The PS3 is a power adapter designed to provide power to the Ampetronic range of
preamplifiers and accessories. The unit provides two regulated 15V DC supply
outputs at up to 9W total power on a 3-pin mini DIN plug, which is the Ampetronic
standard connector for auxiliary DC power.
1. Output Connection
Connect the PS3 to the input of the unit to be connected using the power cable
supplied.
Important:
Never plug the PS3 into the DC power output socket of any Ampetronic loop amplifier,
or both units could be damaged.
To meet EMC regulations, the maximum output cable length is 1 metre.
If the PS3 is used to power equipment via cables not supplied by Ampetronic, the
output connector is wired as in the diagram below. If the rated output current is
exceeded, the PS3 may not maintain regulation of the output voltage and/or may shut
down.
2. Power Input.
The unit should be plugged into a suitable AC power socket. Do not connect to an
unsuitable power supply. The AC power plug contains a 3A standard fuse (UK only).
Only replace this with a fuse of the same type and rating.
3. Internal Fuse
The unit has an internal fuse, see below for rating. To replace this fuse, unplug the AC
supply, unscrew the 3 cover screws and remove the cover. A TX10 torx screwdriver
will be required. The fuse holder is situated behind the mains connector. Only replace
with a fuse of the same rating and type. After replacing the fuse, replace and fasten
the cover before connecting to the AC power supply.
