1. Introduction
Thank you for choosing the Anyload PS805-B Thermal Receipt Printer.
This thermal printer works with Anyload 805BS and 805TS general
purpose weighing indicators. A user-friendly, plug and play, low-noise
thermal printing, easy roll paper installation, easy paper jam clearance
and easy maintenance for tasks such as head cleaning and thermal line
printing method.
2. Safety Notice
* Read this manual before operating and/or connecting the printer.
* Don't touch the printer head with hard objects.
* Don't touch the cutter blade.
* Don't bend the power cord excessively / place any heavy objects on it
* When connecting or disconnecting the plug, always hold the plug,
not the cord.
* Keep the printer out of children's reach.
* Use only approved accessories and do not try to disassemble, repair
or remodel it.
* Place the printer on a stable surface. Choose firm, level surface
to avoid vibration.
* Don't let water or other foreign objects go inside the printer.
* Don't connect a telephone line into the peripheral drive connector.
* We suggest you unplug the printer from the power outlet if not in
use for a long period.
* If there is a paper jam, switch off and unplug the printer, wait for 10
seconds to let the printer head cool down before removing the paper.
* Do not place in a humid and/or dusty environment.
* Use only appropriate roll paper.
* Don't use roll papers with end-of-roll glued on the reel. The printer
might not able to track the end and might damage the printer.
* Don't use paper rolls without reel either. It might cause paper jam
due to not enough weight when running close to the end of the roll.

Switch off the printer power
Plug in the cable connector of the AC adapter to the power connector
at the rear of the printer
Connect the AC power cord to the inlet of AC adapter, and insert the
AC power cord plug into a suitable wall outlet
4.4 Opening the Printer Cover
Open the printer cover by pressing up one side of cover open lever.
4.5 Installing the Roll Paper
Open the printer cover
Remove the used roll paper, if there is one
Install the roll paper in the correct direction as shown in the figure
below

Pull out some roll paper and press down the center of the printer cover
to close the cover
Tear off any excess paper in the direction of the side of the printer
Note:
* Use only high quality thermal paper roll with appropriate size
and within the specification.
* Roll paper that is too wide or too narrow might cause paper jam.
* Using low quality thermal paper roll might result a poor print out
and/or may reduce the life of the printer head.
* Don't press the FEED key when out of paper to prevent damaging
the printer head.
* Don't pull the paper out by hand.
* Close the top cover gently.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning the Printer Head
After using the printer for a long period of time, the print out might be faded or
not clear. The printer may require cleaning maintenance.
1. Make sure the power cord is unplugged and the interface cable is
disconnected.
2. Open the top cover and remove the paper roll from the printer.
3. Wait for 10 seconds to let the printer cool down.
4. Use a cotton swab, dip with alcohol and wipe the printer head gently.
4. Wait until the alcohol on the printer head completely evaporated, reload the
thermal paper roll, close the cover and reconnect all cables.
5. Check if the print out has improved.
6. Repeat the above steps if necessary. If the problem persists, contact your
technical support.

Never use sand paper, cutter, screw driver or any hard object to scratch the
printer head. These will permanently damage the printer head.
5.2 Cleaning the Paper Scraps
After a long period of use, paper scraps are accumulated around the printer
head area. Paper scraps left at the gears might result in damaging the gear
system therefore, regular cleaning is required.
1. Make sure the power cord and interface cables are unplugged or
disconnected
2. Use a soft brush to clean up paper scraps around the cutter blade.
3. Open the top cover and remove the paper roll from the printer.
4. Use air brush to blow away the paper scraps on the gear system. Use a soft
brush also to remove paper scraps around the printer head.
Note:
* It is recommend to do the paper scraps cleaning twice a month if printer is
using a low quality thermal paper roll and/or the printer is used very often.
5.3 Handling the Printer

Power LED: Green light means printer is on
Error LED: Red light means error has occurred at the printer
Feed button: Pressing and holding this button will run the paper
6.2 Possible Causes the Error LED will light on
Out of Paper –replace roll paper
Printer Offline –connection error with other DTEs
Printer head over heat –Let the printer cool down, it will resume
automatically
Thermal Printer Head error –Non-recoverable. Send the unit to
authorized dealer

The distance between the tear off position and the printing position is 12mm

8. Communication Interface
8.1 USB
The PS805-B can be interface to PC using the USB interface
8.2 CASH DRAWER ETHERNET
The PS805-B can be connected to a Cash Drawer using its Ethernet
interface
8.3 SERIAL (DB-9)
The PS805-B can also be connected directly to a PC using this DB-9 serial
interface. This is the interface to be used to connect this printer to
Anyload’s top of the line weighing indicators like 805TS, 805BS, 805HP and
DD-KC1. The PS805-B can also work mostly to any brands of weighing
indicators in weighing industry.

8.3.1 Connect to 805TS/805BS Indicator or to a compatible weighing
indicator
For older models of 805TS & 805BS ( 805TS-B-16 / 805BS-B-16 & older ), use the
terminals 4, 5 & 6: 4=TXD, 5=RXD, 6=GND
SET THE FOLLOWING PARAMETERS OF 805BS / 805TS INDICATOR:
1. Baud Rate should be 9600
2. Mode of Transmission should be “Upon Request”
For the compatible weighing indicator, set the Baud Rate to 9600 and Mode of
Transmission to “Upon Request”. Refer to the diagram above for the wirings.
The TXD signal from indicator goes to the RXD of the printer and the TXD signal
from printer goes to the RXD of indicator. Use the GND to complete the
connection.
