Getting
Started
Before
First
Time
Use
Prior
to
using
your
Combo
Chef,
please
read
all
safety
and
operating
instructions
thoroughly.
Please
ensure
you
follow
the
steps
below
before
using
this
appliance.
We
recommend
you
keep
the
original
packaging
for
storing
your
Combo
Chef
when
not
in
use.
1.
Unpack
the
product
but
keep
all
packaging
material
until
you
have
made
sure
your
new
Combo
Chef
is
undamaged
and
in
good
working
order.
Plastic
wrapping
can
be
a
suffocation
hazard
for
babies
and
children
so
ensure
all
packaging
materials
are
out
of
their
reach.
2.
Remove
the
twist
-tie
which
is
securing
the
electrical
cord.
Uncoil
the
cord
and
straighten
it
to
remove
any
kinks.
Do
not
use
the
product if
these
parts
are
damaged.
In
case
of
damage,
phone
the
After
Sales
Support
line
on
1300

further
advice.
3.
Wipe
the
exterior housing
and
inner
surface
of
the
Combo
Chef
with
a
soft,
damp
cloth
and
then
dry
thoroughly.
Do
not
immerse
it
in
water
or
other
liquids.
4.
Place
the
Combo
Chef
on
a
flat,
dry,
stable
and
heat
resistant
surface.
5.
The
Combo
Chef
should
be
operated
once
without
food
before
use.
This
is
to
burn
away
any
excess
lubricant
off
the
non-stick
pan
and
hotplate.
6.
Close
the
lid
and
lock
the
handle.
Plug
the
cord
into
a
power
outlet
and
switch
on
the
outlet.
Turn
the
temperature
dial
to
5
and
the
timer
dial
to
5
minutes.
Both
the
power
and
heating
indicator
lights
will
illuminate,
indicating
the
Combo
Chef
is
on
and
is
in
the
process
of
heating
up.
7.
Once
the
5
minutes
has
elapsed,
the
ready
bell
will
sound,
and
the
Combo
Chef
will
turn
off,
stop
heating
and
start
cooling
down.
Turn
the
temperature
dial
to
'0',
switch
off
and
unplug
from
the
power
outlet.
8.
Allow
for
the
Combo
Chef
to
cool
down
completely.
Once
the
Combo
Chef
has
cooled
down,
wipe
the
pan
and
hotplate
clean
with
a
soft
damp
cloth.
WARNING:
Do
not
immerse
the
Combo
Chef
or
power
cord
in
water.
NOTE:
You
may
notice
a
slight
odour
being
emitted
from
the
Combo
Chef
during
the
initial
use.
This
is
normal
and
the
odour
will
cease
with
continued
use.

How
to
Lock/Unlock
the
Handle
There
is
a
safety
lock
located
on
the
handle.
Please
see
the
instructions
below
on
how
to
lock
and
unlock
the
handle
for
the
safe
use
of
the
Combo
Chef.
1.
Place
the
Combo
Chef
on
a
flat,
dry
and
heat
resistant
surface,
so
that
the
timer
and
temperature
dials
are
facing
towards
you.
2.
To
unlock
the
handle,
slide
the
latch
across
to
the
right
(towards
you).
You
should
now
be
able
to
open
the
Combo
Chef
(Fig
1).
3.
To
lock
the
handle,
ensure
the
Combo
Chef
is
closed,
then
slide
the
latch
across
to
the
left
(away
from
you)
until
it
is
securely
in
place.
The
Combo
Chef
should
now
be
locked
(Fig
2).
NOTE:
It
is
recommended
to
wear
oven
mitts
when
unlocking
and
locking
the
handle.
Timer
Dial
The
timer
can
be
set
for
up
to
30
minutes.
When
the
timer
is
set,
the
power
indicator
light
will
illuminate.
Once
the
timer
has
finished
counting
down,
heating
will
automatically
cease.
The
power
indicator
light
will
turn
off
and
the
ready
bell
will
ring
to
indicate
the
timer
has
elapsed.
IMPORTANT:
Both
the
timer
and
temperature
dials
must
be
set
for
the
Combo
Chef
to
operate.
If
only
the
timer
dial
is
set,
the
Combo
Chef
will
not
heat
up.
Temperature
Dial
Select
the
desired
temperature
setting,
from
1
to
5.
Refer
to
the
table
on
page
11,
for
the
temperature
settings.
The
pan
and
hotplate
will
only
begin
to
heat
once
both
the
time
and
temperature
dials
have
been
set.
The
power
indicator
light
and
heating
indicator
light
will
both
illuminate,
indicating
that
the
Combo
Chef
is
on
and
is
in
the
process
of
heating
up.
Once
the
temperature
has
been
reached,
the
heating
indicator
light
will
turn
off,
indicating
the
Combo
Chef
is
ready
for
use.

Function
The
thermostat
regulates
the
temperature
to
prevent
the
Combo
Chef
from
overheating.
Please
note
that
this
will
cause
the
heating
indicator
light
to
cycle
on
and
off;
this
is
not
a
product
fault
and
is
part
of
the
operation
of
the
Combo
Chef.
When
the
Combo
Chef
is
heating
up,
the
heating
indicator
light
will
illuminate.
Once
the
temperature
has
been
reached,
the
heating
indicator
light
will
turn
off.
While
the
heating
indicator
light
cycles
on
and
off,
the
power
indicator
light
will
remain
on.
Using
the
Combo
Chef
The
Combo
Chef
can
be
used
closed,
rotated,
or
open,
depending
on
the
recipe
and
type
of
food
being
cooked.
We
have
included
a
recipe
booklet
using
all

cooking
methods
to
help
get
you
started.
Using
the
Combo
Chef
Closed
Please
refer
to
the
below
steps
to
ensure
the
safe
use
of
the
Combo
Chef
when
closed.
1.
Place
the
Combo
Chef
on
a
flat,
dry,
heat
resistant
surface.
Plug
into
a
power
outlet
and
switch
on
the
outlet.
2.
Set
the
timer
and
temperature
dials
to
the
desired
time
and
temperature
settings
to
preheat
the
Combo
Chef.
The
power
and
heating
indicator
lights
will
illuminate,
indicating
the
Combo
Chef
is
on
and
is
in
the
process
of
heating
up
(Fig.
3).
Once
the
heating
indicator
light
turns
off,
the
Combo
Chef
has
reached
the
temperature
and
is
ready
for
use.

CAUTION:
When
adding
ingredients
to
the
pan,
the
combined
total
ingredients
should
never
exceed
the
MAX
indicator
line,
including
any
liquid
added.
NOTE:
The
Combo
Chef
has
been
designed
to
only
add
ingredients
to
the
pan
side
when
using
closed.

Cooking
time
will
vary
depending
on

Using
oven
mitts,
check
the
progress
of
the
food
by
unlocking
the
handle
and
lifting
the
lid.
If
the
food
requires
more
cooking
time,
close
the
lid,
lock

handle
and
adjust
the
timer
and
temperature
if
needed.
5.
Once
the
timer
has
elapsed,
the
ready
bell
will
sound,
and
the
Combo
Chef
will
turn
off,
stop
heating
and
start
cooling
down.
Turn
the
temperature
dial
to
'0',
switch
off
and
unplug
from
the
power
outlet.
NOTE:
When
finished
cooking
always
turn
the
timer
and
temperature
dials
to
'0',
switch
off
and
unplug
from
the
power
outlet.
6.
Using
oven
mitts,
unlock
the
handle
and
carefully
open
the
lid.
Using
non-metal,
heat
resistant
utensils,
remove
the
cooked
food
from
the
Combo
Chef.
NOTE:
Do
not
force
the
lid
to
close.
If
the
lid
does
not
close
you
may
have
too
much
filling
in
the pan.
Remove
some
filling
from
the
pan
so
the
lid
can
close.
WARNING:
The
Combo
Chef
will
get
very
hot
while
in
use.
Always
use
oven
mitts
when
opening
the
lid,
adding
ingredients,
or
removing
cooked
food
from
the
Combo
Chef.
CAUTION:
Never
leave
the
Combo
Chef
unattended
while
it
is
switched
on
or
still
hot.
This
is
very
dangerous.
WARNING:
Never
leave
the

Chef
unattended
and
in
a
location
where
children

unsupervised

the
Combo
Chef
The
Combo
Chef
features
twist
and
turn
technology.
The
hinged
base
allows
you
to
rotate
the
Combo
Chef
(closed)
for
more
even
cooking
which
is
perfect
for
cooking
omelettes,
quiches
and
cakes!
Rotating
the
Combo
Chef
during
the
cooking
process
helps
cook
the
food
evenly
on
both
sides.
Please
refer
to
the
below
steps
to
ensure
the
safe
use
of
the
Combo
Chef
when
rotating
during
the
cooking
process.
WARNING:
Always
check
if
the
recipe
is
suitable
for
rotating
during
the
cooking
process.
Recipes
that
are
very
saucy
such
as
casseroles,
curries
etc
should
never
be
rotated
during
the
cooking
process
as
the
hot
liquid
may
leak
out
the
sides
of
the
Combo
Chef.
NOTE:
When
rotating
during
the
cooking
process,
some
steam
may
escape
out
of
the
sides
of
the
Combo
Chef.
This
is
normal
and
not
a
product
fault.
Always

Chef.

Using
the
Combo
Chef
Open
(Dual
Cooking
Surface)
The
Combo
Chef
has
a
hinged
base
which
enables
the
appliance
to
open

(flat).
When
the
Combo
Chef
is
open,
you
can
choose
to
cook
using
either
the
pan,
hotplate
or
both
at
the
same
time.
Some
recipes
require
the
Combo
Chef
to
be
open
during
the
cooking
process.
Please
refer
to
the
below
steps
to
ensure
the
safe
use
of
the
Combo
Chef
when
it
is
open.
NOTE:
The
Combo
Chef
can
be
preheated
either
open
or
closed.
Refer
to
the
table
on
page
11
for
the
temperatures
of
the
Combo
Chef
closed
and
open.
1.
Place
the
Combo
Chef
on
a
flat,
dry,
heat
resistant
surface.
Plug
into
a
power outlet
and
switch
on
the
outlet.
2.
With
the
Combo
Chef
closed
(recommended),
set
the
timer
and
temperature
dials
to
the
desired
time
and
temperature
settings
to
preheat
the
Combo
Chef.
The
power
and
heating
indicator
sights
will
illuminate,
indicating
the
Combo
Chef
is
on
and
is
in
the
process
of
heating
up.
Once
the
heating
indicator
light
turns
off,
the
Combo
Chef
is
ready
to
use.
NOTE:
Preheating
with
the
Combo
Chef
closed
before
use
will
ensure
better
results.

Using
oven
mitts,
unlock
the
handle
and
carefully
open
the
Combo
Chef

resting
on

heat
resistant
surface

the
ingredients
to
the

the

Switch

the

the

it

cool
down
completely
before
cleaning.

Wipe
the
non-stick
pan
and
hotplate
with
a
paper
towel
or
soft,
damp
cloth.
3.
For
stubborn
foods
which
are
difficult
to
remove,
pour
a
little
cooking
oil
onto
the
non-stick
surfaces
and
heat
for
2
minutes.
Allow
for
it
to
cool
down
once
again
and
then
try
wiping
it
once
more
with
paper
towel
or
a
soft,
damp
cloth.
4.
Wipe
the
exterior
of
the
Combo
Chef
with
a
soft,
damp
cloth
and
dry
thoroughly.
Do
not
let
any
water
enter
the
appliance.

To
remove
stubborn
foods
from

exterior,

hand,
lift
the
bracket
(located
on

and
pull
the
bracket
towards
you,
until
it
locks
into
position
on
the
tabs
located
on
the
right
hand
side
of
the
Combo
Chef

bracket
should
now
be
vertically
upright
and
locked
into
position
(Fig.
10).
NOTE:
The
bracket
will
not
lock
into
place
on
the
tabs,
if
the
Combo
Chef

you

holding
the

Chef
in
the
vertical
position,
before
attempting

lock

downwards
