THE KEY TO HIGH END AUDIO-VIDEO

PVA
SEVEN-CHANNEL AMPLIFIER • PRELIMINARY DATA SHEET
7
Precision, power and finesse – this is the new PVA 7, seven-
channel power amplifier. Unlocking the incredible sound
sculptures, special effects and dynamics of today’s home
theater and music recordings is no small feat, at least not for
the average amplifier. But then, the PVA 7 is anything but
average. This high-end, 7-channel amplifier is completely at
home delivering all of the thundering impact and excitement
of a THX®Surround EX™ movie or the subtle nuances of
a muti-channel music performance, as it is paying rich
sonic tribute to the sweeping highs and lows in your favorite
music recording.
In build quality and sonic accuracy, the PVA 7 easily withstands
the scrutiny of direct comparisons, including those with
amplifiers costing several times more! For more than a
decade, Sonic Frontiers International has manufactured
award-winning, high-end Digital and Analog Components.
The Anthem™ PVA 7 is destined to carry on this enviable
tradition, providing explosive dynamics and fabulous trans-
parency that serve the demands of both music and movies.
The remarkable Anthem™ PVA 7 is, by a wide margin, the
best performing, best built and best value amplifier available!
Our products are used internationally at all levels of music
reproduction, not only in homes but also recording studios
and even in broadcasting! Europe 1, France’s national radio
station, uses three SFD-2 MKII D/A converters atop the Eiffel
Tower for all their broadcast transmissions. NASA uses a
Power 2 power amplifier for the Space Shuttle program in its
testing laboratory in Key Largo, Florida. (These are just a
couple of our more notable professional-use owners.)
FOR MUSIC AND HOME THEATER
A WORLD CLASS OVERACHIEVER!
ANTHEM’S FIVE KEYS TO SUPERIOR PRODUCTS
1. Superior Circuit Design
The sonic purity of the Anthem™
PVA 7’s design is the result of more
than twelve years of intensive
researchanddevelopmentinhigh-end
design. Superior high-end sound
begins with a superior power supply.
To that end, the PVA 7 uses a cus-
tom-built, low-noise 800 VA toroidal
power transformer and advanced
power supply regulation with high-
quality, low-ESL, low-ESR filter
capacitors, with an incredible
100,000 µF of storage capacity.
Proprietary and patented circuit
designs follow the ‘Keep-It-Simple’
principle, using the fewest number
of parts in the signal path to fully
maintain the highest integrity of
sound. The PVA 7 provides both the
finesse and instantaneous output
power needed to effortlessly repro-
ducethechallengingvarietyofspecial
effects in movies, or demanding
musical passages. It is also stable
as a rock, even into difficult loads,
maintaining complete sonic integrity
at all output levels to provide a
supremely clear,detailedandconsis-
tently powerful sonic performance.
The PVA 7 amplifier can be powered
on/off three ways: manually, with the
On/Off switch on the front panel;
remotely, via its 12-volt trigger input;
or automatically, with its Auto-On/Off
circuit – with an audio signal (from
Preamplifier or SSP) it immediately
switches on, and when there is no
audio signal after 20 minutes, it simply
switches off.
2. Highest Quality Parts
and Materials
Superiorperformancedemandssupe-
rior parts and materials. Designed
andbuiltinNorthAmerica, the PVA7
incorporates parts and materials of
the highest quality. From its FR-4
militaryspec epoxycircuitboards, 28
high-current bipolar output transis-
tors, oversized computer-designed
and modeled heatsinks for cool
operation and long life, to our own
custom-designed robust binding
poststo ensure full power delivery at
all times, the PVA 7 build quality is
clearlyamongthefinestintheworld!
3. Minimum Noise and Distortion
Whetherit’sthe subtleor not-so-subtle
effectsin amovie– creakingstairs in
a haunted house, wind whispering
across a desolate beach, the crack
of a bat meeting leather – or the
tonal subtleties produced by a single
violin, the PVA 7 captures it all! With
ultra-lowdistortion and an incredible
signal-to-noise ratio of 122 dB, this
amplifier is one of the cleanest and
quietestonthemarket.Soundappears
in its purest form from a completely
‘black,’ silent background, to capture
you with all of its emotion and power.
4. Expert Craftsmanship
and Superior Quality Control
Anthem™ products are internationally
recognized not only for their excep-
tionalsonic performance, but alsofor
their superb craftsmanship and
reliability. Every product we produce
must meet our rigorous standards,
including a rigid battery of measuring
and listening tests, before it is
released to the market. The result is
a line of products respected for their
flawless performance, and designed
to provide complete and lasting sat-
isfaction for years to come. It is
notat all surprising that our products
are highly sought after around
the world!
5. A Passion for Better Sound!
Before pragmatic design, before
performance testing and long before
production, comes passion! A pas-
sion to produce something truly
exceptional. Our products are
extraordinary, meeting and exceed-
ing the needs and expectations of
listeners in 48 countries. Whether
for personal or professional use
Anthem™ products are clearly
world-class leaders in high-end
performance and value.

™
A FEW WORDS ON RELIABILITY
The PVA 7 amplifier was created to perform flawlessly, offering stunning
musicality,tonalneutralityanddynamics,whiledrivinganyspeakerloadreliably
under real world conditions! Although the power supply is conservatively rated
and the amplifier runs cool for greater reliability, we didn’t stop there.
This fabulous amplifier also features our ALM™ (Advanced Load Monitoring)
circuitry which protects sensitive output devices, constantly monitoring
temperature, current and voltage to ensure optimum long-term performance.
ALM™ is totally non-invasive – it is not in the signal path, and only engages
in the most extreme circumstances where it will protect the amplifier from
being damaged, by maintaining the safe operating area (SOA) of the output
devices to give you years of uninterrupted service.
Buyer beware! Not all amplifier manufacturers have sophisticated load
monitoring provisions. Many have saved the added cost by leaving their
output devices unprotected. In the event of failure you may have to suffer
the inconvenience of disconnecting and arranging for the repair of your
amplifier, resulting in ‘down time’, simply because the manufacturer chose
to effectively use the amplifier’s output devices as ‘fuses’. ALM™ is a far
better solution, and it is included within the PVA 7 amplifier, making its value
even that much more remarkable!
The PVA 7 amplifier is another stunning example of how Anthem™ is the key
to high-end Audio/Video. Its sound quality rivals the finest available, at any
price; but then account for price and the value is simply unprecedented!
