Important, please read carefully: this end user license agreement is the legal agreement
reached between you (personal) and Caton Technology Inc on “ Caton VprO H.264/MPEG2 HD
Professional Decoder ” . An amendment or additional terms of the agreement may be provided with
the “ Caton VprO H.264/MPEG2 HD Professional Decoder ” . Once you use the “ Caton VprO
H.264/MPEG2 HD Professional Decoder ” , it means that you accept the restrictions in the
agreement. If you do not agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of this agreement, please
do not use the product. Caton Technology Inc reserves the right to change and interpret the End
User License agreement.
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING TERMS AND CONDITIONS. USING OF THE DEVICE
INDICATES YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF THE FOLLOWING TERMS AND CONDITIONS.

have acquired a license granted by Caton Technology Inc with product warranty.

have acquired an amendment or additional terms of the “ Caton VprO H.264/MPEG2
HD Professional Decoder ” license.
1) PERENNIAL LICENSE. Under the Perennial License, Licensor grants you the rights as
followings:
Documentation License. The accompany documentation with “ Caton VprO H.264/MPEG2 HD
Professional Decoder ” could be only for internal and noncommercial use and reference.
2) License termination. Your license may be terminated if you install other version of “ Caton
VprO 3002 H.264/MPEG2 Professional Decoder ” restricted by the agreement; you relinquish all
rights granted under this agreement. Any such unauthorized use shall result in immediate and
automatic termination of this license. And you must stop using the device in any case

Technology Inc.
“ Caton VprO H.264/MPEG2 HD rofessional Decoder ” is protected by Copyright and other
Intellectual Property Laws and treaties. Caton Technology Inc has the entire property rights,
copyright and intellectual property of “ Caton VprO H.264/MPEG2 HD Professional Decoder ” . Your
license confers no title or owner ship in the copyright and the property right and should not be
construed as a sale of any right of the copyright and property right. And this agreement doesn ’ t
grant you the right to use the trade marks or product labels of Caton Technology Inc.
4) No rent/business hosting. You could never rent out “ Caton VprO H.264/MPEG2 HD
Professional Decoder ” , or provide commercial hosting services.
5) Using data

You allow Caton Technology Inc and its subsidiaries to collect and use the
relevant technical information of “ Caton VprO H.264/MPEG2 HD Professional Decoder ” as parts
of the provision of product support services, we could warrant the disclosure without revealing
your personal identity.
6) Additional software/services. Caton Technology Inc would provide the upgrade and
additional components, if there are additional provisions about it.
7) Export restrictions. You acknowledge that “ Caton VprO H.264/MPEG2 HD Professional
Decoder ” subject to U.S. export law. You agree to comply with all international and domestic law
applicable in “ Caton VprO H.264/MPEG2 HD Professional Decoder ” includes the U.S. Export
Administration Regulations, as well as end-users, end-use and destination restrictions issued by
the United States and other governments.
8) License Restrictions. You may not distribute, sublicense, transfer, or lend the license to any
third party.
9) Termination. If you do not comply with the terms and conditions in this agreement, Caton
Technology Inc may terminate this agreement without prejudice to any other rights.

Overview
The VprO 5100/5100D is a broadcast-quality decoder, decryptor , TS Processor and
i nterface converter that provides MPEG-2 and H.264 SD/HD decoding, advanced
transport stream processing, cutting-edge IP processing technologies and variety of
front-ends, including DVB-S/S2, MPEG over IP and more.
The Vpro 5100/5100D enables the applications in receiving and decoding of HD/SD
streams transported through
IP,
satellite and ASI network. The system supports UDP
or RTP/UDP DVB over IP outputs, and multi-channel DVB-ASI outputs. The error
alarm and system log functions provide users with an easy approach to monitor and
control the broadcasting status and trouble clearing.

2-1-1 Turn on the VprO
To
turn on the VprO, follow these steps :
①Press the power switch on the rear panel.
②When the VprO is turned on, the message shown below appears on the
screen

The initializing sequence of VprO is within 30s. Turning it off and back on
in a short interval of time could cause it to malfunction .

After the initializing sequence is completed, the operating status window
displays on the screen as shown in Figure 2-2.

Apart from the above three cases, there may some hardware defects with
the device. In such cases, please contact your sales support for technical

1. Navigating the menus:
Use ”▲“ , “▼” ," E nter"," Esc " to navigate the menus in VprO
2. Conducting settings in menus:
1) Use " ► " to enter “ editable mode ” ;
2) Then use ”▲““▼” " ◄ "" ► " to select the numbers or options;
3) Press the “ E nter ” key to save the settings ;
4) P ress “ E sc ” key to cancel the modification and quit “ editable mode ” .
3. Warm reboot by front panel:
1) Press " ◄ " and “ UID ” at th e same time.
2) When the screen shows message “ REBOOTING ” , release the button and wait
for finish.
3) After finishing rebooting the VprO, the screen displays as shown in Figure 2-2.
4. Keypad lock and unlock:
Press ”▲“ and “▼” at same time and hold for 3s will lock or unlock the keypad.

ON. If you want to use tuner as the source of decoding, don ’ t forget to select it

When the RF signal is from a QPSK/8PSK modulator, you need to
check two things
One: if LnbLow=0 then Freq=DownFreq
Two: if LnbLo=!0 then
Under C band :Freq=LNBLow-DownFreq, LNBLow can be set 5150
Under KU band:Freq=LNBLow+DownFreq,LNBLow can be set 10000
Multicast setting will be active only if IP Type is set to Multicast. If IP
Type is set to Unicast, it uses the IP address which can be configured in
network menu.
When all of the parameter settings are correct the IP menu shows
SYNC ON. If you want to use IP as the source of decoding, don ’ t forget to
select it in workmode menu.

Auto Mode: VprO will decode the first program automatically in the
selected source. Attention, decoding may failed if the first program is
scrambled, you may need an authorized access card form your service
provider.

Only CVBS interface can support all 4 types of default picture. SDI
interface don't support Sync OFF and Col.Bar
Auto mode in Output Format can only output SD stream,when you
need to change SD to HD or HD to SD you need restart the device
AR Convert is available when AspectRatio is set as non-original aspect
ratio.
A/V Sync is used for adjusting the synchronization of video and audio in
accordance with actual situation. Recommend enabling PCR with tuner input
and ASI input, enabling Audio with IP input or selecting the default Auto.
You
must enable the function of DigitalOut within Pri-Aud and set it as
"PASS" if select 1channel audio loopingout.
