About User’s Manual
This User’s Manual is intended for experienced users and integrators with
hardware knowledge of personal computers. If you are not sure about any
description in this User’s Manual, please consult your vendor before further
handling.
Warning
The Rugged Tablet PC and their components contain very delicate
Integrated Circuits (IC). To protect the Rugged Tablet PC and its
components against damage from static electricity, you should always follow
the following precautions when handling it :
1. Disconnect your Rugged Tablet PC from the power source when you want
to work on the inside.
2. Use a grounded wrist strap when handling computer components.
3. Place components on a grounded antistatic pad or on the bag that came
with the Rugged Tablet PC, whenever components are separated from the
system.
Replacing the lithium battery
Incorrect replacement of the lithium battery may lead to a risk of explosion.
The lithium battery must be replaced with an identical battery or a battery type
recommended by the manufacturer.
Do not throw lithium batteries into the trashcan. It must be disposed of in
accordance with local regulations concerning special waste.

Warranty
This product is warranted to be in good working order for a period of one year
from the date of purchase. Should this product fail to be in good working order
at any time during this period, we will, at our option, replace or repair it at no
additional charge except as set forth in the following terms. This warranty
does not apply to products damaged by misuse, modications, accident or
disaster.
Vendor assumes no liability for any damages, lost prots, lost savings or any
other incidental or consequential damage resulting from the use, misuse of,
or inability to use this product. Vendor will not be liable for any claim made by
any other related party.
Vendors disclaim all other warranties, either expressed or implied, including but
not limited to implied warranties of merchantibility and tness for a particular
purpose, with respect to the hardware, the accompanying product’s manual (s)
and written materials, and any accompanying hardware. This limited warranty
gives you specic legal rights.
Return authorization must be obtained from the vendor before returned
merchandise will be accepted. Authorization can be obtained by calling or
faxing the vendor and requesting a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA)
number. Returned goods should always be accompanied by a clear problem
description.

General Information
1.1 Introduction
ARBOR would like to thank you for selecting MIL-6800. MIL-6800 is designed
as a forward-thinking product that is modularized in design and upgradable.
We thank you, our customers, for giving us the inspiration for the following
features:
• All-in-One Platform
The CPU, DRAM and even Windows XP (optional purchase item) are
integrated to provide a plug-and-play machine.
• Bright Display
The high brightness TFT LCD display suits industrial demands.
• Fanless and Modularized CPU Board
By using a low power processor, the system does not have to rely on
fans, which are often unreliable and causes dust to circulate inside
the equipment. The modularized design facilitates maintenance or
possible upgrades on the CPU board.
• Powerful Communication Capability
MIL-6800 provides serial ports, Ethernet, VGA, Audio, Mic-in, USB for
expansion ports through MCK-6600 (optional purchase item).
MIL-6800, Rugged Tablet PC, is designed to meet the highest industrial and
military standards in all respects. A high-strength all-aluminum structure with
a hard-anodized nish to prevent the damage or scratch cause by suddenly
impact during operation or transportation. High grade machine screws are
used throughout the case assembly to assure both high-tech design and very
rugged structure. An industrial grade water seal rubber “O” rings are applied
to all opening doors to maintain water proof specication for entire system.
In addition, the most advanced “Floating-Mount” technology was applied to
whole system to maintain the system to meet with MIL-STD 810F vibration
specication. A special designed universal mounting kit is ready for customer
to mount on vehicles or on the wall.
1.2 Important Safety Instructions
You can use your MIL-6800 under a wide range of environmental conditions.
However, to ensure longer lifetime and high performance, the following are
highly recommended.
- Read the instructions carefully.
- Follow all warnings and instruction notes in this documentation.

- Save these instruction manual for later use.
- Unplug the power cord from power outlet before cleaning. Use a damp cloth
for cleaning. Do not use aerosols, solvents, or strong detergents.
- On the power adaptor, there is a label providing information of the power
requirements of this system. If you are unsure of your local power supply,
consult your dealer or local power company.
- Do not step on or place anything on the power cord.
- When you use MIL-6800 with an extension cord, make sure that the total
ampere ratings of all the devices sharing the extension do not exceed the
rating of the extension cord or the rating of the wall outlet.
- Never push foreign objects into MIL-6800 through any of the slots or openings.
Dangerous voltages are present, which could cause electric shock or re, or
damage sensitive components.
- Do not attempt to service this product yourself. Opening or removing covers
may expose dangerous voltage points and/or damage the unit. Refer all
servicing to service personnel.

2.1 Packing List
After opening the package, carefully inspect the contents. If any of items
is missing or appears damaged, please contact with your local dealer or
distributor looking for service. The package should contain the following items:

Warning:
When you purchase the accessories, please purchase the items listed above
or purchase those accessories that are approved for use with MIL-6800. The
above accessories are proprietary items. Your system vendor can obtain these
approved accessories. If you use items that are not approved for use with
MIL-6800, you may cause your MIL-6800 to malfunction, or to emit or receive
electro-magnetic radiation in exceed of local regulations. For non-proprietary
accessories, such as PC Cards or printers, make sure that the accessories
work properly in your MIL-6800 before your purchase. Your system vendor
may recommend reliable models and brand names for you.

The power indicators show which power source the system is using.
They also show battery status and low battery power alerts. The power
indicators remain active and viewable even when the LCD panel is off.

2.2.6 Important Notice
Note: Your vendor should install Windows XP and device drivers ready for
your system. If you want to install the different operation system, please
connect the external USB CD-ROM to I/O cable’s USB connector, insert
the operation system CD to CD-ROM, reboot the system from CD-ROM
and follow the on screen instructions, then you are on your way to install the
new operation system. After you install the new operation system, please
install the device drivers. The driver CD comes with your package. If you
can’t nd the driver CD, please contact your local dealer for service.
After you install the device drivers, please do the calibration for your
touch screen.
If you have difculties on installing you new operation system, please refer
to your local service engineer to make sure you have setup your system
correctly.
