Safety and Care Information
IMPORTANT! Self-installation instructions and tips are provided for your
Convenience. It is your responsibility to determine if you have the
knowledge, skills, and physical ability required to properly perform an
installation. AMTC shall have no liability for damage or injury resulting
from the installation or use of any product. AMTC product
warranties do not cover the installation, removal or reinstallation of any
product.
•Do not expose to extreme temperatures (above 140°F or below -4°F, or
above 60°C or below -20°C).
•Do not expose to moisture. Do not use device near or in water. Do not
touch the device with wet hands.
•Do not let any foreign matter spill into device.
•Do not store in dusty areas.
•Do not expose to chemicals such as benzene and thinners. Do not use
liquid or aerosol cleaners. Clean with a soft damp cloth only.
•Do not expose to direct sunlight for a prolonged period of time, and do
not expose to fire, flame, or other heat sources.
•Do not try to disassemble and/or repair device yourself.
•Do not drop your device or subject it to severe impact.
•Do not place heavy objects on device.
•Do not subject device to excessive pressure.
•If the LCD screen is damaged, do not touch the liquid crystal fluid.
Warning!
•Opening the case may result in electric shock.
•Make sure that you insert the Power Adapter’s plug all the way
into the outlet.
•If the liquid crystal fluid comes in contact with your skin, wipe the skin
area with a cloth and then wash the skin thoroughly with soap and
running water. If the liquid crystal fluid comes into contact with your
eyes, flush the eyes with clean water for at least 15 minutes and seek
medical care. If the liquid crystal fluid is ingested, flush your mouth
thoroughly with water. Drink large quantities of water, and induce
vomiting. Seek medical care.
•This product contains chemicals known to the State of California to
cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.

Installation:
1. Choose a location near your sound system’s amplifier to position the
radio.
2. Place radio into docking cradle.
3. Connect the 3.5mm plug of the audio cable to connection A of the
docking cradle. Connect the dual RCA male audio connectors of the
audio cable to the left and right RCA female connectors on your
amplifier. In the event your amplifier requires a ¼” male connector,
contact AMTC Customer Support to request an adapter.
4. Connect the antenna cable adapter to connection B on the docking
cradle using the smaller connector (SMB female). Connect the larger
connector (F-type male) of the antenna cable adapter to the female F
connector of the RG6 coaxial cable leading to the outdoor antenna.
Antenna placement and installation is covered in the documentation
provided with the antenna.
5. Connect the power adapter to connection C on the docking cradle and
plug it into a wall outlet.
6. Press Power Button to turn the radio on.
7. The radio should indicate that it is tuned to channel 1, the XM Preview
channel. Observe the signal strength indicator at the lower left corner of
the display. If there are not at least two bars present, your antenna
positioning is improper. Consult the antenna documentation for proper
placement.

Activation:
IMPORTANT: DO NOT CALL THE NUMBER DISPLAYED TO
ACTIVATE. Log into your account in the AMTC Customer Portal
(portal.amtc.com). Go to the Devices tab, expand the Media Players
section and locate your radio in the data grid. If you are unsure which
radio this is, search by the radio’s serial number. It’s located on the
labels on the carton and the back of the radio. You may also press the
Menu Button. Radio ID will be highlighted. If it is not highlighted, press
to scroll to and highlight Radio ID. Press the Select button. The Radio
ID will be displayed. Press and hold menu to return to the main display
screen. When you have located your radio in the data grid, there should
be a green circle icon at the far right of the row, indicating that the radio
is ready to activate. Double-click on the radio’s row and then click
“Activate”. It can take several hours for the system to send the activation
signal to your radio.
Operation:
The Main Display
When listening to a channel, information about the channel and what is
currently playing is displayed.

Scrolling
When displaying the main screen, pressing and releasing ▲ or ▼will
cause the radio to immediately tune to the next or previous channel in
the channel lineup. Pressing and holding ▲ or ▼ continuously scrolls
through the channel lineup and briefly displays the information of each

channel. When the button is released, the radio tunes to the last channel
it had scrolled to in the channel lineup.
Direct tune
To directly tune a channel number, press the Direct Button and then the
channel number using the Number Buttons. Wait a moment until the
channel is tuned, or press the Select Button to immediately tune to the
channel.

By category
To select a channel by category, press ◄ or ► to scroll through the
available categories, then press ▲ or ▼ to scroll through the channels in
a category, then press the Select Button to select the highlighted
channel.
Using presets
While tuned to a channel, press and hold for one second a Number
Button. That Number Button will be set to the channel tuned. To tune to
that channel in the future, simply press that number button.
Channel Locking
This feature allows you to lock channels you do not want others (e.g.;
employees) to access without your permission. Locked channels
numbers will appear in the channel or category list with a lock icon and
the word “Locked”. The channel name and artist and song info will not
appear. If you scroll through the channels, the locked channels are
skipped and are neither displayed, nor tuned.
If you attempt to tune to a locked channel you will be prompted to enter
your lock code. The default lock code is 0000. If the lock code is correctly
entered, the channel will begin playing, and the lock icon will change to
. It will remain unlocked until the radio is turned off and on again.
Changing the default lock code
1. Press the Menu Button.
2. Press ▼ to scroll to and highlight Parental Controls, then press the
Select Button.
3. If this is the first time you have used this feature, Parental Controls
will be highlighted. Press the Select Button. You will be prompted to
enter a 4-digit code. For each digit, press one of the Number Buttons and
then press to advance to the next digit. (Press if you

need to go back and edit a previous digit.) When you have selected all 4
digits of your code press the Select Button.
The Code Confirmation screen will be displayed. For your records, write
down the code you have selected. Press the Select Button.
Turning locking on and off
1. Press the Menu Button.
2. Press ▼ to scroll to and highlight Parental Controls, then press the
Select Button.
3. You will be prompted to enter a 4-digit code. For each digit, press one
of the Number Buttons and then press to advance to the next digit.
(Press if you need to go back and edit a previous digit.) When you
have selected all 4 digits of your code press the Select Button.
4. At the “Parental Controls” screen, Parental Controls will be
highlighted. Press the Select Button to toggle the feature on and off.
5. Press and hold the Menu Button to return to the main display screen.
To lock or unlock a channel or category
1. Press the Menu Button
2. Press ▼ to scroll to and highlight Parental Controls, then press the
Select Button.
3. You will be prompted to enter your 4-digit lock code. For each digit,
press one of the Number Butttons and then press to advance to the
next digit.
(Press if you need to go back and edit a previous digit.)
4. When you have entered the correct lock code, press the Select
Button.
5. If Parental Controls is shown as Off, press the Select Button to turn it
On, otherwise continue with the next step.
6. A list of all the categories and the channels in each category will be
displayed. Press ▲and ▼to scroll to and highlight a channel or
category you want to lock. Press the Select Button. A lock icon will
be displayed to the left of the channel or category you locked. (To

unlock a locked channel or category, simply highlight the locked
channel or category and press the Select Button. The lock icon will
disappear indicating the channel or category is unlocked.)
7. You can continue to lock and unlock as many channels or categories
as you wish. When you are finished, press and hold menu to return to
the main display screen
Changing the display’s brightness or contrast
1. Press the Menu Button.
2. Press ▼ to scroll to and highlight Display Settings, then press the
Select Button.
3. Press the Select Button to change the brightness, or press ▼to scroll
to and highlight Contrast and press the Select Button.
4. Press ◄ or ► to increase or decrease the brightness/contrast of the
display.
5. Press the Select Button to confirm the setting.
6. Press and hold the Menu Button to exit.
Changing the audio output level
This feature allows you to match the output level of the radio to other
audio sources connected to your amplifier. If your radio is connected to
an AMTC digital media player (e.g.; iQueue or RemoteLink) for inserting
messages into the music from the radio, use this feature to match the
audio output level of the radio to the level of the messaging output of the

AMTC device. Do not use this feature as a main volume control. Use
the volume control on your PA amplifier for this purpose.
1. Press the Menu Button.
2. Press ▼ to scroll to and highlight Audio Level, then press the Select
Button.
3. Press ◄ or ► to increase or decrease the audio output level.
4. Press the Select Button to confirm the setting.
5. Press and hold the Menu Button to return to the main display screen.
Restoring Factory Default Settings
1. Press the Menu Button.
2. Press ▼ to scroll to and highlight Factory Settings, then press the
Select Button.
3. Press ▼to scroll to and highlight Restore Defaults, then press the
Select Button.
4. A warning screen will be displayed. Press the Select Button to
confirm. If you want to cancel, press the Menu Button to return to
Factory Settings.

Demo Mode
Your radio has a demo mode that starts playing when, for a prolonged
period of time (more than 5 minutes), it either detects it’s not
connected to the antenna, or the antenna stops receiving a signal. It
disappears when the antenna is connected properly or when the radio
starts receiving a signal. You can also exit demo mode at any time, by
pressing and holding the Select Button for 10 seconds. If desired, you
can also manually put radio in demo mode.
The ability to enter demo mode is enabled by default. If you don’t want
the radio to ever enter the demo mode, you can disable the demo
feature. You can enable it again at another time if desired.
To enable or disable the demo mode
1. Press the Menu Button.
2. Press ▼ to scroll to and highlight Demo Mode, then press the Select
Button.
3. Status will be highlighted. Press the Select Button to toggle the
setting between enabled or disabled. (Repeatedly pressing the Select
Button toggles between the choices.)
4. If you have selected disabled, press and hold the Menu Button to
return to the main display screen. If you have selected enabled continue
with step 5.
5. Press ▼to scroll to and highlight Enter Demo Mode, then press the
Select Button. The demo mode will start in 10 seconds.

6. To exit demo mode at any time, press and hold the Select button for
10 seconds.

Troubleshooting
Symptom:
Try this:
No display.
Make sure you have connected the
AC Adapter securely to the Dock,
and that it is plugged securely into
the AC power outlet. Verify that the
AC power outlet is working.
“Acquiring Signal”
You may need to find a better
location for the antenna. Refer to
documentation provided with the
antenna.
“Check Antenna Connection”
•Make sure that the antenna
cable is firmly and securely
plugged into the Dock. Make
sure the cable is not bent or
broken.
•Turn the radio off, then on, to
reset this message.
• If the message persists, most
likely the antenna and/or cable has
been damaged. Replace as
necessary.
“Channel Off Air”
The channel you’ve selected is not
currently broadcasting. Tune to
another channel.
“Loading”
The radio is acquiring audio or
program information This message
usually goes away in
a few seconds
“Updating”
•The radio is updating with the
latest encryption code. Wait until
the update is done.
•You may be trying to tune to a
channel that is
blocked or unavailable. Tune to
another channel.
No program information, such as
artist name, song title, or channel
exists.
The information may not be
available or updates may be in
progress.
Output is intermittent.
•Use earbuds to see if the problem
exists with them
•If yes, check for consistent signal
strength, and for firm and secure
connections between Dock and
