AR-DV10 i the world' mo t advanced multi-mode, SDR hand-held receiver that upport a
variety of digital, a well a analog mode .

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
• Do not u e any other power adapter than the one upplied with the receiver. Only the
upplied power adapter i te ted and approved for u e with thi receiver. U ing
un-approved power adapter may cau e moke, fire, or battery to damage.
• Do not li ten with earphone at high volume level . If you experience a ringing in your
ear , reduce the volume level or di continue u e.
• Do not operate the receiver in a wet environment unle the flexible rubber antenna,
battery pack, belt-clip and all rubber cover are ecurely attached to the receiver. Be
ure the battery pack i dry before attaching it. Expo ing the in ide of the receiver to
water can re ult in eriou damage to the receiver. In ca e the battery pack ha been
expo ed to water, immediately dry the contact completely before attaching it again to
the receiver.
• Do not operate the receiver while driving a vehicle, a an accident may occur.
• Do not u e har h olvent uch a alcohol or benzene to clean the receiver, a it i
likely to damage the receiver’ urface . If the receiver became dirty, wipe it clean with a
oft, dry cloth.
• Do not leave the receiver in direct unlight for an extended time, or in area with
temperature below –10°C or over +60°C.
• Thi receiver meet IPX5 requirement for waterproof protection. However, after the
receiver ha been dropped or opened by an unauthorized per on, waterproof protection
cannot be guaranteed becau e of po ible damage to the receiver’ ca e or waterproof
eal.
Special precautions regarding the supplied lithium-ion battery pack:
• Do not hort the battery pack terminal . A hort may occur if the terminal touch metal
object , therefore, be cautiou when placing the battery pack in a pocket or bag. A hort
may damage the battery pack, and al o con titute a potential fire hazard.
• Do not expo e the battery pack terminal to any liquid. Do not charge or u e a wet
battery pack.
• Do not attempt to open or impact the battery pack, or older the terminal , a thi may
cau e liquid leakage, fire hazard, damage and per onal injury.
• Never expo e the battery pack to temperature higher than +60°C uch a in a vehicle
during hot ea on , a it could initiate a fire, or degrade the battery performance.
• U e only the upplied AOR battery pack with the upplied AOR power adapter. The
upplied power adapter i te ted and approved for u e with the upplied AOR battery
pack. U ing unapproved battery pack or power adapter may cau e moke or fire; or
may cau e the battery pack to bur t.
Recycling of the lithium-ion battery pack
Lithium-ion batterie have an e timated life time of 300 to 500 charge , after which they
become weak, even fully charged. Contact your local dealer to purcha e a new battery pack
and to obtain information on how lithium-ion batterie hould be recycled in your country.

2. CONTROLS & CONNECTORS
2.1. TOP PANEL
(1) Antenna jack (BNC 50Ω)
Attach the upplied flexible antenna or connect
an external antenna.
(2) Antenna ring
Cover the gap between the antenna and the jack.
Remain on the jack when the antenna i
removed.
(3) VOLUME (inner) knob
Turn thi (inner) control clockwi e to increa e the
volume and counterclockwi e to decrea e the
volume.
(4) DIAL selector (outer) knob
Tune the frequency up or down and elect
menu item .
2.2. FRONT PANEL

(6) Cursor keys and [ENT] key
[◀] and [ ▶] are u ed to change the
frequency or elect an item di played on
the LCD. Pre the [ENT] key to tore
the election or entered value . The

the memory channel regi tration menu.

2.3. LEFT SIDE
(14) POWER switch
Pre the witch briefly to turn the receiver ON.
Pre and hold it for 3 econd to turn the receiver
OFF.
(15) SQL/MONI (squelch/monitor) switch
Pre to enable the quelch value to be adju ted
with the DIAL. Pre again to validate and ave
the etting.
Pre and hold thi button to open the quelch
manually, to li ten for weak ignal . That i the
MONITOR function.
(16) microSD card slot
Lift the rubber cover to in tall the upplied SD card.
The SD card i u ed for audio recording &
playback. The card i al o u ed to backup and
re tore memorie , memory bank , y tem & CSV
data, a well a to in tall firmware update .
All rubber covers must be closed and the
battery pack installed for the receiver to be
waterproof (IPX5).
2.4. RIGHT SIDE
(17) EARPHONES jack
(3 pin 3.5mm, mono output)
Lift the rubber cover to connect earphone . A menu
etting allow the earphone cable to act a an
antenna for FM Broadca t band (64 -
107.99999MHz, 100kHz IF bandwidth only).
(1 ) DATA jack
(USB mini-B ocket)
Lift the rubber cover to connect a USB cable for
command control. (No AOR oftware upplied.)
(19) EXT DC jack
To power the receiver from an external ource,
connect either the upplied AC power adapter or
the cigarette lighter DC/DC converter.

In ert the battery in the battery compartment,
pre the end of the battery latch on the bottom of
the receiver, then lock the pack by liding the
locking plate be ide the latch until the entire
“LOCK” appear .
To remove the battery pack:
Turn the receiver off, lide the locking plate until
“UNLOCK” appear entirely, lift the end of the
battery up, by pre ing the battery latch, then
remove the battery from the receiver.

3. POWER SUPPLY
CAUTION REGARDING THE LITHIUM-ION BATTERY PACK.
・ Do not leave the charger connected to the receiver for continuou period in exce of
24 hour . Long term overcharging can degrade the lithium-ion battery pack and
ignificantly horten it u eful life.
・ A complete di charge of the battery i likely to horten it u eful life.
・ The receiver tandby mode con ume ome battery power even when the receiver i
witched OFF. If the receiver i unu ed for over a month, to prevent over-di charge of
the battery, either remove the battery pack from the receiver or charge the battery every
month.
・ If the battery i tored out ide of the receiver for an extended period of time, it hould be
charged for about 2 hour once every 6 month to prevent over-di charge.
・ The battery pack can be charged approximately 300 time ; however, over-charging or
di charging it might reduce thi number.
Do not attempt to open the battery pack a per onal injury or damage to the lithium-ion cell
could occur if they become accidentally hort-circuited.
3.1. BATTERY PACK INSTALLATION & REMOVAL
INSTALLATION
1. In ert the battery into the battery compartment and then pre the battery latch on the
bottom of the receiver onto the battery catch.
2. Slide the locking plate up be ide the latch, until “LOCK” appear beneath the latch.
3. The receiver will power ON automatically. To witch it OFF, imply pre the red power
button for 3 econd .
REMOVAL
1.
Turn the receiver OFF.
2. Slide the locking down plate until “UNLOCK” appear beneath the latch.
3. Relea e the battery latch and Lift the end of the battery upward from the compartment,
then remove the battery from the receiver.

3.2. BATTERY PACK CHARGING
It i nece ary to charge the lithium-ion battery fully before it fir t u e.
1. In tall the battery pack onto the receiver. En ure that the receiver i witched OFF.
2. In ert the AC power adapter DC plug into the jack located on the back of the fa t-charger
cradle, then plug the AC power adapter into an AC line outlet.
3. In ert the receiver into the fa t charger cradle a pictured.
The AC power adapter may be connected directly to the receiver, however charging i much
lower.
Approximate charging time of a fully di charged battery pack:
・ AC power adapter connected to receiver: 90%charge:8~9 hour
Full charge:11~12 hour
・ AC power adapter connected to fa t charger cradle: 6〜7 hour
Note: While it i po ible to witch the receiver ON and operate it while charging the battery
pack, the charging time will be ignificantly longer.
A:
When the AC power adapter i connected directly to the receiver, after approximately
10 econd the LCD will indicate “CHARGING”. When the battery i fully charged, thi indi-
cation will di appear. If the receiver i witched ON while the charger i till connected, the
icon will appear at the top of the LCD. A minute later it will change to , indicating
the battery i charging.
Important:
Do not leave the AC power adapter connected directly to the receiver after the charge i
complete, a long-term overcharging can degrade the lithium-ion battery pack and ignifi-
cantly horten it u eful life.

If the AC power adapter i connected to the fa t charger cradle, when the receiver i
in erted into the cradle, the cradle’ LED will fir t turn red, indicating a charging tatu .
When the battery pack i fully charged, the LED will turn green.
A fla hing red LED indicate a charging error. If thi occur , plea e check the following:
・ In pect the battery pack and charger cradle electrode for any contamination or
ob tructive object.
・ The battery pack might be over-di charged. A totally di charged battery pack cannot be
charged u ing the cradle. In that ca e connect the AC power adapter directly to the
receiver to charge the battery pack for about 10 minute . Then continue the charge a
u ual through the charger cradle.
3.3. POWERING WITH ALCALINE BATTERIES
The upplied alkaline battery tray allow operation of the receiver u ing ix “AA” ize
alkaline battery cell .

・ The battery tray mu t NOT be u ed with rechargeable cell , a it doe not contain the
thermal and over-current protection circuit required when utilizing Ni-Cd and Ni-MH
cell !
When in talling the alkaline batterie , in ert the (-) end fir t, then pre in the (+) end o
the battery nap into place. Pay attention to the polarity indicated in ide the tray.

3.4. POWERING WITH CIGARETTE LIGHTER DC/DC CONVERTER
With the upplied cigarette lighter DC/DC converter (DC-10), A vehicle' cigarette lighter
ocket (12V or 24V) may be u ed a the power ource.
Important:

・ Do not connect any acce ory not approved by AOR to upply DC power; otherwi e the
receiver may be damaged.
・ The AOR cigarette lighter DC/DC converter upplied for other AOR receiver are not
compatible with the AR-DV10.

4. ANTENNA
The AR-DV10 i upplied with a flexible rubber antenna to be attached to the 50 Ohm BNC
jack located on the top of the receiver.
Note:
・ AR-DV10 doe not feature any internal AM ferrite antenna.
・ Due to phy ical limitation , the upplied flexible rubber antenna i not ideal for reception
of LW, MW or SW. Although it doe work to ome extent, a dedicated external antenna
hould be connected for optimal reception of tho e band . However, the receiver RF
tage i extremely en itive, if a ignal i too trong, it could potentially overload the RF
tage. Therefore, it i highly advi ed to u e an external antenna ignal attenuator when
connecting to an external antenna.
ANTENNA INSTALLATION
1. Make ure that the antenna ring i in place.
2. Align the lot of the antenna connector to the pin of the antenna jack.
3. Rotate the antenna connector clockwi e ¼ turn to lock the mechani m.
・ To remove the flexible antenna, rotate the antenna counterclockwi e ¼ turn to unlock
the mechani m.
The antenna ring fill the gap between the antenna and the jack. It hould remain on the jack
when the antenna i removed. The ring doe not fulfill any waterproof function.
4.1. EARPHONE ANTENNA
When the earphone antenna cable function i activated, the cable act a an antenna for the
FM Broadca t band (64-107.99999MHz, IF bandwidth 100kHz only).
1. Pre [MENU] → u e the cur or key [▶] to elect
[OPT]and pre [ENT].
2. U e the cur or key [▶] to elect [EAR ANT] and, then
pre [ENT].
3. Select ON or OFF by rotating the DIAL elector knob.
4. Pre [ENT] twice.
When et to ON, [EAR] will be di played on the main
creen.

5. BASIC OPERATION
5.1. POWER ON/OFF
To power the receiver ON, briefly pre the red power button. The boot equence will tart
when the button i relea ed, it take about 3 econd for the receiver to be ready for
operation.
To power the receiver OFF, pre and hold the red power witch for 3 econd . Relea e the
button after 3 econd , and the hutdown equence will complete.
It take about 3 econd for the receiver to completely hut down.
During the e 3 econd , all receiver etting and the frequency data are aved in the
receiver’ memory.
Note: Do not uddenly interrupt the power upply, otherwi e the receiver will not retain the
previou ly aved receiver etting and frequency data.
5.2. VOLUME
Turn the volume (inner) knob clockwi e to increa e the volume and counterclockwi e to
decrea e the volume. The volume knob control the peaker & earphone volume , a well
a the key pre , tartup and error beep ound level .
However, the beep ound level can be et individually a follow :
1. Pre [MENU], u e [▶] to elect [CONF] and pre [ENT] twice.
2. U ing the DIAL knob, adju t the beep ound to the de ired level between 00 (off) and 15
(max).
3. Pre [ENT] to Validate the etting.
The maximum volume level can al o be et a follow :
1. Pre [MENU], u e [▶] to elect [CONF] and pre [ENT].
2. U e [▶] to elect [VOL ATT] and pre [ENT].
3. U ing the DIAL knob, adju t the volume level attenuation between 00 (maximum
volume) and 15 (mo t attenuated). Default i level 5.
4. Validate with [ENT].
