1- General Explanations
1.1. Symbols and general safety explanations
Read this User Manual carefully before using ARGETRON Corva DMX 512 Splitter.

device.
Make sure that the dry, moisture free, electrical installation precautions are provided
for the assembly and installation.
Since your product is IP20, you should only use it in dry environments. Make sure
that the product is kept away from humid environments and does not meet water or
other liquids.

Connect the Voltage, Data and Led control cables while there is no
power.
Use our device with SELV Class 2 certified power supplies.
The length of each cable connected to the device should be 30
meters maximum.
The product works with 12-48 DC Volts. For the safety of the device
and your safety, please do not use any other voltage source.
The device is not suitable for unauthorized intervention. All repair
authorization of the device is the responsibility of the manufacturer.
1.2. Warranty
The device has a 3 year limited manufacturer's warranty. This warranty, which covers
structural defects of the device, material defects and manufacturing defects, will be
void if the product's cover is opened. If you think the device is malfunctioning, please

1.3. Disposal
The proper disposal of packing materials and of the device is the responsibili-
ty of the respective user. This electrical device and its accessories need to
be disposed of properly. Do not throw the device into normal trash or house-
hold waste. Please recycle packaging material whenever possible.

1.5. Certificate

All cables should be connected without power.
We strongly recommend using twisted cable for transmission of dmx
data.

2- Installation
The assembly process of the product is done with the order of dmx data cables and
power supply.
2.1. DMX Connection
The device has 1 pieces 3 pin terminal DMX Input and 2 pieces 3 pin terminal DMX
Outputs. It consists of DMX +, DMX-, Com pins. These outputs are isolated from
each other and represent the same DMX universe.
DMX outputs are separated from each other and from the processor module inside
the product by optical isolation. You can use these two outputs for electrical separation
of two regions that receive their data from the same universe, or you can use them
as backup outputs.
Make DMX connections while there is no energy in the receiver units and your device.
Next to each DMX output there are 3 pins to activate the termination resistor. These
are factory set to the "ON" position. If you do not want to use this ending resistor spe-
cific to your application, you can switch it to the "OFF" position.

2.2. Power Supply Connection
Argetron Corva DMX 512 Splitter has a wide input voltage value in the range of
12Vdc-48Vdc. Do not apply DC Voltage outside of this range. There is a 2 pin terminal
to connect the power supply. In case of reverse connection, the device will not
operate.
Use SELV Class 2 compliant power supply.
AC voltage of the device is not suitable.

6- Product Features
6.1. General characteristics
Corva DMX 512 Splitter is designed in accordance with ANSI E1.11 - 2004 512-A
and ANSI E1.20 - 2010 standards.
Corva DMX 512 Splitter has 1 DMX input port and 2 DMX output ports. DMX512 com-
munication is a protocol that uses RS485 (half duplex) physical and electrical structure.
Therefore, the basic rules for a healthy RS485 communication are also valid for the
DMX512. Some of these basic rules are:
* Use of twisted pair cable. D + and D- lines should be carried with a cable that is twist-
ed together. Ethernet cables are also suitable for this job, as can be purchased in
the market as RS485 cable.

* In addition, connecting the COM lines between DMX512 devices to each other
causes the DMX512 line to work healthier and increase EMC performance.
* At the beginning and at the end of the RS485 line, termination resistors with an ap-
proximate value of 120Ω should be used. The Corva DMX 512 Splitter has a jumper
to engage these resistors. The installer of the DMX512 system can terminate the
RS485 line by attaching the jumper of the DMX512 unit at the farthest point of the
system. (If jumper is not possible, a 120Ω 1 / 2W resistor can be connected between
D + and D-.) Termination resistors are generally available in DMX producing devices
and splitter. Therefore, the termination resistor may not be placed at the beginning
of the line in consultation with the manufacturer of the DMX producing device.
Likewise, if DMX splitter is inserted after a certain part of the line, termination resistor
may not be placed in consultation with the splitter manufacturer.

*The oldest known generation RS485 transmitters (RS485 integrated circuits that
have to be used on the circuit) support 32 RS485 nodes. Therefore, the number of
DMX devices (including DMX generators and splitters) connected to the line in a DMX
line should not exceed 32. If special transmitters are used, information about this
should be obtained from the manufacturer. In cases where more than 32 DMX512 de-
vices need to be connected, DMX512 splitter should be used.

Gerilim, Data ve Led kontrol kablolarını enerji yok iken bağlayınız.
Cihazımızı SELV Sınıf 2 sertifikalı güç kaynakları ile beraber kullanınız.
Cihaza bağlanana her kablonun uzunluğu maksimum 30 metre olmalıdır.
Ürün 12-48 DC Volt ile çalışmaktadır. Cihazın ve kendi emniyeti için
lütfen başka bir gerilim kaynağı kullanmayınız.
Cihaz yetkisiz kişilerin müdahalesine uygun değildir. Cihazın tüm
tamir sorumluluğu üretici sorumluluğundadır.

Cihazın 3 yıl sınırlı üretici garantisi bulunmaktadır. Cihazın yapısal hataları, malzeme

2- Montaj
Ürünün montaj süreci, dmx data kabloların ve güç kaynağı sıralaması ile yapınız.
2.1. DMX 512 Bağlantısı
Cihazın 1 adet pin teminal DMX Girişi ve 2 adet 3 pin teminal DMX Çıkışı bulunur.
DMX+, DMX-, Com pinlerinden oluşur. Bu çıkışlar birbirinden izoledir ve aynı DMX evre-
nini temsil eder.
DMX çıkışları birbirinden ve ürün içindeki işlemci modülünden optik izolasyon ile
ayrılmıştır. Bu iki çıkışı, datasını aynı evrenden alan iki bölgenin birbirinden elektriksel
olarak ayrılmasında kullanabileceğiniz gibi yedek çıkış olarak da kullanabilirsiniz.
DMX bağlantılarını alıcı ünitelerde ve cihazınızda enerji yok iken yapınız.
Her bir DMX giriş ve çıkışlarının yanında sonlandırma direncini aktive etmek için 3 pin
bulunmaktadır. Bunlar fabrika çıkışında “ON” pozisyonuna ayarlanmıştır. Uygulamanıza
özel bu sonlandırma direnci kullanmak istemiyorsanız “OFF” pozisyonuna alabilirsiniz.
Dmx datasının iletilmesinde twisted kablo kullanmanızı önemle
tavsiye ederiz.

Cihaz AC gerilimi uygun değildir.
2.2. Güç kaynağı bağlantısı
Argetron Corva DMX 512 Splitter 12Vdc-48Vdc aralığında geniş bir giriş gerilim değer-
ine sahiptir. Bu aralık dışlında DC Gerilim uygulamayınız. Güç kaynağını bağlamak
için 2 pinli terminal bulunmaktadır. Ters bağlantı durumunda cihaz çalışmayacaktır.
SELV Sınıf 2 uyumlu güç kaynağı kullanınız.
