SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Failure to observe these safety instructions may cause bodily injury, or damage
to the product. Read these instructions carefully and keep this user’s manual in
an accessible location for future reference.
1. Do not plug in or unplug the power cord with wet hands.
2. Do not plug the product into an AC outlet with the incorrect voltage.
(Be sure to use a voltage that is between AC 100V~240V)
3. Do not plug several products into one multi-outlet.
4. Do not apply pressure to the power cord or place heavy objects on it.
5. Immediately stop using the product if it emits strange noise, odor, or
smoke.
6. Do not use aerosol sprayers containing flammable gas inside or around
the product.
7. Do not allow foreign objects or liquids to enter the product, or serious
damage may result.
8. Do not place the product on an unstable surface. The product may cause
a fire if it is dropped, damaged, or broken.
The product may cause a fire or electric shock when it is used
improperly. Observe the above safety measures at all times.
If the product is damaged, immediately turn off the power and
disconnect the power cord. Contact your dealer for assistance.
The following instructions will help you to make better use of this product.
1. Keep the machine away from locations subject to high humidity, dust, or
temperatures that exceed the specification. (Refer to SEC. 1.4
Specification)
2. Clean the product only by using a dry cloth or a cloth soaked with
detergent. Never use thinner or other volatile solvents for cleaning.
3. At the end of the day, clean and inspect the exterior of the machine after
the machine is powered off.
4. Use only specified accessories.
5. Do not expose the accessories directly to sunlight, high temperatures,
humidity, dust, or gas.
6. Do not place heavy objects on top of the product or lean them against the
product. These items may fall down and cause injury.
7. Do not block the air vent of the product as this can cause heat
accumulation inside the box machine and may cause a fire.

CHAPTER 1 PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Welcome
The PCM Series is a function integrated monitor designed for POS system. Stable
hinge structure prevents panel from wobbling. The optional magnetic stripe card
reader can be also integrated aside the screen. Depending on the requirement,
the PCM-1000 Series is available in 2 versions: 15” Standalone Touch Monitor or
built-in second LCD for the POS terminal.
1.1 Unpacking
Confirm that all the following items are contained in the carton. If any item is
missing or damaged, contact the dealer from whom you purchased the product.

CHAPTER 2 HARDWARE INSTALLATION
Before starting any hardware installation, ensure the system is powered off and
the power cord is disconnected to prevent possible damage to the product.
2.1 PCM-1215 Touch Monitor
Connecting your monitor
1. Turn off your Host PC and disconnect the power cable.
2.
Connect the VGA cable to the connectors on both the Host PC and
monitor.
3. Connect the DC 12V power cable to the 12V DC Jack.
4. Connect the RS232 cable on both the Host PC and monitor to enable
touch function.
5. Connect the USB cable B to the Host PC and monitor. Once this cable is
connected, the other 2xUSB ports are available for USB device.
6. Turn on your monitor and Host PC. If you do not see any image, check
whether all the input cables are connected correctly, or refer to CH.5

Magnetic Stripe Reader (MSR) Installation
An optional MSR can be installed on both the right and left side of PCM-1215.
By default, the MSR is installed on the right side.
Step 1 Remove the cover from the MSR extension slot.
Step 2 Connect the MSR cable correctly.
Step 3 Fix the MSR module in position with 2 screws.

2.2 PCM-1015 Second Display Installation
Step 1 Tilt the LCD of the KP series to its horizontal position. (Figure 2-a)

Step 2 Remove the cable management and the customer display covers on the
main unit. (Figure 2-b) Unfasten the 2 thumb screws off both the front
and rear cover of the KP POS Terminal. (Figure 2-c)

Step 3 Remove the top hinge cover by using a screwdriver. (Figure 2-d, 2-e)

Step 4 Install the hinge with 4 screws. (Figure 2-f) Fit the PCM-1015 onto the
hinge. Make sure that the 4 connection points are connected properly.

Step 5 Fit the top hinge cover and the upper hinge cover of the panel.

Step 6 Fit the lower hinge cover to the PCM-1015 and fix with 1 thumb screw.

Step 5 Connect the VGA cable to both the VGA port (DB15) and the power
cable to both the 12V DC power jack. (Figure 2-k)

CHAPTER 3 TOUCH DRIVER INSTALLATION
This chapter describes the driver requirements and how to install the drivers
from the driver CD. All step-by-step procedures described below are for
Windows XP and similar on all other Microsoft Windows platforms.
Insert the driver CD into your CD-ROM drive. Windows will automatically detect
it and the Appostar Driver Installer appears on the screen. If not, locate the
Setup.exe file at CD:\ and double-click it to execute the installation. Follow
the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
Touch Panel Driver Installation
a. Click Touch Panel.b. Click Next

c. Uncheck the “Install PS/2
interface driver” option. Click
Next to continue.
d. Select the “Install RS232 interface
driver” option. Click Next to
continue.

completes in seconds.

OSD SETTING

CHAPTER 4 OSD SETTING
OSD (On Screen Display) Setting allows user to adjust the screen picture to its
optimal status.
OSD Function
MENU Activate the On Screen Display (OSD) menu or scroll down
the menu bar
LEFT Decrease setting value or scroll down the OSD main menu bar
RIGHT Increase setting value or scroll up the OSD main menu bar
AUTO Activate automatic setup and adjustment
POWER LED To indicate monitor on/off status.
