Thank you for choosing another quality product from Amperes Electronics.
EP1200 is used for emergency paging, required as a highest priority source of announcement when the
situation warrants. Whenever it is activated, it shall override the incoming signal from mixer, thus allows only
emergency announcement to be made, either from the paging microphone or auto announcement voice
player or siren.
Extra feature available from EP1200 is the availability of a dry contact, which is activated whenever the unit
is triggered. This allows connected to volume controller for overriding purpose.
We believe that this product shall be able to meet your demanding requirement with affordable pricing and
uncompromised features and quality. Though it is rather simple in the installation works, a brief read through
the manual is recommended and we are confident that you are getting a product of excellence.
1. Built In Siren Tone Generator
The built in siren tone generator can be activated via the front panel test switch as well as remote triggering
switch. Its continuous 8 KHz tone shall be active for approximately 10 seconds when the switched is
pressed and shall cut off thereafter.
2. Visual FIRE Indicator
The front FIRE indicator shall lit when the siren is activated, or when the emergency paging microphone is
switched on. The bright flashing alert shall also lit when the remote siren port is triggered.
3. External Voice Message Activation
External voice recorder can be connected to EP1200, instead to preamplifier mixer to allow prioritized
message broadcast over the BGM or normal paging sources. The activation of this playback shall require a
voltage free triggering which is available at the rear of the unit.
4. Priority Front Panel Microphone Paging
The front panel microphone is accorded the highest priority in paging, thus bypassing any available input
sources. This is important that emergency broadcast is not interfered when this announcement is made.
5. Aux Dry Contact for ALL CALL / E/M 24V Overriding Signal
When paging microphone or the siren is activated, it shall trigger an internal relay which provide a dry
contact. This can be used to switch on ALL CALL feature of the speaker zone selector as well as sending a
24V emergency overriding signal to bypass volume controllers' attenuation. Proper configuration is required
to utilize this feature.

3. SIREN LED
Activation of Siren shall lit the LED.
4. FIRE INDICATOR
Whenever siren or external activation device is triggered, the FIRE indicator shall flash alongside with siren
audio broadcast.
5. HANDHELD PAGING MICROPHONE
Pressing the microphone switch shall have priority over other inputs such as Siren, External Message input as
well as normal paging or BGM feeds. This shall also activate a dry contact, which can be used to activate ALL
CALL at speaker zone selector and 24V DC E/M overriding signal.

6. 24V INPUT
The unit operates on 24V DC. It is preferred that the unit to be supplied directly from the uninterrupted
power source. ie. Back up batteries. Alternatively, connect it to a regulated power supply unit which is
in turned has back up supply.
7. MIC SWITCH TRIGGER CONTACT
Triggering the front panel mic switch shall activate an internal relay. This ports provide a dry contact
which can be used to connect E/M overriding signal or to activate ALL CALL at speaker zone selector.
The recommended rating for the contact is 3A. In case higher rating is required, please use external
relay or contactoer to accomodate the high current requirement.
8. REMOTE TRIGGER PORT FOR SIREN
External sensor device such as heat detector or fire alarm interface device can be connected to this
unit to activate the siren. The external device or switch must be voltage free to avoid damage to the
unit. Siren activation shall be approximately 10 seconds, afterwhich another contact is required to
broadcast the siren.
9. EXTERNAL MESSAGE TRIGGER PORT
External message player can be linked to it and can be broadcasted to the speakers when this port is
triggered. A voltage free contact is recommended to trigger the message playback.
10. MESSAGE INPUT LEVEL CONTROL
This is to adjust the incoming level of the message playback signal. It is recommended that the setting
is made during testing and commissioning works.
11. SIREN OUTPUT LEVEL
Adjust the siren output to an optimum level during testing and commissiong works.
12. EXTERNAL MESSAGE AUDIO INPUT
The external message playback signal shall be balanced line level.
13. PRE-AMPLIFIER INPUT JACK
Output from pre-amplifier mixer (balanced line level ) is connected to the unit which is normally closed
when the unit is not activated. Triggering the panel shall bypass the signal to allow higher priority
audio to the PA system.
14. AUDIO OUTPUT JACK
Connect the balanced output signal from EP1200 to power amplifier signal input.
