SuperSize Capacity
Amana®

When shopping for and selecting laundry appliances, this consumer:
Amana®
• Wants something simple and straightforward to save her time, make her life easier and cut down on her workload.
• Wants quality appliances that can handle large capacities and frequent, heavy usage.
• Has a practical mindset. She is not interested in appliances with advanced technological features that may add to the purchase price
or complexity.
• Is looking for a good value. She wants a brand with a good reputation that will save her money while being durable and reliable.
• Is less involved. She doesn’t spend a lot of time shopping or researching for a new appliance. Most of her research takes place in
the store environment.
• Traditionally buys appliances to replace, not upgrade. Almost 2/3 of this target bought to replace a broken appliance.
Maytag®
• Is willing to pay for quality, but wants proof. She looks for benefits rather than redundant features and rejects the “bells and
whistles” that just add cost and breakdown potential.
• Puts a lot of time into researching appliances and will shop around to find the right product at the right price.
• Avoids complexity, particularly in laundry. She cares about the end product — clean clothes — but doesn’t want to think about
the process.

Automatic Fabric
Softener Dispenser
•Dispenser automatically adds fabric softener to the wash at
just the right time during the rinse cycle. The softener
dispenser is located in the top of the agitator. During the
spin cycle, centrifugal motion dispenses the softener down the
center of the agitator so it mixes with the rinse water in the
bottom of the tub before it comes in contact with laundry.

just the right time so
consumers don’t have to.

of fabric softener spots
on clothes that can result
when softener is added

the inner and outer tubs, not directly into the wash basket, so
it is diluted before it comes into contact with clothes. The

motion created by the inner tub which spins during the
draining process. Competitors actually filter dirty water
through clothes during drain.

of the Swirl-Away drain
removes water, soap,
residue, sand, soil and lint
