How to replace the filters/stones/Cormac ring
You have made an important investment in
the AQV water filter system. With this sys-
tem you filter the water, it is vitalised and
provides you with necessary minerals.
It is very important that you replace the
filters and Cormac ring/stones in time.
The ceramic filter has a fineness of 0,2 micron
(0,0002 mm) and dirty water is going to block it.
You are advised to replace this filter every year.
The multi-layer filter in your water system
consists predominantly out of active carbon.
TheCarbonis,amongstothers,madefrom
coconut skins. The inside of the carbon has a
large internal surface and is very suitable for
binding materials.
Alargepartofcontaminationfromthewateris
boundtothecarbon.Aftertimethecarbonwill
be saturated and does not adsorb the dirt any
longer. Unfortunately you cannot see this on
the outside.
The manufacturer therefore advises to replace
themulti-layerlterevery6or12monthsde-
pending of the qualtity of your tap water. In any
case after filtering 2.000 litres water.
If you use a lesser quality water, for instance
from your own well, a water barrel or surface
water we advise you to replace the filter every
6monthsorafterhavingused1000litres.
The mineral stones should be replaced every
3yearsandtheCormac ring every year.

How long does it take to filter the water?
The first few times it will take longer before all the
water has gone through the filters.
The filters will have to be saturated first. Thereafter it
willlter1–1,5litresperhour.
Is my system leaking?
It is possible that the tap has been assembled too
loose/tight. This can be checked by putting a tissue
underthesiliconringofthetap.Checkifyouhaven’t
put more water in the upper tank than can fit in the
lower tank. Sometimes a bit of air stays behind
in the multi-layer filter preventing the water to run
through properly. Take the filter out of the system,
loosen the filter ring and put the filter horizontally in a
bowlofwater(seecartoonpicturenr.1).
How do I clean the ceramic filter?
The ceramic filter can get a brown calcium and/or
greenalgaedepositonit.Removethelterfromthe
upper tank and scour the filter very carefully with a
soft sponge until it is white again. When removing
the sphere from the tank for cleaning, firmly hold on
tothesyntheticfootandthelter.Neverboilthelter
to remove calcium deposits and never use vinegar.
If you do, you will damage the synthetic foot and the
ltercan’tbeusedagain.
Can I filter warm/hot water?
NO…youshouldonlyusecoldwater.
Why are there small white flakes floating on the
water?
Sometimes tap water can temporarily contain more
calcium. The small calcium and magnesium particles
in your filter system then clump together forming little
whiteakeswhichusuallydisappearbythemselves.
However, you can refresh the water although drink-
ing the water is not harmful.
The particles sometimes stick to the inside of the
tank and form a hard layer. In that case you should
take everything out of the lower tank and fill it with
lukewarmwater.Addagooddashofnaturalvinegar.
Leave this to soak until the hard layer separates. To
prevent damage to the tank, please use a soft cloth
to remove this.
