Preparing For Installation
Check the following list of components to ensure that all parts are packe with your system.
RO System Storage Tank Faucet Kit Fee A apter Kit
Drain Sa le Tank Valve Filter Wrench
Tubing: Blue, Yellow,
Orange & Black
Recommended Tool List:
Have the below tools on han before beginning installation. These are not inclu e with the system.
Variable spee rill with ⅛”, ¼" & 7/16” rill bits
½” an 7/16” open-en wrenches (or a justable)
Phillips screw river
Utility knife
Teflon tape
Check Location:
Determine the location for the installation of the RO system. Avoi locations where the system might come in
contact with hot water pipes or other hazar s.
Determine the location for the faucet. Check to see that rilling the faucet hole will not amage pipes or wires
running un erneath the sink.
Determine the location for the storage tank. A maximum istance from tank to faucet of 15 feet is possible
(a itional tubing will be nee e ). The system will pro uce a faster flow at the faucet with the shortest tubing
run from tank to faucet.

System Mounting
Determine whether mounting the system to the wall is necessary or esire . This can be optional.
Dry wall anchors an screws may be necessary (not inclu e with the system).
1. Mark screw locations at the esire positions. Use the two holes on the back of the RO System
mounting bracket for marker gui es.
2. Screw the screws into the mounting wall on the marke positions. Use an anchoring evice
appropriate for the type of material you are screwing into.
3. Hang the purification system onto the screws by the holes on the back of the unit.
Fittings and Tu ing:
Compression fittings are use throughout the system. To ensure an optimal seal, tubing shoul be cut with the
en square. An angle cut or istortion of the tubing will not provi e an efficient seal an may cause leaks.
Determine the length of tubing nee e for each connection an cut each segment of tubing to the appropriate
length.
To ensure a secure seal using quick connect fittings:
•Push the tubing into the fitting, to the pipe stop. The collet
(gripper) has teeth which hol the tubing firmly in position while
the 'O' Ring provi es a permanent leak proof seal.
•Check the Seal: Pull on the tubing to check it is secure. It is
goo practice to test the system prior to leaving site an /or
before use.
•To Disconnect: Ensure system is epressurize before
removing fittings. Push in the collet against the face of the
fitting. With the collet hel in this position the tube can be
remove . The fitting can then be re-use .

Starting Your Installation
1. Shut ff the Water
a. Locate the valve in the col water fee line you use for the supply.
Accidentally hooking up the system to the hot water supply line will permanently
damage the membrane (see conditions for operation). To assure you are using the
cold water line, turn on both the hot and cold faucet. After the water is warm to the
touch, feel the pipes under the sink. It will be easy to identify the hot and cold pipes.
b. Close the col water valve. Turn on the col water faucet only to assure that the line is completely
shut off an the line is raine . If no shut off valve is locate un er the sink, or if water continues to
come out of the faucet, turn off the main supply at the entry to the house.

Faucet Installation
For this, step, you will need:
oWrench
oVariable spee rill w/ ⅛” an 7/16” rill bits
Faucet Assembly Kit Yellow Tubing
1. Determine the desired location for your R Faucet
The pro uct water faucet may be installe on any flat surface at least 2” in iameter. Check the un ersi e of
the location for interference. The stan ar faucet that is supplie with the system requires a ½” iameter hole.
The optional air-gap faucet requires a larger hole of ¾” to allow for the a itional tubing connections require .
•Stainless Steel Sinks
Begin by placing a piece of masking tape or uct tape on the etermine location where the hole is to be
rille . Make a small in ent to mark the esire rilling location using a center punch. Drill a pilot hole with
a ⅛” metal rill bit. Enlarge the hole using a ¼” metal rill bit, using factory approve metho or approve
plumbing practice.
•Porcelain/Enamel Sinks or Tile Countertop
Sinks of this type are very easy to amage ue to the nature of the materials of construction. A successful
installation into these sinks requires a knowle geable technician with the proper cutting tools. We strongly
recommen the use of a “Relton” type evice. Follow the irections that accompany the tool carefully.

(recommended)
9. Brass Ferrule (included only
for those who prefer to use
brass instead of plastic)
10. Brass Compression Nut
•Sli e the small rubber washer, then the metal cover, then the large rubber faucet over the mounting
tube onto the faucet base, in that or er so that the small rubber washer is on top.
•Insert the mounting tube into the hole in the sink an position the faucet correctly.
•From un er the sink, install the plastic locating washer followe by the metal lock washer onto the
threa e mounting tube, an secure them with the brass nut. Screw on the brass nut an tighten.
•Fee the brass compression nut onto the yellow tubing, threa e si e facing the en , then fee the
plastic ferrule an install the tubing insert into the en of the tubing. Insert the en of the tubing into the
faucet mounting tube as far as it will go then tighten the nut with a wrench.
Note: Only one ferrule is require . We recommen using the plastic ferrule. The brass ferrule is inclu e
only for those who prefer to use brass instea of the plastic. The unuse ferrule may be iscar e .
Note: Non-Air Gap Faucet – Comes with the system. (Air Gap may be purchase separately - part number H-
T5022.) Some states require the use of an air gap faucet. Check your local plumbing co e to assure
compliance.
Additional Point of Use Connection ( ptional)
Note: To connect an a itional point of use (icemaker, extra faucet, etc.), place an a itional “T” connector
in the ¼” line between the faucet an the RO system. Ensure that all tubing an fittings use for RO pro uct
water are poly material, an not copper. Due to RO pro uct water being very pure, it can leach the minerals
from copper tubing which will cause a metallic taste in the water or ice an cause the copper tubing to evelop
pinhole leaks over time.

Turning the System On for the First Time
Make sure all water supply / rain lines are secure an free from leaks.
Slowly turn the fee valve counterclockwise until fully open (the han le shoul be in line with the tubing as it
enters the connection). Check the stem seal for leakage. If necessary, tighten stem nut lightly.
Turn storage tank valve one quarter turn counterclockwise to open the valve (the han le shoul be in line with
the tubing as it enters the connection).
Open the pro uct water faucet an let the water flow until all the air has been expelle from the system. This
will take about an hour.
Close the pro uct water faucet. In 30 minutes, check the connections for leaks an correct if necessary.
Do Not Use the First Two Reservoirs of Water
Allow the reservoir to fill for 4-6 hours. Dispense this water to rain. This process
removes the factory installe sanitizing solution from the entire system an sen s it to the
rain. Repeat this process one more time. Allow the tank to fill for 4-6 hours an
ispense this water to the rain. Do not rink this water!
Note: Air bubbles may be present in the pro uct water after initial system startup, causing a milky color in the
water. This is normal an safe to rink. The air bubbles will isappear within a few ays of regular use.

7. Screw the fitting (with tubing) back onto the housing.
8. The system is rea y. Turn on the water supply. Check for any leaks.
9. Drain the first two tanks of water before rinking.
Filter Replacement Instructions
All pre-and post filters should be replaced every 6 months.
Before starting, shut off col water supply to unit. Lift the han le on the faucet to rain out the storage tank
completely an allow the system to stan for 10 minutes in or er to fully ecompress the tank, reserving some
of the RO water to use to rinse the filter housings. Leave the faucet open until the filter change is complete.
1. Remove pre-filters from filter housings. Use a filter wrench if the housings are too tight.
2. Discar use filters, but save o-rings for re-use.
3. Clean insi e of all housings with a mil soap solution, an then rinse with RO water.
4. Lubricate the o-ring an replace in filter housing.
5. Insert the new filters into the appropriate housings an replace the housings onto the system.
6. Disconnect the post-filter by removing the fittings on either en . Replace with new post-filter an re-use
the existing fittings.
7. Follow the normal Start-up Proce ures. (Drain the first tank of water after changing the filters before
rinking.)
Sanitizing
We recommen sanitizing the system at least once a year. This can be one while changing your filters. Shut
own the system. If you have an icemaker hook-up installe , be sure the ball valve in the line to the
refrigerator is in the close position uring this proce ure. Open the faucet to rain the system, inclu ing the
tank. Remove the pre-filter cartri ges an RO Membrane from the system, leaving the ol post-filter cartri ge
in place. Wash the internal filter housing & membrane housing areas with warm soapy water an rinse well to
remove the soap. Pour about ¼ teaspoon of Hy rogen Peroxi e or househol bleach into each filter housing
an replace housings on the RO system. Open the fee water valve an open the RO faucet until water flows
freely from the spout. Close the faucet an hol the solution in the system for a minimum of 10 minutes. Drain
the tank completely, close the faucet to allow tank to fill again, an then rain again. Replace filters an
membrane as in icate in the replacement instructions. The post filter shoul be change after sanitizing the
system.

ptional Add on Deionizer Hook Up Schematics
When using a metal faucet on eionize water please be aware that it is better to use a plastic PVC faucet (DIFCK1) ue
to recontamination of the water by the minerals from the faucet.
Important
All Filter Housings are marked “IN” and “ UT” on the top”. This is intended for sediment filters and not for
deionizer filters or other granular filters. You must reverse the flow for granular filters so it is
important to connect the feed line to the port marked “ UT” on the housing and the tubing going to
the QC Light needs to be connected to the “IN” port on the filter housing. This will allow the granular
filter to flow from “top to bottom”. If it is hooked up backwards it will not make quality due to media
separation.
