The CoreCard Field Replacement Unit (FRU) is an upgrade that will improve the

funconality of the CoreModule. This guide tells you how to install a new FRU.

Field replacement kit

Requirements

1. Remove CoreCard from packaging

Always use appropriate an-stac handling procedures when handling sleds,

cards and modules.

2. Power o the sled

3. Remove the compute sled from the MX7000 enclosure

4. Remove the compute sled cover

5. Remove the old CoreCard

6. Install the replacement CoreCard into the Fabric B

Make sure screws are fully ght, a loose connecon may cause damage.

8. Power on the sled

Put the removed CoreCard into the ESD bag

Always use appropriate an-stac handling procedures when handling sleds

cards and modules. Use the foam inserts to pack the CoreCard securely.
