bottle gas. Propane bottles, will supply gas all year roun , even on col winter ays. Butane bottles will

output available from the burners, particularly once the gas temperature starts to fall below +10°C. A
spanner may be require to change gas bottles.
• The hose shoul hang freely with no ben s, twisting, tension, fol s, or kinks that coul obstruct free
flow of gas. Always inspect the hose for cuts, cracks, or excessive wear before use.
• Apart from the connection point, no part of the hose shoul touch any hot barbecue parts. If the hose
shows any sign of amage it must be replace with a hose suitable for use with LP gas which meets
the national stan ar s for the country of use.

Grill Cooking
The burners heat up the flame tamer un erneath the grill, which in turn heats the foo on the grill. The
natural foo juices pro uce uring cooking fall onto the hot flame tamer below an vaporise. The
subsequent rising smoke bastes the foo , as it travels upwar s, imparting that unique barbecue flavor.
Roasting Hood Cooking
Barbecues equippe with a roasting hoo give the option to form an ‘oven’ for roasting or baking foo ,
such as joints of meat or whole chickens, etc. More even cooking of foo will actually be achieve by using
the barbecue with the hoo own. However, this shoul only be one with the burners on low.
For best results, place the foo you wish to bake or roast on a metal baking tray an set it on one si e of
the cooking grill.
Turn the burner irectly un er the foo to the OFF position an turn all other burners to a LOW to MEDIUM
position.
Close the hoo to cook the foo ‘in irectly’. Avoi lifting the hoo unnecessarily as heat is lost every time
the hoo is opene . If the hoo is opene uring cooking please allow extra time for the barbecue to regain
its temperature an complete the cooking. Use the temperature gauge (if applicable) to monitor the heat of
the barbecue.
If the internal heat becomes too high, turn the burners own to the low position. It is not necessary or
a visable to have all of the burners on high when the hoo is close .
DO NOT ALLOW YOUR BARBECUE TO OVERHEAT. Take care when opening the hoo as hot steam
can be release on opening.
Warming Rack
Warming racks are a convenient way to keep cooke foo warm or to warm items such as brea rolls. It is
a visable to place foo (particularly fatty foo s) to the front of the warming rack to avoi the possibility of juices
an fat running own the back of your barbecue. Always check that your warming rack is properly fitte before
use.
Flare-Up Control *Very Important Notice*
Flare-ups occur when meat is barbecue , an its fat an juices fall upon the hot flame tamer. Smoke of
course helps give foo its barbecue flavour, but it is best to avoi excessive flare-up to prevent foo
being burne . To control flare-ups, it is ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL to trim away excess fat from meat
an poultry before grilling, use cooking sauces an marina es sparingly an try to avoi very cheap cuts
of meat or meat pro ucts as these ten to have a high fat an water content. Also, the burners shoul
always be place on the low setting uring cooking.

barbecue an the insi e of the cover. It is possible for moul to grow on any fat remaining on parts of the
barbecue. This shoul be cleane off smooth surfaces with hot soapy water.
Any rust that is foun that oes not come into contact with the foo shoul be treate with a rust inhibitor
an painte with barbecue paint or a heat resistant paint. A chrome cleaner may be use on chrome parts
if require . To prevent rusting, wipe chrome plate parts with cooking oil after rinsing an rying.
When flare-ups o occur, they can usually be extinguishe by applying baking so a or salt irectly onto
the flame tamer. Always protect your han s when han ling anything near the cooking surface of the
barbecue an take care to protect yourself from the flames.
If a fat fire occurs, please see the instructions given below.
Fat Fires
Empty an clean the rip tray, of foo ebris after each cooking session. If the barbecue is to be use for
large gatherings, it will be necessary to turn off an cool the barbecue every two hours to remove foo
ebris from the rip tray, an clean it out. The time between cleaning may nee to be re uce if very
fatty foo s or cheap meat pro ucts are being cooke . Failure to o this may result in a fat fire, which
may cause injury an coul seriously amage the barbecue.
In the event of a fat fire:
‧
If safe to o so, turn all control knobs to the ‘off’ position.
‧
Turn off the gas supply at the gas bottle.
‧

‧
If the fire oes not seem to be abating or appears to be worsening, contact your local Fire Briga e for
assistance.
End of Cooking Session
After each cooking session, turn the barbecue burners to the “high” position an burn for 5 minutes. This
proce ure will burn off cooking resi ue, thus making cleaning easier. Make sure the hoo is open uring
this process.
Turning Off Your Barbecue
When you have finishe using your barbecue, turn all the control valves fully clockwise to the “Off” position,
then switch off the gas supply at the bottle.
Wait until the barbecue is sufficiently cool before closing the hoo or li .

Barbecue Body
Regularly remove excess grease or fat from the barbecue bo y using a cloth wrung out in hot soapy water
