1. Introduction
APBDG0L031K0FA is a PC platform panel computer designed for use in rolling
stock. In following text the device will be referred only as ‘computer’.
Computer APBDG0L031K0FA contains the Master processor module with
Intel®Atom™processor (Master CPU hereinafter) and an Auxiliary processor
module with processor Cortex (Aux CPU hereinafter), which ensures the
supplementary terminal functions.
Panel computer is delivered without operating system. Application software is
written by user separately.

5. Power supply
Computer APBDG0L031K0FA can be powered only by DC power supply.
Power supply voltage is connected to terminals Vcc and GND of PWR
connector. Terminal SB is used for computer turning on and off, terminal PE for
connection of computer chassis.
Computer power supply (terminals Vcc, GND and SB) is galvanically separated
from internal electronics of the computer.
When installing, it is recommended to connect in single point of switchboard the
PE terminal with chassis of equipment, where the computer is installed.
The PE terminal is internally connected with computer casing and with metal
caps of all connectors.

5.2. Computer start up and shut down
Terminal Vcc is used for computer power supply. Unit is switched ON/ OFF
using the SB terminal. After connecting power supply voltage to SB terminal
(terminal Vcc must be attached to power supply) the unit’s power supply is
switched ON and the internal piezo-buzzer shortly beeps.
Then follows start of operating system and user application is launched.

In terms of data consistence, the unit's start-up is not critical and can be
realized either by coincident connecting of power supply voltage to Vcc and SB
terminals, or by connecting the voltage first to Vcc terminal and then to SB, or
vice versa. Nevertheless, when starting up, an incorrect progress is not
possible.

APBDG0L031K0FA

To prevent the data damage the computer must be shut down only by SB
terminal.
First, it’s necessary to disconnect the supply voltage from SB terminal, thereby
is initiated a correct process of systemic termination of application and
operating system run. Only after completion of operating system run and unit’s
shut down, the supply voltage can be disconnected from terminal Vcc, or
voltage can be left connected to Vcc terminal permanently.
Together with initiating of systemic switch-off, the function of dispatch processor
for unit’s shut down is activated. This shut down takes place after elapsing of 1
minute, independently on the immediate state of systemic switch-off. The time
adjusted for shut down by dispatch processor must be longer than time for
correct software shut down of operating system. If it is not true, data corruption
can occur.

6. Internal processor modules
6.1. Master processor module
APBDG0L031K0FA computer contains as Master CPU the MSC Q7-BT-15-
20B2I core.
Core is base on processor Intel®Atom™ E3815 Single-core.
For more details see the MSC Q7-BT module datasheet on manufacturer's
website (see Related documentation).
As module storage device is used the FLASH memory. Therefore, when
keeping the memory lifetime in mind it is recommended to minimize the number
of writing cycles.
6.2. Auxiliary processor module
Computer APBDG0L031K0FA contains an Auxiliary CPU with CORTEX
processor.
The Auxiliary CPU manages the internal sources of graphical terminal and
takes care of reliable start and run of Master CPU. The Auxiliary CPU also
provides the program watchdog functionality for Master CPU.
The Auxiliary CPU communicates with Master CPU by Auxiliary processor
commands. By using these commands it’s possible:
to read the data from computer’s light and temperature sensors,
to detect the FW version and revision of HW,
to operate the LCD display backlight,
and other.
For detail list of functions and their description see the Related documentation –
