Controls
The alarm output are set on "positive security" by opening of the contact.
The alarmsare activatedin these cases :
4-5 : Système = Numberofattempts reached, System Out of Service,
Locking Remote control activated when the Recloser tries to close the CB
4-6 : Amont = CB closed, No voltage Downstream (mainsabsence)
4-7 : Aval = CB opened, No Voltage Downstream (CB tripping)
4-8 : Def Bat = BatteryVoltage Low
Remote Control
1-2 : Enclenchement = An impulse causesan attempt to close the CBaftera delayof 2 seconds
(Like the ResetPushbutton)
1-3 : Déclenchement = An impulse causes an opening of the CBif the optional module ispresent
Verrouillage = Amaintained closed state locksthe Recloserand preventsany reset
Indicators / Pushbuttons
CHARGE : Lit if thedownstream mains ispresent (batterycharge is effective)
ON : Lit except in "OUT OF SERVICE"mode orin waking state
DEFAUT(1) : Lit = blocked bya permanent fault orbatterylow detection
: flickering =the 5 attemptson transient faultsare reached
BATTERIE : Lit with progressive extinction according to the battery load
TEST RAZ : Reset the system; if necessary, the Reclosermakesan attempt aftera 2 seconds delay
RAZ COMPT : Reset the attempts counter if this optional module is present

Installation
Proceed to themechanical assembly and connect the wires
Set the Interrupteron "ENSERVICE" position
Mains Present : indicators"CHARGE" and "ENSERVICE" lit.The Recloseris readyto work
Mains Absent : indicator"CHARGE " off, "ENSERVICE"lit and "DEFAUT" Flickering;
Proceed on the pushbutton"TEST RAZ" toreset the Recloser
Tests
In all that follows, the Recloseris"ENSERVICE" and in Vertical standing
Manual Test:
Open the CB
Press the pushbutton "TEST RAZ",The Reclosermakesan attempt after a2 secondsdelay
Test onTransient Fault :
Open the CB
Aftera delay (e.g. 8 seconds), the CB isclosed
Wait about approximately 5 seconds and tryagain the2 pointsabove several times
At the 6th opening, the Reclosermust be blocked and the indicator "DEFAUT" flicks
Press the pushbutton "TEST RAZ", the CB is reclosed aftera 2 secondsdelay
Test onPermanent Fault:
Open the CB
When the Reclosermakesitsattempt, open again the CB, the Recloserblocksand the indicator"DEFAUT" lit
Press the pushbutton "TEST RAZ", the CB is reclosed aftera 2 secondsdelay
Battery : Charge,Test, Access and Maintenance
Charge : the battery ischargedif the DownstreamMains ispresent (indicator"CHARGE" lit). In the event of
completedischarge, let the Recloser charge it at least 30 hours.
Test : The best test isto open the CB; we advise with each visit of the site to open the CB. However an alarm will
appear when the voltage fallsinlowerpart ofa predetermined threshold. The usercan check the batteryvoltage
without disassembling by connecting a multimeterto the2 test pointson the front face
Access : To change the Battery, set the Recloser on "HORS SERVICE", withdrawthe PROTECmodule (no more
mainson the system)and open the trap doorunderthe PROTEC;disconnect the Batteryand changeit
Maintenance : The Average lifespan of the battery is 8years; a label on it specifies its date of manufacture (ARC Battery
guarantee is 4 years)
Faults
Upstream Fault: (no UpstreamMains) the Recloserdoesnot react and awaits possible tripping
TransientFault: The Reclosermakes5 attemptsand blocksat the 6th fault
Automatic Reset: Mainspresence on downstream CB during more than 3minutesmakes an automatic reset of the
attemptsnumber. The 5 attemptsare again authorized.
Permanent Fault : only one attempt is authorized before declaring afault
CAUTION : WAKING STATE
After an inactivity of 15mn, the Recloser passes in "waking state". The indicators "EN SERVICE" and "DEFAUT" are off. The
consumption is now lower than 100µA –Press one time on "TEST RAZ" pushbutton to light the indicator. A second press on the
pushbutton causes a general reset of the Recloser
Maintenance Advises
PROTEC2000 : Thismodule isa over voltage protection up to 20kV. In the event of amalfunction, the green
indicator"CHARGE" isunlighted.
BATTERY : Checkthe battery voltage (13 to 14VDC)on the test points
