Your Appello LivingHub provides you with the
fastest possible response when you need help.
It also delivers a variety of other features to
enhance your comfort and security whilst living
in your home.
Our quick start guide will help you to
understand the features of your system,
Your LivingHub gives you almost instant
access to the experienced emergency careline
operators at Appello.
Available 24/7, this dedicated team are able to
provide the help you require in an emergency.
Your LivingHub features include;
9Lodge Manager (non-emergency) calling.
9Video door access: when a visitor arrives,
using the keypad at the entrance, they can call
your apartment number. This will make the
LivingHub in your apartment ring.
9Video apartment calling: residents can also
video/voice call each other directly.

touchscreen to make
navigating simple and
intuitive.
When using the touchscreen
it is best to use the pads of
your ngertips (not your
ngernails).
To select a function on the
Home screen, select an item
in a list or select a backward
arrow to move back one
screen, tap the item once
with your nger.

When you activate your
alarm by pressing the alarm
button on your LivingHub
CARELINE / LODGE MANAGER
or pendant, your call will be
transferred to your Lodge
Manager or directly to the
Appello Monitoring Team if the
Lodge Manager is unavailable.
What happens when
you activate the
Emergency Alarm?
Raising an
emergency alarm
In an emergency, to contact your Lodge
Manager or the Appello Team either:
• Press the button on your alarm pendant or;
• Press the ‘Careline / Lodge Manager’ button
CARELINE / LODGE MANAGER found at the top of
your LivingHub screen.

The experienced operator will assess
the situation, either contacting your
Lodge Manager, or the emergency
services directly if required.
The Appello operator will stay on the call until
the help and assistance you need arrives.
Where appropriate we will provide the
emergency services with your personal details
to ensure you receive a suitable response.

Apartment calling Answering a call
Your LivingHub enables you to make calls to
other apartments and residents within your
building.
These calls can be either carried out via voice or
if you would like to see the person you are calling
you can use the video function.
Making a room to room call
1. Firstly from the homescreen select the
contact book CONTACTS .
2. You will be presented with a keypad and speed
dial buttons to the Owners Lounge and Lodge
Manager.
3. To call an apartment, use the keypad to enter
the apartment number followed by the call
CALL button.
When you receive a call either from the main
building entrance or another resident you have
the following options:
Accepting a video call
• To accept a video call press the video
VIDEO button.
Accepting a voice only call
• To accept a voice only call press the audio
AUDIO button.
Snapshots
• Prior to accepting and during the call you
are able to take a snapshot of the caller by
selecting the capture button (a memory
card will be required to use this functionality).

Opening the front door
for your visitor (if applicable)
Privacy
When a visitor wishes to enter the property they
can call you via the door entry panel at the front
of the building.
Your LivingHub will display who is at the door via
the camera located on the door entry panel.
Opening the door
• To open the door press the unlock button.
To end the call press the cancel button.
Refusing entry
• To refuse entry press the cancel button.
Snapshots
• Prior to opening/refusing entry you are able to
take a snapshot of the caller by selecting the
capture button .
Mute
Your LivingHub is installed with a Mute setting.
Whilst the Mute setting is on, calls can be
received but the ring sound will be disabled.
If you activate your alarm whilst Mute is
selected, your alarm will override this setting.
Turning Mute on
• From the LivingHub home screen press the
settings SETTINGS button.
• Next select mute in the bottom left corner,
the icon will turn white. To return to the
homepage select the home icon.
Turning Mute o
• From the LivingHub home screen press the
settings SETTINGS button.
• Next select mute in the bottom left corner,
the icon will turn grey. To return to the
homepage select the home icon.
In the interest of security, please only let your
own visitors into the building.

Your LivingHub has inbuilt home security
functionality allowing you to activate the
movement sensors when you leave your property.
Whilst activated should the sensors detect
someone enter your apartment your Lodge
Manager or the Appello Monitoring Team will be
notied instantly.
How to set the intruder alarm.
1. From the LivingHub home screen press the
home security HOME SECURITY button.
2. In the following menu press the ‘Away’ icon
located in the bottom left corner. The icon will
turn yellow once selected and you will hear a
conrmation chime.
3. Your intruder alarm will now be set.
Turning o you intruder alarm.
On entering your apartment please proceed to the
LivingHub immediately.
1. Press the settings HOME SECURITY button.
2. Press the yellow ‘Away’ icon in the bottom left
corner. You will be presented with a keypad.
3. Enter your passcode to disarm the alarm,
followed by ‘Conrm’.
4. The alarm will be disarmed, the button will return
to it’s original white colour and you will hear a
conrmation chime.

Further support
around your home
Communal areas
Within the communal areas in the building you will also nd
equipment for raising an emergency alarm.
By pressing the large red button on the unit you will be able to
activate the alarm call.
Bathroom
In your apartments bathroom you will nd a waterproof button. Pressing this
button will raise an emergency alarm call.
You will be able to talk to your Lodge Manager or the Appello team via the extra
sensitive speaker / microphone on the LivingHub in your apartment.
Pull Cords
Additionally in communal areas you may nd emergency pull cords.
By pulling the cord you will be able to activate an emergency alarm
call to your Lodge Manager or the Appello team.
