
1. Removeglueresidueby rubbing toothpaste into
adhesivewith fingers untiladhesive loosens.
2. Rinsesurface with warm water.Dry surface with a
soft, clean cloth.
Door Gaskets
1. Cleandoor gaskets every 3 monthsaccordingto
“General”instructions.
2. Apply a light film of petroleum jelly to keep gaskets
pliable.
Condenser Coils
Cleancondensercoil every 3 months to ensure maximum
performanceof refrigerator. Accumulateddustand lint
maycausethefollowing:
• reducedcoolingperformance
• increasedenergy usage
• prematurepartfailure
1. Removetoegrilleby holding ends andpulling forward.
2. Cleanfront surfaceofcondenser coil with a vacuum
cleanerhose nozzle.
3. Replace toe grille by inserting clips in holes and
snappingin.
Glass Shelves
Caution
Toavoid personalinjuryor property damage,
handletempered glass shelvescarefully.
Shelvesmaybreaksuddenlyifnicked,
scratched,or exposed to sudden temperature
change.
Removeshelf by lifting front, releasing hooks frommetal
track then pulling out. Place shelf on a towel. Allow shelf
toadjust to room temperature before cleaning.
Cleancrevices by completing the following steps:
1. Dilutemild detergentandbrush solution into crevices
using a plastic bristle brush. Let set for 5 minutes.
2. Spraywarm water into crevices usingfaucetspray
attachment.
3. Dryshelf thoroughly andreplaceshelfby inserting
hooks into metal track and lowering front.

4. Prop doors open, so air can circulate inside.

Normal Operating Sounds
Thisnew refrigerator maybe replacing adifferently
designed,less efficientor smaller refrigerator.Today’s
refrigeratorshave newfeatures andare moreenergy
efficient. As a result, certain sounds may be unfamiliar.
Thesesounds are normal and will soon becomefamiliar.
Thesesounds also indicate refrigeratorisoperating and
performingas designed.
•Deepfreeze®control clicks when starting or
stoppingcompressor.
•Deepfreeze®fan air rushes and whirs.
•Sealed system(evaporatorandheatexchanger)
refrigerantflow gurgles, pops or soundslikeboiling
water.
•Defrost heater sizzles, hisses or pops.
•Condenser fan air rushes and whirs.
•Compressorhas a high pitched hum orpulsating
sound.
•Ice cubes from ice maker (some models) drop into
ice bucket.
•Ice maker water valve hookup (some models)
buzzes when ice maker fills with water. This occurs
whetheror not refrigerator is connectedtowater
supply. If refrigerator is not connected to water supply,
stop sound by raising ice maker arm to off position.
• Foaminsulation is very energy efficient and has
excellentinsulating capabilities. However, foam
insulation is not as sound absorbent as
previouslyused fiberglass insulation.

Before Calling For Service
